Logan POV
"Patton! We're home!" Yelled a voice from the front door that could only be Patton's mother.

Patton paled, his eyes widening in either fear or surprise.  Footsteps echoed down the hallway, and a woman and man stepped into the living room.

The woman was short and chubby.  She had short curly blonde hair.  Her eyes were a vibrant blue, anger flickering behind them.  She had sharp eyeliner and mascara.  She wore black pants, a white shirt, with a blue sweater.

Unlike his wife, Patton's father was tall and skinny.  He had brown hair, edging on blond.  Thin rimmed glasses sat on his nose, framing dark brown, almost black eyes.

They looked like loving parents.  The perfect poster parents of your regular suburban family.  But the rage in their eyes and Patton's father's fist clenched at his side told another story.

"Patton,"  Said his mother in a shrill voice.  "What is this?"

"It's Logan's birthday,"  Patton mumbled, refusing to make eye contact with either of his parents.  "We were just having a party."

"A party?"  His Dad scoffed.  "Absolutely not."

"We just wanted-"  Patton started.

"Did I ask you a question?"  His Mom yelled.

"No,"  Patton answered, looking down at the floor again.

"All of you, out of my house right now,"  His Dad growled at the rest of us.

We all glanced warily at each other.  I started to move to leave.  The last thing I need is Patton's parents hating me.  But Patton grabbed my hand, begging me silently not to leave him.

Everyone else caught on quickly.  Virgil and Emile looked worried.  Remy death glaring Patton's parents.

"I asked all of you to leave,"  His Dad repeated, getting steadily angrier.

"Considering how little you two are here,"  I started.  "I don't think you have control."

"Are you threatening me?"  His Mom growled, an offended look in her eyes.

"I'm not,"  I explained.  "I'm stating facts."

"If you want to kick us out for celebrating a birthday,"  Damien joined in.  "We'll be happy to go to the police.  We can tell them all about how you've been abandoning your underage son.  That's called child neglect.  And that can get you one to ten years in prison."

"You wouldn't dare,"  His Mom said, borderline yelling.

"Karen calm down,"  Her husband whispered to her.

"I want these...idiots out of my house right now,"  Karen said.

"Mom...please stop,"  Patton begged.  "Let's just not make a big deal out of this."

"You disobeyed a direct rule,"  His Dad yelled.  "You invited all your friends over when we specifically told you not to."

"I was just-"

"You are grounded!"  His Dad screamed in his face.  "For a month!  No phone!  No friends over!  You come home right after school!  No after school extra curricular activities."

"I need those for college,"  Patton pleaded.

"Screw college for you,"  Karen hissed.  "You are too dumb to figure out something like that."

"Go to your room,"  His Dad told him.

"Nope,"  Remy said, standing up.  "Patton you're leaving with us."

"You can't do that,"  His Dad hissed.  "He's our son."

"Yeah, sure,"  Remy scoffed.  "When's the last time you've actually seen him.  A month?"

"Child neglect,"  Damien whispered, just loud enough for Patton's parents to hear.

"All of you put my house right now,"  Karen growled, pointing at the front door.

"Come on Patton,"  I told him, standing up with his hand in mind.  "We're all leaving."

We all quickly got up and headed towards the front door.  But I got yanked back as Patton's Dad grabbed him by the rest.

He pulled Patton out of my grasp and slapped him.  Hard, across the cheek. Patton let out a gasp, holding a hand to his now red cheek.

I reacted without thinking, which is odd for me. I grabbed Patton by the arm and bolted. Everyone followed behind quickly.

We all paused outside in the front yard. Patton was crying, Emile trying to comfort him. My hand still stayed firmly holding Patton's.

Virgil and Remy looked most effected by the bout of violence from Patton's father. Why, I'm not sure.

"Take deep breaths Patton," Emile mumbled, rubbing Patton's back gently. Patton had his arm wrapped tightly around Emile, crying into his shoulder.

"He's...they've never...dad's never hit me before..." Patton sobbed, his cheek still bright red.

"What are we going to do now?" I questioned. "Patton you can not go back into that house."

"But all my things..." He mumbled.

"You can retrieve them another time when they've calmed down," I told him, glaring at his parents who were watching us through the window.

"How about we have a sleepover," Emile suggested.

"It's a school night," Virgil said.

"So?" Remy asked. "You don't have to come."

"I wasn't planning on it," Virgil grumbled.

"I'll stay at Emile's," Patton whispered, trying to wipe his tears away.

"That sounds like a good plan," Roman said.

"It's getting late," Damien said glancing at his phone. It was already dark outside.

"I'll come to Emile's house for a bit," I said. "But I won't stay the night."

"Party pooper," Remy sighed.

"Are you seriously thinking about sleeping at Emile's too," Roman asked with a laugh. Remy and Emile both froze.

"I kinda already live there...so..." Remy mumbled.

"Why?" Virgil asked.

"None of your damn business," Remy said defensively.

"Okay, lets not ruin Logan's birthday any further," Roman said, stepping between the two.

"Sorry," Patton said. "It's sorry they ruined everything."

"It's not your fault your parents are assholes," Damien said.

"Language," Patton said with a soft smile.

"There's the Patton we all know and love," Emile said, hugging Patton tightly.

"If everything is okay, I'll take Virgil home and we'll see all you guys tomorrow," Roman said, grabbing Virgil's hand and pulling the two of them to his car.

"See you guys tomorrow," Patton said, waving to them.

They smiled and waved back before getting in the car and leaving.

"I'll be on my way too then," Damien said, waving by to us. He walked to his car.

"Bye bye," Patton told him. Damien smiled and left.

"Shall we head to Emile's house then?" I said to the remained of us.

"Yeah can ya drive Patton?" Remy asked, grabbing Emile by the waist. "Cause I'll drive Emile home on my motorcycle."

"Of course I can," I said, reaching for my keys in my pocket. Remy smiled and climbed on his motorcycle, Emile following him.

"See ya two there!" Remy yelled before driving off.

~•~

"Popcorn is here bitches," Remy said, setting the bowl on the floor. He flopped down next, already grabbing a handful.

"Thanks," Emile said, also thanking him by giving Remy a quick kiss.

Patton was leaning against me, eating some of the popcorn now. The three friends have already changed into their pajamas. I haven't considering I plan on leaving around eight.

Patton had on soft light blue pajama pants and a white shirt with cartoonish kittens on it. Emile had a worn Steven universe shirt and pink sweatpants. Remy had black sweatpants and just a white shirt.

"I'd say let's watch a movie but Logan leaves in an hour," Emile said, glancing up at the clock.

"My apologies for leaving soon," I told them.

"It's okay," Patton said. "I know you like being well rested for school."

"Nerd," Remy said, trying to cover it up with a cough.

"Be nice," Emile chastised him.

"What should we do until then?" Patton asked.

"Let's spill the tea," Remy suggested. Patton and Emile gasped and nodded 'yes'.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"To gossip," Emile answered.

"I'd understand Remy to be a gossiper but I didn't expect you two to take part in gossip." I said, making both of them blush in embarrassment.

"Leave my boyfriend alone," Remy said, glaring at me. I just sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Do you have nicknames for Remy?" I Asked Emile.

"Maybe," Emile smirked.

"Don't you dare," Remy told him sternly.

"I don't understand my little coffee bean," Emile giggled, leaning his head on Remy's shoulder.

"If I didn't love you I would yeet you," Remy told him, his face bright red.

"What the hell is a yeet?" I asked.

"To throw something," Emile explained.

"We need to get the nerd vocab cards or something," Remy laughed. Patton and Emile snickered at the idea. I sighed and rolled my eyes again.

As we continued to talk, Patton seemed to slowly get more and more quiet. He got less interested in what we were talking about.

Eventually it got to the point where Emile's poked Patton to make sure he's okay.

"I'm fine," Patton whispered in response.

"Have you take your you know whats?" Emile asked. I looked to Remy in confusion but he didn't seemed dazed.

"No," Patton admitted. "I thought I'd be fine today."

"What do you need to take?" I couldn't help but ask.

"My antidepressants," Patton answered with a shrug. "The one thing my parents will get me."

"Oh," I mumbled, feeling another feeling bubbling in my chest for Patton. I think this is worry or sadness.

"It's fine," Patton told me. "Just annoying depression."

I frowned a bit, unsure of how to answer to it. But we fell back into silence. Remy started scrolling through his phone. Emile turned Steven Universe on the tv.

Patton leaned against me, slowly falling against me. Emile had sat in Remy's lap but by the end of the first episode he was out cold.

I couldn't help but smile as Patton's head fell onto my shoulder. He was asleep.
