LUMINOUS & APHOTIC BEAUTY is a South Korean, Cruelty-free and Vegan based cosmetic company founded by Kpop idol Jeong Gyeong-ja. Established on January 12, 2020, it made history by being the first makeup company to sell out all established products thirty minutes after its company release. It has been noted as the biggest makeup launch in history (topping the previous record made by an American cosmetic company).

The idea for LUMINOUS & APHOTIC BEAUTY in 2015, shortly after Gyeong-ja had left her former company SM Entertainment. For a brief period, there was a point in there the kpop idol considered leaving the music industry altogether and exploring other parts of entertainment [1]. Gyeong-ja enrolled in Seoul University in the hopes of exploring the fashion business as her mother hand but on an impulsive decision had signed with Bighit Entertainment and continued on with her musical career, not wanting it to end on a bad note [2].
Despite the hectic schedule of an idol, Gyeong-ja continued with her career and education, leaving with a degree in economics and business later than most students. The start-up of LAB started in 2018 where the name was copyrighted and set up for products, logos and other setups had begun [3]. LAB began its first manufacturing in early 2019 but had several changes throughout the year and was not finalized until the ending weeks of December.
LUMINOUS & APHOTIC BEAUTY made its debut on January 12, 2020, with a total of sixteen products, all of which were sold out thirty minutes after the company's announcement.
In total, sixteen products have been released in a set of two kits: BLACK AS NYX KIT and LIGHT AS THEIA KIT. Each kit holds one specific eyeshadow palette, four lipsticks (varying in shine, matte and shimmer), one highlighter and one bronzer and one foundation to the consumer's shade.

I wanted to give more details to the products but since I've used up all the photos available, I hope you don't mind another chapter on them! Not a love chapter unfortunately, it's taken a bit of time and I want it to be perfect so I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Had it thought out since the start but didn't know how to incorporate it so I hope you enjoyed it being used as a tactic Gyeongja used so everyone could be distracted from the realization that sis got married 👀
