FEATURED POEM
The Snow that never drifts
By Emily Dickinson
The Snow that never drifts --
The transient, fragrant snow
That comes a single time a Year
Is softly driving now --
So thorough in the Tree
At night beneath the star
That it was February's Foot
Experience would swear --
Like Winter as a Face
We stern and former knew
Repaired of all but Loneliness
By Nature's Alibit --
Were every storm so spice
The Value could not be --
We buy with contrast -- Pang is good
As near as memory --

Lyttlejoe's Busted Gulch Volume 12:
Jacob and Bruce had a few choice words for one another at the birthday dinner Brandy was having for Jacob's birthday. The evening didn't turn out well. 3Gun is still has an uneasy feeling, and it didn't get any better after speaking with Mrs. Heckler about some strangers that showed up looking for the Mayor. Denver's family gathered for the meeting. A bit of hilarity ensued as 3Gun and AJ discussed what it meant to be a godfather to Lorne and Myna's twins. Brandy and Bruce had words as well, Bruce trying to answer some hard questions. Brandy ended up drawing her gun and....well. Bella seemed to come to a realization and found a paper among her late husbands that had a tremendous affect on her. It turns out that Brandy shot a bounty hunter that was after Bruce, but there was another one, and more trouble on the horizon.
If you want to find out what's next, head on over to The Storytellers Saloon and check out Lyttlejoe's Busted Gulch Volume 12!! Don't forget to add it to your reading list, new chapters are posted daily!
We don't have a December challenge for you yet. We are still working on building our following here at FFF. We really believe we can make a go of this but we need your help to spread the word. If you have any friends or followers that like to write flash fiction, please send them our way.

WITH A WATER-LILY
by Henrik Ibsen
SEE, dear, what thy lover brings;
'Tis the flower with the white wings.
Buoyed upon the quiet stream
In the spring it lay adream.
Homelike to bestow this guest,
Lodge it, dear one, in thy breast;
There its leaves the secret keep
Of a wave both still and deep.
Child, beware the tarn-fed stream;
Danger, danger, there to dream!
Though the sprite pretends to sleep,
And above the lilies peep.
Child, thy bosom is the stream;
Danger, danger, there to dream!
Though above the lilies peep,
And the sprite pretends to sleep.
