"Hey, Eddie, can I talk to you alone?" I ask.
"Of course!" Eddie replies, turning away from Netflix. He follows me into my room.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's just my anxiety. I'm trying so hard to get you guys to like me but, I just feel like I'm failing! It's just when I was dating my ex Jeremiah, he always abused me. I can't get over it!" Eddie cries. I take this as my chance. I wrap my arms around him, letting him cry into me.
"Eddie, he's gone. You're here. Plus, they love you. Especially me." I say. I've never seen Eddie smile so wide. When we go downstairs, Eddie and I take our places next to each other.
"Let's watch, Chucky!" Bev suggests. Eddie starts to stir in his seat.
"It's okay, Eds. I'll protect you." I tell him. Within 3 minutes, Eddie is cuddled into me. I couldn't be happier.
"Chee, I'm scared!" Eddie yells. I pick up Eddie and I bring him to my room. He's crying. I rub Eddie's back. When he stopped crying, I pull him into my lap.
"Is this okay?" I ask.
"Yeah. It's more than okay." Eddie says. I smile to myself.
