3 months after, paparazzi photos of us surfaced in the internet...

I don’t know where these pictures are coming from; it feels like cameras are all around us, no matter how private the place is. But we don’t care at all, we already passed that stage.
Viva Management received invites from showbiz talk shows to have my statement regarding this issue. It is the talk of the town for almost a month now – in broadsheets or tabloid, name it.

Then here comes the promo of my movie with Gerald where I have to guest in ‘The Buzz’ for promotion.
Tito Boy: Ang tambalang ilang taon nating hinintay na magsama muli sa isang proyekto, Gerald and Sarah, welcome to ‘The Buzz’!
Gerald & Sarah: Thank you Tito Boy.
Kris: What’s the title of your movie?
Gerald: ‘If ever you’re in my arms again.’
Kris: Title pa lang, bongga na.
Tito Boy: Can you tell us what the concept of this movie is? What’s the story?
Gerald: Si Sarah is a kindergarten teacher ditto, and then one of her student is my niece. We fell in love kaso nambabae ako eventually---
*Audience reacts*
Kris: Naka-relate ng bongga yung audience natin (then giving her signature laugh). Okay, tuloy...
Gerald: Yung character ko realized Sarah’s worth nung nawala na siya sa akin.
Kris: Ganyan talaga ang mga lalaki nu?
Sarah: Tama! Haha.
Tito Boy: Do you have any experience like that, Gerald?
Gerald: Si Tito Boy talaga... Syempre, may mga nagawa tayo in the past...
Kris: Prangkahan na, did you tried to win her back during the shooting of your movie? Kasi ‘di ba, hiwalay pa sila ni Matteo nun.
Gerald: Paano ko ba ‘to sagutin?! Uhmm... yeah I tried, just a bit...
*Audience reacts again*
Gerald: But you know... You just feel when someone’s taken. Not necessarily she has to be in a relationship at that time but I know there’s no chance at all. Kung meron man, sobrang liit.
Tito Boy: And you did not hold on to that tiny or little chance?
Gerald: I saw how she’s in love kasi... like she never loved me before.
*Oww....* (Audince cheers)
Kris: Parang ang awkward na nandito si Sarah. Kaloka! Haha.
Tito Boy: O sige, balik tayo dun sa story ng movie. Ano naman yung struggles ng character mo, Sarah?
Sarah: Yung journey niya is... how to find love inside her heart... out of all the hurt she’s gone through.
*Kris is all smiles*
Sarah: Bakit po? (Pertaining to Kris)
Kris: Wala lang... I just realized you realy live your character.
At natawa rin si Sarah dahil na-gets niya ang ibig sabihin ni Kris.
Kris: Sige, continue mo yung sinasabi mo.
Sarah: Yung character ko po... Yung journey niya is kung paano mahanap yung forgiveness inside her to give herself a chance on happiness.
Kris: Lalim! Nhirapan ka bang i-internalize yung character mo?
Sarah: Honestly, hindi po masyado...Hihi! (Natawa na naman sa sarili) (Author’s Note: Minsan may pagkabaliw talaga itong si Sars nu?)
Tito Boy: Sarah, you’re most beautiful today, you seem very happy.
Sarah: Siyempre dapat lagi tayong happy, Tito Boy.
Kris: Diretsahan na! Is it about the pictures rounding the net lately?
*Sarah just smiled sweetly*
Kris: Ano na? We’re waiting... Did you get back together?
Sarah: Yes po.
Tito Boy: Kinilig ako! Totoo!
Kris: Ito boy, sobrang confident na talaga ni Sarah simula nang maging sila ni Matt. Positive change!

6 months after...
Matt’s POV
As I was thinking on how we could celebrate our 3rd year anniversary, I remembered her gift for me on our 1st Anniversary – the coupons.
I haven’t redeemed yet the 6th and the 7th, of course.

*Ting* Bright idea popped out.
I take her out in a dinner date and showed her the coupon while beaming a big smile on my face.
She looked at me with confusion.
Matt: I don’t want it to get expired. Redemption time, Love.
Sarah: Matt...
I know it will be hard for her to get her parent’s permission but I know my girlfriend well. For her, a promise is a promise.
For almost 8 times her parents rejected the idea and they invited me to their abode to discuss it to me and to reiterate their disapproval on our plan. But we kept our straight face on; Sarah is a very strong woman now, very trustworthy to her words that made me loved her much more.
We almost lose our hope on getting their approval when her Dad, Tito Delfin asked me to meet him in their abode, just the two of us. He opened one glass of wine, we talked about several things until we got to the reason why we have to talk.
Daddy D: Matt, alam mo naman siguro kung gaano namin kamahal yang si Sarah.
Matt: Opo, alam na alam ko po.
Daddy D: Alagang-alaga namin yan ng Mommy niya. Nagseselos na nga yung ibang kapatid niya kasi iba daw yung atensiyon na binibigay naming kapag sa kanya.
Tiningnan niya ako ng mata sa mata pero hindi ako nagpatinag at tumingin din ako. Wala akong dapat ikatakot dahil mabuti naman ang instensiyon ko sa anak nila.
Daddy D: Didiretsuhin na kita. Hindi namin kayo mapayagan dahil ayaw naming sumugal. Ayaw kong hindi mapangalagaan ang anak ko ang sarili niya sa sobrang pagmamahal sa isang lalaki.
Matt: Nirerepeto ko po ang anak niyo, Tito.
Daddy D: Wala akong tiwala sa’yo... Lalaki din ako, hijo... Alam kong sinasabi mo yan dahil ako ang ama ng girlfriend mo.
Matt: Pati po ba sa anak ninyo, wala kayong tiwala? (Hindi ko napigilang sabihin pero sa mahinahon na paraan naman.)
Daddy D: Sobra-sobrang magmahal ang batang ‘yan.Kaya niyang isakripisyo kahit na ano para sa taong mahal niya. Doon ako natatakot.
Matt: Tito. (Tiningnan ko siya ng mata sa mata.) Alam ko pong dapat hindi ko hinihingi ito pero... Trust me on this one. Kapag hindi ko po napangalagaan ang anak niyo sa ‘trip’ na ‘to, tanggalan niyo na po ako ng karapatan sa anak niyo. May karapatan na po kayong ilayo siya sa akin.
Natigilan siya sa sinsabi ko.
Matt: Above me, you should trust her much more. She lives by the word of God, you raised her that well.
Daddy D: Panghahawakan ko yang sinabi mo. Ibalik mo ng buo ang anak ko. (Sabay hawak ng mahigpit sa braso ko).
Did he just give his approval in our trip?
(Insert author’s comment: English kasi yung last na sinabi mo Matt... Napa-‘yes’ na lang tuloy si Daddy!)

2 days before our 3rd anniversary, we are bound for our flight to Amsterdam.
Sinundo ko siya sa kanila para isang sasakyan na lang kami. We’re so excited about this trip and still can’t believe this is happening. Our dreams are coming true... little by little.
Hinatid siya ng Daddy at Mommy niya hanggang sa sasakyan. Nakitang namumula yung mata ni Tita, mukhang kakagaling lang nito sa iyak. Pinilit lang kasi siya ni Tito na pumayag.
Mommy D: Anak... (Umiiyak na uli ito na parang hindi ko na ibabalik si Sarah sa kanila)
Sarah: Mommy, sige na po... 5 days lang kami dun. Good girl po ako. Promise na promise.
Daddy D: Matt! Yung usapan natin.
Matt: Copy, Sir! Thank you.
Amsterdam, here we come!

Siyempre! Hindi pwedeng hindi natin isama ang dream ni Matt na mag-lock silang sabay ni Sarah ‘ di ba? Basta siguraduhin mo Matt na ‘lock’ talaga yun tinutukoy mo ha!
