Y/N walked back to where her car was parked after exiting the bakery.
Getting inside she started up its engine and made her way home. The sun peeked out from the grey clouds before hiding behind them once more.
Y/N shifted in her seat sipping her hot beverage as she halted at a stoplight. Her shoulder blades were killing her, a sore and tense feeling in her muscles.
Y/N let out a sigh as she put her foot on the gas once more.
'' How about we go for a little stretch.'' She said to no one in particular, turning onto the highway heading out of the city.
'' I haven't done that in a while now have I.''
After about a thirty-minute drive she turned off the main highway and along some old roads that lead to farms around the area.
When Y/N was little her mother would come out there with her to one of the farms and 'stretch' as she called it.
The people who owned the farm where family friends and were trusted with their so-called secret. Over the years they have never even peeped about it, making it a safe place for Y/N to go and relax.
Y/N drove up the dirt road to an old-fashioned but cute house. Stepping out of the car she made her way to the door knocking on it.
When there was no reply she picked up one of the flower pots and took the spear key out from under it, unlocking the door and heading inside.
Stepping through the door, and walking into the kitchen Y/N picked up a neatly folded note on the table. Opening it she read.
'My dear Y/N, I had a feeling I should leave a note just in case you stopped by. I am down helping my neighbor take care of a few fallen trees. Taehyung will be with me so don't worry. Feel free to head down to the field and get some exercise. Soobin.
P.S. There are some snacks in the fridge. '
Y/N smiled placing the note back down on the table walking over to the fridge and opening it. There was a small pack of strawberry yogurt with a sticking note and smiling face on it.
Closing the fridge Y/N shed her coat placing it on one of the kitchen chairs also leaving her scarf as she walked out the back door.
Her hands brushed along the long wheat-colored grass as she headed down into the field. She smiled, grateful to have people she could trust. But her smile was short-lived as she thought of her good friend Taehyung. He had no idea what she was. Seeing as he moved to the farm a few years after the others were told.
A chilly wind picked up causing her to shiver just a little seeing as she was only wearing a knee-high dress with lowcut back along with black winter tights.
Heading down further into the field out of eyeshot of anyone who might be around Y/N rolled her shoulders, the two slits in her shoulder blades turning a little red.
Y/N closed her eyes relaxing her body as she felt her wings break free, the acing feeling before leaving her as her wings stretched out pointing towards the sky, and then falling gracefully behind her. Over the years her wings had grown bigger, a dark blue color appearing at the tips of her wings feathers.
She let out a content sigh looking up at the grey clouds above. Excitement rushed throughout her body at the thought of dipping in and out between the clouds.
'' It wouldn't hurt to fly for a little right?'' She said to herself, her wings spreading out on instinct as she crouched a little. With one strong beat of her wings, she lifted herself off the ground climbing up into the sky.
The wind rushed past her face as she got just high enough to see the entire valley and farms bellow.
Her eyes sparkled a smile growing, a familiar wild feeling taking over her entire being. She soared up into the clouds dipping in and out with ease and grace.
She let out a hum of delight a few tears flying past her face. She tucked her wings and dived towards the ground and just before hitting it, her wings spread out wide lifting her, and then gracefully floating down making the gentle landing.
Her wings began to shrink into her back and soon enough disappeared.
Looking down at the ground she picked up on of the giant black feathers that had fallen from her wings. Groaning she turned around heading back to the house.
'' Thank god it's not molting season yet.'' She groaned. That would have been a pain, looking for all those feathers in a giant field.
But those were the rules of course. No evidence left behind. Although Y/N always stayed at home when molting time came around. Of course, her house would be full of feathers but then again no one would even know that.
She tucked the black feather behind her ear as she climbed her way up the field. From a distance, her keen eyes caught sight of Soobin's truck. A smile made its way onto her face as she made her way towards it.
She heard faint voices and one of the truck doors opened. A tall figure stepped out making Y/N halt in her tracks for a second.
The pair of deep brown eyes squinted at her from afar before widening, winkles appearing under their eyes as they started sprinting towards her.
Y/N's eyes went wide for a split second seeing the figure run towards her, but then she relaxed her lips pulling into a soft smile, seeing the oh so familiar box smile coming closer.
It wasn't long before she was swept off her feet into a huge hug, being swung around.
'' Y/N! ''
Y/N laughed hugging her arms around his shoulders.
'' Hello, Tae!''
Taehyung smiled up at her before placing her down an excited giggle leaving him as he turned to an older looking man.
'' Old man why didn't you tell me Y/N was coming to visit?!''
Soobin smiled shaking his head nodding towards Y/N who smiled at him.
'' I wanted to surprise you.'' She said looking up at him, her soft smile remaining.
Taehyung laughed before pouting and pinching Y/N cheeks causing her to whine in protest.
'' Why didn't you visit sooner, I haven't seen you in months!''
'' I halth been buslthy.'' Y/N tried to say and he pulled on her cheeks.
'' Enough Taeyhung you're hurting her cheeks,'' Soobin said in a gruff but gentle voice.
Taehyung instantly let go of her cheeks eyes wide as he apologized rubbing her cheeks as she protested saying she was fine.
'' Come on you two, Y/N I assume you are staying for lunch,'' Soobin said turning away and heading inside.
Taehyung smiled grabbing her hand and pulling her along behind him.
As they both stepped inside The feather fell from Y/N's hair to the ground catching Taeyhungs eye.
'' Wow, where did you find this Y/N it's massive!'' Taehyung asked picking it up marveling at its silking touch.
'' Oh um I just found it in the field, must be from a crow or something.''
'' A big one by the looks of it!'' Taehyung said excitedly while Y/N nervously looked to Soobin who simply chuckled and winked.
That calmed Y/N down a little as she smiled and looked over to the young man still ogling over the feather.
'' You can keep it if you want.''
Taehyung looked at her with shining eyes. '' Wait really?!''
'' Tae inside voice.'' Soobin scolded.
Taehyung quieted down leaning over to Y/N whispering.
'' Really?''
She let out a soft chuckle nodding.
'' Mhmm I don't need it.''
' Especially since I have like a billion at home. ' She thought to herself.
Taehyung beamed sticking it in his hair.
'' Do I look more dashing this way?'' He said deepening his voice till it sounded like a croaking toad, causing Y/N to choke on the water Soobin had handed her, as she wheezed.
Soobin patted her back worriedly only to have Y/N wave him off kindly.
Once she had caught her breath she sent a playful glare over to a smirking Taehyung.
'' I thought I told you not to do that while I'm eating or drinking!''
Taehyung rolled his eyes playfully. ''It's your fault you think its funny.''
'' Well it's your fault for soundly like a drunk toad!''
'' Yah!'' Taehyung yelled making Y/N fall back in her chair laughing.
Soobin shook his head at the two as he set two plates on the table.
Y/N's brows furrowed looking up at him.
'' Arent you going to eat with us?''
'' I still have some work to finish up, I'll eat later.''
Y/N pouted ever so slightly letting out a sigh. A chuckle escaped the old man as he pats her head.
'' I will hopefully see you next time you visit.''
Y/N smiled at him nodding as he left out the door once more.
Y/N looked over to Taehyung who was already stuffing his face full of food.
'' How has he been Taehyung?'' She asks picking up her fork.
Taehyung looked up at her and swallowed wiping his mouth.
'' Better.''
'' And his leg?''
'' Much better, he can jog again.''
Y/N sighed in relief shoving a fork full of food in her mouth glad to hear some positive news.
Taehyung watched her for a few moments before speaking again.
'' How have you been Y/N?''
'' Oh you know works all good, I had a cold but it's gone now-''
'' Y/N I mean how have you been....since the last time I say you.''
Y/N looked up at him swallowing and looking back down at her plate.
'' I've been ok..'' She said barely over a whisper.
'' You sure, because we can talk about it if you wan-''
'' I'm fine Tae I promise.'' Y/N interrupted giving him a tight smile.
Taehyung watched as Y/N played with her food, concern swimming in his eyes. The last time he saw Y/N she had been crying alone until he found her curled up in one of the fields.
'' Do you miss her?'' He asked
Y/N looked up at him her eyes glassy as she gave him a sad smile.
''Every day.''
