Chapter 5- Focus Lia

By MyAngelJustin

Sitting on my couch, not even looking at the TV that played a random show, I stared out of the big window behind it questioning myself as I waited for Justin.

I still hadn’t even tried to object to going out with him today, I never even tried to talk to him after Adriana had left me to question what exactly I was thinking. I didn’t see him after we danced. Adriana had dragged me to the dance floor for the rest of the night.

The more I kept telling myself I shouldn’t even be going out with him, it still didn’t make a big enough impact on me to change that. I was just pissing myself off more and more.

Knocking on my door drew me out of my deep thoughts making me slightly jump and the sudden noise. Turning off the TV I got up to get the door.

“I know you’re trying to act like you want nothing to do with me and all but I don’t think I could have made you look so dull.” Justin chuckled.

“Gee thanks.”

“Come on, we’re gonna put a smile on that face.” He said wrapping his arm around my waist after I shut the door, guiding me to the elevator.

“This is bribery and corruption.” I mumbled as the door of the elevator closed.

“You know, not everything I do is to get you to agree to me.”

I raised a quizzical brow at him, “You’re lying through the skin of your teeth.”

“Lia.” Justin smiled, giving me a look as to say ‘You know that’s not true’.

I huffed. This fourteen floor ride was more like fifty. The elevator halted making me grab the rail behind me, looking to Justin, I watched him remove his finger from the emergency stop button.

“What are you doing?”

“ Something’s wrong, what is it?”

Taken back by the question, I stood there not knowing what to say. How am I suppose to explain that I’m getting more angry with myself because I don’t know why I’m not thinking straight when it comes to him.

I shouldn’t be standing here with him let alone going out with him.

But I was.

I was setting myself up for disaster. If other rival gangs, or even Justin’s gang saw a girl hanging out with him that would cause chaos for me. They would start getting information on me-which would already be bad enough- then they could try to use me to get to him.

“It’s nothing.” I lied.

“That’s bullshit, Lia.”

“Can we please just go?”

:”No.” He crossed his arms.

“Justin, please?”

“Not until you tell me.”

“I’m just trying to figure something out that’s all.” I sighed.

“Wanna talk about it?” He offered.

I shook my head. He was the cause of it. I couldn’t ask him for help.

He stepped towards me grabbing my hand and pulled me into his chest. Confused by what he was doing I looked up at him with wide eyes as he wrapped his arms around me.

“Smile. I don’t wanna take you out if you’re upset.” He’s voice vibrated softly.

Mustering up all the energy, I gave him the most awful, fakest smile you could ever think of.

“What the hell is that?” He laughed.

“I’m smiling!”

“No, that looks like you just stepped in dog shit. Try again.”

In the same second I found myself looking away from him as a genuine laugh escaped my mouth.

“Much better.” He chuckled, pecking my cheek, releasing me from his strong hold and pressed the button to get the elevator to move again.

“You’re annoying.” I bit my lip trying to cover my smile.

“But you’re still here. Obviously I haven’t annoyed you enough.”

Finally reaching the lobby, Justin lead the way to his car and we both got in.

“Your mood actually affected the weather.” Justin said starting the car, pulling off down the road. The skies were gloomy and grey, it was about to start raining any second.

“I can’t help how I feel around you.” I played along.

“You love being me around me.” He said arrogantly.

“So, where are you planning on dragging my unlucky self too?”

“Guess you’ll have to wait and see.”

After twenty minutes of endless driving we finally came to a stop. The sign flashed brightly in the misty weather reading ‘Tattoo parlour’.

The rain had died down along the ride but I could tell the weather was just going to get colder.

“A tattoo shop?” I questioned unbuckling the safety belt getting out of the car and stepping onto the wet tar with my boot.

“Yeah, I have an appointment.” Justin said while we walked to the entrance.

“So I get to watch you in pain? I don’t think you could have picked anything better.” I joked.

He looked over at me shaking his head with a smile as he pulled the door open for me to walk in first.

Soft music played while many buzzes sounded from the tattoos people were getting done. I followed Justin to the front desk, the guy behind it typed in a few things while Justin told him who he was.

“Follow me.” The guy behind the desk- Sean I think his name was- said.

“Any ideas of what you’re getting?” Sean asked, directing Justin to take a seat on the big tattooing chair and pulling up a little stool for me.

Justin pulled a piece of paper from his pocket handing it to Sean. “Exactly like that and I want it down my neck.” He pointed to the area.

Sean nodded, “Cool, I’m gonna go draw it up for you. Give me a couple minutes.’ He said before disappearing somewhere else.

“You’re getting it on your neck? That’s very bold of you.”

“What can I say, I’m an impressive guy.”

I scoffed, “Whatever.”

“Do you have any tattoos?” Justin asked.

I nodded, “One.”

“Really? Let me see it.”

“Not gonna happen.” I crossed my legs. I was most definitely not going to go topless in the middle of a tattoo shop along with being in front of Justin too.

My tattoo was special to me and nobody else needed to see it besides myself. If someone did see it one day, it would mean that I had completely let them in because not only does seeing my tattoo involve in my top and bra coming off it would mean they would know about my parents and everything that came along with that story. I don’t plan on anyone coming so deep into my world anytime soon though, especially because of who I am.

“Why not?”

“Because it involves in me removing my clothes.” I blatantly replied.

“I’m fine with that.”

“Of course you are.” I mumbled just as Sean came back.

Sean began to prepare Justin’s neck, giving him a mirror to see if the placement was okay. After Justin had agreed he began setting up the ink and tattoo gun.

“Ready?” He asked Justin.

“Yeah.”

The tattoo gun buzzed as Sean began to work on Justin’s neck. Justin tensed and pulled his face at the needles stabbing away at his skin. His eyes were clenched shut until he finally reopened them looking directly at me.

I watched him lift his hand and hold it out.

I laughed softly knowing exactly what he wanted as I shifted my stool forward a few inches away from him and slid my hand into his. His hand covered my small one and he gripped it slightly.

“I must say, I never thought you would drag me out with you so I could watch you be a little baby.”

“It hurts like a bitch.”

My lips involuntarily turned up sending him warming smile. At the same moment my free hand subconsciously began dragging my finger nails lightly over the back of his hand to comfort him.

I only actually realised what I was doing when I saw Justin look down at our hands then back at me and smile but I didn’t stop.

Finally after some time the buzzing stopped and Sean said Justin could check it out, pointing to the mirror on the wall.

Justin thanked him while standing on his feet pulling me up with him and taking me to the mirror.

“Patience?” I glanced over at the ink letters trailing down his neck.

“You need patience to get the things you want.” He admired his new tattoo in the mirror. It was meaningful in our situation because of him waiting for me to finally agree to him. Maybe that was part of why he wanted me to come with him but I wasn’t going to bring it up.

“It looks good. I would say you did it like a champ, but you’re still holding my hand.” I pointed out.

“Maybe…” He released my hand out of the five year old grip we had and replaced it by threading his fingers through mine. “I enjoy holding it.”

Rolling my eyes I left my hand in his as he walked back to Sean letting him cover the tattoo up before thanking him and paying for it.

“So where to next?” I looked out the glass door as the rain bucketed down from the sky.

“Are you ready?” Justin grinned mischievously, pulling open the door and squeezing my hand that was still interlocked with his.

“For wha- No! Oh my god! Justin.” I whined as he sprinted pulling me behind him in the heavy rain. To my utter dismay he didn’t stop at the car, he kept going, running to the big field across the road filled with grass, bushes and trees.

“I hate you so much!” I yelled over the loud rain when we finally came to a stop. The wind whipped my hair around and my whole body was drenched. Thank god I put on waterproof mascara this morning. I would be looking like I belonged in the zoo with the pandas right now.

“A little rain won’t do any harm.” Justin’s hair was now over his forehead dripping on his face. He was soaking wet just like I was.

“It's freezing.” I pouted wrapping my arms around my body trying to get some sort of warmth.

“Let’s go back to Max’s apartment.” He smiled nodding his head in the direction of the car.

“Wow, was this all just a ploy to get me to come home with you?” I lifted my eyebrows walking with him back to the car.

“No, I just thought you could handle a bit of rain.” He teased.

“The rain I can handle,” I said defensively. “It’s the cold that is tearing away at my skin.”

We both got into the car and Justin started it, driving back to the apartment. I couldn’t help but shiver every now and then along the way.

I looked over to Justin while my teeth chattered vigorously. He was focused solely on the road. The rain didn’t seem to calm itself because thunder and lightning was now erupting around us.

I couldn’t understand how he wasn’t dying on his leather seat from his wet clothes. Justin noticed my stares at him. He glanced over at me for a second then turning back to the road, chuckling at the state of myself. My body was prepared to nearly start convulsing.

“What?”

“You seem cold.”

“No shit, Sherlok. I’m not shaking in my seat for my health.”

Another annoying laugh left Justin’s throat while he parked in a parking spot outside the apartment block. We both exited the car and jogged through the rain into the building and elevator. Justin pressed the button to the twelfth floor and I followed pressing the button to number fourteen.

“You’re not going home yet,” Justin said gaining my attention. “You’re meant to be spending the day with me, and since you can’t handle the cold we’re going to the apartment.”

“I’m sopping wet, I need to change.”

“I’ll give you something.” He stated firmly.

I let out a heavy sigh. The elevator soon stopped and the doors opened with a chime. I followed behind Justin watching him unlock the apartment door and step inside.

“Is Max home?” I asked, walking behind him and into his room.

“No, he has class.” Justin started rummaging through his drawers that were set against the wall at the bottom of his bed. The room was plain with windows on the right wall and a bathroom on the left, a bed was placed in the dead centre with white covers brightening up the room. Sneakers lined across the floor under the window and chains of various styles were on the top of the wooden chest of drawers.

You could tell he knew how to look after himself and his things.

“Here.” He handed me a big black hoodie.

“You do know I don’t have pants or anything right?”

“Yeah and?” He said grabbing a towel from the rail in the bathroom and began drying his hair.

“I’m freezing, and my legs are gonna be out in the open.”

“I’ll get you a blanket.”

“I can just go back to my apartment and get my own clothes.” I put the piece of clothing onto his bed shivering making more and more water droplets fall off my body and onto the floor.

“How do I know if you’re not gonna come back?”

“Justin, I’m not trying to run away from you. If I didn’t want to hang out with you I wouldn’t have opened my front door when you came to pick me up.”

“So you enjoy hanging out with me?” He smirked.

I grunted throwing my hands up, grabbing the hoodie off his bed, went into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. I wasn’t even going to try and argue about it, I needed to get these clothes off before I died of hyperthermia.

Stripping from everything besides my underwear, I grabbed a towel drying my body and hair. Once I was done I pulled the baggy hoodie over my head. It just covered my ass reaching near my mid thigh.

As I folded my clothes up neatly on the sink top, an idea popped up in my head. Even though I was still freezing my ass off and Justin was such a hard headed jerk, I could try messing with him a little.

Smiling to myself, I unlocked the door pulling it open to find Justin completely shirtless in grey sweatpants. I almost forgot what I was doing seeing his perfect tanned abs for the first time. His skin looked so soft, shimmering like he had a expensive moisturiser built into his body.

The things I would do to-

Focus Lia.

Letting out a sigh to get his attention, I swayed my hips bending over to put my ankle boots on the floor. Before I even had the chance to stand up straight again two hands gripped onto my waist spinning me around.

“What exactly are you doing?” Justin’s voice was quiet but harsh, his eyes intently focused on mine.

“Putting my shoes down.”

“With your ass up in the air for the whole world to see?”

“Well that’s why you put me in your hoodie. Isn’t it?” I smiled innocently.

I could swear I almost heard a low growl leave his throat, “Don’t play with me, Lia.” He warned. I hadn’t seen him this dominant since the meeting.

“I’m not playing with you, Bieber.” I tested, running my fingers over each indent in between each ab. He’s stomach flexed even more at my touch. I kept my eyes locked in his, dragging my finger tips lightly further up his chest almost reaching his neck. Justin instantaneously pulled my body to his. He slipped his hands over my ass and squeezed it making me gasp.

The corners of his mouth turned upwards in satisfaction, “Don’t mess with me sweetheart, you’ll never win this game. I’ll have you trembling at any little thing I do to you.”

I tried keeping myself together. I couldn’t fall into his trap.

“Hmm, I don’t know about that. You’re a lot of talk with no action.” I tried to slow down my breathing because Justin’s hands were still holding my ass, his hoodie being the only layer I wore besides my underwear.

“You have quite the mouth on you, Miss Delgado.” He spoke huskily taking steps forward keeping me against him till I felt my back on the wall.

“Do you want me to put it to better use?” I whispered reading Justin’s mind. I watched his eyes fill with emotions from shock and lust. I felt trapped by his muscular body and the hard wall.

He kept one hand on my hip whilst the other moved my wet hair off my shoulder and down my back, “You’re full of shit, but you’re a fucking turn on.”

“Still with the talk and no action.” I teased sensually.

He chuckled lowly slightly biting into his bottom lip. He leaned forward to brush his lips over my ear nibbling on my earlobe gently with his teeth then dragged his lips onto my neck. He knew exactly what his was doing because my breathing rapidly increased by the second. I had to keep my eyes from wanting to snap closed at the enjoyable feeling.

As if on cue a doorbell sounded the apartment joining the loud noise of pitter- patter from the rain on the windows. I smiled to myself as Justin removed his head from my neck. He was at the point of fully giving in only to be stopped. I got exactly what I wanted and the hard expression on his face gave me the clarification I was right. He was livid.

“Who the fuck is that.” He mumbled under his breath.

Leaving me against the wall he stomped out the room to the front door. Walking out keeping distance from behind him I watched him pull the door open.

“What is it Todd?” Justin’s authoritative demeanour took over.

“I came for the address you wanted me to try out.”I heard a slightly intimidated Todd reply.

“You have my number, use your fucking head and call me instead of pitching up at my door step. Got it? Or is that too much information to get through your think skull?” Justin gritted shoving his hand into the pocket of his sweatpants to pull out his phone. His back flexed the angrier he got.

“Yeah, my bad.”

“There,” Justin said, I assumed he had texted Todd the details. “Now get the fuck out of the building.” With that he slammed the door shut not giving Todd one last look.

“You let them know where you stay?” I asked Justin. Bells were going off in my head signalling danger and threat not to me or to Justin but to Max and all my friends. We all spent most of our time here at Max’s apartment more than we did at our own homes.

“Yeah.” He shrugged plodding over into the kitchen.

“Are you some sort of idiot? You’re putting Max in danger.” I pointed out seeing him grab a bag of uncooked popcorn and throwing in it the microwave.

“Word travels fast in a gang I can’t really stop it. They’re like a bunch of teenage girls.”

I ran my fingers through my damp hair in frustration. How is he not concerned?

“Justin, you can’t stay with Max if they know your address.”

“Where the hell else am I suppose to go, Lia?” He crossed his arms with his eyebrows raised.

“I don’t know.” I mumbled.

“Well when you think of something tell me.” He turned around pulling the bag that was puffed up out of the microwave pouring the white corn into a big bowl.

“I’m sorry.” I apologized feeling guilty that I had pretty much just said he shouldn’t live here when he had nowhere else to go.

“It’s cool.”

An extremely unexpected thought crossed my mind. What if I offered my apartment?

I mean, I had another room and everything. This could keep my friends safe but then again this could be a wrong move for me. I was non-existent to The Eagles, they would never think to have me as a suspect. But now I was making myself a target.

So then the question is what is more important, keeping myself  on the down low and the gang clueless, or taking a risk to keep my friends out of harm’s way?

It was obvious. I wanted to punch myself in the face because this was my only option right now and it had to be done.

“With me.” I blurted out.

“Huh?”

“Move in with me.” I said fiddling with my fingers leaning with my back against the counter top.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be asking the most attractive male, who was a ‘leader’ to the gang I watched, to move in with me into my one and only sanctuary.

This was so weird and awkward.

“You’re kidding.” He smiled shaking his head in amusement.

“No, I’m not. You’re putting my friends in danger. I would even let you sleep in my bed if I had to.”

Justin looked taken back for a moment, registering what I had just said till his usual smirk spread across his face.

“So then I guess it’s settled, I’m sleeping with you.” He grinned.

“W-What, no! No, that’s not what I meant! That’s only if I didn’t have another room which I do have. I’m just showing you how desperate I am to get you away from my friends so they don’t get hurt.”

“I’ll take you up on the offer, but I’m gonna be sharing the bed with you.” He guided me out the kitchen with his hand on the small of my back and the other holding the popcorn.

“Fine.” I lied. He was most definitely not getting anywhere near my bed!

“I’m looking forward to it.”

After nearly two hours of comfortable silence watching a movie, I had collected all my clothes to leave. Justin had told me to keep the hoodie since he would be moving in anyway.

“I’ll bring all my things by tomorrow.” Justin stood at the front door with me watching me pull the door open.

I nodded, “That’s fine. Thanks for today.”

“No problem. You must have really enjoyed it if you asked me to move in with you.” He teased.

“Shut up, you’re annoying.” I rolled my eyes walking out the door. A hand grasped my wrist pulling me back into a bare chest.

“I had a good time too.” He lightly chucked hugging me from behind with his arms wrapped around my waist.

Trying to hide my smile I stepped out of his hold, “See you tomorrow.” I looked over my shoulder walking away too the door which had the stairs. I didn’t want to risk someone seeing me in only a hoodie if I went in the elevator. That would just be downright embarrassing.

Justin returned a wink before retreating back into the apartment again.

What was I getting myself into? I had no idea what to expect living with Justin. Oh my god, wait, how was I suppose to explain this to my friends?

I really should have thought this out more clearly before bringing it up.
