This is my first attempt at angst, so please don't judge too harshly. I wasn't feeling this oneshot that much, so I apologize if it isn't my best work. I promise I'll have a better upload this weekend. I don't own any MHA characters, or the image. Reader has the abilty to use the four elements at will, her hero name is Elemental.

Sounds of explosions and battle cries were getting louder and louder, but Shoto wasn't paying any attention to that. The only thing he was focused on was the (H/C) in his arms, who was struggling to breathe.
It all started when Shoto and (Y/N) were called in for a press conference earlier that day, due to them being the most popular hero couple at the moment. Although they were not happy about it, they had an image to keep up, so they agreed and went to the conference. It was supposed to just be a simple conference, just talking about their relationship and plans for the future. It was the exact opposite of that. The first forty-five minutes were pretty standard. Questions about where their relationship stood at the moment, how both (Y/N)'s and Shoto's fathers felt about their relationship, and how their fellow heroes reacted were asked. Shoto and (Y/N) answered each question with a fake smile upon their faces, trying to hide the fact that they wished to be literally anywhere else.
Fifteen minutes later, Deku was spotted by someone in the crowd and was brought up to the front with Shoto and (Y/N). The three of them kept answering questions until the large screen above the three heroes was hacked. The screen that was supposed to be showing the three heroes, changed to show a black silhouette of a man. "Hello civilians and pros!" A familiar voice greeted. (Y/N), Shoto, and Midoriya all looked at each other with wide eyes. "Shigaraki!" The three whispered simultaneously. "Sorry to interrupt your little press conference, but we noticed you have someone we need. Just hand them over and all will be fine!" Shigaraki explained. On cue, a bunch of villains came flooding through one of Kurogiri's portals, stomping towards the stage. "Get Elemental!" One of Shigaraki's henchmen exclaimed. (Y/N)'s eyes widened as she realized she was the one they needed. "Deku! Call reinforcements!" Shoto exclaimed. Deku nodded and quickly began calling for backup. "(Y/N)! We're gonna have to fight our way out of this! You ready?" Shoto asked. (Y/N) smiled and nodded. "Let's do this! Our first priority is getting the civilians out of here safe!" She responded, rushing towards the civilians. Shoto nodded and followed after her.
"Head to the back exit! Remain calm! We will protect you!" (Y/N) shouted. The civilians listened and quickly made their way out. "Oh no you don't!" Toga exclaimed, rushing towards (Y/N). (Y/N) quickly summoned some flames and shot them towards Toga. Toga was held at bay until blue flames sprouted out of nowhere and burned (Y/N)'s left side, causing her to lose her balance and fall over. "Shit! (Y/N)!" Shoto exclaimed, preparing to rush over to her. "No! Help the civilians! Deku, where's reinforcements?!" (Y/N) exclaimed, ignoring the stinging sensation in her side. "Kacchan and Red Riot should be here soon! Shoto and I will continue to protect civilians!" Deku declared. Deku ran over to the exit and began guiding civilians out while Shoto stood at the back of the group, keeping his eyes open for any threats. After about 10 minutes, all the civilians had been evacuated from the building, leaving Shoto, (Y/N), and Izuku. (Y/N) was still on the ground, using her fire and wind to keep Dabi and Toga at bay. Shoto had rushed over and pulled (Y/N) to her feet, sending an ice wall towards Dabi and Toga at the same time. Deku was busy taking care of Muscular, Spinner, and some other random henchmen that worked for Shigaraki. Their leader remained nowhere in sight.
Out of nowhere, an explosion was heard, breaking half of the windows. Kirishima and Bakugo came in through one of the broken windows. "Alright you damn nerd! Backup is here!" Bakugou exclaimed, setting off another explosion towards Muscular, causing him to jump away from Izuku. "Ground Zero! Red Riot! Thanks for getting here soon!" Deku exclaimed, punching Spinner in the stomach. While (Y/N) was distracted, she felt a sharp pain in her right shoulder. She gasped in pain and looked over to see Toga standing there, knife buried in her shoulder. "Son of a bitch!" (Y/N) shouted, sending Toga back with a gust of wind. For the next forty-five minutes, the five pro heroes continued to fight the League of Villains, and it seemed like they were going to win. (Y/N) wiped sweat off her forehead after finally knocking Spinner out, and looked over to see Izuku fighting Dabi, completely unaware of the blonde psychopath sneaking up behind him. "Deku! Look out!" She exclaimed, rushing towards him. She quickly pushed him over and took the hit, feeling pain in her stomach. Not only was she stabbed by Toga, she was also hit by one of Bakugou's explosions. It turns out Bakugou had also seen Toga sneaking up behind Deku, so he decided to do something about it. (Y/N) was sent flying into the wall, hitting the ground with a thud. Shoto's eyes widened and he ran over to his girlfriend, worry blooming in his chest. "(Y/N)! Wake up!" He exclaimed, holding her limp body close to his. "I'm getting her out of here! Can you handle this?" Shoto questioned, standing up. "Go! Get her help!" Kirishima yelled, continuing to fight a random villain. Shoto nodded and ran out of the building.
Now here we are, a distressed Shoto running with his critically injured girlfriend in his arms. He was just outside of the building when he felt a sharp pain in his left arm. He looked over to see his elbow decaying, just like how Aizawa's did all those years ago. Shoto quickly jumped back, not allowing his elbow to decay any more than it already had. "Shigaraki!" He exclaimed, getting into as much of a defensive position that he could. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? A heroic boyfriend trying to save his close to dead girlfriend?" Shigaraki mocked, smirking deviously. Shoto gritted his teeth, holding back any snarky comments. Time was running out. (Y/N)'s breath was getting heavier and there was more space between each breath. He didn't have time for any stand-offs. "Hand over the girl, Shoto Todoroki." Shigaraki demanded, holding his arms out. "Not gonna happen. Get out of my way." Shoto responded, his glare as intense as his father's. Shigaraki just laughed and took a step closer, causing Shoto to take a step back. "You can't possibly fight with Elemental in your arms, so stand down!" He taunted, stepping even closer. Shoto just smirked. "You clearly don't remember any of the Sports Festivals. Do you?" Shoto taunted, standing his ground. Shigaraki tilted his head in confusion before he realized. Before he could react, he was encased in ice. "I can use my foot summon ice too, dumbass." He remarked, beginning to sprint off with (Y/N) in his arms.
When he arrived at the hospital, (Y/N) was grabbed from his arms and brought into surgery. Shoto was also taken into the hospital's care, where they patched up his elbow. He waited for three hours before he was aloud into his girlfriend's room. When he walked in, his eyes immediately darted towards the bed. There, he saw his once unharmed girlfriend, wrapped in bandages. The doctor tapped his shoulder, pulling him from his thoughts. "Mr.Todoroki, Ms.(Y/L/N)'s injuries are quite sevre. I'm afraid she's in a coma due to her injuries. It's very unlikely she will wake up." The doctor explained gently. Shoto's eyes widened as he felt his world crumble around him. "I'm also sorry to add, but due to the amount of life support and medication she requires, we will have to pull the plug if she isn't awake within a week." The doctor added. Shoto felt his eyes tear up, but he held it together. "I...understand. Thank you doctor." Shoto mumbled, heading to sit beside (Y/N)'s bed. The doctor left and Shoto grabbed her hand. He pressed his forehead against the edge of her bed. "Please, wake up. I can't live without you..." He whispered, allowing his tears to fall.
Everyday for the next week, Shoto spent his days at the hospital. Some people came and visited (Y/N), including Bakugou, who actually felt guilty for what happened. Shoto reassured him it wasn't his fault, even though he blamed Bakugou slightly. Soon, it was the end of the seven days, and (Y/N) still hadn't woken up. Shoto was sitting beside her bed, clutching her hand and crying silently. "Please, the doctors are coming in an hour to pull the plug, I can't lose you. If I do... I'm joining you. This world isn't worth living in without you..." Shoto whispered, tightening his grasp. He spent the next hour crying, silently praying for a miracle. Suddenly, the door opened. "Mr.Todoroki, it's time. Please say your final goodbye." The doctor declared. Shoto's eyes widened as his heartbeat sped up. "Goodbye my love... I'll see you soon." He whispered, kissing her cold forehead. Shoto silently stood up and trudged towards the door, looking back once before stepping out. After he shut the door, he slid down the wall, placing his head in his hands and crying. He cried and cried, only stopping slightly because he remembered he would soon be with his love. Sooner than anyone would have expected.
At least that's what he thought, until a shout was heard from inside the room. "SHOTOOOOOO!" A familiar voice screamed. Shoto's head perked up and he quickly wiped his tears. He recognized that voice. He knew that voice, he loved that voice. Shoto shot up and threw open the door. The sight he saw brought him to tears. His love was sitting up, a bright smile and tears in her eyes. The doctors were in shock, not expecting her to suddenly awaken. Shoto sprinted to her and hugged her tightly. He sobbed into the crook of her neck, not believing she was awake. (Y/N) slowly lifted her hand and began stroking his red and white hair. "I'm here Shoto... It's okay now."
