“i don’t want to go,” you whisper to me as you eye the police station. “i’m not going to answer them anyways.”
i look at you and frown deeply. “they just want to know, jasper.”
“they’re not going to know anything, val—“
“like being pronounced missing for over a year isn’t nothing worth knowing,” i scoff, crossing my arms. you blink at my retort and you rub circles on your temples.
“i can’t say,” you whisper. “or—“
“what the fuck exactly happened to you during those months?” i asked quietly, interrupting. your eyes go wide at my tone and you begin to open your mouth when a voice drowns out whatever you were about to say.
“jasper evans, they want to see you now,” the receptionist calls over her desk. you stand up and look to the floor.
“i kept you safe,” you whisper. you walk and i stare at your retreating back as the receptionist leads you to where the investigators are.
