Hey guys here is chapter seven! Dangerous News

Leigh couldn't help but to smirk as the words seemed to flow through her fingertips and onto the computer document. She had no idea how easy it would be to write about the views of sex from a different perspective. She didn't want to admit it, and she would never say it aloud, but Jason made her body feel things. His touch sent a blaze to her skin that made her insides melt into a broth. She sighed heavily, looking over her draft with careful eyes. She had decided on the title, A single Glance. She had no idea where it came from, but, it just felt right. After all, it was the look in Jason's eyes that sent her heart thudding uncontrollably. His single glance had her bending to his will, and if it wasn't for the fact that she was embarrassed, she would have shouted it from the rooftops.

Closing her eyes, she couldn't help but to think that everything seemed better this morning. The sun streamed through the veil curtains and gave the rather dark room a warm glow. The smell of wonderfully cooked breakfast traveled up the stairs and through the cracks of the doors just to invade her nose. A small grin seemed to never leave her lips, and she found herself sighing blissfully every now and then. She hated to think that it was all because of Jason relieving her of her stress last night, but if that was the case then she wasn't going to fight the feeling. She hadn't woken up feeling so good in what seemed to be ages.

"Feeling inspired this morning?" Jason asked from behind her. She whipped around in her chair almost instantly, taking in a discreet breath at what was in front of her. His torso was bare, with tiny beads of water dripping from her black hair. A white towel was wrapped around his waist, tied tightly yet emphasizing his chiseled V-cut shape. His plush lips were curved to the side in a lopsided grin as he held two mugs of coffee in his hand. Leigh grabbed a mug quickly, diverting her eyes from his body and forcing them to stare blankly inside of the cup.

"I had to start writing eventually," she stated nonchalantly. "Class is tomorrow and my professor was clear on the deadlines." He nodded his head slowly, taking a seat at the edge of his own bed.

"Well, did I help any?" The question had Leigh choking on her coffee as her eyes bulged. Clearing her throat in an unladylike manner, she closed her laptop and stood up from the desk.

"I suppose you did," she finally said after recollecting her composure. "I'm not as lost with the assignment as I was before."

"Don't you think we should talk about last night?" he asked, quirking his head to the side as if he was examining her. Her cheeks flushed red, and she discreetly made a heap of blonde tresses fall into her face to disguise her embarrassment.

"What about it?" she asked her voice void of any emotion. What was he going to say? That it was a mistake or worse that he didn't like it and thought she was pathetic? The last thing she needed was for Jason McFarroll to make fun of her. She'd probably slam her fist across his face again if that ever happened.

"If it isn't obvious by now," he started, rising from the bed and standing in front of her. "I dabble in some erotic practices such as bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism."

"You mean BDSM?" She asked distantly, grabbing her bag and forcing her laptop to fit in it. She could tell where this conversation was going and she didn't want to be a part of it whatsoever.

"So, you're familiar with the terms?" he asked seemingly interested as a smirk graced his lips followed by his eyebrows rising. She shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm a writer. We have to read a variety of genres in order to be good at what we do, so yes I am vaguely familar," was her response as she continued to keep a blank expression on her face.

"So you practice it too?"

"Of course not," she instantly said. "What would make you think that?"

"You called me sir, last night," he said, inching closer. "It was almost like you were falling into the submissive role-"

"And what would that make you, my domineer?" She scoffed, feigning humor in the situation as she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "Let's get something straight, Jason. Last night was strictly for the sake of my essay. There's no underlining meaning behind the foreplay or what went on. We were just experimenting." Placing a hand on his cheek she gave him a sympathetic smile. "You're acting like an insecure virgin; last night meant nothing." With that, she gave his shoulder a pat and walked out of the room and into the elevator as quickly as she could.

She was almost certain that she would trip over her shoes, or do something else extremely embarrassing. She didn't even know where she was going. She had no plans for the day other than to sit in her room and work on her essay, but she was so eager to escape that the minor detail slipped her mind. She leaned against the glass behind her, watching as the elevator slowly went down. She didn't even know if he had bought her careless act, and if he didn't she knew that he was going to try extra harder to make her knees weak.

She gritted her teeth as the elevator doors opened and revealed Janice. She was dressed in a plain black pants suit with her brown hair hanging in loose ringlets. She had a tablet device in her hands, quickly scribbling on it. "Hello, Mrs. McFarroll," Leigh felt obligated to speak seeing as Janice was blocking the entrance way out of the elevator. Janice looked up from the tablet for the first time. Her eyes read confusion as her they swept up and down Leigh. Disapproval came next before she let out what seemed to be an annoyed sigh.

"Lana Mercer," she said in a self-assured tone. "I've been meaning to have a word with you." Leigh cleared her throat and straightened her back.

"Actually, it's Leigh Mercer," she corrected, feeling as if Janice would pounce on her at any given moment. Janice gave her a blank stare before her face forced into a smile.

"Right, Leigh," she said slowly. "Follow me." She turned her back almost immediately and Leigh couldn't help but to grimace at the back of her head. She had never had a solo chat with Janice, but her reputation was already preceding itself. She seemed like a mega bitch, and Leigh wanted nothing more than to trip her as she quickly walked by. Nevertheless, Leigh followed her into what appeared to be a sunroom. Leigh was never the one to just appreciate nature, but there was something about the room that made her insides stir pleasantly.

With long glass windows available to see the colorful plants outside, and an interior set to match the blissful colors, she couldn't help but to perk up. "Please, have a seat," Janice said to her. She did as she told, taking a seat in the plush outdoor chair and resting her arms on the arm rests. Janice mimicked her movements, motioning to one of their staff to bring in a tray of tea. "You're engaged to my son, Jason correct?" she asked. Nodding her head slowly, Leigh looked at her in a dumbfounded way. She didn't know what Janice could possibly have to say about her and Jason's relationship. She didn't expect to get the whole what are your intentions with my son lecture, but that's where it seemed like it was going. "That was a bit unpredictable."

"Right," she couldn't help but to agree before she realized how bitter she actually sounded. "I mean, you're his mother you know how aggravating he can be at times," Leigh explained.

"So why are you marrying him?" Janice asked rather invasively. Leigh choked, she wasn't expecting for people to question her motives for marrying Jason. After all, they held the ball annually and the McFarroll's always claimed a wife they hardly knew.

"I love him, of course," Leigh said with slight hesitation.

"No you don't," Janice smirked. "I seen you two dancing at the ball, and although there is clear sexual chemistry, you seemed rather repulsed by him."

"I had just met him then and I-"

"I can assure you that if you're only in this relationship for money then this will not end well for you," she interrupted, her face turned into disgust. "The McFarroll's don't tolerate gold-diggers-"

"I'm not a gold-digger," Leigh exclaimed, feeling her face heat up at the accusation. There was silence for a moment while Janice poured hot water from the kettle into a small tea cup.

"Jason has relations with dangerous people, Leigh," she finally said. "There are people out there that want his trust fund and seek to have it and they will hurt anyone they can to get to it; including you." Leigh raised her eyebrows in confusion, not understanding Janice's words. "I'm assuming Jason didn't tell you that?" she asked sarcastically. "Why do you think he moved you in immediately after the announcement of your engagement? People will hurt you to get to him."

"Then give him his trust fund already!" Leigh found herself yelling.

"My husband and I will not sacrifice our morals just because our eldest son is arrogant and doesn't want to claim a wife. Anything that happens to him was brought upon himself." Leigh scowled her breathing heavy as she stood up abruptly.

"Are we done?"

"I understand why my son is intrigued by you," she said calmly. "You have a backbone —which is different from his usual girlfriends. As a word of advice from an older woman to a naive girl, get out of the marriage while you still have your life."

"Is that a threat?" Leigh asked in shock, she couldn't believe what Janice was telling her.

"It's a promise," she assured. "You will be sealing your own deadly fate if you married my son." Leigh scoffed, turning on her heels and stalking towards the door. She had never been so angry and confused before a day in her life. She had been called a gold-digger, and then threatened. These things were the examples as to why she never wanted to get mixed up in McFarroll affairs. She was a pawn, and they were happy to use her as one. Turning around quickly, she felt the need to justify her actions.

"I'm marrying Jason because underneath his arrogant and aggravating persona, I see a better person. A person who will bring honor to his family name, not fear, and a person I would love to spend the rest of my life with." With that, she escaped the room as quickly as she could. Her mind was racing a hundred miles per hour. She had never sat down and thought about it, but she thought that Jason cared enough for her to let her know if her life was in danger. She had never heard so much fuss about people trying to get a trust fund, and it was ridiculous. It made her wonder how much money was at stake and what other secrets he was keeping from her.

"I thought you left," came Jason's voice as the two bumped into each other from the hallway. She glared at him, making him flinch at the sudden spiteful movement. "Is something wrong?"

"I just had a talk with your mother, lovely woman by the way," she said in a sarcastic tone.

"What did she say?"

"She made me aware that you have a shit load of explaining to do," she replied back, placing her hands on her hips. "And I would do it fast because my hands are feeling a little violent right now." Jason gulped, his adam's apple bobbing in his throat as he looked warily at the blonde before him.

"Okay," he said.

"Okay, what?" she asked back through gritted teeth.

"I'll tell you everything you need to know."
