The cool raindrops fell onto the ground with gentle thuds. Some landed on his already drenched hair as he stood in front of the grave that belonged to his friend.
He felt the dread and guilt coursing through him since he had refused to attend her funeral. Was it right to see her after all this time?
He knew that he owed her a visit for all she had done for him. For all the times she supported and loved him when he was all alone. He owed her that much.
Carefully, he placed the white roses next to the headstone. A tear gently tumbled down his cheeks, lips trembling. He had always known that white roses were her favourites.
But that's not important.
She was gone.
And he somewhat felt responsible for it.
