Attack In The Night

By PissingoffHomophobes

Night time came, but no fighting followed. At least not that Theo was aware of. He sat in the livingroom, playing on his phone. Ezra was currently talking with Alfie, leaving him alone. Theo was fine with it since they weren't doing anything at the moment.

He slowly got comfortable in the couch, lying down. It was midnight and he was growing tired, but he was too afraid to sleep. It was mixed feelings. About another 20 minutes passed and Theo heard the door shove open, startling him. He turned to the door, seeing Ezra looking serious.

Theo sat up, putting his phone on the couch. "What's wrong?" Theo asked.

Ezra quickly made his way over to Theo, grabbing his arm. "The scouts spotted them. So I'm going to lock you in the basement." He said, dragging Theo to the basement.

Theo gulped. "Your saying.... they are attacking now? What about you?" Theo asked.

"I'm a werewolf. You're a human. Dont worry, a wolf cant get through this door. Its covered in wolfsbane." He said, shoving Theo into the basement. He leaned down and kissed Theo on the forehead, giving Theo an empty feeling In his chest. "I'll be back. Stay put." He said, closing the door, before locking it.

Theo stared at the door, feeling uneasy about the attack. He knew it was the spark wanting him protected but he couldnt help feeling useless. He wanted to help fight but it didnt look like that was happening anytime soon. This attack really came out of nowhere and that startled him.

Theo sighed, walking down the stairs, he sat on a dusty old table, sitting in the silence. He lost himself in his mind, taking in everything. Everything changed, that was inevitable, but the fact that it changed this drastically scared him.

Just what was the plan they had in mind? Attack and find the ring? Was it even still hidden if he smelled like a wolf?

His question was answered when the glass behind him blasted opened causing him to scream and drop down from the table, falling onto some of the glass, cutting his arm. He quickly regained himself, rushing under the table.

When he was, he spotted 2 people standing by the broken glass, both of them he didn't recognize. He quickly covered his mouth, trying to get his heart to slow.

"I can sense it around here. Are you sure it wasn't upstairs, Juan?" Asked the lighter skinned person.

"Its here. Keep your eyes op-" he paused, his nose turning up as he took a big sniff of the air. Theo paled when Juan smiled. "I can smell blood." He said.

The other one smirked, looking over at the table. Theo knew he was caught. He didn't have time to react when one of them jogged over, grabbing a fistful of Theo's hair, dragging him out from the table. Theo screamed, kicking whoever had grabbed him in the stomach. Not bothering to see which one it was he stumbled to his feet and took off upstairs, ignoring the millions of tiny cuts on his body from being dragged across the floor.

"Get back here, fucker!" Shouted one of them. Theo continued, making it up the stairs, he rammed the door, knowing it was locked. He fell to the floor, looking back at the basement he spotted Juan running up the stairs.

He scooted towards the door, using his legs power he slammed the door, smashing it against his skin. Theo smiled when he heard the scream of pain from the wolfsbain. Quickly he wasted no time. He shot up to his feet, running for the front door, he shoved it opened and was met with a horror show.

Wolves of different colors were fighting in the yard, tearing at each other's coats. He couldn't tell who was who and the amount of blood spilling onto the dirt made his stomach flip.

"Ezra!" Theo shouted, but didn't get the response he wanted. Instead his shirt was pulled back and he was thrown to the floor. Groaning he looked up to see it was Juan and the other one.

"That hurt ya bitch!" Juan snapped, but slowly his face changed when his eyes captured what he was looking for. Theo looked down, noticing the ring had flown out of his shirt. "Look who has the ring, Derek." He smirked.

  Theo gulped.

"Just our lucky day. We get the ring and the bitch." Derek jumped for Theo, reaching for his arm but Theo used his track skills. Using the wall, he slid himself on the hard wooden floor, getting up he ran for the window, shoving it opened. He jumped out, running for the main pack house on the outskirts of the territory. He didn't dare look behind him, knowing full well Derek and Juan would be right behind him.

He felt a weight tackle him against a tree, causing fighting instincts to kick in. He let out a scream.

"Theo! Hey! Stop its me!" Theo knew this feeling and his heart immediately calmed down. He looked up, seeing it was Ezra. He let out a relieved sob, wrapping his arms around Ezra. Ezra ran his hands through Theo's hair, calming him down. "I heard your call and I tried to find you." He whispered, kissing Theo on top of his head.

Theo pulled back, rubbing the tears from his face. "I had two of them on me. I... I managed to fight them off." He chuckled.

Ezra smiled, but his facial expression turned to anger when he spotted the blood running down Theo's arm. Ezra weaved his hand with Theo's, bringing it up to examine the amount of cuts on his arm.

"They broke the window. I happened to get caught on the floor and dragged." Theo whispered.

"I should have stayed with you. The spark was telling me not to leave you but I didn't listen." Ezra cursed under his breath. "Come on. The fighting is dying down." He wrapped his arms around Theo's shoulders, holding him close.

As they emerged from the tree line, Theo had to peel his eyes away from the amount of blood and dead wolves lying around. A few of the people that lived were all bloodied and injured, a few of them looking scarred at the amount of fighting taken place.

A woman walked up to them, though her face didn't look like it held good news. "Eileen, report." Ezra asked.

Eileen looked over at Theo, flinching at the amount of blood surrounding him before looking back at Ezra. "Defiants Pride retreated. We managed to kill at least 30 of the 60 they sent. We... we lost 27." She choked up a bit. "Alfie is... he fought Allen and... he's in bad shape, Ezra."

Ezra quickly made his way into the main pack house with Theo following. Theo nearly stumbled, feeling dizzy from both blood loss and all that has happened tonight. He nearly got caught by other werewolves that most likely would have tortured him. Everytime he thinks about that he shivers.

When they entered the house, Alfie was lying on the couch, with a huge slash deep in his chest and face. Theo nearly hurled at the flesh hanging off of him. The wound was bleeding onto the couch and through the many towels pressed against the heart region. Alfie was wheezing his voice giving Theo shivers.

"Alfie?" Ezra asked, letting go of Theo's hand and dropping to his knees, grabbing Alfie's.

Alfie searched with his good eye, finally landing on Ezra. He smiled through the pain. "I... I lost." He coughed.

Ezra nearly choked. He may have joined this pack late but he always respected Alfie. He knew how to keep them safe and hidden. Plus he gave such amazing advice and allowed them a pack when they had none. Ezra respected him and now he was watching him choke on his own blood.

"You did good." Ezra replied, making Theo flinch at the hurt in his voice.

Alfie shook his head. "I failed the... pack." He shifted, groaning. "Now its time... for another... to take my place." He leaned up, despite Eileen trying to lie him back down. "I made the wrong move by taking the ring. I was blinded by anger. Make it right. Lead the pack better than I did. You and... Theo both." He coughed, wheezing in pain.

Theo couldn't handle watching someone die, his mind bringing him back to the time he was in the hospital. He turned away, making his way out of the house.

Alfie coughed, squeezing Ezra's hand. "You be good to him. Love him with everything and lead the pack to a better future, Ezra. Stand strong with an Alphas pride." Alfie took a deep breath.

Ezra nodded. "I will. You can rest now."

Alfie smiled. "At least I get to see my family again." He whispered.

Those were his final words before his final, painful breath escaped his lips.
