I sat on the bed patiently trying to figure out what to wear. It's just a date, a coffee date. Is it really a date? Yeah Naya said so...she said it was a date so it has to be one.
I sighed as I tried to get up but failed miserably, my leg was still hurting, I'm not supposed to walk at all for a month until my leg starts to rebuild that broken muscle if not I could damage it. I got on my wheelchair and went to my closet trying to look for clothes. I heard a knock on the door making me stop movements. It can't be Naya, I looked at my phone which was in my pocket and it in fact was time for our little coffee date. I grabbed a random shirt and put it in quickly, I debated on changing pants but then I have to take my cast off just to take my pants off and I didn't want to go through all of that trouble just for that.
I went to the front door as I saw Naya patiently standing there fidgeting with her fingers
"Hey Demi" A smile overtook my face once I saw her, she entered the house and stood in front of me like she always does
"Ready for that coffee" she chuckled and pushed me outside the house, I got in the car trying hard not to accidentally fall I just used one leg to get in, while Naya put the wheelchair in the back
"We could've just had coffee at your place" Naya stated making me shake my head
"I don't make good coffee and besides it wouldn't be a coffee date no more would it?" She raised her eyebrows and focused her attention back on the road. Shit did I ruin this by accidentally saying date...is this even a date, I'll ask her once we come back but for now I'll treat it as a date....a coffee date.
We arrived at this warm little coffee place that was 10 minutes away from my house, Naya was quickly on my side putting her arm around my waist with the wheelchair beside her
"I can get on Naya the wheelchair is literally 2 feet away from me" I told her making her release her arm around my waist
"Right" she chuckled
We entered Starbucks and we sat at the end of the place where no one could see us, we didn't want to get caught having coffee together by stupid paparazzi.
"So tell me about yourself"
"Well I am from California, my favorite color is pink, I love Coldplay and I have two siblings one of them is named Nickayla which is my sister and my brother which his name is Mychal. I also like staying in shape it's kinda of a habit. I am also a nerdy person when it comes to games I'm sorry you have to witness that if you ever do witness it of course" I for sure want to witness that
"Since you work out a lot do you have like a six pack going on or..." I blushed putting my head down
"Oh I have abs if that counts but only special people get to see those" she winked at me making my cheeks get even redder than they already where. I looked away from her staring and looked ahead
"Have you ever been in a relationship?" I shook my head
"No have you?"
"I mean in high school but it wasn't like real or anything it was just one of those dating type of things were you date but you have no feelings for them" she shrugged
"Oh well that's good" I grinned, she's never fell in love with anyone just like me, I hope I could be her first in that and maybe even her first girlfriend. I smiled at the thought of me and Naya being together and holding hands.
"You know something embarrassing about me?" She shook her head
"I wear glasses" she looked at me confused
"Why aren't you wearing them right now?"
"These are contacts. I hardly ever take them off so it's kinda rare seeing me in glasses" she nodded
"Well you should wear glasses more because you'll look even more beautiful with them, I mean you still look beautiful right now" my cheeks grew red
"Stop being so cute" I muttered. She smiled towards me
"May I take your order" one of the waitress from there asked without looking up
"Um just a coffee for both of us will be fine" Naya said making the girl look up at the process, once she saw who it was her eyes literally popped out of her head, she looked at us in shock
"Will t-that be all for you" she stuttered out, Naya only nodded
"Sorry for asking this but can I take a picture with both of you" We both said 'yes' at the same. She got her phone out from the front of her apron and we got up as we took the picture with her
"Thank you so much" she said "your order will be ready as quick as possible" I chuckled and looked at Naya looking rather amused by what just happened.
5 minutes later the girl came back with our coffees
"That'll be 5 dollars" I took out money from my purse and was about to give it to the waitress but Naya grabbed my hand so I put the money on my other hand and gave it to her
"I was going to pay" she said looking at me pouting
"It's only 5 dollars" I shrugged.
We left the coffee shop moments after, of course Naya being the overprotective friend helped me inside the car although I was starting to think she only did that so she could be close to me and just to have the chance to put her arms around my waist.
We were back at my house, we were in the living room, I got out of my wheelchair to sit on the couch next to Naya
"Can I ask you a question?" She looked at me with a curious look
"Sure"
"Was this a date...a coffee date I mean-I don't-I wanted it to be a date I-I mean if you wanted it to be a date I don't know" I shyly put my head down
"I mean a coffee date? I could take you out on a real date if you want me too" she winked at me making me blush
"I would like that" I muttered. I know she didn't hear me because i saw her getting up "Im going to the restroom I'll be right back"
It was 15 minutes later and Naya hadn't returned yet, I wonder what was taking her long to go to the restroom. I tried getting up on my wheel chair that was a couple of feet away from me, I grabbed the handle of the wheelchair but It ended up going back making me fall straight on my face on the tile of my floor. My nose was in pain for a couple of seconds then the pain started kinda fading away, my leg started hurting a little because my cast hit the floor, well my knee hit the floor.
"Demi?!" Naya came in the living room with a pang of guilt "I'm sorry oh my god" she helped me up to get on the couch
"Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?" She grabbed my hand and looked at me in the eyes
"I'm fine Naya I just fell"
"Why is your nose really red? Why does it look kinda swollen? What is happening?" she asked furrowing her eyebrows as she started poking my nose with her index finger, making me wince a little
"It hit the floor" I mumbled, she grabbed my face and at that moment I thought she was going to kiss me but instead she pecked my nose with her lips
"Better?" I shook my head
"My lips are also red, I think I deserve a kiss there" I said making her smile and look down at my lips, she started running her fingers along my jaw
"They look fine to me" she smirked
"They hurt" I pouted
"Well you have to live with it....for now" she got up from the couch and I could still feel her fingers around my jaw from moments ago
"We should probably ice that. It's already getting swollen" I waited on the couch patiently while she brought an ice pack
"Here you go. You better hope it's not broken" she started poking my nose again making me groan a little "hurts?" I only nodded putting the ice pack on my nose
"You know you kinda look like Rudolph with your red nose" I looked at her like if she was serious
"Seriously are you Rudolph?" She laughed "kidding Rudolph Is cute, you aren't" I scoffed and hit her arm playfully
"I'm cuter than Rudolph he's just a reindeer, I'm an actual human being" she raised her eyebrows
"That's why he's cuter than you, animals are always cute...well most of them" she stayed quiet for a while until she spoke up "actually I was thinking of getting a puppy for Christmas since its only 2 months away"
"I always wanted a puppy" she smiled and grabbed my hand
"Well maybe I'll give you one as a Christmas present"
