A Slayer chained to the earth.

It was an almost ironic fate, the most powerful girl in the world, chained to the earth, chained to duty, chained to death. Nothing but a prisoner, trapped in a cage, four walls moving in, and a taunting key of freedom.

Yet, there was no such thing as freedom for a Slayer, the only key out of the prison was death.

A fate Buffy had already accepted three times, her fingers had grazed the key to freedom on three separate occasions only to be re-chained and yanked back down.

Metaphorically speaking Slayers were chained, to their duty, the Council, and expectations. But Buffy she could count the number of times she had been literally chained down to earth. She had been chained over and over again, by various enemies and now she was chained in her own mind.

So as her eyes slammed open and she met the familiar sight that had been haunting her dreams for weeks she couldn't help but groan in annoyance.

Since that night, she found herself in the same place again and again every time she tried to sleep. Somehow, Joyce's screaming every two hours was more appealing than this little therapy session she was forced to endure every time she tried to rest.

Once again, Buffy found herself in the cave where her first death had occurred. A dark cave filled with a waterfall of blood that was slowly filling the floors of the cave around her feet. With every body she dropped, the current of the blood started to flow into the cave at a more intense speed. Twisting the chains that were positioned around her wrist Buffy sighed in annoyance as she heard the movement across from her place positioned on the floor.

Across from her, blood from the waterfall staining the white dress that she was wearing was another chained figure. A very familiar annoyingly persistent figure.

Her 16-year-old self.

The innocent 16-year-old kid, in the beautiful white dress and leather jacket that she had died in for the very first time.

Her first experience with death had tainted her, darkened her soul in a way, and traumatized her more than she had ever willingly admitted. Her friends had seen her rage after the incident when she had backpeddled into her old Hemery ways but they never saw the long-term damage. The dreams that had haunted her every night, for months every time she had closed her eyes all she had felt was blood being pulled from her body and water filling her lungs.

She had felt alone.

She had died alone, face first in the water.

Leaning her head back against the cave wall as blood continued to drip onto the floor making everything smell like a mixture of death and chopper, Buffy stared at her old self with a bored expression. She was literally in a black version of the white dress right now, blood staining her hands and black tendrils of darkness staining her golden hair.

She was the darker mirror of her old self.

The innocent young girl, who had never killed a human, with no blood staining her hands and a white dress, golden curls acting like a halo around her.

The light part of her and the dark part of her.

The demon and Human part of her soul.

It was annoying.

Young Buffy mirrored her position before sighing "You need to let me back in."

Buffy snorted as adjusted the chains around her wrists trying to get a bit more comfortable "Nah. I'm good."

Young Buffy giggled slightly as she twisted the cross necklace around her neck. The necklace that Angel had given her upon their first meeting in that alleyway "Nice to know I keep the snark when I go all full demon mode. I was worried we would be all stoic and Giles like...ugh." When she shivered in slight horror Buffy rolled her eyes before staring at the small stream of blood running through the crack that was currently cutting right through the center of the cave.

A line of blood separating the two parts of her.

The waterfall may be filling the cave with blood yet, that stream itself was splitting the cave in two. One side: the innocent girl, untouched by all the horrors she would experience for the next 6 years, and the other: cold tainted, and calculated.

Both versions trapped in their own cage, fighting for control.

The only difference between their two cages was that currently, Buffy's side of the cave had more space. With every drop of blood she spilled the version of her in the white dress found the walls of the cave closing in on her while blood continued to flood her side of the room. For Buffy, the blood was only around an inch high, but for the younger version of her, the blood was reaching her knees now. Blood slowly filled her half of the cave, like a car slowly making its descent to the bottom of a ravine, water filling it inch by inch.

With every drop that filled the cave, the closer the prospect of drowning settled in.

It was almost ironic, the younger version of herself sitting there in that same white dress was this time going to be drowned in the blood of all the people she had yet to kill.

"Do we have to do the chit-chat thing?" Buffy huffed as she twisted the three necklaces around her neck. Every dream was the same except for the annoying therapist-like conversation she would have with herself. She would wake up chained to the earth in the blood-soaked cave, in the same black dress, with three very specific necklaces hanging around her neck.

The First:

The winged locket that Stefan had given her in High School right after they had started dating. The necklace that had once belonged to his mother. The necklace she had barely ever taken off after receiving it. She had loved it and when Klaus had torn it from her neck after they had made their deal she had almost sobbed.

When Damon had returned it to her in Sunnydale, she hadn't taken it off again, not even when she died.

She had woken up with it still around her neck.

A necklace that back in the real world was gathering dust in her old room at the Boarding along with the copy of Withering Heights Stefan had tried to blackmail her into reading by providing her with the Art History book she had spent months searching for in Williamsburg.

The Second:

The necklace that ironically she wore for the first time the same day when she hid the locket in the book and tucked it away in a draw.

The pendant that Klaus had given her the day he had healed her from the werewolf bite. She had woken up in his room only to find the box next to her. A simple silver chain with a silver dagger pendant, wrapped with metal vines woven to appear like the thorns of a rose and a small red ruby crystal in the center.

A necklace that at the ball last year he had revealed he had made for her 700 years ago, before he had even known her name.

A necklace she had only worn once because she had been so panicked after their conversation in the garden that she had ended up literally cutting off all of her hair.

A necklace that just like the locket, was gathering dust. Only that one was gathering dust in her weapon's case.

The Third:

The last necklace was one that technically speaking, didn't even belong to her.

It was one she had given to someone else.

The silver spiral necklace had small purple crystals filled with vervain along the lines of the spiral. The necklace she had given to Bonnie to ensure she would be safe from Damon's compulsion. Yet, despite the fact both girls had clicked that as a witch Bonnie was immune to compulsion, she had never taken the necklace off.

Bonnie had worn it to all their High school dances, even when it didn't match the theme.

Three necklaces around her neck which were weighing down on her soul. Because they were the three biggest parts of her soul. The three people who were still alive, who felt tied to Buffy.

Or at least the version of her she was currently trying to drown in blood.

Stefan, Klaus and Bonnie.

The three people that probably knew her the best in this world.

Young Buffy just rolled her eyes before gulping as she spotted the blood surrounding her ankles start to rise again "Stop dropping bodies, this isn't you."

"You're a ray of sunshine today." Buffy muttered sarcastically as she let go of the necklaces that were desperately trying to make her reconnect with that lighter part of her, instead choosing to focus on the blood-staining her fingernails. She seriously needed to get a manicure once she woke up from this self-reflection session.

"Well, you forced me into a cave in the back of your mind. Gotta say not a fan me."

Buffy just grumbled as she stared back at the mirror image of her all dressed in white who was glowering at her unhappily. This bubbly child version of herself could be a serious buzzkill sometimes "You were being very miserable and whimpery. It was depressing couldn't have that."

Just looking at this version of herself made Buffy want to start ripping heads off in hopes of drowning her, letting her wash away with the waterfall of blood so she didn't have to see the emotion in her eyes. Her eyes were filled with sorrow, grief, and guilt. All the things she had shoved down here to keep herself focused.

"Misery is healthy." Young Buffy shot back as she glared at the older version of herself. The demonic side that had forcibly pushed her out, separating them, and leaving them in a constant power struggle for control. A power struggle she was losing with every droplet of blood that hit the cracked floors of the earth around them.

Buffy narrowed her eyes dangerously at the statement "Misery turned us into a vegetable against Glory." She in no way would go back to that state. While she didn't give a crap about protecting Elena anymore, the thing she did care about was Joy.

In no way was she going to let what happened in Sunnydale happen again.

She had lost Elena and it had emotionally destroyed her, leaving her so beyond defeated that she had gotten trapped in her own mind.

Burying all of those overwhelming emotions down here in this cage, chained to the earth was the only way to ensure she didn't go into another coma again.

Young Buffy sighed sadly at the rebuttal, sympathy filling her eyes which just qued her older self to pick up a piece of rock from the floor tossing it at her. Ignoring the childish action as the rock bounced off the magical stream of blood keeping their two prisons separated, she twisted her hands together trying to think of the best way to go about this without the demonic version of her purposely going on a killing spree to get rid of her for good "We live with the weight of the world Buffy. It sucks and it's hard and it's every day but-"

"Are you re-using our Stefan slash Angel speech?" Buffy cut her off, staring back at her in disbelief.

Of all the things to do, reusing a speech wasn't exactly the most imaginative, if anything it was kind of dull and disappointing.

"A little."

"Lame."

Young Buffy raised her hands a frustrated huff escaping her chest as she leaned back against the cold walls in-trapping her, a small pout grazing her lips "Hey!" She snapped "It was an effective speech both times. And it was more recent for me." She gestured to her younger face before furrowing her brows "Sort of. You get what I mean!"

Buffy snorted in amusement.

It was funny to watch her get frustrated with well...herself.

"And if anyone's lame it's Klaus. He could have at least gotten a little inventive during the memory re-write. The amount of doubled conversations in our head is so insane."

Not an incorrect statement.

When you had two different versions of a life living in your head, things tended to get very confusing. Especially, when a lot of memories had just changed locations and faces, yet the conversations remained the same. It was like a video that was stuck in the VHS player, glitching in and out.

Though given the number of double conversations with Stefan and Angel, it felt like Klaus had done it a little on purpose as a way to mess with Stefan given that he had been incredibly insecure when it came to Angel.

Especially, after they found out Angel had come back from Hell.

Klaus had literally forced Stefan to watch the day that she and Angel got to be human together just because he was a petty little prick.

Klaus could be such a child, especially when it came to her relationship with Stefan.

"Pretty sure it was a dig at Stefan." She shrugged as she brought her knees to her chest, twisting the soft black cotton of the dress as it shifted against her skin.

Young Buffy just smiled in slight amusement "Color me totally not shocked. Speaking of Stefan-"

"He's your boyfriend, not mine." Buffy snapped cutting off the version of her that was technically appearance-wise only a year and a half away from meeting Stefan at Shorty's Diner.

"You snapped at the bar." Young Buffy reminded her with a sly grin as she crossed her legs and rested her chin in her palms, blinking up at her with mock innocent green eyes "Threatened to make him choke on his own teeth because he was right." Buffy gritted her teeth, yet that didn't stop her younger self from continuing. If anything it just encouraged her to keep going "Klaus may understand you because you two share similar scars, but there are two people in this town that have always been able to read us."

Even if The Cure being a possibility had tripped Stefan up, it didn't change the past. While he sucked at keeping secrets he did tend to be able to read Buffy's mind better than most.

"Stefan and Bonnie."

The pointed edge in her voice at the second name qued Buffy to jump up to her feet, pacing back and forth in her section of the cage like a wild animal. She was beyond ready to wake up now, screw sleep, she could just down a few jugs of coffee to keep going.

Sleep was becoming more restless than anything else. Instead of her body shutting down, her subconscious started yapping on and it was beyond annoyed.

She wanted to wake up!

Young Buffy just smiled knowingly as the older version of herself all dressed in black purposely ignored her words, trying to pretend that she wasn't even here "Funny how you haven't gone to see her, how you've ignored every single call and text since she got her mind back."

"Really would like to wake up now!" Buffy growled as she kicked one of the walls and yanked on the chains. She didn't want to think about Bonnie right now.

NOPE.

"You slept with Klaus right after your argument with Stefan which btw seriously judging you for like ew, how the hell did we get there?"

"That's because you haven't experienced hate sex yet. It's thrilling."

Young Buffy rolled her eyes "Look as ugh as it is, the point I am making is you sleep with Klaus when you know you are wrong. When you feel like the worst person in the world. You killed two more hunters and threatened to kill Stefan, a reminder of what happened the last time you killed someone and then fought with Stefan?"

The pointed tone had Buffy ready to rip the younger girl's head off.

She did not need the reminder that she was seriously screwed up in the head and repeated the cycle that had literally started off her affair with Klaus 9 months ago. She had killed Warren and threatened Stefan when he ended up telling Elena, and then she had ended up giving into her worst instincts in hopes of drowning her mind.

Losing herself to the darker part of her when she was close to breaking.

But her sleeping with Klaus in this condition was not her trying to remain in the void of caring. She had needed an outlet, but it didn't mean she was suddenly going to fall apart in self-guilt and hate like last time.

She didn't feel guilt anymore!

"You're really annoying."

Young Buffy just grinned, her cheeks flushing a soft pink "I think I'm adorable and your hair looks like a hot mess."

Buffy ran her hand through the mixture of black and blonde curls framing her face before sticking out her tongue. She was growing to like the new highlights that seemed to keep growing. Plus, her demon side affecting her hair was saving her a fortune at the salon "Do you know how much this would cost at a salon? Demon highlights work for me." She snarked before letting out a small huff of annoyance.

She was still trapped in this cave, her wrists chained to the earth with her annoying teenage self staring back at her which meant her body wasn't close to waking up yet.

Where the hell was Klaus yelling at the top of his lungs or some idiot who never knocked when she needed them to disturb her sleeping state?

Damn, Rebekah for actually letting her get rest.

This wasn't real rest.

It was just another fight going on only this one was happening the second her body relaxed allowing her mind to start fighting back.

"Is this therapy session over yet doc? Pretty sure our hour is done and I don't feel like getting charged by the minute by my pre-dead self."

Young Buffy shook her head in amusement before gesturing to the waterfall of blood that continued to echo through the caves like a noise machine "Nope. With every bit of blood you drop-"

"I've killed before." Buffy reminded her sharply.

What was so different now?

She hadn't been trapped in this weird twin torture cave when she had killed Warren, not when she killed Connor.

Young Buffy remained unfazed by the harsh tone as blood continued to seep into the white of her dress around her ankles "But we always stuck to our morals." Killing Warren had been to save Elena, stop Alaric, and ensure an entire sire-line of vampires wasn't wiped out of existence.

Connor had been to protect Joy and Jeremy and it had been a last resort. Buffy had been intent on letting him leave until he swung at her. If he hadn't swung at her in all likelihood he would still be breathing.

Her morals were to protect the people who couldn't protect themselves. Kids like April who had already been tortured by Connor, innocent people who didn't deserve to be destroyed just because of the wants of others.

"Protect the innocent, those who need protection." Young Buffy reminded her sharply "Not slaughter out of vengeance. Just because the world is a big suckfest to us, doesn't mean we get to take-"

"UGH!" Buffy groaned loudly silencing her younger much more innocent self as she rolled her neck and stared down her unamused. She was so done with this chat, she had more important things to be focused on than some moral debate about the divide she had formed in her mind and soul upon granting her demon side the majority of the control "Look little me, being nice and sweet got everything torn away!"

She had tried to be good for years and yet no matter what she did, she ended up in the same cycle.

The universe knocked her over when she was down, again and again.

"I don't need to feel bad or sad about other crap, what I need is to keep going and make sure Joy is safe."

Joy was all that mattered.

Young Buffy watched her silently for a moment, her lip twitching slightly as the way Buffy snapped. If she was snapping instead of just threatening it meant that this chat was gritting at those perfectly placed emotional shields she had placed around them to keep them apart "You will be able to protect her better if you find balance." She countered sharply "You may feel love for her now, but how long till that disappears?"

Buffy gritted her teeth, turning her back on the teenager, choosing to focus on the cracks of the cave around them instead. Watching as blood continued to drip down the walls, staining every inch of her mind.

"When blood fills my side of the room...." Young Buffy gestured to the pool of blood around her ankles, completely hiding her feet from view "It will just be you in the darkness, endlessly falling from the void, with nothing but rage and chaos. The part of that feels for her is me...and you're drowning me the longer you keep going."

Inhaling tightly, Buffy glanced back at the girl only to furrow her brows in confusion as a bald-headed man in a tuxedo walked along the stream of blood holding a tray of assorted cheeses.

"Cheese?"

MYSTIC FALLS, VIRGINIA

The White Oak Stake was still embedded in his flesh.

While he had gotten a few pieces out, Klaus could still feel shards of wood tearing through the muscles and veins, desperately closing in on his heart.

Grunting in agony, he tried for the hundredth time to try and rip the last few pieces of white oak that Silas had left inside of him out. Wrapping his hand around his shoulder, he yanked on it swiftly and violently. A loud crack echoed off the walls of the mansion as he ripped it right out of the socket. Yet, despite the way his arm was now hanging limply at his side, he still couldn't reach the splinters of wood inside of him.

"Hey, baby daddy, I'm back!"

Klaus froze at the voice.

Buffy.

Spinning around he sighed in relief as she stepped into the room only to freeze in her steps as she got a good look at him.

His skin was pale and dripping with exasperation for probably the first time since his human days and his back coached in a miniature of blood and sweat. He looked like a mess to put it simply. A dying mess.

Quickly Buffy rushed over, her hands moving to his face as her concerned eyes scanned him carefully "Oh my god, Nik what happened?" Instead of answering, Klaus weakly stumbled forward into her, his knees buckling cueing her to quickly lower him to his knees as she crouched down in front of him, her green eyes drilling into his blue ones "Nik, come on get with the explain-y."

"Silas." Klaus grunted out as his hands practically dug into her wrists clutching onto her through the pain "He attacked me. He—he wanted Joy, but I wouldn't let him have her and he stabbed me with the White Oak Stake. A piece of it is still inside of me."

Buffy's eyes widened in panic and she helped him over to the couch sitting him down and trying to soothe him "Shh. It's okay." She whispered stroking his face "I'm not gonna let you die."

Klaus's brows furrowed for a moment as he stared up at her, looking right into the eyes that were reflecting so many different emotions.

Emotions that she was not supposed to be able to feel in her current state.

Sympathy, concern, and fear.

Shoving himself away from her, he quickly scrambled away as it clicked just who he was really looking at.

"Silas!"

Silas chuckled almost impressed as a small smirk started to replace the small smile "Look at you, so quick. I'm almost impressed. That's right. Last night I looked like Shane. Now I look like Buffy. Tomorrow. Who knows. So, I suggest you get your demon girlfriend to speed up and get me The Cure. Tick Tock Klaus."

WILLOUGHBY, PENNSYLVANIA

Just as they passed the town sign signaling they had arrived at their next destination, Rebekah furrowed her brows as Buffy shot up in the passenger seat, gasping for air as she woke abruptly from her slumber.

Something she had noticed in the past two days on the road with Buffy was that the girl always woke up in a panic, despite the fact she currently couldn't feel fear or any of those pesky emotions related to terror and worry.

Buffy really didn't like to sleep, it was beyond obvious. They had been driving for 6 hours and every time Buffy drifted off, she would surge forward after about 10 minutes, waking herself up in a frantic panic.

As Buffy gasped for a moment, her heart pounding like a terrified rabbit, Rebekah turned down onto the next street before letting her eyes fall back to her friend, concern starting to bubble in her chest.

"You okay?"

Buffy just let out a small grunt of an answer before grabbing the iced coffee from the cup holder beside her.

Given how talkative Buffy typically was, the silence just had Rebekah all the more concerned "You're awfully quiet B."

Buffy just grumbled in annoyance as she placed her feet on the dashboard of the car they had stolen after dumping Damon's on the side of the road last night "Didn't sleep well."

"Understatement darling." Rebekah teased "Even last night you sounded like you were drowning. I could hear you from my hotel room across the hall. Waking up every five minutes. Everything alright?"

Everything was far from alright but Buffy didn't want to talk about it.

"Just my subconscious being a bitch and there was a guy with a cheese plate."

That cheese guy honestly creeped her out more than any demon she had faced in the past seven years. When she had seen him during her dream with The First Slayer back in Sunnydale he had been creepy, the fact that he had made another appearance just made him even more disturbing.

She was never eating cheese again, that guy had ruined the delicacy for her.

Luckily for Buffy, before Rebekah could try and pry the details out of her, the echo of her phone ringing drew the pair's attention. Buffy sighed in relief as she spotted the familiar name on her screen.

"Klaus hey-"

The echo of heavy grunting and gasps of pain cued Buffy to sit up in her seat, her back straightening up. Was Klaus hurt? Who the hell beat the crap out of him?

Everyone in Mystic Falls sucked at combat so there was no way it was one of them?

Plus, if he was hurt, who the hell was watching their daughter?!

"Buffy...Silas attacked me. With The White Oak Stake."

That was one way to get both women's full attention.

BLOOMSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA

"Buffy is a terrible driver Stefan!" Damon growled as he and Stefan climbed out of the younger's car, both of them scanning the area trying to locate the car the girls had apparently abandoned last night  "And Rebekah is just as bad!"

The last time his car had been in the hands of those two girls, it had gotten completely trashed. When he had finally seen it again, he had literally collapsed to his knees, tears brimming his eyes as he took in the sight of all the damage.

It was safe to say, he was worried.

The second he spotted that familiar glint of blue, Damon vanished, moving over to his beloved car, and scanning it for any injuries.

Stefan rolled his eyes as he pulled the extra gallons of gas out of his boot, Damon's attachment to that car was a little concerning sometimes "Why don't you just be grateful that the Sheriff was able to track down the car after you let them, uh...you know steal it from you."

They also had to be grateful that Buffy had just dumped him in the city dump instead of killing him.

"Remind me to send her some mini-muffins." Damon muttered only to groan as his brother shoved the gas into his hands "Do we really need 10 gallons of gas or are you making me just lug this around as punishment?"

Stefan sighed, he was not in the mood to fight with his brother again. The second he found out exactly how Buffy had been manipulating him in New York, let's just say the argument between them wasn't pretty.

But now he just needed to focus on finding Buffy and The Cure so they could protect Joy "Well, they ditched your car after it ran out of fuel."

"Typical." Damon hissed in annoyance "Why can she never remember to fill up the tank?"

"Probably to mess with you more." When Damon merely rolled his eyes Stefan shook his head in amusement.

Okay, maybe he was enjoying this.

Just a little.

"We got a hundred miles before we get to Willoughby."

Damon frowned in confusion "Yeah well I don't remember that name from the list of places I got in New York."

"Oh, the list." Stefan muttered sarcastically "You mean the list they stole from right under your nose after you let your guard down? They'll be there. Sheriff Forbes tracked down the car they stole after yours before she went to help watch Joy with Caroline."

Given that Klaus had been quiet since he told Caroline to take the baby and run, she had elected herself super-nanny until he started answering their calls and came to collect his daughter. Though, Stefan suspected that the longer Caroline kept Joy, the harder it would be for Klaus to get her back.

Caroline got attached to adorable things and Joy was insanely cute.

Damon let out an impressed breath at the reveal.

Liz was the best.

"Screw the muffins I'll get her champagne." He quickly started filling the car with gas before glancing over at his brother "If Buffy is wherever it may be."

"Willoughby." Stefan reminded him "The creamed corn capital of Pennsylvania. They'll be there. Let's just hope we get to them before they get to The Cure."

Damon sighed before a quick idea popped into his head, one he liked very much "Ooh, silver lining. If Rebekah takes The Cure, then she's mortal. And then we can just kill her right then and there."

Stefan couldn't help but sigh, his brother really needed to keep his mind focused longer than 5 seconds at a time "Ooh dark cloud. Buffy probably kills us for killing Rebekah then stays an all-powerful demon slayer hybrid forever with her demon side growing stronger by the day."

Giving Buffy The Cure was the last resort, if they could get her to retake control of her body again and stop nullifying all of her emotions, then they wouldn't have to try and give her The Cure.

The problem?

Buffy liked the demon path.

And with every day that passed, the deeper she dug herself into the void of chaos.

"Look, why don't you just table the revenge fantasies for now? And just keep your eye on the prize. Find Katherine get The Cure, get out before you get your neck snapped again. Or you know Buffy just kills us instead."

At the reminder of what had gone down once Buffy had switched up her facade of fun, Damon clenched his jaw, rage cursing through his veins. While he hadn't said anything he was pissed. Buffy had played with him and destroyed him and he was furious, he had never been so mad at the blonde but he knew one thing, this wasn't his best friend they were dealing with.

This was an all-powerful crazy person.

"Believe me, I learned my lesson. Demon Buffy is a crazy-ass bitch who cares about nothing but causing pain. And I won't trust her until we get the old Buffy back."

WILLOUGHBY, PENNSYLVANIA

"Klaus-" Buffy tried to get him to focus as she switched to FaceTime while leaning back against the hood of the car, Rebekah pacing back and forth in front of her in a panic.

The second The White Oak stake was mentioned, Rebekah went into panic mode, her body practically screaming at her to rush back to Mystic Falls to ensure she didn't lose another brother.

It had taken Buffy literally tackling her out of the car to keep her from turning to car around and speeding down to Virginia.

For a moment, his sweaty face finally focused back on her, his fingers drenched in blood from where he had been clawing at the growing hole in his shoulder blade. The spot where he claimed he could feel shards of the stake moving toward his heart, ready to end his existence and with him the rest of his sire line.

"Is it really you?"

Buffy rolled her eyes, he had already asked her this question. Three times.

It was infuriating!

"Why wouldn't it be dummy? Are we done with your mid-life crisis now?"

Instead of answering her question, Klaus shifted the phone leaving Buffy gagging in slight disgust as she was met with nothing but the sight of torn flesh and blood "Oh my god!" She coughed as she turned to Rebekah with panicked eyes "I think your brother has lost his mind. Or has termites."

That effectively got Rebekah to focus back on her only to shiver in disgust as she spotted the sight of her injured shirtless brother "Oh bloody hell Nik put a shirt on no one wants to see that!"

As Rebekah covered her eyes, Klaus shifted the phone back so he could focus on Buffy "You need to come home with The Cure. There is a part of the white oak still inside of me."

Buffy groaned "Not happening."

Klaus let out a furious growl at her refusal "Shall I remind you love that currently, our daughter is under the protection of a young vampire and your human godmother? So either return home with The Cure or at least tell me where the pieces are-"

Before he should shift the phone back to his shoulder in hopes of getting her to act like his virtual nurse, Buffy snapped, cutting him off "NIK! He can't have stabbed you with the stake!"

"It is currently inside of me love!"

"No, it's not!" Buffy gritted out furiously before reaching through the driver's window and yanking her bag out of the passenger seat "He can't have it because I have it with me!"

Something Klaus should have known, yet clearly Silas's ability to mess with the mind was stronger than they had originally thought.

Both Rebekah and Klaus froze at her declaration.

Ignoring the shocked expressions being directed at her, Buffy reached into her bag purposely pulling the White Oak Stake out and waving in front of the camera for Klaus to see. If Silas was messing with his head and had him so convinced that an object that was hundreds of miles away was embedded in his flesh, currently killing him then she needed to give him some proof.

He was already a paranoid mess on a regular day and now he was a paranoid hallucinating mess who had been carving into his own shoulder like a Christmas turkey all night.

Rebekah couldn't help but sputter as she stared at the stake, her eyes following it closely as Buffy shoved it back into her bag. Without hesitation, she turned and glared at her brother through the phone.

"You told me it was never leaving your sight! Why does she get to know where it is?"

Klaus just furrowed his brows his breathing slowly starting to calm down, his brain slowly starting to settle.

Buffy sighed ignoring Rebekah's complaints as she focused back on Klaus who was now shaking his head in refusal "Klaus, we talked about this before I left. It was safer for me to get it out of Mystic Falls given we didn't know where Silas was and that town is bad luck for Mikaelsons."

A thousand years and the Mikaelsons had been untouchable, yet in less than two years of being in Mystic Falls, two sire lines had been wiped out.

Klaus stared back at her for a long moment his breathing slowly starting to even out before once again he started shaking his head cueing Buffy to roll her eyes at his stubborn refusal to listen to her.

She seriously hated Silas.

He was making her life a pain in the ass, she was supposed to be on a murder mission right now and yet she was having to explain facts to Klaus like he was a small child. Though, he did throw temper tantrums like a toddler so it wasn't that far off from her normal routine.

"No, but, I could feel the splinters, we didn't-"

"You agreed right after we had sex on the library floor."

Rebekah let out a horrified gasp quickly shoving her fingers into her ears to try and drown out the horrifying conversation that had her ready to throw up the sweet bus boy she had eaten an hour ago.

Buffy snorted as she spotted the light shade of green on her friend's face before focusing back on Klaus who despite smirking slightly at the memory, still had an unsure look in his eye "Dude, you aren't dying. He is playing with you. Now kind of busy. Try not to rip out your own bones like a fish. Bye!"

With that, she hung up and focused back on Rebekah who was now staring back at her with wide disbelieving eyes "Why are you trusted with the stake?!"

Klaus hadn't even given her a slight inkling to where he had kept it hidden following Buffy taking it back off Elena before their trip to Nova Scotia.

Every time she had tried to ask where it was, he simply reminded her that she had already been the cause of it getting taken once so clearly she couldn't be trusted with its location.

"Slayer duh?" Buffy chimed teasingly as she jumped off the hood of the car and slowly started to head toward the bar across the street so she could fuel up. She hadn't eaten in hours and unlike Rebekah who had walking meals everywhere in sight, she didn't have that luxury.

Although, it was blood, so ew.

She much preferred her diet over that of the Original family.

"I need food." She declared suddenly causing Rebekah to groan in annoyance, not that Buffy cared.

She needed a normal human diet to keep going, unlike Rebekah. The sooner she fueled up, the sooner they could get moving again.

She just wanted to find this damn cure and shove it down Rebekah's throat so it couldn't be used on her or Klaus. Then she could go get her daughter and get the hell away from Mystic Falls and everyone there.

Rebekah grumbled in annoyance before moving to follow Buffy into the bar across the street. As much as she wanted to argue that they should just get back into the car, not only did Buffy actually need food to function, but she also had the White Oak Stake. There was no way she was arguing with her while that stake was within reaching distance.

"Just be quick."

Grinning over her shoulder, Buffy stuck her tongue out before pushing open the door of the bar "Bex, I need a cheeseburger and a drink. Because while you are my favorite, being in a car with you for long bursts of time has me wanting to shove your head into the wheel and drive really fast till it pops off. Come on, Rebekah one drink some food. I don't live on blood."

Reluctantly following Buffy into the bar which smelt more like old people than anything, Rebekah let her eyes focus on the bottles of booze. To be honest, after so long on the road, checking town after town with no success, maybe a drink was a good idea.

One drink then they could get moving again.

The second Buffy spotted the shift on Rebekah's face, she grinned in success before skipping over to the bar happily. Taking one of the blue velvet stools, she grabbed the food menu before focusing on the cute Asian bartender currently polishing cutlery "Two martini please..." Her eyes scanned the list of food on the menu, light filling her eyes and drool starting to form "And a cheeseburger with waffle fries."

"You got it." The bartender said quickly moving to hand the two girls their drinks before heading off to the kitchen to organize Buffy's food order.

Buffy laughed as she spotted the way Rebekah's entire body naturally relaxed the second she took a sip of her drink "Feel better cranky pants?" She teased as she took a sip of her own drink before biting into one of her olives.

Despite trying hard not to, Rebekah couldn't help but smile as she spotted that teasing all-knowing smirk forming on Buffy's face "Maybe."

She would never admit complete defeat.

Buffy just chuckled at the reluctant answer before clinking their glasses together. Swallowing down the last few drops of her drink, Buffy turned her focus back to the bartender who was re-entering the room. Tapping her glass, she watched carefully as he refilled the empty glass before letting her eyes drift to the wall of photos along the back wall of the bar.

There were thousands of photos, all of different faces smiling at the camera.

From high school graduates celebrating in their caps and gowns, an anniversary party smiling around a massive happy 30th cake, a mixture of different birthday celebrations, and even a few bachelorette parties. Given how small this town was, clearly, this place was the local hang-out.

Willoughby's version of The Grill or The Bronze.

The one spot everyone went for a night out because there wasn't a lot of town, so very few options on where to let loose.

Quickly another photo drew her attention, causing her eyes to widen like saucers. Without hesitation she started frantically slapping Rebekah's shoulder, not once moving her eyes away from the photo that had her completely captivated.

Rebekah jumped in shock as Buffy continued slapping her shoulder like a woman possessed "Bloody hell Buffy!" Her drink was knocked over but it didn't cause Buffy to falter, she just kept slapping like a crazy person or a small toddler who had just heard the echo of the ice cream truck passing their house "Are you having a bleeding seizure?!"

"No!" Buffy squealed as she quickly jumped over the bar, her eyes for the first time shifting away from the photo as she spotted the bartender about to kick her out "I can do whatever I want."

"You're allowed to do whatever you want." He repeated back at her as his eyes glazed over and his voice dropped coming out flatly before he turned away. Letting Buffy do whatever she wanted without any further complaints.

Quickly snatching the photo off the wall, Buffy tossed it over to Rebekah.

Rolling her eyes, Rebekah wiped the contents of her drink that had spilled all over her hands with a napkin before finally glancing down at the polaroid photo that had Buffy buzzing like a wild cavewoman who had just seen fire for the first time.

Rebekah froze.

There reflected back at her were two very familiar faces. Katherine and Mary. Her sister had her arm looped around Katherine's waist as the two of them grinned up at the camera, both of them clutching glasses of red wine.

Her sister was really here.

With Katherine.

Her blood boiled with hurt at the realization that in her grief, Mary had once again gone to Katherine, pulling away from their family. A part of her had been hoping that Katherine would be alone, that Mary hadn't rushed off back to her the second she found out about Kol's death. Their family had been coming back together, yet with Kol's death and what had happened to Buffy, once again, Mary had drifted away. Running off to Katherine, hiding away from their vow.

"They were here."

Buffy just nodded, her drink and food order long forgotten as she shot into action. Grabbing the bartender by the shoulder she yanked him back to her so that she could look right into his adorable chocolate-colored eyes "Cutie, question, that photo-" She pointed to the photo in Rebekah's hands "When was it put up?"

The bartender just shrugged "I updated it yesterday. That is from the new batch."

It was a recent photo. A very recent photo.

Which meant that there was a chance Katherine and Mary, along with The Cure were still in Willoughby.

Without hesitation, Buffy grabbed the photo shoving it into his face, her finger pointed directly at Katherine's face "This girl, do you know where she is?"

The bartender stared at the photo for a long moment before slowly his brows started to furrow in confusion, a fuzzy feeling surrounding his head "I've never seen her before."

"That is you in the background pouring their drinks." Buffy deadpanned bluntly before placing her hands on his shoulders, her green eyes dilating as she focused on his very cute face "Where is she?"

He just sputtered, blinking frantically "I—I don't know. I haven't seen her face."

Rebekah let out a frustrated growl at his confusion "Compulsion. That bitch is smart. Probably compelled the whole town to forget about her the second she wasn't around."

Buffy growled in frustration before jumping back over the countertop, tossing a few 20s onto the bar before she and Rebekah started heading toward the door. Quickly snatching a sandwich off a random guy's plate, she took a bite of it ignoring his yells as she stepped out of the bar.

Taking another bite of her stolen snack, Buffy and Rebekah eyed the streets of the small town around them.

"Let's find Waldo."

So far, the two blondes hadn't had much luck in their search for Katherine.

Katherine was like Houdini!

It was beyond annoying.

Spotting the incoming text from Klaus, demanding to get some update on where The Cure was and for her to bring it straight to him, Buffy groaned in annoyance.

Now that the mind manipulation Silas had been using on him had broken, he had been spamming her phone.

"You're brother is a pest."

Rebekah snorted as she was met again with Marianna's voicemail before shifting her gaze to her friend, watching as Buffy switched her phone onto silent, though it continued to light up every five seconds. Clearly, Klaus was growing desperate for attention. Now that Silas had threatened him and was taunting him, he was probably isolating himself to ensure that Silas didn't go near Joy. But without the baby to keep him focused and no siblings around, he was clearly losing his mind.

Klaus never did well on his own, it was why he always insisted on the family being together. Sometimes more intently than even Elijah.

"He is in love with you and he is being taunted by someone stronger than him."

Buffy just grumbled in annoyance "He is not in love with me." She stated blandly before turning down the next street, the local post office appearing in her line of vision "And he can deal with Silas for a few hours as long as it keeps the creep away from Joy."

Suddenly Buffy froze in her steps, a familiar scent washing over her.

A perfume. A very nice expensive perfume that she had only ever smelt on one person in her life.

"She was here."

Katherine was in this area. Her spine was tingling at the realization. The perfume and the sense of a vampire were causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand up straight "Recently."

"Slayer sense?" Rebekah questioned as her spine straightened, her eyes frantically searching every corner of the area they were in. If it was Buffy's Slayer sense going haywire then Katherine had to be nearby. Slayers could sense vampires and Buffy's sense was 10 times more powerful than that of a human Slayer. A 500-year-old vampire running around would have her senses screaming that danger was around.

Thank god for the Slayer-Danger locator.

Buffy just hummed as she started walking into the parking lot outside of the post office "Mixture of slayer danger sense and Katherine's perfume. Remind me to ask her where she got it after we torture The Cure out of her."

Rebekah laughed "I do love that your priority is the perfume."

"And what product she uses for her curls." Buffy chimed up before sighing "You take the inside, I take the outside?"

"Got it."

There was a sharp gust of air and Rebekah vanished from sight, going to search the inside of the building for their missing Petrova vampire.

Now on her own, Buffy let her eyes flutter shut, trying to draw on her power the way Kol had shown her to before his death. To focus on that feeling in her gut, the one trying to warn her when danger was coming; when a threat was intent on reigning down chaos.

There was a slight shift in the air which had Buffy letting out a small chuckle "Not the place I would have thought you would settle."

The heels behind her came to a screeching halt cueing Buffy to smirk as she spun around, her eyes quickly focusing on the vampire standing opposite her.

The two of them faced off, like they had done so many times in the past.

"Hello, Katherine."

Katherine just grumbled in annoyance, her plan had been to snap Buffy's neck then bolt before The Original could appear. That clearly wasn't going to be an option now. Letting her eyes scan the pink sundress and mixture of blonde and black hair, Katherine quirked a curious brow.

There was something different about Buffy.

She just couldn't pinpoint what it was.

"What can I say, I'm full of surprises. I like the hair."

"Thanks." Buffy chimed as she tapped her nails against her forearms, her eyes not shifting away from Katherine for even a second "So, this is the part where you try and run and I rip your spine out."

"Or we could chat." Katherine argued as she slowly approached the blonde, who surprisingly hadn't killed her on sight. When she had first spotted Buffy she had panicked. She had slaughtered the girl's brother so had imagined that Buffy was here to achieve her vengeance...yet she was surprisingly calm, unbothered.

Not an ounce of grief in her eyes.

Yet, there was emotion. Buffy wasn't just a piece of emotionless cardboard, her eyes were dancing with amusement and mischief.

It was interesting.

"You haven't killed me which means you want something. And I have a feeling, we could make a deal."

If anyone could get Klaus to give her freedom, it would be the woman who provided him an heir.

Buffy chuckled as she perched her hip against the delivery truck parked next to her "Not the deal-making type, but no biggy I will be getting what I want. But she had dibs on the first hit-"

Before Katherine could even utter a word, Rebekah appeared, shoving her hand into the doppelgängers's spine, paralyzing her from the waist down causing her to scream in utter agony as nails continued to crush her bones "Long time Katerina. I believe the three of us, should have a girly chat. Don't you think?"

**

Buffy was fully content right now.

Despite the fact the booth she was sitting in was surrounded by awkward tension as Rebekah continued to glare at Katherine, Buffy found herself in a rather pleasant mode.

Ripping off a piece from her garlic bread she dipped it into her bowl of five-spice chill before tossing it into her mouth, humming at the splurge of fantastic flavors jumping off her tongue.

While this little cafe looked like it hadn't been updated since the 60s and the wallpaper was literally peeling off the walls, Buffy had to admit, the food was actually amazing. This was one of the best bowls of chili she'd ever had.

As she swallowed her bite, Buffy glanced at the far too-relaxed Katherine who despite being positioned directly next to Rebekah seemed as happy and cocky as ever.

It was ironic, that despite being the weakest of the three girls, Katherine had leverage over both of them. She was the one holding The Cure which meant they couldn't just kill her and she was clearly amused by how angry Rebekah looked. If this was a cartoon, steam would be spilling from her ears, no doubt about it.

"Where is my sister?" Rebekah grunted out as she continued to glare at the still-smirking Katherine "I assume she doesn't know that you have The Cure?"

"She knows." Katherine chimed as she just stared down at her nails before grinning at Rebekah smugly "What? Upset that she didn't tell you she knew where it was? Always and Forever, hmm, I think not."

Rolling her eyes, Buffy pointed her chilli-covered spoon at Katherine "You think antagonizing an Original is a good idea? Not a great plan. If you are banking on her not killing you for Mary...dead wrong."

The Mikaelson's dropped their sibling's partners six feet under like it was an Olympic sport.

There was literally only a handful of partners that had survived being involved with a member of the Mikaelson family.

Sure enough, Katherine faltered for a split second before forcing her face to remain smug "What do you want Buffy?"

"Shoes, a new crossbow, oh, and The Cure duh." Buffy chimed as she threw another piece of chili-covered garlic bread into her mouth "So where is it? You tell me now, I kill you quick. You take too long, I call Klaus back and we throw a Katherine torture party."

Something she knew for a fact he would definitely enjoy. Buffy was almost positive that he had at least six notebooks just filled with torture ideas all for the one and only Katherine Pierce.

That certainly had Katherine more nervous.

This wasn't Damon or Stefan threatening her who she could destroy without breaking a sweat, this was two members of the Original family holding her captive. Not only had Rebekah always hated her since the moment they met five hundred years ago, but she had killed Buffy's brother and ruined Klaus's chance to break his curse all those centuries ago.

She actually felt fear creeping up into her chest.

Klaus and Buffy were terrifying together and if she was stuck with both of them, she would be beyond screwed.

Taking a shaky breath she tilted her head "What no, I'm here to avenge my annoying little brother speech?"

Buffy rolled her eyes as she broke off another piece of garlic bread "Seriously? That was the best you could come up with? What are you hoping for? That I snap giving you a chance to run before we take The Cure? Kind of disappointing Kit-Kat."

Clenching her jaw, Katherine leaned back in her seat before focusing back on Buffy, something quickly occurring to her "Shouldn't you be like a million months pregnant right now."

Sure enough, for the first time, Katherine spotted anger and fear flashing through Buffy's eyes. However, it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.

Something had clearly gone down with the miracle pregnancy.

"Magical hyjinx." Buffy answered blandly. There was no way in hell she was giving Katherine any details about her pregnancy or her daughter. She wouldn't put it past Katherine to try and use Joy to gain her freedom. The fact that she didn't know the baby had already been born meant that not even Mary had trusted her with the information.

Clearly, this friendship or whatever the hell they had didn't exactly contain a lot of trust at its core.

Rebekah fought back a smug grin at that as she clicked that her sister despite rushing off with Katherine again, clearly didn't trust her as much as Katherine thought she did.

Slowly black veins flickered in and out across Buffy's face and in less than a second, she pulled out a knife from her boot and sliced Katherine's index finger clean off, just like she had done to John Gilbert all those years ago. As Katherine let out a shocked scream, Buffy picked up the severed digit and forcibly grabbed her chin.

Katherine did not get to mention her daughter.

She was not here for ideal chit-chat.

"So wanna keep up with the 20 questions? Or do you want to keep the rest of your fingers?" If Katherine wanted to have 10 fingers then she would need the bloody finger back so the skin would re-stick together, or at least that was what Buffy thought. She wasn't actually sure if vampires could regrow body parts and she doubted Katherine wanted to test the theory.

Clutching her blood-soaked four-fingered hand to her chest, Katherine gritted her teeth before glaring over at Buffy who was dumping the finger into a glass of ice.

"You seem different."

Understatement of the century.

Buffy chuckled as she wiped the blood from her blade before focusing back on her food "Demon side on parade. It's been a blast."

Katherine let out a shocked breath as she finally took into account the dark strands of Buffy's long hair, blending in with the blonde "Demon side huh." She had to admit, this side of Buffy was kind of fun to see "So sad for the boys, if you haven't killed them that is. Their special warrior princess of sunlight playing mistress of pain. It's a good look on you, you're just missing the dark makeup and corset."

Rolling her eyes, Buffy leaned back in her seat ignoring the slight flirty glint in Katherine's eyes "I slept with Klaus, a lot. It kind of taints the whole Susie sunshine thing. Though, totally worth it."

Rebekah groaned in disgust; she had already walked in on the horror that was Klaus and Buffy, she did not need to relive it "Gross."

Katherine laughed in amusement at the disgusted expression on Rebekah's face "Well if we're going to be here a while I'm gonna go grab some menus." The second she tried to stand, a fork was stabbed into her other hand pinning her to the table. Rebekah grinned as Katherine yelped in shock before shoving the fork further into her flesh "You're running out of hands, so do sit love. You're not going anywhere."

Reluctantly sitting back down, Katherine clenched her jaw in agony before glaring over at Rebekah "I forgot how charming you were." She spat out venomously.

Rebekah couldn't help but glare "I'm surprised you remember me at all, seeing as though you were so busy manipulating my sister into being your little protector."

Before Rebekah could start ripping Katherine into tiny little pieces though, a waitress walking over with Buffy's order of onion rings unknowingly saved her. As her eyes scanned the blood soaking Katherine's left hand which was missing a finger, the fork in her right hand pinning her to the table and the severed limb in a glass of ice, she sputtered in horror "Oh, my God. What happened?"

Buffy took her onion rings before focusing her eyes on the waitress "You didn't see anything strange."

There was a slight shift before once again, the waitress grinned and picked up Buffy's empty bowl of chili "You ladies let me know if you need anything else." She chimed sweetly before walking away without a second glance.

With the human no longer starting at the mess that was Katherine's current state, Buffy shifted her focus to the vampire, black veins flickering across her hairline as she narrowed her gaze dangerously "Now, I get you two hate each other. I get that because you Miss 500-year-old looney are the reason that Always and Forever started to crumble, whatever, blah-bla, you're both bitter. Do we have to chat about it all day?" She snarked before focusing back on Rebekah "Bex, we are here for a reason."

They were not here to dive into the complicated history Katherine had with the Mikaelson family.

Swallowing her own resentment, Rebekah forced herself to focus. As much as she hated it, Buffy was right. They were here to get The Cure before Damon and Stefan showed up and screwed it all up, now was not the time to bring up centuries of jealousy and resentment that she held for Katherine. With a new determination, she focused back on Katherine, forcibly grabbing her jaw, her fingers pressed against her so tightly that she could hear the slight crack of bones under the skin "Where is The Cure?"

Katherine smirked, "I'm sorry, I'm on vervain."

"Ooh, I get to torture it out of you. Fun."

The prospect of torture had Buffy's eyes lighting up with excitement "Yay! Can we skip to the torture? I have been wanting to see if I can actually turn a rib cage into a hat after all the times I threaten to do it. Pretty please."

Despite the fact she was literally talking about torturing and gutting Katherine open, Buffy looked adorable, with big eyes filled with excitement, her hands cupping her own cheeks.

It was just all the more creepy.

Rebekah shook her head in amusement and nudged the nervous Katherine mockingly "Her demon side loves torture. You should see what she did to Stefan, quite entertaining."

That had Katherine clenching her jaw in a slight panic. If Buffy had willingly messed with Stefan of all people, then it was not a good sign for her. If Buffy so much as got a hand on her, she was going to be turned inside out, she could feel it in her gut. Honestly, she was half expecting Buffy to skin her alive just for the hell of it.

If Buffy's love of torture wasn't currently focused on her, Katherine would have actually found it quite enticing.

"Why do you two want it?" She deflected, trying to keep them busy long enough so she could figure a way out of there and get to Mary.

Rebekah merely frowned "The question is why do you want it? Let me guess to kill Niklaus."

Buffy clenched her jaw at that, black drowning out the green in her eyes as she leaned forward in her seat, her harsh dangerous glare focused on Katherine. No one was touching Klaus.

Plus, if anyone was going to kill Klaus one day it was her.

She had dibs.

"Be careful with your answer."

Katherine merely scoffed in annoyance, this wasn't exactly how she wanted to spend the day "I've spent the last 500 years running from your big brother. I have no intention of being within sniffing distance of him. But since it can be used against him, I'm sure he's just itching to get his hands on it. I give him the cure, he gives me my freedom."

Terrible idea.

Would never happen.

Klaus would take The Cure then the second she turned her back, rip out her liver and dump her in a coffin at the bottom of the ocean for a few decades just to torture her.

Plus, Buffy fully intended to ensure Katherine was never free. There was something appealing about watching the woman suffer. Running for her life, constantly looking over her shoulder, and never being able to truly have a moment of peace in some ways was a fate worse than death.

It was mental torture at its finest. Making someone so scared just at the sound of your name being uttered around them.

"Aw, honey. I'll make sure he doesn't. Giving birth to his child helps with the him owing me."

Katherine's eyes widened at that. Okay, maybe she hadn't thought about how Buffy and Klaus being so on and off would affect her "I'm a changed girl Buffy. I deserve a chance right."

Buffy rolled her eyes a loud snort escaping her "Sure. And I'm still human." Even if Katherine had the ability to change, she sure as hell hadn't "Hey, you want to prove it? Let's slice off that pretty skin and see if your insides are still ice."

With that declaration, Rebekah forcibly dug into Katherine's jacket ripping her phone free before tossing the phone over to Buffy "Now, my sister is dodging my calls. I have a feeling she won't yours."

"Maybe she can't stand the sound of your constant whining for a human life." Katherine shot back only to groan as Rebekah slammed her face first against the table with a violent thud causing her nose to crack, the bone impaling her skull causing blood to spill from her left eye.

Okay, bringing up the fractured relationship between the two sisters was clearly not the best idea.

Buffy shook her head in amusement before her eyes widened as she spotted the notification appear on Katherine's phone "Looks like Mary is on her way to town anyway. You two are supposed to meet at the Gazebo. Hmm, shame you won't make it."

Rebekah quirked a curious brow before shaking her head in amusement "You go meet my sister. I shall keep Katherine company." There was no way she was letting Katherine out of her sight while they still didn't have The Cure.

Katherine scoffed as she forced her nose back into place "And what are you going to do? The second May sees you, you're dead." She snapped shifting her gaze to Buffy "She is a witch Buffy, you won't be able to get close."

"And I'm a demonic hybrid that is immune to magical attacks. And the mother of her brother's kid." Buffy stated with a bored tone before swallowing the last of her onion rings and starting to slip on her jacket only to pause as she eyed the leather jacket covering Katherine's arms.

"Swap?"

Katherine scoffed only to falter as she allowed her eyes to scan the pink jacket that Buffy was wearing. As much as she hated to admit it, she did love Buffy's sense of style "Fine." Yanking off her own jacket she tossed it over to Buffy who tossed over her own.

Yanking on the soft leather Buffy smiled as she slid her fingers along the hem "I hate you, but I do love your clothes." As Katherine opened her mouth, Buffy moved forward and before the doppelgänger could even blink, Buffy had her hands wrapped tightly around the vampire's tongue yanking on it tightly causing her to gag "One snarky remark and I cut it out. You try and run, I cut more than it off. Understand?"

Leaving the threat hanging in the air, Buffy stepped back and grabbed her bag.

"I am weirdly attracted to you right now."

Buffy shivered in horror at the statement "Ewww. You need therapy."
