As a honey bee hybrid, life was anything but glamorous. In fact, it was lonely. You were technically considered a Queen bee, but without any family or other similar hybrids, the title was basically useless. Being a bee was not a coveted mix for hybrids, so they were very rare. In fact, your parents had been the only ones you'd ever met. Instead, you simply tended to your garden, your hives, and ran your nursery business. Recently you'd even began thinking about expanding and having a little honey themed cafe as well. You'd called a highly rated accountant to come and go over your finances with you so you could make a plan for it, and he was due today.
As the bell over your nursery door chimed, long-dormant instincts flared inside of you as the man entered. His easy smile slipped as his eyes widened. He dropped his briefcase onto the ground as he fell into a bow.
"My Queen," he greeted, voice tinged with joy and awe.
