There's Something About Buffy-Anne

Staring up at the ceiling of her new room, Buffy couldn't help but sigh as her alarm clock continued to go off.

Turning over in the silk sheets, Buffy slammed her fist down onto the device, finally silencing the annoying clock.

So far, in the 12 hours she had been living with Klaus...everything had been going well-ish.

The second she had gone downstairs for her midnight snack she had almost screamed when she spotted him waiting for her. He had simply handed her a sandwich before disappearing back into his art studio.

This whole living with Klaus thing was going to take some getting used to, that was for sure.

Sinking into the memory foam mattress, Buffy clutched Mr.Gordo to her chest as she allowed her mind to drift to the whole reason she had not slept all night.

Jeremy and Elena finally knew the truth.

Her siblings knew she was carrying the child of Klaus Mikaelson.

The reveal had been a disaster, to say the least. Which hadn't been helped by the fact that not five minutes after she had revealed the truth, Klaus had shown up on their doorstep.

"I'm pregnant."

Jeremy and Elena who were positioned on different sides of the room both glanced at each other before staring at Bonnie who nodded confirming everything.

Instantly, both of the siblings turned back to Buffy with shocked looks on their faces.

"WHAT?!"

Buffy winced at the look on her brother and sister's faces before rubbing her nervous hands together "Um..."

"Whose's the father?" Elena asked.

"Buff, you're dead!" Jeremy stated at the same time blandly before turning to Bonnie "How is this even possible?"

"
It's one of nature's loopholes."

Looking up from the pillow she was currently hiding behind, Buffy focused on Bonnie in utter terror.

They were running out of time.

Klaus would be here any minute
.

As Bonnie reached over and squeezed her hand supportively, Buffy let out a small breath before finally focusing back on the shocked faces of her siblings.

She had never felt more terrified in her entire life which was saying a lot.

"When I was kidnapped. These witches took me to New Orleans, one of the witches had died to confirm my pregnancy. To confirm the creation of a werewolf, vampire, demon baby, who also is going to be a witch. Because of the grandmother."

Instantly, at that little reveal, everything became crystal clear.

It became beyond obvious who the father of this child was.

There was only one person who fit that description.

"KLAUS!"

Buffy winced at the memory, it hadn't exactly been a pleasant evening.

Jeremy had almost thrown up at the idea of her sleeping with Klaus and Elena had yelled so much that she had shattered every glass in the house.

It had only gotten more intense when Klaus had shown up, declaring that Buffy was moving in with him.

All hell had broken loose at that.

Yet, their anger hadn't been the biggest shock, Buffy had been prepared for that. What had shocked her to her very core, was the fact that she hadn't been kicked out or disowned.

If anything, her siblings had been more protective of her.

While they both hated the father and there was no changing that (not that Buffy expected them to suddenly like Klaus, she barely liked him! Plus, she would always hate him given the history) their instincts to protect their family kicked in at the prospect of a new baby being added to the family tree.

While they hated Klaus, it didn't change the fact that the first of the new generation of Summers kids was on the way.

The next generation was only five months away from being born.

There was another member of their family now.

One they all agreed needed to be protected.

Jeremy had even made it clear that Buffy was not to be going hunting or slaying any time soon and he had actually helped pack up the car for Buffy to move in with Klaus. Not wanting to risk losing control and hurting her or his future niece in those moments when Buffy was vulnerable.

He didn't want to risk turning into Connor.

He had been so paranoid that his loyalty and desire to protect Buffy would falter the second she started showing. His hunter instinct kicking in when she was asleep, reminding him that her child was technically going to be a vampire one day.

He hadn't wanted to take any chances.

As expected, Jeremy accepted this pregnancy a lot quicker than Elena.

Elena had been ready to blow Klaus's head off when he showed up to collect Buffy. She had even started reminding Buffy of her options, such as going on the run with the baby.

The second Elena had found out that she was having a girl though, the anger had faltered. Momentarily distracted from her instincts screaming at her to keep Buffy away from Klaus.

She had focused on the fact that she was going to be an Auntie.

To a perfect little girl.

Elena had forced herself to stop screaming and stop demanding that Buffy take the baby and run, instead focusing on the fact that there was going to be another Summers girl in the family.

Spotting the morning check-in text from Elijah appear on her phone, Buffy grumbled in annoyance before finally pulling herself out of bed.

That text signaled that the day was about to begin.

Huffing, Buffy rolled out of her way too-comfortable bed and rubbed her exhausted eyes.

She had too much to do today.

Not only did she have class at Whitmore, but she also had to do this stupid Facetime with Elijah at breakfast and had to help train Jeremy. It had been decided that she was to work with him in the mornings with Matt keeping a watch out constantly.

The pair of them were to strictly focus on tai chi, to hopefully keep his more murderous tendencies under wraps before Matt took over to take him on a run.

She was, according to Klaus and Jeremy himself not allowed to risk sparing anymore.

Buffy did not like the two of them agreeing on anything!

Walking into her overly magnificent bathroom, which given how big the tub was, had quickly become her favorite room in the mansion, Buffy froze as she approached the mirror.

Instantly, her eyes widened in horror as she stared at her own reflection.

On instinct, she screamed.

The second she did, there was a sharp gust of air followed by her bathroom door slamming open.

In less than a second, a very shirtless Klaus, still half asleep his drawstring bottoms hanging loosely around his waist bolted into the bathroom. His eyes were glowing gold, familiar vampire veins circling his eyes as he quickly scanned the bathroom for a threat.

The second he spotted the cause of Buffy's terror he paused.

She had popped.

She officially had a baby bump.

It may be small but all it took was her wearing a tight shirt for anyone who saw her to know the truth.

Hiding the birth of this child was officially about to get a lot harder.

"You look lovely?" He tried only to wince as Buffy picked up a vial of perfume and launched it right at him.

As Klaus dodged the flying object which quickly shattered into glass shards as it hit the wall, Buffy groaned once again staring down at her pregnant belly.

She felt like a whale!

"I am fat!"

While Klaus only had limited experience with pregnant women, he knew to be careful here. When Marianna had been pregnant she set trees on fire when anyone even hinted at her weight gain or her ever-growing waistline "You are pregnant love."

Buffy groaned as she moved her hands to her rounded stomach "Ugh, you do realize that everyone is going to find out now. If Elena doesn't blab, this-" She motioned at her stomach "Is a massive calling card!"

The fewer people who knew about their daughter, the safer she would be.

If their combined enemies started hearing about their vulnerable little girl, the line of people wanting Buffy dead would triple.

Despite his own worry about more people finding out, Klaus couldn't resist the smirk brimming his lips "I could always tell Stefan."  He very much wanted to be the one to reveal the truth to Stefan.

He wanted to rub the salt into Stefan's open wound.

"I would thoroughly enjoy-"

Before Klaus could even finish his sentence, Buffy was already pushing him out of her room.

"Get me some clothes that will fit."

While currently, given everything that had happened Buffy hated Stefan, it didn't change the history between them.

When Stefan found out, she intended to tell him herself.

Yes, right now he sucked, but at one point he had been her everything.

No matter their issues, she would never let him learn about this from someone else. It was why she had threatened to rip Elena's tongue out if she even tried to tell him before she had the chance to herself.

Buffy and Stefan had five years of history, she felt like she owed it to him to reveal the truth herself.

Plus, given how much she knew he wanted the cure, wanted them to take the cure together and have their own family as they had once dreamed, this might destroy him and send him down a more destructive path.

Klaus chuckled as Buffy continued to shove against his bare chest "Yes dear, though if you keep touching me, I will be tempted to-"

Buffy groaned "I hate you." She huffed as she finally got him out of her room.

Klaus being shirtless right now was not helping her.

Her hormones were going crazy right now.

Klaus just smirked before purposely gesturing at her stomach "Hmm, that child says otherwise."

Buffy slammed the bedroom door in his face before screaming into her pillow.

It was going to be a long five months!

"Buffy wouldn't have sex with Klaus." Damon argued as he and Stefan stood in the living room, still arguing about their whole theory about Buffy being pregnant with Klaus's evil spawn.

Well more correctly, Stefan and Caroline's theory.

Damon just refused to believe it.

Buffy wouldn't sleep with Klaus, he knew Buffy better than anyone and she wouldn't do this.

The problem was, Damon had a habit of overestimating just how close he and Buffy were.

She may be his best friend, but he was not hers.

He was not her most trusted confident, despite how much he convinced himself he was.

The truth was, given he knew that Buffy was never going to love him as he loved her, he had latched onto her as a friend in an unhealthy manner.

Stefan sighed only to have Caroline enter their house and automatically glare at Damon crossing her arms.

Though she wasn't technically angry at him, she was angry for an entirely different reason.

If this was true, she was so beyond pissed and it wasn't even about the fact that Buffy was pregnant with Klaus's child, it was the fact that she hadn't told her.

Why the hell would Buffy not tell her?!

"She has all the symptoms of pregnancy Damon." Caroline argued, "Plus, she and Klaus have the weird link thing that makes them drawn to each other."

Damon groaned in frustration, quickly pouring himself a glass of bourbon before turning back to the blonde vampire "She's a vampire, slayer-demon hybrid. And Klaus is a vampire! It's not possible."

Stefan just grumbled dishearteningly, he hated how well the pieces of this mystery fit together.

"Again, Angel has a child."

"A child that was only possible because of that damn law firm!" Damon snapped back, his eyes narrowing "Wolfram and Hart don't bother with our kind."

Caroline frowned "What is Wolfram and Hart?"

"Don't ask." Damon grumbled as he downed his drink. Just thinking about explaining that place had his head throbbing.

Stefan sighed and rubbed his jaw before turning to his brother "All summer Buffy was vanishing Damon. You were the one that called that she was sleeping with someone who made her filled with shame and self-hatred. You saw her that night Damon, she was angry and her emotions were all over the place, hatred and anger can quickly turn to lust. Klaus spent months being the one person she could go to. The one person that would never judge her, we practically shoved her right into his arms!"

Damon groaned, he couldn't believe his brother was actually entertaining this insane idea "Do you want this to be true?! Because you're pushing here."

Since the second the idea of Buffy being pregnant had been uttered, Stefan had dived headfirst into it as the only explanation.

Stefan couldn't help but scoff as he glared at his brother "Do I want the woman I love to be pregnant with the child of the man that ruined our relationship? Of course not!"

Caroline huffed in annoyance, she had been waiting around all night and she needed to know.

She couldn't take the not knowing anymore.

"That's it. I'm calling her..."

The second Caroline grabbed her phone, Stefan panicked and quickly snatched her phone from her "Caroline, this isn't gossip. You can't just accuse her of this before we know it's happening for sure."

There was a lot more at risk if this was true.

If Buffy really was pregnant, she had kept it quiet for a very good reason. This baby was going to be in constant danger just by being the child of The Slayer and that was without considering the extra danger of being the child of Klaus Mikaelson.

"If she is pregnant, she and this child are in an insane amount of danger."

Sure enough, Caroline faltered.

The fact was, they still had no idea how far along Buffy was.

For all they knew, she could only be a month or so along and had yet to decide what she wanted to do about this pregnancy.

Trying to force the reminder of who the father of this baby was out of his mind, Stefan focused on Buffy.

He couldn't hate a baby just because of who the father was, especially considering who the mother was.

Stefan just couldn't ever imagine hating Buffy's child.

No matter how much the prospect of Buffy having a baby with Klaus made him want to tear his own heart out, this was still Buffy's child.

If she wanted it, he would ensure she got to have it.

"You're seeing her today, right? At Whitmore?" When she nodded Stefan sighed, trying to think of how to keep Caroline from outright asking Buffy if she was knocked up "Okay. Keep an eye on her. If this is true, Bonnie knows."

There was no doubt in his mind that Buffy would tell Bonnie before any of them.

"They will stay extra close together. Watch them and see if you can get her to explain what happened after I told Elena about Warren and when she was kidnapped."

Caroline clenched her jaw in frustration, she didn't like this at all, but Stefan was right.

If she accused Buffy and they were wrong, Buffy may never speak to her again.

And if they were right...Buffy was probably terrified out of her mind about how to tell them all.

"Fine."

**

Yanking open the front door, Jeremy sputtered as he stared down at Buffy.

While he had expected her to show up for their morning tai chi what he hadn't expected was to see her in sweatpants and one of Klaus's shirts that was way too big on her.

It was practically swallowing her whole.

"What are you wearing?"

Buffy groaned before lifting up the shirt revealing her stomach.

Sure enough, the coffee mug in Jeremy's hands hit the floor with a loud clatter.

Overnight, Buffy had gone from looking normal to being a complete pregnant lady.

Buffy just sighed as she lowered the oversized shirt, once again covering her now obviously pregnant stomach "I need some clothes." She announced as she strolled into the house and made her right over to the couch where Matt was still watching the news "None of mine fit and Klaus is being an ass. He wants me to wear his clothes as a point. I feel like he is marking me as his property."

Matt snorted before nudging her shoulder playfully "You are carrying his hybrid spawn."

Buffy shot him a dangerous glare "I will hurt you." She warned before glancing back over at her brother, tears brimming her eyes which caused Jeremy to quickly tense up in panic.

How often was Buffy going to cry because of this pregnancy?

So far, he did not like this.

Buffy rarely let tears fall, yet now that she was pregnant, it seemed like a constant thing.

"Look, I texted Elena, she is making a quick stop to pick me up some more pregnant girl-friendly clothes."

Matt frowned "Do you mean mater-"

Buffy growled as she shifted her eyes back to him "You finish that sentence and I will throw you out a window."

Instantly, Matt jumped up to his feet and purposely moved away from Buffy with his hands raised in surrender.

Buffy on a normal day scared him, but pregnant hormonal Buffy so far utterly terrified the living shit out of him.

"I will make breakfast."

"Smart man." Buffy commented just as Matt bolted into the kitchen.

Once she heard the stove switch on, followed by the smell of bacon, Buffy finally shifted her focus back to Jeremy who was now just staring at her stomach like it was a bomb about to go off.

"Look, can I borrow a hoodie? I can't walk around smelling like Klaus with Stefan and Damon looming over me asking questions."

Jeremy snorted lightly before tormenting his sister "Dude, you just got to lay off the pizza."

Instantly, a pillow was launched at his head followed by tears streaming down Buffy's face.

The second he spotted Buffy crying Jeremy froze.

He hated seeing Buffy cry.

"I'm pregnant you idiot!"

"And lazy." Jeremy joked, hoping to get her laughing "Hopefully my niece isn't."

Buffy just rolled her eyes and started attacking him with more pillows "Go get me clothes that will fit!"

**

Damon still wouldn't entertain the idea of Buffy being pregnant.

It was almost ironic.

Stefan had been the one in an actual relationship with Buffy and he was more accepting of the idea, yet Damon, who had nothing but friendship with her, had been the most stubborn out of the pair of them.

Damon just refused to believe it.

"Why don't we just ask her if you're so sure?"

Stefan sighed at the question, how did Damon refuse to see all the signs here?

"If we are wrong she will kill both of us for accusing her of sleeping with Klaus...plus, if it's true she's been keeping it secret for a reason. This baby will be the child of The Fallen Slayer and The Hybrid, of course, she is keeping it quiet. She hasn't told Caroline, we have to assume she hasn't even told Jeremy and Elena. She's not going to just tell us."

Damon just shook his head, he refused to believe this.

He knew Buffy!

Caroline and Stefan were just making up whatever excuses they could to try and fix the fact that Buffy liked being powerful!

Plus deep down, he didn't want either Buffy or Stefan to take The Cure.

"You just hate the fact that she is getting happy with the way she is! She likes being powerful and you can't stand that. You hate the fact that you and her want different things. She likes being immortal more than she liked being mortal! You've said some crap in your days but this takes the cake." He huffed before sitting down in one of the chairs across from his brother.

Stefan merely sighed.

Why did his brother have to be so stubborn?

"She's been different since she escaped after being taken, Damon. Sick, more emotional, the fainting, Klaus's obsession with keeping her out of danger, you can't just ignore this."

"Sure I can." Damon scoffed before standing and looking at his brother seriously "She is my best friend Stefan. She would have told me. She tells me everything, most of the time. She didn't tell you about heaven, she told me. Yeah, we disagree about a lot but... no. Something this big, she would have freaked out and called me considering she currently hates your guts. No, I...I...no! If this was true...she would have told me."

And with that, Damon stormed off to his room slamming the door shut.

**

Tai Chi.

While Jeremy was a natural when it came to throwing stars, when it came to tai chi, he just couldn't get a grip on it. Honestly, he looked so uncomfortable that for a second Buffy couldn't tell if he was constipated or just trying to stand in six-inch heels.

As he awkwardly raised his hands above his head, Buffy tried not to snort from the other side of the garden.

Finally, Jeremy gave up and dropped his hands to his sides letting out a frustrated huff "I feel ridiculous."

Buffy glanced over at Matt but given he looked ready to burst out in laughter himself she sighed.

Focusing back on her brother she purposely pointed down at her stomach "So, I am weaponless right now, any murdery vibes? Like, must stop niece from going all alien on Slayer General?"

Quickly refocusing on the whole reason why they were trying Tai Chi in the first place, Jeremy took in a deep breath trying to center himself before finally, he focused on his sister's stomach.

There was nothing.

No sense of sudden murderous rage, no desire to grab his hunting knife and carve his niece out of Buffy's stomach. Given they had been concerned that the second she started showing it would be like a switch flipping in his head, this was amazing news!

While they had no way of knowing how he would react once the baby was actually here, at least this was one less thing to worry about. When he looked at Buffy, all he could think about was how she trained him, how she built him into the hunter he was meant to be. Never treating him like a baby, always being supportive and helping him even when the idea of him being a hunter terrified her.

The baby hadn't even been a thought.

At least not yet.

But, they have five months till the baby was born so there was time to work out a way for him to get some control over his instincts.

Instantly a smile broke out on his face and he rushed forward swopping her up into a tight hug. Buffy laughed loudly as he spun her around, her feet hovering off the grass.

"Jer, you're squeezing me and your niece."

Her words qued him to panic and quickly backed away, raising his hands in surrender.

Buffy giggled at the reaction "I'm good." She assured him before a small pout grazed her lips "But my legs are tied."

Rolling his eyes, Jeremy grumbled under his breath but without complaint, he bent down letting Buffy jump up so he could give her a piggyback ride "You can't milk this forever."

"Eh, we will see." She joked as she slapped his shoulder and pointed toward the house "Onwards to the kitchen! Time for breakfast."

Matt frowned as he moved to follow the pair inside. They couldn't already be hungry, he had literally watched them both devour an entire breakfast platter an hour ago.

"We just had breakfast."

Buffy and Jeremy glanced at each other before shrugging "It's a hunter thing."

Spotting Matt about to start cooking again, Buffy quickly shook her head and jumped down from Jeremy's back "Pizza!" She declared as she grabbed the takeout menu.

Now that she was living with Klaus, who was constantly looming over her every little movement, she had noticed that all of the takeout menus she had left there over the summer had vanished.

And the kitchen now suddenly had fruit and vegetables everywhere.

It was torture!

Matt's eyes widened like saucers "Buff, it's 9 in the morning!"

"Your point?"

Jeremy laughed as he threw an arm over her shoulder and quickly grabbed the phone, already dialing their favorite pizza joint, which he knew did an insane breakfast pizza.

Covered in scrambled eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, and peppers.

It sounded like an abomination, but it was awesome and huge!

It had been his and Buffy's go-to breakfast back in High School to avoid hungover Jenna.

"I am liking pregnant you more and more."

**

WHITMORE, VIRGINIA

"How is living with Klaus?"

Buffy just huffed at Elena's question and promptly threw herself onto the bed in Elena's dorm room. Laying on her side, she clutched the pillow to her stomach before allowing her eyes to drift to her sister who was unpacking the shopping bags filled with more pregnant lady-friendly clothes.

"He hovers."

She had heard him pacing outside her room half of the night and he had literally moved into the room next door despite the fact his room was on the second floor of the mansion, while hers was on the top floor. He also had the hybrids standing outside of her window all night.

"He is driving me insane. All night any little sound I made he would rush in, full-on glowing gold eyes. I feel like a bitch about to bare his litter." Buffy winced "The world needs a better name for a female dog."

"Agreed." Elena laughed as she perched down on the bed beside Buffy, her eyes automatically moving to Buffy's baby bump.

Her sister was five months away from having a baby, it was insane!

"So how involved is everyone else?

"Elijah calls me every day. Every day for updates. He Face-timed in this morning for the most awkward breakfast ever."

Being forced to have breakfast with Klaus and Elijah, as they discussed the plan for New Orleans had been weird. It was becoming crystal clear just how much Klaus wanted to storm down to the city he had once loved and claim it for his own.

He wanted to be King and she had a feeling the second this baby was out of her she was going to be stuck on a one-way flight to New Orleans.

Though she had to admit if she had to choose between Mystic Falls and New Orleans, she would pick New Orleans without a doubt.

"Klaus is going to New Orleans for a few days soon to check on the witches, thank God. I will be alone with just the Hybrids and Bonnie at the manner."

That was the only compromise they had been able to come up with so Klaus didn't lock her up in a magically sealed room until he returned "So they are both extra protective. Klaus almost didn't let me leave the house this morning to check on Jer. I miss Rebekah already and being pregnant sucks! And I am fat!"

As tears started appearing in Buffy's eyes, Elena quickly patted her knee, trying to soothe her "You're not fat, you're pregnant there's a difference."

"I'm wearing Jeremy's old moody 15-year-old, I hate the world hoodie because none of my clothes fit." Buffy deadpanned.

Elena winced as she stared down at the black hoodie that had pretty much been Jeremy's entire personality back in High School "Yeah, that won't do." She declared before quickly reaching into one of the bags, quickly finding a baggy but still stylish purple dress.

Buffy may be showing, but the bump was still small, so as long as she didn't wear anything tight, they could still keep this pregnancy quiet.

"Try this."

Staring down at the purple dress, Buffy instantly groaned. She so did not want to wear maternity clothes...but at least this was kind of cute. Though if anything in that shopping bag had ruffles she was tossing all of it out of the window and living in Jeremy's clothes till she was skinny again.

"Thanks."

As Buffy started to get changed, Elena allowed her mind to drift, trying to calculate who knew about this pregnancy.

Most of the Mikaelsons knew, Bonnie knew, and now so did she, Jeremy, and Matt.

But Matt only knew because he had walked in on Elena screaming at Klaus when he had shown up to collect Buffy.

Matt had promptly fainted on the porch when the term knocked up had been uttered into the air.

"Bonnie and I both know why-"

"Caroline." Buffy breathed before letting out a shaky breath.

As much as Buffy loved Caroline, not only was Caroline terrible with secrets but...Stefan was pretty much her closest confidant.

He was her Lexi and she was his.

There was no way, Caroline wouldn't slip up around Stefan.

"Love her but she's a babble mouth. Worse than you which is saying something, I mean Bonnie had to make me tell you. Plus, she would spill to Stefan, without meaning to. I want to be the one to tell him."

Elena sputtered slightly, only able to focus on the first half of Buffy's statement "You didn't want to tell me?"

Buffy just quirked a brow as she started zipping up her boots "Elena, love you but you found out about heaven, and 30 minutes later, everyone knew." She deadpanned.

Elena flinched at the harsh statement.

Okay, that was fair.

"Fair point. I'm sorry."

While Buffy appreciated the attempt, she didn't need apologies right now, what she needed to know was that her daughter was going to be safe. If Elena so much as got an inkling that she might announce it to the world, Buffy was going to compel her to not tell anyone.

When it came to her daughter, Buffy would do anything.

"Eh, Elena this secret can't come out. So many people already want my baby dead. If you think you can't keep this secret..."

Spotting the dark protective look, that was normally only reserved for her and Jeremy, Elena gulped slightly and frantically nodded her head. It was fair to say, she now understood why people always looked a little scared of Buffy when she went into protective mode.

"I can, I asked Bonnie to slap me if I so much as almost slip up."

Buffy inhaled tightly before moving her hands to her stomach, her ears focusing on the small heartbeat which was pounding at an intense speed.

With every person that found out, she found that knawing feeling of dread clawing at her heart and soul.

"How are you feeling?" Elena couldn't help but ask.

Given how quickly Klaus had swooped Buffy away last night, she hadn't actually been able to ask how Buffy felt about this whole pregnancy. Buffy had never once talked about having kids, it had never been a part of her plan, yet now here she was.

"Bloated and like I wanna eat loads of ice covered in whiskey." Buffy joked before grabbing her leather jacket and pulling it back on.

Elena just quirked an eyebrow "Not what I meant. How are you feeling, about being a mother?"

Buffy faltered slightly at the question.

Quickly lowering herself back down to the bed, she contemplated how to answer the question. Truthfully, she was petrified about being a mother, it was kind of why she was so thankful to have Bonnie, Sandra, and hell even, Klaus, Elijah, and Mary.

While she knew she could do what was necessary to keep her child safe, the idea of being an actual mom was a little daunting.

What if she messed up her kid?

What if in a few years, her kid ended up hating her?

Despite the fact everyone doubted Klaus as a father, deep down, Buffy doubted her own ability as a parent more than she doubted his.

"I am terrified." She whispered "I'm not like you Elena, I never imagined my life with kids. I was pretty certain I didn't want them. What if I mess her up? I loved my mom, but our relationship was rocky and I don't speak to my dad and this baby is always going to be in danger...I--I--want to be able to give her the best childhood but look at my reality."

Elena reached out a squeezed her hand "You know...I think you are going to be the world's best mom."

There was not a single doubt in Elena's mind that Buffy would be an amazing mother. Buffy had such a big heart and had a motherly nature about her already. Within a few weeks of moving to Mystic Falls back in High School, she had pretty much-become everyone's big sister.

"This little girl? Is going to be so lucky to be raised and protected by you."

Even if Elena still thought that the baby would be better off without any of the Mikaelson family being near her, she knew now was not the time to start on that train with Buffy.

Especially considering that so far, Buffy seemed to be full-on willing to let Klaus try his hand at fatherhood.

Something Elena could never agree with, but she would never see past the surface when it came to the Mikaelson name.

Not that anyone could blame her, she had every reason to hate Klaus for the rest of time; they all did.

The only difference between Buffy and Elena was that Buffy could relate more with Klaus than she could anyone else in this world.

Sometimes even more than Bonnie.

Both of them were rejected by their parents, constantly feeling alone, him as The Bastard Child, her as The Chosen One, never quite feeling like they belonged in the world or in their own families.

The main difference between them was their reactions.

But then again, if Buffy didn't surround herself with people like Jeremy, Bonnie, Caroline, Willow, and all of the friends she had, friends that brought her some light within the darkness...she could one day centuries from now, be just like Klaus.

"I'm not running, so just please don't suggest it. Running from Klaus with this baby? Is a sentence worse than death for everyone involved."

Plus, Buffy didn't want to raise this baby alone and spend years having to lie to her daughter about where her father was.

Elena gulped, reluctantly nodding "I won't."

At least not now.

Shaking off her own instincts to remind Buffy of how horrible Klaus was, Elena focused on the light in the darkness.

The Baby-Summers girl.

Squeezing Buffy's hands tightly, she grinned reassuringly "We are all in this together. So despite the fact it's Klaus..you're not still..."

"No!" Buffy exclaimed in panic.

The second she found out she was expecting, she separated herself from Klaus slightly. For many reasons. She had already been starting to feel butterflies around him in a way that made her hate herself. Plus, she was already confused and emotional enough, she just wanted to focus on this kid and Jeremy. Adding in just how she felt about Klaus would cause her to combust.

She knew she had already started to feel more for him and this baby had been like ice shaking her back to reality.

Reminding her that in no way could she ever let herself fall for him.

NO!

She already hated herself enough just by sleeping with him and letting him into her head but falling in love with Klaus?

It was a sure way for her to completely detest her own existence.

This tether between them was pushing her to get emotional about him, and she couldn't let that happen.

She wouldn't.

"No, I think the unexpected pregnancy kind of knocked some sense into me."

Elena almost sighed in relief, Klaus being the baby's father was already a lot, but Klaus possibly being their kind of brother-in-law?

Not a chance in hell!

"I'm excited to have a little niece. I'm gonna be the best God-mother slash aunt ever."

Buffy just sputtered as she stared at Elena in shock. She loved Elena she did, but in what universe would that ever happen?

If Elena thought she was even in the running for Godmother, she was nuts!

The excitement in Elena's eyes caused Buffy to wince slightly, purposely pulling herself out of Elena's grip a little, this was about to get really awkward "I asked Bonnie to be Godmother."

"Crazy pregnant sister say what?!"

**

For the first time ever, Elena was carrying something for Buffy.

Despite the fact being pregnant did not make her arms unusable and if she wanted to she could literally turn Elena into a pretzel, Buffy wasn't fighting it.

It was likely this would never happen again!

Plus, watching Elena's skinny arms struggle under the weight of Buffy's very heavy bag, which was filled with her assignments for the next few months was a hilarious form of retribution. After all of the times Elena had taken advantage of Buffy's strength over the years, she fully intended to milk this moment to the best of her ability.

"Why is this so heavy?" Elena grunted, her arms shaking as she tried desperately not to drop Buffy's brick-filled bag while the blonde literally ate popcorn and happily watched on.

Buffy had literally sped off to buy popcorn the second Elena had offered to take her bag.

Grinning as she tossed some more caramel-covered kernels into her mouth, Buffy just shrugged as she practically skipped through the halls beside Elena "I am a senior. I get a lot of assignments And given my whole sitch-"

AKA: Her baby bump and future demonic tribrid prophecy-infused baby.

"Elijah suggested I switch to online."

Well, suggested was putting it nicely.

He and Klaus had straight up wanted her to drop out until the baby was born so they could watch her 24/7. The compromise had been that she would switch to finishing her senior year online, which somehow Elijah had managed to organize without more than a single phone call.

Though she suspected either magic or compulsion was involved given that her missed assignments had suddenly been found and her attendance was now back to an appropriate number that meant she would qualify for graduation.

Plus, given that winter break was starting, the timing was kind of perfect.

By the time classes restarted she was going to be very obviously pregnant, with all her classmates and professors judging her for being an unmarried pregnant 21-year-old.

She had thought about dropping out, but the truth was...if anything, she was more determined to get through this since she found out she was pregnant.

Her mom had been barely 20 and still graduated at the top of her class despite having a one-year-old baby on her arm.

Her mom had been such a badass in her youth, despite being a member of the yearbook club.

Plus, she actually liked what she was studying which was another miracle.

"Buffy, Elena!"

Instantly, Buffy lit up at the familiar voice.

Turning her head, she grinned as she spotted Bonnie and Caroline walking onto campus, headed straight for them.

"Hey." Buffy greeted with a peppy smile, while Bonnie found herself snorting as Elena let out a massive sigh of relief. Their showing up finally allowed a second to place Buffy's huge rucksack on the ground.

Elena looked like her arms were about to fall off.

It was kind of funny.

"Why would you make her carry that?"

"Conditioning." Buffy argued with a playful smirk "And a little Karma, she did abuse my strength in High School."

"Did not!"

"Did too!" Buffy snarked back only to laugh as Elena grabbed a few kernels of her popcorn tossing them right into her face.

Playfully, Buffy quickly hid behind Bonnie, protectively clutching the container of popcorn bigger than her head to her chest "Bon, she is going after the food."

Biting the inside of her cheek to keep from bursting out into laughter, Bonnie grabbed the bag only to grunt.

What the hell was in this thing?!

"Buffy, did you bring weapons to class again?"

"Nope."

Not this time anyway.

Quickly taking the bag from Bonnie before the witch's arms could start to ache, Buffy offered her some popcorn and turned to Caroline only to frown as she spotted the look on her godsister's face.

Instead of laughing or joking around with the rest of them, Caroline was ultra-focused. Not on the bag or the popcorn, nor on an assignment, but rather on Buffy's baggy purple dress.

What the hell was her issue?

Feeling the slight hardened bump against her back as Buffy continued to remain positioned behind her, protecting her snacks from Elena, Bonnie froze.

Quickly the bagginess of the dress clicked.

Buffy was finally showing!

Without hesitation, Bonnie purposely shifted her bag on her shoulder, making sure it was blocking Buffy slightly before focusing on Elena, hoping to get Caroline's intense focus on Buffy to falter.

As much as she hated having to lie to Caroline, she could also understand why Buffy had not told Caroline yet. Not only was Caroline just as bad with secrets as Elena, but she was a hardcore believer that Buffy and Stefan were soulmates.

She would spill the second she found out and Buffy wanted to ensure Stefan found out from her, not anyone else.

Plus, if the wrong person overheard...AKA: One of the un-sired hybrids, all of whom hung out at the house where Caroline spent a lot of time given it was her boyfriend's house, hybrids who all wanted rid of Klaus, then Buffy would be their main target.

They might just see that baby as a way to guarantee Klaus left them alone.

They would use the baby as leverage.

"Caroline told me you had to move out to stay away from Jeremy."

They hadn't exactly discussed that part last night, everyone had just been so focused on the whole Buffy being pregnant thing that Elena also moving out hadn't been brought up.

The panic about Buffy living and raising a baby together with Klaus had been the major conversation.

Elena nodded sadly "Matt moved in to help Buffy keep an eye on him. He's okay."

"But are you?" Caroline asked in a worried tone, sure enough, her focus shifted to Elena who was now stuck in the dorms. Because they were halfway through the year, she had gotten a crappy dorm room.

Caroline had offered to compel her a good one, but Elena was trying to re-adjust how she saw compulsion in an effort not to risk losing her siblings.

She needed to stop seeing it as the only option when she didn't like something.

Despite how small her room was, and despite the fact her roommate was a freshman party animal, Elena couldn't help but smile. Truthfully, she actually liked living in the dorms.

It was actually the first time she had ever done it. She started college in Sunnydale and had moved in with a memory-less Buffy to rebuild their relationship and then when Buffy died, she hadn't wanted to leave Jeremy on his own in the house.

He had been drunk for at least the first two months following Buffy's death.

So far, Elena loved the dorms.

She could do late-nighters at the library without worrying about the hour drive back to Mystic Falls and she could take naps in between classes!

It was awesome!

"Yeah, the dorms are actually pretty nice."

"She is closer to the library, that's the only reason why she isn't bitching." Buffy argued, "Her roommate is a freshman."

Caroline winced "Yeah, we totally need apartments next year. Oh, maybe we can get apartments with adjoining doors!"

Instantly, Buffy paled.

The idea of adjoining-doored apartments sounded horrifying, plus, while her friends were going to be seniors, she was going to be a college graduate next year with a newborn.

The likely hood of her living in a college town like Whitmore was slim to numb.

Honestly, Buffy doubted she would be in Virginia at all.

She hoped she wouldn't still be trapped in Mystic Falls.

"Let's put a pin in that. My post-graduate plans are not set."

"I still vote New York." Caroline teased as she finally focused back on Buffy "You build your art name and buy a gallery and I come in to rule Broadway."

Buffy barked out a laugh.

Given she was about to have a baby, who would be in constant danger, her plans to travel the world and open up an art gallery might have to be put on hold. But the benefit of eternity was that she would have time to do everything.

"Let me pass my finals then I will get with the planning."

Slowly, the memories of their fabulous trip to New York for Buffy's first art showing faded as Caroline once again allowed her eyes to focus on the purple dress.

Buffy was refusing to talk about plans for her future and was wearing baggy clothes.

Buffy hated baggy clothes without pockets!

She loved hoodies and dungarees because of the pockets, yet there were no pockets on this dress.

Buffy would never buy a baggy dress without somewhere to store a stake for emergencies!

"Okay, B, I gotta ask, are you okay? That dress screams not okay?"

Buffy instantly tensed for a moment, her eyes quickly shifting down to her baggy purple dress. Slowly though, she rolled her eyes, her baby bump wasn't the least bit visible in this dress, which meant Caroline was just insulting her outfit.

"I'm fine."

"Just not used to seeing you in baggy clothes. Not a good look for you." Caroline pushed making Buffy raise an eyebrow before she sighed and turned to Elena "I'm gonna be late. See ya tonight."

Elena nodded before Buffy headed off without another word.

The second Buffy turned the corner down the hall, Elena focused back on Caroline "Caroline, what the hell?"

"What? Buffy hates baggy clothes! Always has."

Unless she was painting, needed extra weapons, or hiding from the cops, Buffy tended to stick to jeans and leather.

Knowing she couldn't argue with that, Elena clenched her jaw and glanced at Bonnie for help. Sure enough, the witch seemed just as concerned as she did right now.

Caroline was acting suspiciously, which was not a good sign.

"It's one of my old dresses." Elena announced suddenly, knowing Caroline was more likely to believe that she had bought the dress given it was more her style.

Comfort over fashion.

She and Buffy had drastically different tastes in clothes.

"Buffy slipped hot sauce all down her white dress after her first class so I lent it to her. Look, do you girls have any plans tonight? I think we could all use some girly fun, especially Buffy."

Given Buffy was living with Klaus, there was no way she wouldn't jump for a few hours of freedom.

Bonnie smiled brightly, that sounded like the best idea they'd had in weeks "I'm in. Shane taught me some small spells I've been wanting to try."

Plus, she wanted to check on Buffy and the baby not that she could say that right now.

Caroline merely crossed her arms and smirked, her mind momentarily shaken away from the Buffy being pregnant theory "Oh, creepy professor guy is just Shane now."

"He's not creepy." Bonnie argued.

Elena shook her head in amusement before smiling at her friend "We're not judging."

"I am." Caroline said with a smile.

Elena rolled her eyes though she still smiled as she focused on Bonnie "Don't listen to her. So Girl's Night? I texted Stefan, he said we could have their place. I think he's trying to make things up to me and Buffy."

**

MYSTIC FALLS, VIRGINIA

"She was wearing Baggy clothes, Stefan!"

Stefan winced, quickly having to pull his phone away from his ear to save his eardrums from Caroline's screaming.

It was safe to say Caroline's scream could rival Elena's literal Banshee scream.

"What is your point, Caroline?" He asked pointedly as he headed toward Damon's room, if she thought that was evidence then she was crazy.

Caroline merely huffed "Baggy clothes means maternity dummy. AKA: Buffy is showing and hiding it."

Which meant Buffy was further along in this possible pregnancy than they had imagined.

It definitely pointed to their theory that Buffy, in her angered broken state had gone to Klaus the night Elena found out she killed Warren. The one person that would not look at her like a broken doll for taking a human life.

Stefan sighed "Caroline don't push her, if she thinks we're on to her she may bolt and then we all lose her and we will never know for sure what is going on."

And with that, Stefan hung up and pushed open his brother's bedroom door.

Unlike Caroline who was determined to prove that Buffy was pregnant, which he suspected was mainly because it meant she was about to be an auntie,  Damon had taken the exact opposite approach.

Desperate to prove that Buffy was baby free and infirtile.

Stepping further into the room, Stefan froze as he spotted a photo on Damon's bed.

It was Damon, Alaric, and Buffy.

Given how annoyed Buffy and Alaric looked, it was crystal clear Damon took the photo to annoy them both.

That was when it clicked for Stefan.

Alaric was dead and Buffy was literally Damon's last living friend in this town, even if she had reluctantly become his friend, and he had pretty much badgered her until they were friends...she was the last one.

And if she was pregnant with Klaus's child, then there was no way she wouldn't be pulled out of this town the second she gave birth.

By living with Klaus and raising a kid with him, over time her friendship with Damon could cease to exist.

Letting his eyes scan all of the papers on the floor, Stefan quirked a curious brow, trying to figure out what his brother was up to only to let out a small chuckle as he spotted the book which had clearly been launched across the room in a fit of horror.

"What to expect when you're expecting?"

Damon shivered in horror at the mere mention of the book "Horrifying book. God pregnancy is disgusting." He muttered in disgust, not once glancing up from the case he was rifling through.

Stefan shook his head in amusement before watching as his brother continued to dig through papers like a man possessed "What are you doing?"

Since when did Damon willingly do research?

"Proving you wrong." Damon huffed "Buffy is my best friend, I know her better than you ergo I'm going to prove your ass wrong."

At one point Stefan had known Buffy better, but that year in Sunnydale where Stefan had been in the Dark Dimensions with Bonnie, Damon had learned a lot more.

Plus since her resurrection, they had finally fallen into a comfortable space as friends.

They opened up to each other...most of the time.

Finally finding what he was looking for, Damon grabbed the postcard and turned back to his brother only to narrow his eyes as he spotted the photo in Stefan's hands "If you tell her I have that I'll kill you." He warned, quickly snatching it away before shoving the postcard into his brother's chest.

"Remember that?"

"New Orleans."

"1942, to be exact, when we were both there." Damon muttered before bending back down toward the chest "And 70-odd years later our Bubbles was taken to that very city."

Stefan sighed slightly as he remembered back to his time in New Orleans, given he had almost gone full ripper again before going right off to the army as a way to atone for his mistakes, it wasn't the most positive memory "Oh yeah, what was the name of that girl you used to hang out with?"

Damon couldn't help but scoff "That was no ordinary girl. That was Charlotte. Not my point, what was that thing they used to say about New Orleans witches again?"

Stefan just sighed as he stared down at the old postcard "New Orleans witches are born with blood on their hands."

Stefan still couldn't figure out where Damon was going with this.

"Damon..."

"Yep, that was it thanks, Stef. Reminds me why I never went back. Anyway, in 42, I met a witch out of the 7 covens' reach. She was banished or on strike, I don't know, didn't care."

Despite the fact Damon sounded like he was trying to make a point, Stefan still couldn't figure out what the hell he was hinting at.

Why would some long-dead witch suddenly be the reason Damon was digging through old memories?

It made no sense!

Spotting the utter confusion on his brother's face, Damon groaned before finally turning back to face him, a harsh scoff escaping him "This is supposed to be a whole miracle baby right? Well, we are going to need someone powerful enough to confirm it. Someone so powerful enough that she even broke a sire bond."

Before Damon could even try and march past him, Stefan was blocking his path "Let me get this straight, you want to find this..." He quickly grabbed the old business card Damon was clutching tightly "Valerie La Marche? Reminder a New Orleans Witch, who is probably dead to find out if this is true?! New Orleans witches are the ones that kidnapped Buffy!"

"And if Val is alive, she wasn't in the 'In crowd'  then, I doubt she is now." Damon snapped back before smirking, purposely raising a challenging brow at his brother "Buffy was kidnapped by witches? Let's find out why. Pack your bags, baby bro, we're going back to Bourbon Street."

**

Girls Night.

It had been way too long since the terrible foursome had actually had a proper girls' night. Truthfully, Elena was pretty the last time all four of them hung out together at once had been Buffy's 21st birthday.

AKA: Over 7 Months Ago!

That was too long to be acceptable.

Determined to make the most of tonight, Elena couldn't stop humming happily as she searched through the Salvatore Celler, in search of something fabulous and expensive.

Given everything that had gone down with Stefan and him messing with Jeremy, she intended to make use of his attempt to make some sort of amends.

Instantly, her eyes landed on the fancy case filled with champagne bottles.

Champagne she could only guess was more expensive than her car.

With her choice of beverage for the evening made, Elena quickly grabbed the case grabbing four bottles.

Popping the cork on one of them, she quickly grabbed an empty wine bottle from her bag, pouring the champagne into it before starting to fill the champagne bottle with Apple Juice.

Just because Buffy couldn't drink, didn't mean she could drink juice in style.

Plus, this way Elena had a spare bottle of fancy champagne saved for a rainy day.

With all four bottles ready to go, Elena placed them back in the crate and quickly rushed up straight, grinning ear to ear as she entered the parlor room.

Buffy was in the middle of painting Caroline's toenails, Caroline was trying to put a mud mask on Bonnie's face who was still trying to braid Buffy's hair.

They had literally formed a beauty circle, though it looked more like a pretzel.

Instantly, she snorted "How often did you three do this while I was at the library not skipping study hall in High School?"

Given how awkward the positions technically were and the way the three girls moved with ease, it was very clear this was not the first time they had done a beauty circle.

The trio glanced at each other before focusing back on Elena "Study hall was beauty hall." They answered in unison.

Elena laughed as she moved to place the crate down on the table "Caroline are you sure you didn't use compulsion to get valedictorian?"

A throw pillow was quickly launched in Elena's direction.

Shaking her head in amusement, Elena quickly raised her hands in surrender before starting to place a bottle of champagne in front of each girl "Looky what I found?"

The circle finally broke, Caroline awkwardly moving along the floor to avoid smudging her toenails while Bonnie and Buffy quickly threw themselves onto the couch.

Caroline whistled as she picked up the champagne "Is this from Stefan's secret stash?"

Buffy perked up, eyeing the lid as Caroline showed her and sure enough she nodded confirming Caroline's words "Yep. Those have been in the cellar since 1892."

Given that Caroline hadn't known the exact details she shifted her gaze to Buffy, watching her closely.

"It was originally a case of six. Each one, to be opened at different points in his life. The day he got control over his blood loss..."

He had in fact finally done that.

"One bottle for when he had Damon finally made up."

They finally had...sort of.

They would always clash, but they were in a much better place than they had been prior to moving back to Mystic Falls five years ago.

As Buffy laid her head in Bonnie's lap being cautious of her new plates, she didn't notice the way all three girls were watching her closely as she continued to list off all of the moments Stefan had declared worthy of the champagne.

Caroline couldn't help but smile softly as she watched Buffy list them all off with ease, not a hint of doubt.

She remembered everything he had told her.

"One for if he finally decided to end his life, number four was for Lexi's 500th birthday. Oh and now I hate Damon again."

All three girls snorted at the way Buffy's face scrunched up.

"What about the last two?" Caroline pushed, desperate to see if maybe just maybe Buffy remembered. Because, if she remembered something like this, something Stefan would have told her back before all of the memory changes and mess-ups, it had to mean something.

It meant, that maybe Caroline would get to use her binder one day after all.

Buffy just sighed as she played with the label of her own bottle, the last two momentous occasions spinning through her mind on a loop. It was kind of ironic now given The Cure of it all "If he ever got married and had a kid. Given The Cure he is going to be pissed about this-" She reminded them gesturing to the sacred bottles of champagne "But then again, he kidnapped my brother so eh-"

Without hesitation, Buffy opened her bottle bringing it to her lips, trying not to pout at the familiar taste.

Juice.

Great
.

Being pregnant sucked!

Caroline could do nothing but stare at Buffy for a long moment, she was stunned right now.

Clearly, even if Buffy was pregnant, Stefan was still on her mind in some way.

According to Stefan, Buffy had started crying during their argument at Miss Mystic Falls. There were clearly still feelings there, buried under all of the pain and betrayals.

Buffy had remembered all six moments!

That was not a small thing!

Plus, one other small detail that had Caroline convinced that Buffy deep down under all the anger and rage still loved Stefan was the way her hands had started shaking around the bottle as she uttered those finally two reasons.

Feeling eyes on her, Buffy groaned in annoyance, her remembering those things meant nothing!

"He told me at the gallery showing we went to in Williamsburg in High School, no biggy. He also told me to kill him if he went all ripper that day, so it was a big intel dump day."

Elena let out a small breath as she stared at Buffy "I can't believe you remember all that."

Buffy rolled her eyes, refusing to acknowledge the fact that she had remembered every word he had said so easily.

It had been so crystal clear in her head, but it didn't matter. She was pregnant with Klaus's kid!

"I also remember Caroline is deathly afraid of the color orange and if you try and make her wear it she will scream and cry! I remember a lot of stuff."

"I do not cry around orange!" Caroline argued.

Instantly, Elena, Bonnie, and Buffy all stared back at her flatly "Yes, you do."

Caroline grumbled unhappily before bringing her champagne to her lips, desperately needing the liquid courage right now.

Bonnie chuckled as she softly stroked Buffy's head before quickly glancing back at Elena, purposely gesturing at Buffy's bottle of champagne.

"Apple juice." Elena mouthed.

Instantly, Bonnie sighed in relief and took a sip of her own drink, letting the bubbly liquid rush down her throat. Truthfully, it was nice to have someone else in the know about this pregnancy. Literally, the only person other than Buffy she could talk to had been Klaus of all people.

It wasn't exactly an enjoyable thing for her.

Talking to Klaus over the phone on a regular basis regarding updates about the baby and Buffy's ever-weakening powers as the birth grew closer was so weird!

It was unnatural!

What made it more annoying though was that Buffy would tell Klaus all of this, and then he would call her to check that Buffy hadn't left anything out in an effort to keep him from panicking!

At least this way, she and Elena could take shifts, dealing with the paranoid father-to-be.

"Someone wrong B?" Caroline asked noticing the look on Buffy's face as she put down the champagne bottle.

Buffy forced a smile on her face "I'm good. Just annoyed Damon hid all the whiskey." She joked tapping Bonnie's hand which had stopped stroking her head "I didn't say stop."

Bonnie laughed and started stroking her head again.

"So did the boys mention where they were going?" Buffy asked curiously as she turned slightly on Bonnie's lap so she could focus on Elena.

Quickly glancing down at her text chain with Stefan, Elena merely shrugged.

He had been silent since he mentioned he and Damon were going out of town for the day.

"No idea. Something about brother bonding."

Buffy grinned at that "Well, I'm going to go steal Damon's credit card and order Chinese."

Bonnie's eyes widened and she couldn't help but laugh, if Buffy was still desperate to order take-out it was clear that Klaus had been a bit more strict on her eating habits now that she was pregnant.

He must be driving her absolutely mentally.

"Buffy!"

Buffy merely chuckled before speeding upstairs only to re-appear a second later with Damon's fancy gold card, which he probably compelled off some businessman "Damon let Rebekah ruin my shoes!"

Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena all glanced at each other before turning back to Buffy with passionate eyes.

"Order two of everything."

You never messed with a girl's shoes!

As Buffy started prepping their order, Caroline took another gulp of champagne only to tense up, her mood deflating slightly as she spotted the text message appear on Buffy's screen.

While it was nice to see that Buffy's home screen was a photo of the two of them and Bonnie at Buffy's 18th birthday midnight cocktail party, what Caroline didn't find so nice was the person texting Buffy.

Klaus.

"Um...B the devil is texting?"

Quickly catching the phone as Caroline tossed it over, Buffy groaned as she spotted the text.

He wanted to know when she would be back.

Given that he was leaving for New Orleans in two days to help Elijah with the witches she had expected him to be a pain about this abrupt girls' night.

He had literally given her a curfew!

Sending a quick text back to let him know she was fine and would be back in a couple of hours, Buffy turned her phone onto silent before grabbing the tablet from Elena's hands "Okay, I am so in need of orange chicken, oh and Dim Sum."

Buffy quickly shot all three girls a warning look "If any of you tell Sandra I ate someone else's Dim Sum there will be adult content, understood?"

"She's gonna smell it on you." Bonnie teased.

Sandra had this sixth sense when it came to food. Especially, when it came to dishes from her home country. If she suspected you had eaten something she knew she could make better, she would rush off to the kitchen and fill you with food until you declared her the best chef in the world.

"Eh, worth it." Buffy mumbled as she placed their order.

To be truthful, normally she wouldn't risk it, but given she would soon be revealing that she was in fact about to give Sandra a baby girl, it was the perfect time.

The second Sandra knew this baby was a girl all would be forgiven and the boys would finally stop texting her desperate to know if they should go into hiding because there was another baby boy on the way.

Just as Buffy jumped back onto the couch, Caroline eyed her closely "Since when do you and the hybrid check in? What else do you do?"

The pointed disapproving tone in Caroline's voice cued Buffy to arch a brow before shrugging, she could not give anything away right now. She could not risk anything when it came to this baby.

"He's the only other creature on the planet as strong as me. He's useful for sparing. It's fun hitting him in the face."

Technically, that was the truth.

Loopholes rocked!

Elena sensing the tension building between the godsisters, quickly turned to Buffy, a playful grin on her lips "Not as fun as hitting Damon though right?"

"Ooh." Buffy chuckled "That's mean." She joked before groaning as Caroline continued to stare at her.

"Care, you look like you are about to blow up."

"No, I don't." Caroline argued quickly plastering a bright fake smile on her face.

Buffy just snorted pointing her champagne bottle right at Caroline's face "Nice try. Here I will give you another take. Ready, set, action!" She mocked playfully.

As the tension continued to build between the two blondes, the air slowly suffocating and thinning under their intense challenging stares to see who would break first, Bonnie finally clapped her hands together loudly.

Officially breaking the stare-off.

For the time being.

"Ok!"
She announced loudly drawing everyone's attention "New Girl's night rule. No boy talk, yeah? Plus, why talk when we have this?"

Quickly, Bonnie pulled out a plastic baggy filled with green herbs.

"Is that stoner tea?" Caroline exclaimed in shock only for all of them to freeze as Buffy cut in.

"Stoner tea is a lighter shade of green."

All three girls turned and stared at the blonde expecting some form of an answer but Buffy just shrugged "I lived in L.A. and Grandpa Seth smoked it constantly!" Pausing Buffy turned her gaze to Elena "Before he died, he used to keep a stash at our house there, when Jeremy crashed with us that summer in Junior High he found it. He and Gramps were stoned the whole summers"

Elena couldn't help but sputter in disbelief as the pieces finally clicked together after all of these years "Of course it was Grandpa!"

She had never once been able to click just how Jeremy had gotten into smoking but now it made so much sense.

Caroline quirked a curious brow "Just how much of a stoner was your grandfather?"

"You don't want to know." Elena and Buffy answered.

When he died, his lungs had been more weed than oxygen. He hadn't even clicked that it was the 21st century, he had been so hopped up all the time that he was still living in the 70s.

Bonnie shook her head in amusement "It's spirit tea." She explained just as Buffy stole a pillow off Elena, quickly sticking her tongue out like a child.

Elena glared at her but when she tried to snatch the pillow back she quickly found her butt hitting the floor

Buffy had pushed her off the couch with her foot.

Caroline quickly covered her mouth trying not to laugh, while Bonnie bit her tongue to keep from giggling at the annoyed look on Elena's face.

"It opens up your chi or whatever. Come on. It's not drugs." She forced herself to continue through her stifled giggles "Shane is helping me do natural magic without having to access the spirits."

"Mm-hmm." Caroline sassed.

The judgy tone cued Bonnie to glare at her "Don't judge."

Caroline rolled her eyes only to pause as she clicked that now all three girls were glaring at her.

This was girls' night!

There was a no-judgment rule on girls' night!

It had been the rule forever!

"We will lock you in the closet." Buffy threatened, though her eyes were dancing with mischief "With no alcohol. And make you wear Orange Poko-dots. You know the rule about girls' night Carebear."

That certainly got Caroline's attention.

As much as it killed her, Caroline finally relented, letting out a loud huff "Ok. Fine. I hereby vow not to be judgmental for the rest of the evening. Even if you three are potentially ruining your lives as I stand idly by, it's your choice."

Elena frowned in confusion, why was she being bought into this?

"What did I do?"

"Not telling Xander you're a banshee." Caroline reminded her.

Buffy just sighed, as much as she loved Caroline to pieces and would protect her from anyone who would cause her harm, it didn't change the fact she had a habit of being way too blunt sometimes and butting into business that wasn't her own.

She had literally done it by revealing the fact that Angel had died to Stefan before Buffy had been ready for the dead boyfriend conversation.

While she did agree that Elena should tell Xander, given that she was the one that died and woke up a supernatural creature and he literally left town to help the fiance he left at the altar, Elena could take all the time she needed.

Plus, it wasn't like Xander had exactly been keeping Elena updated with the Anya stuff!

"Caroline!" Buffy hissed warningly "Not the time."

Reaching out, Buffy squeezed Elena's hand supportively before raising her bottle, hoping to shift them away from the now very depressing mode they were on the verge of entering "Can we just get very drunk right now?" She asked.

Sure enough, that did the trick and the mode shifted.

"I can drink to that." Elena laughed hiding her hurt at Xander's name being mentioned.

She couldn't focus on Xander and Anya right now.

She just wanted to get drunk as hell.
