to catch you up on between parts of my blackouts and all the detail I didn't know at the time. I'll fill in the gaps for who reads this, so time travel is way different than anyone may think. first, the present-day me was in 2012 which if you didn't figure out I was born from 1999 and disappeared in 2019. so my present-day me was around when past me was as well. nothing happened, the reason behind my parents and family disappearing was because of present me. the government connected the dots and went for my family and took them for testing but upon finding no link to my powers they were killed in cold blood. no, the government had no leads on me but a few days ago from me waking in the car speeding down the highway with helicopters and military alongside cops speed after us.
but before that part about the year 2019, they went for my family and angel took me away after I got out of the hospital and Chloe appeared in my life. they then got a tip from an unknown source and started to a manhunt for angel which they found her reappearing in a mall getting men's clothing and a lot of food and water. the government acted fast and cornered angel, that was taking care of my body. this happened at the end of 2019 a few days away from 2020. well, angel then sided to take the fight to them and attack the place I was being held in and broke me out. once breaking me out my daughter reached out to angel and I woke up to a few days after they met, which you should know what happened after I woke up.
the rest of the drive they took turns driving day and through the night as I stared out the window and watched the sands turn into trees and farmland, but soon changed to abandoned homes and streets as we got closer to where I once lived. I stopped looking out the window when we stopped the drive and pulled behind a building. I looked to see they were getting out and stretch and looking around. Loulou came to my door and opened it as she said "come on dad we have to walk the rest of the way, they quarantine your home and 40 miles from it. I nod and stepped out of the car and stretched and let out a yawn. I was kind of tired and felt weak, but I didn't want to become a problem for them so I followed them and helped them with carrying some of the food that filled a backpack. we walked the streets without any care as they talked with each other. I let my mind wander as I aimless followed them, I tripped over a hole in the concrete and face planted. I groaned and around onto my back and rubbed my nose. Loulou ran to me and helped me as angel laughed and said "don't worry I have seen him take more than that.... wait is that blood." her eyes grew wide as she saw blood come out of my nose. she ran over to look after herself, my nose was not stopping bleeding which was extremely concerning for all of us. it way not seem like a huge deal to a normal person but my regenerative powers were not working and this was a huge problem because I was the most wanted man by the government and they didn't care if I was dead or alive. Loulou pulled out cotton balls and about stuffed it in my nose but I grabbed her hand before she could and said "you put that in my nose you will have to kill me." they both got puzzled looks and said, "are you allergic to cotton?" I shook my head and said "no but I hate pure cotton, it makes my skin crawl and I get this horrible feeling. "
Loulou rolled her eyes and said "ok well we have to stop the blood and see if it's broken. she then pressed on my nose and it hurt but was not broken. she sighed in relief and said, "it's not broken and you should be fine." I wiped away the blood had already stopped. I waited to see if it kept bleeding but when I pushed on my nose it was heal and didn't hurt. I was puzzled and didn't understand what was going on. it turns out being in the coma for 7 years can mess with your powers special if they coma is a cause of extreme tranquilizing agent that could kill someone easily. I watched as their faces became puzzled and angel said "they fucked you good and made your powers become slow acting. so try not to jump off a cliff or get shot." soon as she said that it was like death herself had a curl joke in mind. Carolyn, miya, and Nola came out of nowhere and aimed their guns at us. I stood there and looked at angel and Loulou and said "what do you think is going to happen if you open fire on us. Carolyn frown and said "we were given orders to clean up any mess they may come through here, and to keep a special eye open for all three of you. if we take you in that's a huge bonus with a new high paying job." I grind my teeth together as I listened to her talk about taking us in like we was an animal but Nola then said "I didn't like working for them anyways though." they lowered their guns and walked to us as they got a few feet away Carolyn said "so we are sorry for backstabbing you. we thought it was the right thing to do. but when they took your family in and... yeah we decided to pick the team that doesn't kill innocent people because they are not helpful to us." miya and Nola nod as they agreed with her. Nola looked at angel and said "I can't believe you left though, they been down in killing creatures greatly after you left." angel smiled and said "I just had other things to take care of." my mind snapped back and I grabbed Carolyn by the top of her shirt and yelled "where is my family." fear filled her eyes and I threw her to the ground and said, "what the hell did they do to my family!" Nola and miya looked at the ground as Carolyn looked up at me with tears in her eyes and said: "they... they are no longer with us." I froze like a statue and looked at them and got light head and lost my footing almost face planting but angel quickly caught me as Loulou teared up as she found out a family she never met was now dead and she will never know any other family than her mom and dad which they didn't know each other at all. at that moment both my and Loulou's worlds came crashing down, but I gained my footing and said "now is not the time to petty the ones we lost, we need to make it to my old home and make a plan after that on what to do next. " I walked passed everyone and hugged Loulou and said "don't worry, we will avenge our family." she nods as I wiped the tears that escaped her eyes bit it was odd how she cried over ones she never knew. I thought she could have been hungry for the attention and love of blood ones, and I was not far off.
miya broke the quiet air that only held the sobbing of Loulou. she said "we have a car that we can take to where this home is." angel then said, "sure let's let the government know where we are going right away by the tracker."Niya gave a hatful face and said "I'm not dumb, we have a junk car from the street. we have been using it after we all agree we are going to help Cody." angel then said "I bet, how much you want to bet you have a tracker on you right now recording us. I know how the government works." I then yelled, " that's a fucking enough of your fucking bitching!" I let go and turned to them and I saw my tattoo across the left side of my body was glowing. they got quiet and looked at the light green glow, Loulou then said: "why does your skin glow like that?" I looked at her to see her poking at my arm and making the part she touch glow more. I shrugged and said, "it's just how my powers work... wait, you said you're on a mission?" I turned to look at Carolyn and she snapped out of her mind drifting off. she looked at me and nod violently before saying "there is a massive outbreak of wendigo and skinwalker in Tennessee but it seems to be affecting this area the most." I looked at her confused than at angel and said: "angel don't you hunt stuff like that?" Niya then said "she used to but after she left we had to use other untalented people and this spread around and they began to get out of control because no one can stop them. " angel groaned at miya as she smiled. I nod and said, "so if there is a wendigo outbreak then the military won't send units here searching for us or yall if you went quiet." Nola nods and said "my guess is yes because they being busy around the world in town is not a problem for them. " I smiled and said "perfect, so I guess this place will have to work for our group... wait won't we have to fight wendigos as well."
Carolyn nods and said "yes but we are trained to take care of them. plus they have a queen you kill her then the rest run off or that's what we are thinking." I hesitate before saying "what if you try to make a deal with them." they all looked at me shock and miya said "I can see you getting your stomach ripped open and they eating you from the inside out and you would say "can we talk about this." she laughed until Nola punched her and Nola said "it's not a good idea, to be honest, they are born killers that love to feed on raw meat. they would eat millions but always be hungry. I guess that's their trade-off, superpower, and speed but you're always starving." angel groaned and said "sure the cleanup crew knows something about wendigo. " miya and angel got in a fight as Nola tried to break them up. I didn't pay attention to them, I looked at Carolyn and saw she was extremely quiet like she knew something the other didn't. I then thought "you did something with a wendigo. " she looked around until seeing me look at her. she quietly nods and helped break up the fight, I smiled and said "Loulou." I looked at where Loulou was and she was looking up at me. I smiled at her and said "you want to see my old home?" she nods. I looked at the others and said "let go before it gets dark." they continue to fight. I rolled my eyes then aimed my hand at them and flexed it and raised it into the sky. they floated up and I then unflexed my hand which made them all fall 2 feet onto the ground. this stopped the fight and I said "now, let go before it gets damn dark." they started to gather their gear and backpacks as miya and angel growled at each other. we all started walking, after about an hour of walking, I started to see something out of the corner of my eye. I didn't know what it was but it was fast, I glanced over when the angel grabbed my arm and shook her head no. I looked at her confused and she held up one finger telling me to wait. she then made it to the front of the group and took Miya's gun she, of course, tried to get it back but the thing on the roof lunged at us and angel opened fire making the beast fall to the ground inches away from us. the thing was huge and at least stood at 7 feet tall and its body was a form of many animals. the head was deer with the eyes sucked into the head and the there were huge antlers like a 10 point buck, its body was covered in thick patches of black fur along with long claw-like fingers attached to very long arms and long legs that didn't fit the body. it was a horrible sight but what made us all move from it was its horrible smell, imagine garbage in the sun for a week blinded with sulfur along with the juice from a skunks asshole. everyone held their nose as the smell bust from the beast, I looked at angel still holding the gun and looking at the beast with a grin as she took joy in killing the beast. I then remembered she told me she was a hired killer, but that was a lie and what about Chloe was she threatened by angel into giving me up or step aside. I began to find angry and I stomped to angel and punched her across the face. she fell to the ground and the rest of them came and stood between us as she got up with the help of Loulou. Carolyn then pushed me and said, "what the hell was that for." I just stared at angel and said "you're a fucking liar, you were never a hired killer, why were you in the woods that day and why did you kill that guy, or why did you fuck me and made Chloe break up with me! just so you could drag me through hell and back for your enjoyment!" angel got up and pushed Loulou away gently and stood up and spit blood to the ground and said "I did you a favor, that guy was going to kill you he was a government worker a trained killer. he hands the job to kill you and your family, I told Chloe the truth and how you would be back soon to help. I guess I didn't think about what the government would do, but after you told me we had sex before and you knew future me I had to make sure it happened again or you wouldn't be here. I didn't mean for your family or Chloe to get tested on then killed." then and there is when I knew I was the reason my family was killed, I then knew that it was my fault. the government wouldn't have come to my home if I didn't show up and work for them or tell them about me, their deaths were my doing.
my hands dropped to my side and I stood there blaming my self, I then said: "you know where my home is?" I remained looking at the ground as I waited for an answer soon enough angel said: "yeah I went there." I nod and said "bring everyone there... I... I need time to think." I then sat down on the dusty street and closed my eyes, upon opening them it was dark and they were all gone. I sighed and knew the time had passed as I got up my body ached in pain as all my bones popped, I then began to walk my long journey home.
