Years later, Jamie grew up to be a beautiful woman. She looked around her late twenties/early thirties, but she was really 1350 years old. Since her father died, her stepmother and stepsister, Sigyn, showed their true colors. They treated her horribly, making her do everything they had asked. They made her move in the loft of the barn they had. They even told her that she was nothing special since her name wasn't originated from Asgard. But through everything, she kept her promise to her father: to always be nice to them.
One day, Jamie was waking up from her not very long sleep. Then her stepmother came barging in.

"Jamie!" Sanem yelled then ordered, "Get down here and feed these animals! Then prepare breakfast for Sigyn and myself!"
"Yes, Lady Sanem," Jamie answered groggily.
"And for Odin's sake, clean this barn," Sanem remarked and left the barn.
Jamie got up and changed her attire.

She fed the animals then went in the house to prepare breakfast. Once done, she ate her own then went to clean the barn. She was brushing one of the horses when she heard a familiar voice.
"You still being worked to death by your so called family?" Lady Sif remarked with a smirk.

"You seem to do the same when it comes to your training," Jamie pointed out with a sly smile as she continued brushing the horse's mane.
"So true," Lady Sif responded as she approached her friend then wondered, "So, would you have enough time to go into town? I need some assistance picking out a dress for the royal dinner tonight."
"Is Prince Thor asking how ravishing the dress is?" Jamie wondered, that sly smile still on her face.
Lady Sif chuckled and answered, "As a matter of fact, he is."
For a while, Thor and Lady Sif have been engaged. They were getting close to the wedding day, so this was the main celebration going around the kingdom.
"Well, I would be honored to accompany you. But you know Lady Sanem will not allow my departure unless it is for something she and Sigyn require," Jamie pointed out.
And at that moment, Sigyn started coming into the barn.

"Jamie, Mother needs you to pick up our dresses. We need to look ravishing for the prince and other royal suitors coming to Asgard," Sigyn said.
"Yes, Lady Sigyn," Jamie nodded.
Sigyn nodded back, but with a devilish smirk, she purposefully knocked a bucket of water on Jamie.
"My apologies, dear sister," Sigyn smirked, saying "dear sister" in vain then left.
Sif looked at Jamie in concern.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yes. I can handle this," Jamie assured.
She closed her eyes and concentrated. The water that soaked into her clothes immediately rose up and Jamie brought it to the bucket.
"I continue to forget you can do that," Sif commented, making them both laugh, then she added, "Well, you can come to town with me. So let's go."
"Alright. If you insist," Jamie said teasingly.
They then left for town.

A/N Jamie's life does seem a little rough, but at least she has Sif to help her.
