Luna's pov

"Luna, Luna wake up" An angelic voice stirred me awake
"Mmhm" I mumbled
"She's awake" the voice said, a noise was heard. The harsh light made me finally open my eyes
"Who the fuck is shining the sun in my eyes" I groaned, the light disappeared and was replace with Taylor and Aelia hanging over my face
"Is this heaven?" I questioned
"Oh please, hell is better" Taylor said walking away to grab a bottle water
"Gay facts" get it? Straight? Because we don't do straight here
I chuckled to myself and glanced at the perfect human that leaned against my bed. Her head hung low while she fidgeted with her fingers
"Hi" I whispered, she remained silent
"You're not gonna talk to me?" I questioned
"I don't know what to say" she mumbled
"How about you start with what happened, why am I at home in bed when the last thing I remembered was passing out in school?" I asked.
"There was no earthquake, no one knows where it came from or why it didn't hit anywhere else. It just shook the school, luckily everyone made it out safe but I think Maddy hit her head pretty hard. She's got this crazy amnesia case" Aelia said. I wanted to smile so bad but I contained it
"But how am I here?" I questioned, the last I remembered was a drain.

Aelia's pov
-
Her face, her smile, her touch, her everything. I needed it.
It hasn't been a fucking day and I'm going crazy.
I walked back into class after Luna and I's interesting argument. My heart ached, I wanted to desperately to attach our lips. I needed her arms around me. Luckily I had some sort of self control, it hurt even more when she lied to my face. I felt too drained to feel anything right now. I haven't slept all night.
She knew what she was doing with lex and she got caught. The least you can do is be honest with me.
Was I wrong to feel like I cheated on?
It's stupid. We aren't together but it felt like we were. We just fit so perfectly together, we didn't need a label. We just knew.
I returned back to my seat with my head hung low, my emotions felt scattered. I felt scattered.
"Miss Green, was there any problem?" Miss Sylvester asked
"Um, no, just a minor cold"
"Good, now if you'll pay attention. I was just explaining how the-"
She was interupted when the class lights flickered, I furrowed my brows. The lights continued to flicker until it just stopped
"The hell was that?" someone said from across the room
"Im sure it was a power shortage-"
"AHHH" the room was filled with screams, the lights in the ceiling all shattered one by one. The flakes dropped onto the heads of students below it
"Everyone calm down, it's definitely a power problem" Miss Sylvester said
Everyone remained quiet, the entire hallways was silent. The sound of heavy, anxious breathing was only heard.
Suddenly, the pencils start to shake. At first no-one moves, their brains unable to make sense of the input from their ears and feet. The ground is moving and the noise is like extended thunder only worse because the vibrations are coming from below. Then like a switch has been flicked everyone moves for safety, all of them on the autopilot mode that all consuming fear creates. The walls scream and the lights flicker rapidly before going out all together. Whether we live or die depends on whether the school stands or falls, and either way our fate is a joint one. We'll either walk away hand in hand or perish in the rubble.
"Stay low!" Sylvester yelled, everyone folded into a ball and feared the worse. My heart pounded against my chest, it felt like everything went mute. The ground stopped shaking.
"Let's go, move it! In a line!" Miss Sylvester shouted as she tried to gather us all out of the school. I picked myself up and hurriedly joined the line.
Where is Luna?
My neck did a full 180, my eyes scanned through every panicking teenager there was. I saw Mia and Zack. I turned back around and Lex being carried away by paramedics. The lockers were dented and the wall behind it was cracked. She looked bruised, broken, even drained. What could have caused that? Ugh fuck where is Luna!
In the grip of silent panic, wild eyes, pupils dilated, heart racing, brain on fire. I had a bad feeling about this, she's nowhere to be seen. I craned my neck around but she was nowhere in sight.
I felt like a cluster bomb exploding in my brain, turned my brain to a mental soup of conflicting instructions, brain frozen, brain feeling like it's seized up, shrill scream, running aimlessly, frozen in panic, arms flapping almost comically.
In this moment, I didn't care what we were going through, I needed to know she's okay. Panic continued to wash over me. I almost threw up with my brain feeling like it's been pickled in brine.
"Gym.. She's in the g-ym" Lex said as I walked past her. But.. The gym is where the impact affected most. My heart pounded against my chest. I slipped out of the line and ran. In this moment, I didn't care what she did. I needed to see her.
"Aelia get back here!" Someone yelled, I just didn't care.
I shoved past each student that flooded the halls. It felt like the world stopped spinning and everything went in slow motion.
I scanned the entire gym, no one was around. A wave of disappointment hit me until I heard a faint groan. I furrowed my brows and ran into the lockers. My eyes grew wide as I saw Luna on her back, drained of energy and life. My leaped sunk into my chest.
"Luna!" I yelled, the tears welled in my eyes. There was no response.
I couldn't hold the heartbreak no longer and fell to the floor in a disheveled heap as grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears. My hands cupped her cheek
"Luna!" I screamed. Nothing but a tightening of her throat and a short intake of breath
"Miss Amon!" A dark skinned man bent down to Luna. I remembered his face. James, her bodyguard
"Let's go, we need to take her home" he said as he scooped her body in his arm
I followed him out, he dashed through the back exit. Why did he need to take her home? Doesn't she need a hospital?
"Aren't we going to a hospital?" I questioned
"Some things I cannot say, but she'll be safe, I promise you" James said as he placed her unconscious body in the back seat of the Range Rover. I climed right in and held in, my arms wrapped about her stomach and her head oh my chest.
I feel like I am drowning and there is no hope of being saved. I couldn't lose her, I just couldn't. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me and she deserves to live her life. A natural disaster shouldn't just come out of nowhere and take that away.
The black thoughts of losing Luna start to spread through my mind, clouding my thoughts and taking me to places I never wanted to visit. I press my palms to my ears trying to block out the screams, but it doesn't work. They only grow louder and louder. I just want them to go away. Is that so much to ask?
"Where is she" Taylor's muffled voice came from out the car. Her eyes met mine and she flung the door open
"Fucking hell, what happened!" she hissed at James. He was about to speak but glanced by way. Taylor noticed and nodded.
What the heck? If they know something, why shouldn't I be told?
"No no, don't brush that off. Why can't you just say it was an earthquake because it clearly was" I said confused, Taylor motioned James to take Luna upstairs
"Some things I can't explain, some things you're better off not knowing" What kind of fucked up answer is that?
"But it was an earthquake that did that" I said walking up the stairs with Taylor. She remained silent.
I noticed she had a blue liquid in a bottle. The same one I saw when Luna was first sick. Does Luna have a sickness? Is that what theyre hiding?
James placed Luna's body onto the bed, Taylor took a spoonful of blue liquid and poured it into Luna's mouth. I sat there, looking at the love of my life. Question if I really knew her in the first place.

Luna's pov

"Mia called and gave me an update about what happened, no one knows why or how it happened. It's been a few days since you've been in a coma. Well, I thought it was a coma. Taylor said you're just healing. I don't know what that mean" Aelia said, I nodded and trailed my eyes over her.
She looked tired, baggy eyes, she yawned every few seconds. Her skin looked almost green. I noticed she had on my clothes
"You haven't left here, have you?" I asked, her eyes avoided mine as she shook her head.
"Thank you" I mumbled, I placed my hands on top of hers.
Aelia's eyes looked at our fingers, dare I intertwine them?
Yes, yes I will.
I intertwined ours finger, Aelia took a sharp breath in. Her eyes finally met mine
"Thank you for being here, for even putting your own safety aside to look for me. I don't know what I'd do without you" I mumbled, Aelia's eyes looked glossy.
"Oh no baby, come here" I mumbled and wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling her head into my chest.
Hot tears stained my shirt, her wailing vibrated against my chest.
"I-I could have lost you Luna!" she cried out. My heart broke, never would I put myself in such a position again. I needed to get my powers under control, that for sure.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'm immortal baby" I smirked, I felt her fist hit my chest. I let out a low chuckle
"Stop that, I don't know what I would do without you Luna. I almost lost you and now I don't know how to feel about us" she mumbled
"Aelia listen to me" I said as I brought her face closer to mine
"I will never, and I mean never, do something to hurt you in anyway. I care about you more than anything. You have to believe me" I said
She remained silent, perhaps contemplating what her next words should be. Her eyes flickered down to my lips. I took the opening and pulled her face closer to mine. Her hot breath hovered over my lips. We were just inches apart. I closed my eyes and leaned forward
"I can't-" Aelia said, my eyes flung open. Aelia held her head down
"I just, I can't. I'm sorry. I'm just not ready" she whispered, a tear rolled down her eyes which she quickly wiped away.
"I understand" I mumbled out
"I'm sorry, I have to go-" she pulled herself from the bed
"You don't have to, we could just watch a movie or something. I'll stay over here and I won't even glance at you. Just.. Please don't go" I said pulling the covers off my body, it pained to move but I didn't care
"Some things we can't explain" she said, Aelia looked at me with sadness in her eyes.
"Goodbye Luna"

Some people seem to make it their duty to criticize this book like it's some professional work of art.
I'm an atheist who knows nothing about fantasy or writing books. I just had a random thought about the daughter of the devil being gay and I placed that idea into this book.
I'm not a skilled author, I'm amateur. Nothing is professional about this book. It's literally just random stuff I think of.
Everything in this book is made up. People seem to enjoy it so I continue to write. I find happiness in writing because it distracts me from some stuff I deal with personally.
It's like some people just wait for me to mess up or say one thing wrong so they can criticize it. It only stings a bit because I'm actually passionate about every single word I put into this book. But anyways, good comments or bad, it's still building the book and I can always use feedback to better my writing.
So I apologize if the book doesn't live up to your expectations or the characters doesn't act like everyone else in the world (even tho it's a BOOK and everything is FICTIONAL)
Plus, for every hate comment, there's a whole lot more love and support from others. I love you all and you guys motivate me to write everyday.
