Will Schuester faces his club, "This years musical is," He points at Finn to do a drum roll, "Grease."
The group cheer.
"I bags Sandy." Rachel says, cheering.
"If she's Sandy, can I be Danny?" Finn asks.
"We'll be holding auditions so you two can't bags being the main roles just yet." Will says.
"When will auditions be held?" Blaine asks.
"Friday," Will says, "Today is Monday so you'll have a couple of days to prepare your auditions. You can perform them as solos or duets."
Rachel looks at Finn, smiling. She knows who she's going to sing her duet with. Finn smiles back at her, thinking the same thing as her.
"Good luck." Will says, letting the group plan among themselves what they were going to do to get parts.
Ryder stared at Marley, hoping they could sing together but she didn't even look at him. She was talking to Jake, probably planning a duet with him. Ryder just needed to win her over but according to the whole school, he's dating Kitty. Then a thought popped into his mind; Why would Kitty be helping him? Maybe she likes Jake or something like that.
----------------------------------
"Marley."
Marley turns on her spot in the empty corridor to see no one saying her name.
"Marley." The same voice says. She follows the voice as it repeats her name over and over again. It's from inside the auditorium so she walks inside to see no one. The voice repeats itself over and over again as she walks down the steps of the large auditorium. Ryder walks on stage looking like Danny from Grease.
"Nice outfit." Ryder says, smiling.
Marley looks at her own clothes. She's wearing a similar tight black suit that Sandy wore in Grease, "Thanks." She says, walking on stage.
"Sing with me." Ryder says. She nods and music starts.
[Ryder:]
I got chills.
They're multiplyin'.
And I'm losin' control.
'Cause the power
you're supplyin',
it's electrifyin'!
The New Directions come out dancing around with the girls dressed like Pink Ladies and the guys dressed like T-Birds. All of them except Jake, Finn and Rachel.
[Marley:]
You better shape up,
'cause I need a man
and my heart is set on you ([New Directions:] And my heart is set on you!)
You better shape up;
you better understand
to my heart I must be true.
[Ryder:]
Nothin' left, nothin' left for ([Marley:] Ooo) me to do.
[Marley and Ryder:]
You're the one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
Honey
The one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
Honey
The one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
The one I need.
Oh, yes indeed.
Rachel and Finn dance onto the stage from the sides dressed similar to Ryder and Marley.
[Rachel:]
If you're filled
with affection
you're too shy to convey,
meditate in my direction.
Feel your way.
[Finn:]
I better shape up,
'cause you need a man
[Rachel:]
I need a man
who can keep me satisfied. ([New Directions:] Who can keep me satisfied)
[Finn:]
I better shape up
if I'm gonna prove
[Rachel:]
You better prove
that my faith is justified.
[Finn:]
Are you sure?
[Rachel and Finn:]
Yes, I'm sure down deep inside.
You're the one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn:]
Honey!
[Marley and Ryder:]
The one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
Honey!
The one that I want
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn (New Directions):]
The one I need (One I need)
Oh, yes indeed (Yes indeed)
[Rachel and Finn:]
You're the one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn:]
Honey!
[Marley and Ryder:]
The one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
Honey!
The one that I want
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn (New Directions):]
The one I need (One I need)
Oh, yes (Yes indeed)
[Rachel:]
Indeed!
[Rachel and Finn:]
You're the one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn:]
Honey!
[Marley and Ryder:]
The one that I want.
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Marley and Ryder:]
Honey!
The one that I want
[New Directions:]
You are the one I want, Ooo, oo, o
[Rachel and Finn (New Directions):]
The one I need (One I need)
Oh, yes indeed (Yes indeed)
[Rachel, Finn, Marley and Ryder:]
You're the One That I Want
The song ends and the stage is empty. A bright light is in Marley's eyes. She's alone on the stage and hears a slow clapping. She adjusts to the light and sees Jake, giving her a standing ovation then he disappears. She's alone.
She then wakes up. It was all just a dream but what did it mean? It confuses her but she can tell one thing; She's definitely auditioning for Grease.

"Does she look jealous?" I ask Kitty. My back's to Marley so I can't tell.
"Look yourself, stupid." Kitty says. I look over my shoulder to see Marley talking with Kurt, Rachel, Blaine, Jake and Finn. God, she's besutiful when she laughs. I look back at Kitty.
"This is working, hopefully." I say.
"Yeah it is." Kitty says, looking smug.
"She still likes Jake a lot. That's all I know about her other man." I say.
"Jake is too hot for her. He can be mine." Kitty says.
"So, you have a crush on Jake?" I ask.
"No shiz, sherlock. That's the only reason I'm helping you." Kitty says.
I look a little shock, "Is there anyway you'd be able to help me with my Grease audition?"
"I don't sing. Glee club is for losers." Kitty says. She pecks my check, making us look like a couple then leaves.

Friday comes fast and the club are all seat with duets and solos to perform for their auditions. The soloist are Wade, Ryder, Kurt, Blaine and Puck. The ones doing duets are Mike and Tina, Rachel and Finn, Jake and Marley, Brittany and Sam and Santana and Mercedes. Sugar isn't auditioning but she has already been cast as the role of Frenchy. Quinn also isn't auditioning because of her pregnancy. Will has Artie as his directing assitant.
Wade walks on stage as Unique. He/She grabs the microphone off the stand and the song starts.
Ever since I was a young boy,
I've played the silver ball.
From Soho down to Brighton
I must have played them all.
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In any amusement hall...
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball!
He stands like a statue,
Becomes part of the machine.
Feeling all the bumpers
Always playing clean.
He plays by intuition,
The digit counters fall.
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball!
He's a pinball wizard
There has got to be a twist.
A pin ball wizard,
Got such a supple wrist.
('How do you think he does it?)
I don't know!
(What makes him so good?')
Well, he ain't got no distractions
Can't hear those buzzers and bells,
Don't see lights a flashin'
Plays by sense of smell.
Always has a replay,
And never tilts at all...
That deaf dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball.
He can't beat me now
I've always been the champ
I know every trick
No freak's gonna beat my hand
Even on my usual table,
he can beat the best.
His disciples lead him in,
and he just does the rest.
He's got crazy flipper fingers,
I never seen him fall,
That deaf, dumb, blind kid,
Sure plays a mean pinball.
He's a pinball wizard,
there has to be a twist.
A pinball wizard,
got such a supple wrist.
He's a pinball wizard,
his score's a trillion more.
A pinball wizard,
The world's new pinball lord.
He's scoring more!
He's scoring more!
I thought I was the Bally table king,
But I just handed my pinball crown to him.
To him!
To him!
Will and Artie claps. Unique bows and leaves the microphone on the stand. She struts off the stage.
"That was good for Wade." Artie says.
"What do you mean by that?" Will asks.
"I don't know what I'm saying." Artie says. He taps his pen on the table, waiting for the next person to walk out. Ryder walks out and stands infront of the microphone stand. The music starts.
Standing in the rain
With his head hung low
Couldn't get a ticket
It was a sold out show.
Heard the roar of the crowd
He could picture the scene.
Put his ear to the wall
Then like a distant scream.
He heard one guitar
Just blew him away
Saw stars in his eyes
And the very next day.
Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didn't know how to play it
But he knew for sure
That one guitar
Felt good in his hands.
Didn't take long to understand.
Just one guitar
Slung way down low
Was a one-way ticket
Only one-way to go.
So he started rockin' ain't never gonna stop
Gotta keep on rockin'
Someday he's gonna make it to the top.
And be a Juke Box Hero got stars in his eyes
He's a Juke Box Hero.
Yeah
He took one guitar
Juke Box Hero got stars in his eyes
Juke Box Hero he'll come alive tonight.
In a town without a name
In a heavy downpour
Thought he passed his own shadow
By the backstage door.
Like a trip through the past
To that day in the rain
And that one guitar
Made his whole life change.
Now he needs to keep
Rockin' he just can't stop -
Gotta keep on rockin'
That boy has got to stay on top.
And be a Juke Box Hero got stars in his eyes
He's a Juke Box Hero
Yeah
Juke Box Hero
With that one guitar he'll come alive
Come alive tonight.
He's gotta keep on rockin'
He just can't stop
He just can't stop
Gotta keep on rockin'
That boy has got to stay on top
He's got a real Juke Box Hero got stars in his eyes.
He's a Juke Box Hero
Juke Box Hero with stars in his eyes
Yeah, he's a Juke Box Hero
Juke Box Hero
Juke Box Hero his got stars in his eyes
Stars in his eyes.
Will and Artie clap and Ryder leaves the stage, smiling.
"That was good." Will says.
"I didn't know that kid had it in him." Artie says.
Kurt walks on stage. He waits for the music to start then sings when it starts.
I don't know why I'm frightened
I know my way around here
The cardboard trees, the painted seas, the sound here...
Yes, a world to rediscover
But I 'm not in any hurry
And I need a moment
The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways
The atmosphere as thrilling here as always
Feel the early morning madness
Feel the magic in the making
Why, everything's as if we never said goodbye
I've spent so many mornings just trying to resist you
I'm trembling now, you can't know how I've missed you
Missed the fairy tale adventure
In this ever spinning playground
We were young together
I'm coming out of make-up
The lights already burning
Not long until the cameras will start turning...
And the early morning madness
And the magic in the making
Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye
I don't want to be alone
That's all in the past
This world's waited long enough
I've come home at last!
And this time will be bigger
And brighter than we knew it
So watch me fly, we all know I can do it...
Could I stop my hand from shaking?
Has there ever been a moment
With so much to live for?
The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways
So much to say not just today but always...
We'll have early morning madness
We'll have magic in the making
Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye
Yes, everything's as if we never said goodbye...
We taught the world new ways to dream!
Kurt does a small bow then skips off stage. Will and Artie write notes about the first three and then wait for the fourth person to audition. Blaine walks on stage and smiles at Will and Artie as the music starts.
So this is what you meant
When you said that you were spent,
And now it's time to build from the bottom of the pit
Right to the top,
Don't look back
Packing my bags and giving the academy a rain check
I don't ever want to let you down
I don't ever want to leave this town
'Cause after all,
This city never sleeps at night
It's time to begin,
Isn't it
I get a little bit bigger, but then, I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Oh, don't you understand
I'm never changing who I am
So this is where you fell
And I am left to sell
The path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell
Right to the top,
Don't look back
Turning to rags and giving the commodities a rain check
I don't ever want to let you down
I don't ever want to leave this town
'Cause after all,
This city never sleeps at night
It's time to begin,
Isn't it,
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Oh, don't you understand,
I'm never changing who I am
It's time to begin,
Isn't it
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Oh, don't you understand
I'm never changing who I am
This road never looked so lonely (lonely)
This house doesn't burn down slowly (slowly)
To ashes, to ashes
It's time to begin,
Isn't it
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Now don't you understand
I'm never changing who I am
It's time to begin,
Isn't it
I get a little bit bigger, but then I'll admit
I'm just the same as I was
Don't you understand
I'm never changing who I am
(Am, am, am
Am, am, am, am)
Blaine recieves a standing ovation from Will (Artie would but he can't). Blaine smirks then walks off stage then Puck walks on stage with a guitar. He starts to play his guitar and the band join in.
Please baby can't you see
My mind's a burnin' hell
I got razors a rippin' and tearin' and strippin'
My heart apart as well
Tonight you told me
That you ache for something new
And some other woman is lookin' like something
That might be good for you
Go on and hold her till the screaming is gone
Go on believe her when she tells you
Nothing's wrong
But I'm the only one
Who'll walk across the fire for you
I'm the only one
Who'll drown in my desire for you
It's only fear that makes you run
The demons that you're hiding from
When all your promises are gone
I'm the only one
Please baby can't you see
I'm trying to explain
I've been here before and I'm locking the door
And I'm not going back again
Her eyes and arms and skin won't make
It go away
You'll wake up tomorrow and wrestle the sorrow
That holds you down today
Go on and hold her till the screaming is gone
Go on believe her when she tells you
Nothing's wrong
But I'm the only one
Who'll walk across the fire for you
I'm the only one
Who'll drown in my desire for you
It's only fear that makes you run
The demons that you're hiding from
When all your promises are gone
I'm the only one
Puck puts his guitar on his back and nods to the directors in an upward way. He walks off the stage, being the final soloist.
"Looks like the duets better be good because those soloist were amazing." Will says.
Artie looks at Will then at the notepad in front of him, "Agreed."
