I woke up at Celeste's and went on my phone until she woke up. Celeste woke up and said,
"Good morning"
"Morning!" I said.
"My mom has work early Sunday morning but she might've made breakfast before she left" Celeste said getting up.
"Okay!" I said and followed Celeste to the kitchen.
There were chocolate chip pancakes covered on the table. Celeste and I sat down and ate together.
"Your mom is a really good cook" I said.
"You should try her Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, hella good" Celeste said.
"You'll have to bring me leftovers this year" I said.
"Bitchhh you know I will" She said.
"Thank you!" I said.
We finished eating then I said,
"I should probably get going"
"Okay" Celeste said.
I grabbed my stuff and Celeste and I walked to her door. I gave her a hug and said,
"Thank you so much for having me, also tell your mom I said goodbye and thank you"
"Of course, you are welcome anytime, seriously" Celeste said.
"Bye!" I said and walked to my car.
"Bye!" Celeste said.
I drove home. I pulled into the garage, the boys car's were still at Mattia's. I walked inside and said,
"Hi mom" as I walked into the kitchen.
"Hi, how was your sleepover?" She asked.
"Super fun" I said.
"I'm glad" My mom said.
I went upstairs and into my room. I grabbed my backpack and I started to do my homework that's due tomorrow. My homework took me about an hour and a half but I was finally done. I decided to clean my room and then shower. After I finished showering it was around 6pm. I finished getting dressed and plopped onto my bed.
"...you know Luna's not going to go for that" I heard my mom sad.
I sat up in confusion and tried to listen to my mom.
"...you're taking me to court? for custody of Luna?" My mom asked.
My eyes instantly widened after hearing that. She was talking to my dad... I got up and got my small backpack and filled it with clothes and other necessities. Then I grabbed my school backpack and went downstairs and into the garage. I pulled my car out and impulsively drove to Celeste's. I know this is a horrible way to solve my problems but it's not like i'm running away forever. I pulled up into Celeste's driveway and knocked on her door. She opened it soon after and said,
"Luna?"
"Can I please stay here?" I begged.
"Yes of course, but why? Are you okay?" She asked me.
I walked inside and Celeste's mom, Cleo walked up to me.
"Back so soon?" She asked.
"I was in my room and I heard my mom on the phone with my dad. He wants to take her to court to get custody of me, and I really really don't like him. He left me why would he want me again?" I said.
"Oh Luna..." Cleo said.
"You can stay here anytime" Celeste said.
"Yes you can, you're always welcome. I'm sorry, Celeste's father did a similar thing... I'm sure you two can relate to eachother. Have you had dinner?" Cleo asked me.
"No" I said.
"Let me make you two some dinner" Cleo said.
Celeste and I walked into her room and sat down on her bed. We didn't say anything, she just hugged me. It was honestly all I needed right now. My mind and thoughts were racing. I was beyond anxious. I would punch a wall right now like I always do but that's kind of dumb. Celeste turned on her TV and put on 'Euphoria'
"I know this is an older show but I was rewatching it" Celeste said.
"I love this show, you can keep it on. Anything is fine with me" I said.
We watched TV and Celeste's mom brought in grilled cheeses with a pickle on the side for us.
"Thank you so much" Celeste and I said in sync.
"Enjoy" Cleo said and walked out.
We ate and binged more TV for a while then I heard my phone go off.

I know I should answer my mom and let her know where I am but I didn't. I put my phone down and kept watching TV.
"Wanna get leftover cake?" Celeste asked.
"Yess" I said getting up, following Celeste and leaving my phone on her bed.
We walked into the kitchen and cut ourselves both a piece of cake. We ate the cake and talked to her mom for a while then went back into her room. It was dark outside by now and we both plopped onto her bed. Celeste played the show and went on her phone. I picked up my phone and saw a mass amount of notifications.

I read all of the notifications and listened to the voicemails from my mom and Mattia. Celeste looked at me and said,
"Look Mattia and your mom are just trying to help you. They both care about you. You can stay here as long as you want but you gotta let them know you're okay" Celeste said.
I sighed and Celeste said,
"Mattia's gonna go insane not knowing you're safe"
"I know, I know" I said and leaned back into a pillow.
After a little while Celeste and I both got ready for bed. I brushed my teeth and washed my face then changed into Mattia's hoodie and sweatpants. I laid down and went on my phone. Celeste was in the shower.

I'm okay?! That's all you are going to say? You had everyone scared Luna.

I put my phone down, rolled over and fell asleep.
-the next morning-
Celeste's alarm went off at 6:30am. We both got up and she went into her bathroom. I got up and put on mom jeans and a white crop tank. Celeste walked out of the bathroom, changed and said,
"All yours"
"Thank you" I said and walked into the bathroom.
I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I brushed my hair and tied some of it back and out of my face. I put on deodorant and body spray. I was finished getting ready and packed the stuff that I brought to Celeste's and walked into the kitchen. Celeste whipped up some smoothie bowls and handed me one.
"Thank you! This looks great" I said and sat down.
"You're welcome"
We both ate then washed our dishes.
"Thanks for breakfast" I thanked Celeste.
"Of course" She said.
She grabbed her backpack then said,
"You ready?"
"Yeah" I said.
We both got in her car and drove to school. She played Lil Tracy as we drove to school. She parked her car and we both walked into the school building. We were there fairly early, much earlier than I ever get here at least.
"Hey I just wanted to thank you for letting me come over unannounced and taking care of me" I said to Celeste.
"Luna, I'm always here for you and you can come over anytime. I know you would do the same for me" Celeste smiled.
"I would, I'm always here for you too, love you" I said.
"I love you too, Luna. I'll catch you later" She said and then walked over to Dylan.
I opened my locker and put my other backpack full of clothes inside of it. I shut my locker and Mattia was leaning up against the locker next to mine. His arms were crossed and he was looking down at me. I looked up at him, scared of what he was going to say to me. He immediately wrapped his arms around me, drowning me in a big hug. I exhaled and hugged him back. He didn't let go.
"Mattia..." I said.
He eventually let go of me and said,
"I was so worried about you. When your mom came over and asked where you were my heart dropped" He admitted.
"I'm okay... I was just at Celeste's" I said rubbing his arm to comfort him.
"I've always had a bad feeling about her" He scowled.
"It's not her. She's great. I over heard my mom on the phone with my dad and he was saying that he's going to take her to court to get custody of me..." I said looking down.
"Oh Luna..." Mattia said hugging me again.
"So then I just kinda ran away... I wasn't really thinking I just don't want him to have custody of me. He's left me before why would he wanna be in my life again...?" I said.
"Who wouldn't want to be in your life? You bring so much joy to everyone you know. You instantly brighten up a room just with your laugh and smile. But I could never understand why he could leave you. It makes me so angry how badly he's hurt you, I'm sorry he wants custody of you. I'm sure you will have a say in that though and I'm sure your mom will fight for you. You don't need to run away to solve things. I'm here for you, Luna" Mattia said.
Tears formed in my eyes but a smile grew on my face.
"How did I get so lucky? Thank you so much, Mattia. I love you endlessly" I said smiling at him.
"I love you too, I'm glad you're safe" He said hugging me again.
