Skylar’s POV
“Get out of my way Eddy.” I said sternly trying to walk past him but he failed to listen.
“Why won’t you just talk to me Sky?”
“Because Eddy, we’re over. I don’t want to talk to you, especially when you stalked me to Hawaii!”
“I wasn’t stalking you!” He said now walking by my side.
“So you just happened to be in Hawaii when I was?”
No answer.
“That’s what I thought!”
I tried to speed walk a little faster but he was quick to stay by my side.
“Just give me another chance,”
“No Eddy. Why can’t you understand that I’m happy with Harry?”
“Because what we had was amazing and I screwed that up but I want another chance.”
“Sorry, but I don’t want to have any type of relationship with you. Just leave me alone.”
God, I cannot believe I ever dated him? I mean, did I never notice how annoying he is or how clingy he was? Like we didn’t even date that long, He’s acting like we were fully in love.
“Your worth fighting for, even if that means I’m up against that little super star.”
I stopped in my tracks.
“Don’t even think about messing with Harry or any of the boys.” I said turning to face him.
“If that’s what I have to do to get you back then that’s what I’ll do.”
“Are you kidding me right now? Take a hint Eddy, we are over. We’ve been over for a while now. You need to move on.”
“It’s not that easy. I can prove to you that we still love each other.”
“I was never in love with you. We dated for two days! And I hardly knew you that definitely wasn’t love.”
He took a step closer to me. “You don’t mean that.”
I took a step away from him; I didn’t want him thinking that he had any type of effect on me, because he didn’t.
“But I do.”
“You’ll give in one day, I know it. When your little lover boy breaks your heart remember, I’ll be waiting here with my arms wide open.”
He turned around and took off in the other direction that I was walking in.
I continue to walk towards the exit until I was finally outside.
I wiped my hand over my face trying to clear myself. Can’t he just leave me alone? Everything in my life was finally going perfectly and now he’s back.
I don’t understand why he can’t get over me. I mean, he hit me for crying out loud. And I forgave him. What more does he want from me? Honestly, he’s pushing it. He should be happy that I forgave him in the first place. Now he’s expecting me to fall at his feet for him? Who does he think I am? I’m not stupid enough to just walk back into his life as though nothing has ever happened.
I walked up to my bedroom and immediately crawled into my soft bed. I actually have no Idea how I was able to leave my bed this morning. I mean, my bed is way more welcoming than school is.
I sighed as I rested my head on the pillow.
I hate the fact that I can’t get my mind off Eddy. I don’t want to say he scares me but deep down I know it’s true. I guess since he hit me I’ll always be a bit paranoid in the back of my head, but once again, nothing will happen because I want to stay as far away from him as I can.
It can’t be that hard, can it? I mean, he does need to concentrate on school so it’s not like he’ll be around me 24/7.
I shut my eyes, hopefully I’d be lucky enough to take a quick nap but my eyes shot open when I felt an arm wrap around me.
I recognised the touch though.
His touch made my stomach flutter.
It was Harry.
I smiled as I snuggled into his chest.
“When did you get here?” I asked.
“Two seconds ago, you miss me?”
“Of course I did,”
“How was school?”
“It was fun; I met a lot of people,” I paused. Should I tell Harry about Eddy? I know he’ll get mad if he knows that Eddy and I have a class together, but I know he’ll get even madder if I don’t tell him.
I’ve decided that I’ll tell him later. I’ll tell him later because I’m too comfy right now in his arms and telling him about Eddy will only make him let go of me.
“That’s good, did you get homework?”
“Thankfully I didn’t.”
“Good because you and I have a date.”
“Oh do we now?”
“Yes we do,” He smiled cheekily.
“Where’s this date at?”
“It’s at a yummy restaurant.”
“As tempting as that is, I’m pretty comfy right here.” I mumbled, resting my head on his chest.
“I know, but I want to take you out and spend time with you before the tour.”
I smiled at him and pecked him lightly on the lips.
“You’re right, let’s go.”
I slid out of bed and walked over to Harry, entwining my fingers with his as he led me out of the house and into his car.
Once we arrived at the restaurant I realised that I was actually pretty hungry. We were seated at a booth at some Italian restaurant and the aroma was making my stomach growl in hunger.
“Someone’s hungry,” Harry said laughing
“Shut up.” I pouted wrapping my arms around my stomach.
“You’re cute when you’re hungry,”
“I bet I am,” I answered sarcastically, letting a laugh escape my lips.
After waiting a little while the waiter finally came. He was a guy about our age, maybe a year older. He was fit, and good looking. Yes I know, I know. Just because I have a boyfriend doesn’t mean I can’t think people are attractive! But still, he doesn’t compare to Harry.
“Hello, my name’s Dylan and I’ll be your waiter today what can I get you?” He asked.
“I’ll take the chicken alfredo,” Harry said folding the menu and passing it to Dylan.
“And what about you, beautiful?” He said making my cheeks blush. I had to bite down on my lip to try to hold back a laugh. I watched as Harry gave him a “What the Hell” look.
He then looked over at me squinting his eyes which only made my bite harder on my lip trying not to burst with laughter.
“Uhm... I’ll take the shrimp fettuccini,” I managed to say, smiling brightly and handing him my order.
“That’s the best thing on the menu,” He answered smiling back. I could practically see Harry mentally shooting him right now.
“Mm, of course it is.” I said knowing that I was starting to annoy Harry.
“Well I’ll get that for you,” He said walking off.
I looked over at Harry who was looking down to his lap as he played with his fingers. I just sat there staring at him for a minute until I realized that he was avoiding eye contact with me.
“Harry...” I said. No answer.
“Harry what’s wrong?”
No answer.
“Seriously Harry!” I said getting a little mad that he wasn’t answering me.
Still no answer.
I took a salt packet from the side and threw it at Harry.
His head shot up.
I smiled largely at him waiting for him to say something but he just crossed his arms and huffed.
“Aw, Haz what’s wrong?”
No answer.
“Really Harry? The Silent treatment isn’t going to fix anything.”
No answer.
I frowned getting slightly sad that he wasn’t talking.
“Fine then, don’t talk to me.” I said stubbornly, crossing my arms over my chest as well and turning my head. I honestly felt kind of childish by doing that but who cares.
I couldn’t sense Harry now looking at me.
“I don’t like him.” Harry huffed.
I couldn’t help but smile.
“That’s why you weren’t talking to me? Because he complimented me? Really Harry?” I said beginning to laugh.
“It’s not funny! And you were all blushing and laughing and... I don’t like him.” He concluded.
It finally came to me. He was jealous. “Were you jealous?”
“No,”
“Liar,”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Admit it Harry, you were jealous that he made me blush, even though I blush all the time and for everything!”
“You were like drooling over him!” He whined.
Really, is that all he could come up with?
“How do you know I wasn’t drooling over you?” I asked raising an eyebrow at him.
He immediately smiled.
“You’re such a liar.”
I began laughing. “Whatever Harry, you’re such weirdo.”
After our laughter died down Dylan came back with our plates. He placed Harry’s down first and mine last.
“Enjoy your meals.” He said as he winked at me walking off to his other tables.
“Really?” Harry said to his back as he walked away.
“Shut up and eat,” I said laughing at him
“I’ll take the check now.” Harry muttered bitterly to Dylan.
I laughed at his jealousy but really, he had nothing to be worried about.
“Here you go sir,” He placed it down.
Harry dropped a couple bills that paid the exact amount that our food cost.
“Not going to give him a tip?” I asked raising an eyebrow at him.
“Once again, I don’t really like him.”
He walked over to me wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me into his side.
Just when our waiter was looking over at his he planted a soft loving kiss on my lips.
Once we were about halfway home I decided that I should probably tell Harry about Eddy. I mean, I don’t want to keep things from him, especially because I haven’t told him about my past living with my dad. I just don’t want to have a whole bunch of things piling up.
Honestly, I don’t know when I should tell Harry about my past. I just don’t want him to treat me any differently or think of me any differently. But what am I supposed to do, just go up to him and be all like “Hey Harry, I just wanted to tell you that my dad was abusive and that’s why I’m here!” You see, it doesn’t work like that.
“So Harry,” I said starting up a conversation.
“Mhm,”
“I thought I should just let you know that at Uni, I have a class with someone we both know.” Gah, why did I say that?
I suddenly felt extremely nervous.
“Oh really, who is it?”
I licked my dry lips and I started to say “Well, you see I was sitting in my Science class and all of a sudden the person sitting in front of me was Eddy.”
“You’re kidding right?” He said questionably.
“I wish I was,”
“God dammit, Sky I really don’t want him near you.” He said angrily.
“And I don’t want that either, but I don’t really have any options about this. I can’t just switch schools.”
“I’m sure we can do something about it. I don’t want him near you.”
I sighed, “Harry, we can’t do anything about it.”
“Well have you tried?”
“I told him to stay away from me, but he said he was going to do anything to get me back, but I don’t think he’s a threat or anything like that.”
“He’s not safe to be around.” Harry said gripping the wheel tighter.
“He won’t do anything, I swear. If he does I’ll tell you right away and you can do whatever you want.”
He let out a long breath.
“You’re not getting the point Skylar.”
“Then what’s your point?”
“I’m saying, he’s hurt you once and he can do it again. I don’t want to take any chances on that.”
I rested my hand on his knee. “I know you’re worried, and trust me I wasn’t too happy to see him when I did, but you need to trust what I’m saying. I won’t let anything happen to me.”
“But I like it better when I make sure you’re ok,”
I couldn’t help but smile at his protectiveness.
“I’ll be fine, I swear.”
Harry’s POV:
“I’ll call you tomorrow alright?” I said as I wrapped my arms around Sky’s waist.
She nodded as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“I had a good time, thanks for taking me out.”
“It was my pleasure.” I said moving her waist closer to mine.
She went on her tippy toes and planted her soft plump lips onto mine, sending electric shots through me- as usual.
“I have to go, I have school tomorrow,” She mumbled as she pulled away resting her head against my chest as I held her close to my body.
“I’ll miss you,”
“Good,” She replied as she unwillingly pulled out of my arms.
“Love you babe,” I said as she began opening her front door,
She smiled her cute smile she gets when she received compliments.
“I love you too Harry,” She said walking into the house.
I walked back to my car, smiling widely. It never gets old hearing her say those words. I love you too. That’s all I needed her to say to make me instantly happy.
I honestly do love her, a lot, and that’s why I’m going to do something I know she won’t be happy with.
I have to do it, it’s for her safety. If I don’t at least confront him he’ll think I’m ok with him stalking her like this.
I have to go pay Eddy a visit. I’m not sure how this is going to turn out but I need to let him know that he isn’t going to get away with hitting Skylar- even though she forgave him- and for trying to break us apart. No one can get away with that, not if I have anything to do with it.
