The initiates walked in, sleepy eyed, and barely awake...until they saw us standing by a board, with Christina and Uriah. They all rushed to the board, transfers and Dauntless-born, eager to see the results.

A lot of them look happy, while Ally looks murderous. A few of the ones lower in the ranks look sad, until I announce, "There will be no cuts from Dauntless this year, but a higher rank does mean a better job. The top 10 will be given jobs here, while the rest will be given fence guard jobs."
All of them are stunned, and then break out into grins. Except, Ally seems to be grinning maniacally. Come on. Why couldn't we have just cut her?
