GO CHECK OUT THE FIRST CHAPTER OF TALES FROM FOX FOREST

TRIGGER WARNINGS :

Remy POV
"Nope can't do this,"  I sighed, leaning my forehead on the steering wheel.

"We're almost there,"  Emile said gently, sliding his hand into mine.  "You said you wanted to meet him."

"I should've known that if he still lived in town he'd fucking live in Roman's neighborhood!" I yelled, looking back up at the entrance to the neighborhood.

The neighborhood full of rich people. And my real father. Who still lives extremely close and never cared. I wonder if he knew I existed before today.

"We don't have to do this than," Emile told me. "We can go back home."

"No," I sighed, sitting back up. "I want to meet the guy that didn't care enough to stay."

Emile didn't say anything, sighing slightly. I don't think he's too happy with having to come along on family business. But I couldn't do this without him.

I forced myself to start the car again and drive into the neighborhood. It took a while considering how big this neighborhood is and how far apart the houses are spread, but eventually we reached the address Mr. Boduleir gave me.

He also said he called ahead to let my father know I'd be coming today. I don't know much about him except that his name is Spencer Alderidge, he's married and has four kids. Besides me.

I'm the bastard child. The mistake. The one he probably tried to forget about until recently. He's just another person who's life I've fucked up.

The house was huge. That was the first thing I noticed when I pulled into the driveway.  It was a huge white house with black accents.  Large windows and a big front porch.  A nicely manicured lawn and garden.  It had to be three stories.

"This is gonna be difficult,"  I mumbled.

"I'll be right here the entire time,"  Emile told me.  "And if you want to leave at any point, we'll leave."

"Thanks,"  I whispered.  "For coming with me."

"It's okay,"  He said.  "It'll be okay."

"I hope so,"  I sighed, forcing myself to get out of the car.

I walked up to the front door, Emile trailing behind me.  He slid his hand into mine as I rang the doorbell.

A few seconds later, a man answered.  He looked kinda old but still good looking and healthy for his age.  Probably I'm his fifties.  He had dark back hair that was starting to grey, kind looking green eyes and a little scruff of a beard across his chin.  He was wearing fairly laid back clothes, jeans and a nice black t-shirt.

Not was I was excepting.  I was thinking it'd be a Karen and a Chad with the perfect dynamic family.  A son and daughter, both cisgender and heterosexual.

"I'm guessing you're Remy,"  He said in a low voice.  His voice also had a kind tint to it.

"Yep, that's me,"  I answered, sliding my sunglasses onto my head.

"And who's this?"  He asked, looking behind me to Emile.

"I'm Emile Picani,"  Emile introduced himself.  "I'm Remy's boyfriend."

"Oh,"  He said in a surprised voice.  "Well, you two come on in, and we'll have a discussion.  My name's Spencer Alderidge, if you didn't already know."

"I knew,"  I mumbled, following him inside.

The inside of the house looked like a modern rustic mouton lodge.  Lots of greys, white, black, blues and browns.  Faux fur and antlers.  A very aesthetic home.

We passed through the foyer with a huge marble staircase and down a hallway.  All along the hallway were picture.  A family of six and all looked happy.

Spencer, since I refuse to refer to this man as my father or respect his authority in any way, opened a glass door that led into a very nice and expensive looking dinning room.

There was the rest of the family.  I'm even more thankful to Emile for coming with me.  Despite the mask of calm I kept on the face, my heart was pounding with fear.

A woman sat on one side of the table. She had long blonde hair in perfect waves. She was without makeup yet she still remained pretty. Besides a few wrinkles starting to set in. She had deep brown eyes, more like mine. She was wearing a white t-shirt and a long coffee brown cardigan. Probably black leggings too.

She made me suddenly self conscious of my clothing choices for today. My ripped black skinny jeans, combat boots, a white shirt and my leather jacket. A face with eyeliner, contour, and red lipstick.

I'm now even more glad for Emile. He talked me out of dressing like a total gay drag queen. Mini skirt, crop top, heels and all. I'm glad I went for my grunge look.

Emile was wearing light blue jeans, a pink t-shirt and a brown cardigan. His pastel galaxy converse on too.

"This is my wife, Eleanor," Spencer introduced her, resting his hands on her shoulders.

"Please sit," She said, motioning to the seats across from her and her children. "Than we'll talk all this through."

I sat down across from her and next to the head of the table where Spencer sat down. Emile sat next to me and we quickly joined hands beneath the table.

There were four children. The oldest, a boy who I recognized as Hunter. One of Roman's old friends. Black hair, brown eyes, tall and muscular. In a stereotypical white boy douche bag outfit. Sweatpants and a hoodie while sitting on his phone with AirPods in one ear.

"I thought there was only one other son,"  Eleanor whispered to her husband.

"This is Emile, my boyfriend,"  I said loudly.

"I told you this Remy guy was one of the freaks in the gay club of losers at school,"  Hunter laughed.

"Well maybe if you got your head out of your popular ass and made your own opinions, you'd know we aren't that bad,"  I told him.  "And you kicked Roman out of your group the second you found out he was gay."

"See what I mean!"  Hunter yelled angrily.

"Okay, enough of this,"   Spencer said.  "I'm guessing you three are already acquainted from school."

"Unfortunately,"  I grumbled.  We glared at each across the table.  Emile looked extremely uncomfortable.

"Listen, I don't appreciate that kind of language in my house,"  Eleanor said.  "Especially around the younger children."

"Look, I just want to know why you abandoned me with that bitch of a mother and then I'll leave,"  I told Spencer.

"Ashley...she was..."  Spencer sighed.

"A bitch,"  I finished for him.

"Don't say that about your mother,"  Spencer defended her.

"When was the last time you actually saw her?"  I asked.

"Not since before you were born,"  He sighed.  "Anyways...before we unpack all of that, I'd like to introduce my other children."

"My second eldest, my daughter, Olivia,"  Spencer motioned to the girl sipping from a hydro flask.

She's a total VSCO girl.  The acrylic nails, the messy bun, the way too large sweatshirt, the barely visible shorts, the hydro flask and the scrunchies.

"And the twins, Zack and Ella,"  He motioned to the two at the end of the table.  They had to be, like, twelve years old.

Both blond hair but the girls had green eyes and the boy had brown eyes.  The girl had on a pink sundress while the boy had on black basketball shorts and an orange t-shirt.

"So, back to why I'm here,"  I said, not really caring about my half siblings.  "How and why?"

"The how, is a long story,"  Spencer sighed.

"I got all day,"  I smirked.  "I wanna hear this sob story."

"You're not going to be happy about this,"  He tried for warm me.

"I'm depressed as shit and I already don't like you, so I don't care,"  I said angrily.

"Well, this was after Eleanor and I were married,"  Spencer sighed.  "Ashley was a barmaid at the club in the city.  I went there often and I didn't know she was a high school student at the time.  We ended up having sex and when she told me she was pregnant with you...I just left.  I stopped going to that club and I did everything to avoid her."

"Wow,"  I laughed.  "I always thought my dad was a douche bag, and it turns out I was right."

"Yes, I know I made a mistake," Spencer said. "I shouldn't have cheated on my wife. I shouldn't have just abandoned you like I did. I should've came clean years ago."

I didn't really know what to say anymore. I always knew I was a mistake but...wow...this really puts it into perspective. I really was a mistake. Mom wasn't lying to me all these years.

"It is my understanding that she's dead now, correct?" Spencer asked after a few moments of silence.

"Yeah, bad car crash, she was drunk again," I told him.

"Remy, I'm sorry," Spencer said. "I know I was a horrible father, hell I wasn't even there to begin with."

"Look, just...save the apologies," I sighed. "I know the truth now, so I'll just leave now. I can see you have a good life here with this family. I'm not going to ruin this one too."

"Wait, please," Spencer pleaded before I could stand up. "I just want to know a few more things."

"Fine," I grumbled. I wanted to cross my arms over my chest but there's no way in hell I'm letting go of Emile's hand.

"You mentioned that Ashley was a horrible mom," He said gently. "What did she do?"

"Where do I start?" I mumbled. "She was a prostitute for starters. So she was either never home or I wasn't allowed home. We were homeless till I was in high school. And even then, it was still a horrible run down house. Broken kitchen, no heating or AC. She was a druggie and a drunk. She was extremely abusive, verbally and physically. I got scars to show if you don't believe me. She kicked me out when she met Emile. And she always told me that I was a mistake, and I guess that's true."

"I wish I could fix all that," Spencer said. "Make it show you didn't have to deal with that."

"It's a little too late," I whispered.

"I understand you don't seem keen on our family," Eleanor said. "But you've been through enough trauma. Our house will always be open to you."

"Thanks I guess but I don't want anything," I told her.

"Good, we don't want your faggot kind around here," Hunter growled. Before Spencer or Eleanor could freak out, I did first.

"You make no fucking sense," I told him. "You defend Roman to Jackson when he first tried to defend Virgil but the second you learned he was gay, you turned on him."

"I don't want to be around you," Hunter told me.

"Join the group, because you aren't the only one," I couldn't help but laugh.

"Hunter go to your room," Spencer said. "All of you children."

"What?!" He yelled. "But the bastard son gets to stay?!"

"Hunter," Eleanor said sternly. "You aren't taking this seriously."

He glared at his parents for a few seconds before turning and following his siblings away from the room.

"Remy, again, I'm so sorry this happened like how it did," Spencer said. "I'm a horrible father and I understand if you just want to walk away. But, please, I'd like to start to get to know my son."

I don't believe this bullshit. I'm extremely angry. With everyone and everything. Except Emile.

"You had your chance nineteen years ago," I told him before getting up and leaving.
