TRIGGER WARNINGS : talks about abusive relationship, death, kinda gore, sAdNeSs

Roman POV
"Wait wait wait," Logan said. "You two dated while in a mental hospital?"

"Yep," Damien said with an awkward laugh.

"Kinda weird in hindsight," Virgil said with a laugh.

"But no romantic feelings anymore," I said. "Right?"

"Yes Ro," Virgil sighed, laying his head on my shoulder.

"Good," I grumbled, wrapping an arm around him.

"Way to be subtle," Damien snickered.

"I'm sorry I can actually confess to my crush and date him," I retorted.

"And yet I dated him first," Damien laughed. I felt a blush rise to my face.

"Mine," I growled, pulling Virgil to my lap. Virgil struggled a bit before accepting it. He let out a long sigh.

"You all have problems," Remy laughed.

"We're all fucked up in the brain somehow," Damien sighed.

"Aw my poor little dark babies," Patton yelled, standing up and pulling both Damien and Virgil into a hug.

"How long do we have to stay here?" Quinn asked, obviously creeped out by being in an abandoned asylum.

"We can go soon," Virgil said. "But we have to visit two other places."

"Where?" I asked. "Why do you two want to be in a place that has so much trauma with it?"

"Okay, Princey, I get you aren't like us," Damien started. "But this place is full of nostalgia for us."

"So," Virgil said before I could argue more. "We want to visit the auditorium."

"Oh absolutely," Damien said. "Think they still have the old piano?"

"I will cry if they don't," Virgil laughed. "I mean they left everything else behind."

"C'mon," Damien said, standing up. Him and Virgil led the way out of the room.

We all followed slowly. No one seemed to comfortable being in an old abandoned asylum. This place is definitely aesthetically pleasing to some, but I'm not one of those people.

Maybe an abandoned castle. Or an old cottage in the woods. But not abandoned hospitals...especially asylums.

We headed down long twisting hallways that only seemed to make sense to Virgil and Damien.

Emile seemed extremely interested in this place. Keeping up with Virgil and Damien to ask them questions. We all know he wants to a therapist when he's older. Remy had to keep a constant eye on Emile to make sure he didn't wander off anywhere.

Eventually we entered a large auditorium. The left side of it had caved it, giving way to nature. The stage was broken a bit on that side but otherwise still in tack.

"This place is crazy," Patton mumbled, spinning around a bit.

"Understatement," Evan mumbled, holding tightly to Quinn. He looked scared.

"Now what?" I asked, but Virgil and Damien had run up to the stage. We all followed, crowding around the stage.

"It's still here," Virgil said happily, tapping a few keys on an extremely out of tune piano.

"Broken," Damien grimaced. "But these are here." He picked up a old fashioned hand fan and a deck of cards.

"Oh my god, fuck yes," Virgil said, grabbing the fan.

"Too bad Wylan isn't here anymore," Damien mumbled, holding up a small sack. It jingled with what sounded like money.

"Wonder where they buried him," Virgil mumbled, suddenly downfallen.

"Who's Wylan?" I asked, resting my elbows on the stage.

"One of our friends from here," Damien answered. "He was fucking crazy."

"Wasn't his fault though," Virgil added. "He got kidnapped by..." Virgil trailed off and looked over at Quinn.

"My dad," Quinn mumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Yeah," Virgil said. "Is okay if we talk about it?"

"I don't care," Quinn whispered. Evan rested his chin on Quinn's shoulder, looking up at him worriedly.

"Basically he was forced into relationship with Quinn's Dad. Abusive and rape and all that horrid stuff. He cuts off Wylan's arm and leg. Really fucked him up in the head," Damien explained. "He had a lot of health issues too, mostly heart problems."

"This...Wylan is dead now right?" Logan asked. "You were wondering where he had been buried."

"Yeah, he had a really bad episode with his heart this one time when he was outside. He ran into the forest and died." Virgil said softly. "He just kind of disappeared and no one could find him for weeks. Then they found the body..."

"That's horrible," Patton said, looking ready to burst into tears.

"We did this song from this musical, the three of us," Damien said with a laugh.

"And the thing still works...so..." Virgil laughed, pressing a button on a stereo. Then music started.

"We are friends are we not," Damien sang, sitting down at the table in the middle of the stage. "And our interests are the same."

"We collaborate," Virgil sang, flipping the fan open. "And trust in fate to parcel out the blame."

"There are ends we've all got," Damien sang. "That can justify the means."

"We negotiate," Virgil sang with a smirk, holding down his fan to show fake money behind it.

"Than fabricated the facts behind the scene," Damien sang, waving a hand in front of his face. "Keeping all the details vague and secrets hidden."

"Safe in the balanced sheet of those you trust," Virgil sang, now standing next to Damien.

"Because," Damien sang, slamming a fist on the table. "History is a story told by the winners of the fight."

"You imply a little,"

"Lie a little,"

"Testify a little,"

"Try a little sailor,"

"Who's gonna question what goes on in the middle of the night?" Virgil sang, sitting down at the table.

"Not a tinker,"

"Not a tailor,"

"Not his father or Mercedes,"

"Or a jailer,"

"So we all are agreed," Damien sang, resting his elbows on the table. "Lets be vigilant and wise."

"We must all pretend, our naïve friend was caught in his own lies," Virgil sang with a smirk.

"For our plan to succeed, we must share but one belief," Damien sang. "Edmund Dantes stays and ends his days inside the Château d'If!"

"Where the softest things he'll touch are stones and darkness," Virgil sang, resting a hand on his cheek in a dreamy way.

"Deep in the craggy isle and dungeons keep," Damien sang, mimicking Virgil's pose.

"Because history's a story told by the men who make the laws," Virgil sang dramatically.

"We supply a little lie," Damien sang. "To help the gullible to buy a little fable."

"What will become of the righteous man who fashioned Dantes' flaws?" Virgil sang with a worried face.

"The rich,"

"And well respected,"

"Are no more to be rejected at our table," Damien sang, spreading his hands on the table.

"I'll be comfort in her time of grief and anguish," Virgil sang.

"I'll be Mercedes' ever faithful acolyte, every night," Damien sang with a smirk.

"A part of me wishes Dantes didn't have to languish," Virgil said with a well put on doubtful face. "But I can see, it's him or me!"

"Let him sit there and rot till he's forgot!" Damien sang, standing up.

"Let him rot!" Virgil sang, also standing up.

"History's a story told by the people who survived!" They sang together, jumping up on the table.

"Let me sign and then initial," Virgil sang, shaking Damien's hand.

"It's the truth if it's officially the story," Damien sang.

"What if the cost is just one young man so three more can survive?" Virgil sang, looking at Damien.

"He's a price we have to pay," Damien sang to him. "To live and fight another day for love and glory."

"He was standing in the way of precious justice set on sails!" Virgil sang.

"So goes the story!" They sang together.

"Stick to the story," Damien sang, grabbing Virgil's hand.

"Here's ends the story!" The sang together, holding their joined hands up dramatically.

We all started clapping. As a theater kid, I could appreciate that. They did really good, especially Virgil.

But as we all gradually stopped clapping, a loud slow clapping persisted.
