What V said really hurt me so I figured I might as well just leave him alone for the rest of the evening. Sadly, V saying that he doesn't want to talk to me reminded me of my past university, where no one wanted to talk to me except Chaeyoung, which was a given since she's my cousin.
I totally didn't have any friends there, since they kept on saying that my whole 'smiley and friendly' personality looked like a facade to them; that I'm just a fake who's trying to be as popular as my brother.
Every night, back then, I just keep on saying to myself that they're wrong. I'm not faking my personality, and I'm certainly not jealous of my brother's popularity. After all, I made that choice; I chose not to audition with Jin when Dad told us that a director personally asked him if we can join one of his dramas.
Through all that rumors going around my past university, I tried to really make a facade. I tried to look tough when I see people looking at me then whispers to the other person beside them. I tried to sound tough when Niana and her friends kept on saying harsh words to me. I tried to be strong to protect Chaeyoung when Niana's ex boyfriend tried to play with her heart, because he knew Chaeyoung was fast to fall.
I really thought V and I could be friends after the tent scenario. But unfortunately, I just can't have all that I want to.
"Jin hyung!" Eun Woo shouted as we walked towards the uncrowded area near the stadium.
We found Jin standing formally, his smile never fading as I ran towards him and hugged him.
"I have a gift for you." Jin whispered to me.
"What is it?" I asked him excitedly, forgetting what I was just feeling on our way here. A person suddenly revealed herself from behind Jin. "Chaeyoung! Oh my gosh!"
"Hey there, bestie!" Chaeyoung said, pulling me away from Jin and hugging me instead. "I missed you!"
"Me too!" We let go of each other. "How did you get in here?" Chaeyoung showed me an id. I took it from her to get a clearer look and gasped as I saw what university id it was. "You finally transferred here!"
"Yeah, I can't stand Niana and her friends anymore." She joked and hugged me again.
"Anyway, Chaeyoung meet Eun Woo." I held Eun Woo's arm to pull him closer to us, "Eun Woo, meet my best friend, Chaeyoung."
"Hi." They both said and chuckled.
"Is he the.. you know?" Chaeyoung asked, afraid to mention the word since there are a lot of people.
"Yes, I am." Eun Woo grinned.
"Not bad..." Chaeyoung eyed Eun Woo and gave him a thumbs up.
"I'll go back to my seat now. Still have to judge. I'll meet you with Yoongi after this." Jin quickly said and walked away before I could even tell him that I don't want to go back with Yoongi hyung's group.
I groaned and looked at Eun Woo. "Still want to come with us?"
He smiled and shook his head no. "I'll find my friends now, they must be looking for me already. I'll meet you tomorrow, yeah?"
"Of course." I told him and pulled Chaeng to get back to my friends.
"Your boyfriend is so handsome!" Chaeng said. "You're one lucky girl!"
I made a face. "He's not my boyfriend. We're still just friends."
"Bummer." She huffed. "Who's Yoongi, by the way?"
"Jin's college friend here. They must have talked about meeting each other here. My friends are with Yoongi hyung too."
"Do you have male friends?" She asked.
"I do, actually." I grinned. "I've changed." I winked at her and laughed.
"Wow, you're not afraid of boys anymore. That's new."
"Hey! I'm not afraid of them. I just don't want to be associated with the kind of boys our univ has."
"But not here, huh?" She said. "I guess they're worth meeting then. I hope you have good looking friends though."
"Oh believe me, they all are." We stopped. "Take a look for yourself." I pointed at my friends who were busy listening to the band.
Chaeyoung smirked, "Kim Jisoo, I'm so glad you didn't disappoint me."
"Jisoo! You're back!" Lisa exclaimed and hugged me before pinching V's arm, who growled in pain. "That's for saying mean things to Jisoo!"
"You already did that to me when she left!" V yelled while Lisa just rolled her eyes at him.
"Um, guys. This is my cousin, Park Chaeyoung. She just transferred here too." I pushed Chaeng lightly to give my friends a better look at her.
Jimin, who was standing at the back of Namjoon, instantly made his way beside my cousin. "Hi miss. I'm Park Jimin, Jisoo's good friend."
Chaeyoung, a good flirt herself, gave the same energy back to Jimin. "You can call me Rosé."
We snickered as the two shook hands while smiling flirtatiously at each other. When I had enough of them, I smacked Jimin's hand away from my cousin's and pulled Chaeng with me.
"Where are your things?" I asked.
"It's in your dorm room already. I'm going to be your new room mate." She winked at me and laughed. "You're staying with them, right?" She pointed st Lisa and Jennie, who were in front of us.
"Yes. They're nice and funny. You'll get along with them fast too."
"They're announcing the winner now!!" Jennie told us. "Your brother's announcing them, Soo!"
Jin was already on stage again, holding a trophy for the Champion. "The winner for tonight's Battle of the Bands is...." He looked at the audience to gain momentum. "Bangtan! Congratulations!"
"OH MY GOD!" Lisa screamed and hugged the boys. With all the excitement, the boys, except the cousins, hugged each of us one by one.
Jungkook was the last one to hug me and when he finally let go, I noticed how V was staring at us in distaste. "Let go now, JK. We have to go in front." He told his friend and followed the other boys who went ahead.
"Congrats, JK. Now go get your trophy." I told Jungkook as he let go of me and grinned with his famous bunny smile.
"Thanks! Let's take a photo after we got it." He said, giving me his camera, and I nodded as I shooed him away.
Chaeyoung scooted beside me and said, "I smell something fishy."
After taking pictures onstage with the judges, Bangtan went to meet us at a more secluded area to prevent people from asking autographs or photos with Seokjin.
"Yoongi, my man! How are you?" Jin greeted Yoongi when he arrived at the tent our group are staying in.
"i'm good." Yoongi hugged Jin with a big gummy smile on his face." It's been two years since we saw each other, right? "
" Yeah. I missed you and your cooking."
My friends, except V and Chaeng, were all looking at Jin and Yoongi talking to each other. They were in awestruck with the two's friendship, Namjoon's mouth was even open while Lisa and Jennie were just trying hard not to squeal.
"I have a restaurant in town. You know BTS?" Yoongi asked Jin.
"That's yours?" Jin was in awe. "Eun Woo suggested that to me after he and Jisoo had a date there." Jin's final words were enough to make the others look at me. He felt the change of atmosphere so he nervously chuckled and said, "Let's all take a picture to commemorate this moment with Jisoo's new friends. I'm proud of my sister, after all that she's been through."
Lisa called someone from outside the tent and asked the student to take pictures of us, and in return, she can have selfies with Jin.
After the quick picture taking, I noticed Hoseok and Jennie kept on looking everywhere, as if searching for something.
"What's wrong?" I asked them in worry.
"V's gone."
