TRIGGER WARNINGS : guns, deaths
Patton POV
"It's been a long day," I sighed, swinging Emile and I's hands between each other.
"You can say that again," Emile laughed.
"It's been a long day," I repeated jokingly.
"I'm not getting involved in another one of these loops," Emile said sternly but he was smiling.
School got shut down because of Coronavirus so Emile and I are doing more friends hangouts. It's been fun just hanging out like how we used to before we both started dating.
I'm not looking forward to starting online school tomorrow, so Emile and I have been trying to hang out. We got coffee first, which has become a sort of tradition when we hang out.
Almost everything is already shut down so it's just coffee and the park. Well, we're waiting for Evan to show up. The third member to the Three Beansqueteers.
"Remy wants to isolate himself in my bedroom," Emile said, sitting down at one of the outside tables. "Claims he doesn't need a deadly virus to self quarantine himself but he'll 'suffer' and stay inside anyways."
"But you love him," I teased, making Emile smile and blush a bit. "And I know you well enough that you absolutely love the idea."
"Okay, yes I do," Emile admitted with a laugh. "But I will loose my mind if I have to stay inside for the next three weeks."
"Agreed," I sighed. "Logan can lock himself inside with his books but I can't do it. I need to see all my kiddos and make sure they're okay."
"I'm sure everyone will be okay," He laughed. "And you can just text someone." Emile's eyes darted behind me for a second and he smirked a bit.
I was about to turn around but that's when someone grabbed my shoulders and yelled 'boo!' in my ear. I squeaked in shock and practically fell out of my chair.
"Sorry Patton," Evan laughed, giving me a hug.
"You practically gave me a heart attack," I said, laughing about it now.
Evan sat down next to me, still laughing a bit. Emile handing him the cup of tea we got him ahead of time.
"I'm so sorry Patton," Evan said again. "I just couldn't help myself."
"That was hilarious," Emile laughed.
"You two are so mean," I teased.
"Oh you love us," Emile said lovingly.
"Well, you two are my best friends," I told them. "And Remy...and Virgil...well Roman too...and obviously Logan but he's my boyfriend...and of course Quinn and Damien and Remus too."
"Oh my goodness we broke him," Emile laughed.
Evan was about to say something when someone walked out of the coffee shop. They were crying but obviously trying not to show it. Luckily, we were the only people around since of the whole virus thing.
The person sat down in the corner stared at the floor for a few seconds, and then slammed their head into the table.
We all jumped a bit in shock and exchanged confused glances. But then Evan tilted his head and seemed to realize something.
"Emery?" Evan asked.
The person raised their head and hatred filled his eyes. He had heterochromia and it was honestly beautiful. One blue and one green.
"Oh my gosh," The guy hissed. "Why you?"
"What did I do?" Evan asked, clearly distressed.
"You're Evan, one of Damien's boyfriends," He said lowly.
"Yeah, we met yesterday," Evan continued, now confused.
"Wait no you're the nice one," Emery sighed, starting to cry again.
Evan got up and went over to Emery. He sat down next to him and Emile and I followed quickly.
"Okay, I'm Patton and this is Emile," I introduced us to Emery. "And you are?"
"Emery Lambe," Emery said. "And it's a long story. Also nice to see you again Emile, I hope Remy's doing okay. Anton wants to hang out with him."
"I'll let him know," Emile said.
"Woah," I laughed. "I'm obviously very out of the loop."
"This is Remy's cousin from Florida," Emile explained.
"And a lot more but it's a long story," Emery sighed.
"We got all day," Emile told him.
"I'm from Florida, I went to school with Damien, I was a dumb freshman that had a crush on him and obviously annoyed him to the point that he decided to ram my head repeatedly into a locker," Emery said with a passive aggressive tone. "I came here with my boyfriend Anton."
"Oh, well that's a lot," I sighed.
"A lot of trauma," Emery laughed before starting to cry again.
"Okay, what's wrong?" Evan asked.
"Your other boyfriend, tall with the creepy mustache," Emery questioned.
"That's Remus," Evan answered.
"He's scary and mean and he yelled at me about upsetting Damien," Emery cried. "It was like twenty minutes ago, he just stopped me in the street to yell at me. Did I upset Damien?"
"He was upset after your visit yesterday," Evan said slowly. "But Remus should not have done that."
"I wanna go home," Emery mumbled. "But I can't. I can't go back to Florida. My parents won't let me since they found out about Anton. I want Anton."
"Where is he?" I asked. "You could call him or something."
"No, Anton will get made and go on one of his rants," Emery sighed. "I suck at standing up for myself so if Anton finds out he'll give me one of his long speeches about how amazing I am and then go fight the person that upset me."
"Well surely that's not too bad," I told him.
"Maybe..." Emery mumbled.
"Okay," Emile said. "We'll walk you back home, to Anton."
"That'd be nice," Emery said, wiping away his tears. "Thank you. Why are you three so nice?"
"No one knows," I laughed. "Now c'mon."
I pulled Emery up and slipped my arm around his. I led the way back to the sidewalk, Evan and Emile following.
The talking fell away into silence. This gave me time to think about what just happened. Everything that just happened was confusing.
Emery is Remy's cousin. Emery is also a friend of Damien's...who he traumatized by ramming Emery's head into a locker. It seems he's be kicked out of his house and sent up here because of dating another guy...named Anton.
He also seems to be extremely emotional and open about his feelings and issues and past. Also really sensitive. But also empathetic.
"Hey faggots!" Screamed a voice, shocking me from my thoughts and actually making me jump.
I turned quickly to see Jackson standing in the alleyway. He looked high and angry. His hands were in his hoodie pockets but I don't doubt that he'd try to hit us.
"Who's that?" Emery whisper-asked me.
"Jackson," I whispered. "C'mon lets go."
"You're not going anywhere," Jackson growled. "We have some things to discuss."
No one said anything. We were all too afraid. We're basically just sitting ducks because if we run, we know that he'll catch us.
"So there's a new kid," Jackson purred. "Not got like Roman. And it doesn't look like you deal. So you're usually. Fuck off."
Emery whimpered slightly, clearly confused and scared. He shouldn't be here. Jackson isn't his issue to deal with.
"I don't like being ignored," Jackson growled. "Quinn learned that the hard way. He sure didn't liked being buried alive in the snow. And I don't like Issac being in jail."
"He belongs there," Evan couldn't help himself when it came to Remus's abusive ex.
"Remus deserves to feel my pain," Jackson said. "So I'll take someone he cares about deeply from him."
Jackson pulled a small handgun from his hoodie pocket and pointed it at Evan. He looked insane. We all flinched backwards. A painful jolt of fear filled me.
"Jackson," I tried to say calmly. "Put the gun down."
"Shut the fuck up Patton!" Jackson screamed. "No one fucking likes you! You're such an emotional crybaby!"
"Jackson, just calm down," Evan tired this time but his voice was shaky. "Please, put the gun down."
"Feel my pain Remus," Jackson growled and fired the gun.
I didn't even register stepping in front of Evan. My body just reacted. I wanted to protect him. I heard the sound and felt the kick from the shot before the horrible pain in my chest.
