It was a nice summer day. I came back from the ice cream shop where I'm working at. I downloaded a new dating app recently so that's what I checked as soon as I got inside my bedroom.
I unlocked my phone and opened the app. There was a new message from someone.

It made me blush a bit. Me? Cute? No way. I thought of a million different things to say back. But I stuck with the easiest.

Rock bands? Who the hell I'm talking to? I didn't ask which bands he was in. He was probably in bands that never left the garage.

After a month we finally asked for the other's phone number. Which felt like I made a mistake but on the hand I was glad that I could hear the man's voice I've been talking to.
I had ten more minutes left of my shift in the shop when my phone started buzzing like a bee in my pocket.
'There you go.' I handed the little brown haired girl her icy sweetness.
'Thank you.' She smiled and ran off.
Her dad payed for the ice cream and went after her.
'Hello.' I picked up my phone.
'Hi Emily.' Vinnie said. 'What you doing?' He asked.
'I'll finish with work soon. What are you up to?' I asked as I walked back to the locker room.
'Oh. I was gonna ask you something.' He cleared his throat.
'Okay. Ask then.' I put him on speaker while I put down the phone on the bench to unlock my locker.
'I was thinking that, uhm... We should meet sometime.' He said hesitantly.
My eyes diluted from the surprise. He wants to meet. Is it a good thing? I know him better than half a year ago, but still. This would be a new step.
'Emily? Are you there?' His question brought me back.
'Uhm, yes I'm here.' I cleared my throat. 'Sure. Why not.' I agreed.
I was shocked by my boldness.
'Great!' He said. 'When should we meet though?' He asked.
'Uhm... I'm free this Friday. If that's good for you.' I took off my apron.
'I've got things to do on Friday. But Saturday is okay.' He said.
'Oh, okay.' I sighed, locking my locker. 'I work until 2pm on Saturday.' I picked up my phone and put him off of the speaker.
'Where do ya work?' He continued with the questions.
Any other time I would get fed up with lots of questions. But from him it never bother me.
'Sunshine's Sweets.' I told him.
'Oh. It's not too far away from where I live.' He chuckled. 'Well, it will take me half an hour with a car, actually.' He corrected himself. 'I'll be there when you finish work then.' He said.
'Okay dear.' I smiled from ear to ear.
Timeskip
Saturday morning. The day when I finally meet Vinnie. I was anxious since we set the meeting. But I don't know why. I've known him for a few months now.

2pm. Dont forget :)
I sent him a text right before I left my room.
'Morning!' I stepped into the kitchen.
'Morning honey.' My mom greeted me.
'I won't come home after work.' I told her.
'How so?' She furrowed her eyebrows while she poured apple juice into two glasses.
'Remember Vinnie? The man I met on that dating app?' I sat down.
'Yes.' She nodded, handing me one of the glasses.
'I'm gonna meet him after work. So I don't know when I'll come home.' I smiled.
'Oh. Okay honey.' She smiled. 'I'll make some dinner for you two then. In case I won't be home when you get back.' She said.
For you two. Wow. I didn't think she would let me take Vinnie home. But in that case I might ask him.
'Thanks mom. You're the best!' I gave her a hug.
She just laughed. As any mother would. I mean, I'm an adult so she can't forbid me things.
I ate my breakfast then around 10am I left the house after I grabbed my bag from my room. I checked my phone and there was a text from Vinnie.

I thought I would make him our specialty. We don't sell ice cream at the moment but we have delicious cakes and hot chocolate.
I put my bag into my locker and my phone into my pocket. I put on my apron and walked out to the restaurant.
I served every person until I had ten minutes left of my shift. I spent that time making something delicious for Vinnie. Nutella filled brownie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream with strawberry sirup.
'Hi. I'd like order a slice of chocolate cake.' I heard a familiar voice.
I turned around in surprise. I didn't know it was already 2pm.
'Vinnie!' I came out from behind the counter. 'Hi.' I smiled at him.
'You look even more beautiful in person, Emily.' He complimented me.
'Aw, thanks.' I blushed. 'Oh, I forgot. Sit down.' I guided him to a table. 'There you go.' I put down the sweet surprise I made for him.
'You shouldn't have.' He smiled. 'But thanks.' He put his hand on mine.
'I'll be right back. I just need to check out.' I told him.
I went back to the locker room quickly. I took off my apron and grabbed my bag from the locker. I checked myself in the mirror then I went out to Vinnie.
He looked so good sitting there. He looked around and caught my eyes just in time. I immediately looked down on the floor to hide that he made me blush.
I slowly walked to his table and sat down. We talked about literally everything that came to our minds. After an hour he told me which rock bands he was in which completely surprised me. I didn't know he was in KISS. Guess I need to listen to them now.
We left Sunshine's Sweets around 3:30pm and we went for a walk in the park. Talked about music, work and stuff like that. Then around 7pm he took me home with his car. He walked me up to the door where he finally kissed me. I was hesitant at first to kiss him back but I did. I mean I had nothing to loose.
I then invited him into the house where we ate lasagna that mom made for us and he left soon after it.
He didn't want to get me in any trouble which I adored.

I texted him back. Then I put down my phone and went to take a shower. Damn I wish I could live with this man.
