Chapter 2: Tryouts
At lunch, Sara found Rose and the both of them sat down next to each other outside the courtyard of the school eating their lunch
Just then, they heard music playing and, both girls turn their attention to who was playing the music. But it was only the glee club trying to get new members to join them this year to go to New York since that's what the tee shirt says on them.
Artie:
Yeah! I'm out that Brooklyn, now I'm down in Tribeca
Right next to Deniro, but I'll be hood forever
I'm the new Sinatra, and since I made it here
I can make it anywhere, yeah they love me everywhere
Finn:
I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicano's
Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald's
Took it to my stash box, 560 State Street
Catch me in the kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries
Puck:
Cruisin' down 8th Street, off-white Lexus
Drivin' so slow, but BK is from Texas
I, I'm out that Bed-Stuy, home of that boy Biggie
Now I live on billboard and I brought my boys with me

The girls were the only cheering for their brothers and the boys pointed to them out in the crowd when they saw them.

After the performance nobody knowledge them or clapped for them. Sara and Rose looked at each other confused, then smirked at each other, and they were the only one that rooted and cheered for them while everyone else didn't and the glee club just smiled at those two for their support.
Rose: so are you still thinking about trying out for glee club
Sara: of course and so should you, you have a great voice
Rose: I'm just not joining stupid glee club anyways
Sara: why not?
Rose: I'm just not Sara. OK let it go!
Sara: but we can go to New York. I thought that you always wanted to see the world
Rose: I do, but I'm sorry, I just can't...
Rose said slamming her locker, starling Sara before storming off, but got bump into someone on her way out.
Rose: ow, sorry my fault wasn't looking where I was going
???: it's okay
They helped each other picked up their stuff. The mystery person handed her the last item and when she did she felt sparks go through her, she looks up at the person, the person look back at her, and they stared at each other for a while.
???: *smiles* I'm Sam
Rose: *smiles back* I'm Rose
Sam: that's a pretty name
Rose: *blush* thanks
Sam: so where's a pretty girl like you off too?
Rose: uh... What was I up too, oh right I was on my way to cheerio tryouts
Sam: cool I'm trying out for the football team
Rose: is this your first year here?
Sam: yeah exactly I'm a transfer, so I'm new to Lima, I'm a sophomore here
Rose: I'm a freshman
Sam: cool so this is your first year here then
Rose: yep but I know the school already because I have 2 older brothers that go here, that are juniors here at this school
Sam: that's cool hopefully I'll be able to see you around
Rose: yeah see ya
Rose thought she did well at cheerio practice because she had help from Quinn Fabray last year when she was going out her brother Finn. But after she got pregnant by Puck baby while she was still dating her brother they kind of grew apart.
She still took Quinn's advice about trying out for the Cheerios and using all the tips she gave her.
(BTW I'm changing the story line a bit in my story so Burt and Carole got married in season 1, so it would make sense why they passed away in my story and Finn and Kurt already brothers taking care of their adopted sister like I already explained before but just in case)
After tryout which was during six periods, she went past the choir but before she left to go, she heard the guys singing in there, She takes a close look to find the guys of glee singing Billionaire with the new guy at school that she bump into and was amaze at his beautiful angelic voice.
Sam:
I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

I'd probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that ain't never had it
Give away a few Mercedes like here lady have this
And last but not least grant somebody their last wish
It's been a couple months since I've single so
You can call me Artie Claus minus the Ho Ho
Get it, hehe, I'd probably visit where Katrina hit
And damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did
Yeah can't forget about me stupid

Sam:

Finn smiled at Sam as did the rest of the guys and Sam said.
Sam: that was awesome
They all gave each other high fives and Rose walks away from the door smiling to herself sliding down the wall happily.
In between class Periods.
Rose walked up to Sara's locker who was ignoring her from their little argument today.
Rose: Sara please talk to me, I'm sorry about talking to you rudely before, it's just that I don't want to join the glee club. I want to do something for myself you know that doesn't involve my brothers in it.
Sara: -sighs- I know I shouldn't have kept pushing it I know how it's a touchy subject for you
Rose: *smiles* thanks for understanding Sara
They both hug it out and Sarah said as they walk to their next class.
Sara: so how was tryout?
Rose: practice went great actually, I didn't fall on my butt once.
Sara: so you think you're going to get in
Rose: with Coach Sue as the coach I doubt it. I heard she a pretty tough cookie. And there's no way I was better than any of those girls out their.
Sara: Rose stop it, you're good at anything you put your mind too. So stop doubting yourself just because you think you're not good enough for the cheerios because you are, and you need to start believing in yourself more often.
Rose: (sighs) I guess your right
Sara: no I am right because you want to know why?
Rose: why?
Sara: because you're my best friend
Sara said putting one arm around her and Rose smiles and lean her head on her shoulder and Sarah said pulling apart from her and taking off the ring.
Sara: here
Rose: what's this?
Sara: it's a friendship ring I bought it for you when I was visiting my grandma this summer, I have one too. And now I want you to wear this just so you could start having confident in yourself if you ever doubt yourself again
Rose: (smiles) Thanks Sara
They hugged and Sara helped Rose put it on her ring finger, and she smiled at it having a piece of something from her friend.
Later that Day, After School.
Rose was hanging out with the fellow glee club member after school waiting for her brothers to finish, so she can go home.
Since she wasn't allowed to walk or stay home by herself, so she had to wait until they were done.
The New Directions including Mr. Schue were looking at the clock waiting for someone to enter the room of the choir room to audition but no one has and it's exactly 4:58 pm. And it's supposed to be over at 5pm.
Rachel: well I guess nobody come, can we leave now?
Everyone else agrees accept for Mr. Schue and Finn.
Mr. Schue: Rachel we said 5 o'clock it's the only 4:58 pm
Finn: and besides my friend Sam said he was coming, he idolizes me.
Kurt says as he was about to walk out with the others.
Kurt: face it Finn you're not the quarterback anymore. Come on Rose, I'm taking you home
Rose: but wait Sara was supposed to audition
Will: Sara, whose Sara?
Rose: Sara, Noah's sister.
Mercedes: wait Puckerman has a sister
Rose: he doesn't want people to know that he has a sister
Finn: that's Puck for you always worried about his rep.
Rose: I don't know why she hasn't shown up, she probably chickened out.
Rachel: I guess she probably doesn't want to hang out with us loser.
Rachel said nervously quickly walking out with Mercedes quickly. All four of them looked suspicious about what Rachel just said.
Back at the Hudson Hummel's house
Rose was on her computer talking to her friend Sara on discord.
Sara: (pops up on screen) hey...
Rose: hey, how come you weren't at the audition?
Sara: uh... couldn't go through with it
Rose: oh come on there's probably something more than that. I know my best friend.
Sara: I couldn't go through with it okay
Rose: come on Sara you always tell me everything
Sara: (sighs) fine. I ran into Noah and told him I was going to try out for glee. He's blew this out of proportions, and we then had a fight about how that would rerun his rep if his little sister join glee club and how people would find out where related. But, now we're not speaking to each other because he's mad at me
Rose: that is bullshit! I would've been mad if my brothers ever acted the way to me like he did. Wait until I smother that Noah Puckerman, so I show him how it feels.
Sara: but what he said hurts Rose. And I thought that f we see he was my brother.
Rose: don't worry about Noah, Sarah he's a pain in the ass. Just worry about you and your music career.
Sara: are you sure you're supposed to be saying that with your brothers in the house?
Rose: Finn doesn't mind, but Kurt does. Kurt doesn't like me saying bad language at all, especially when they are not around. I still cuss when they're are not around and beside they can't hear me anyways they are downstairs and my door are closed.
Sara: okay.
Rose: but you are going to the join Sarah you have a great voice. Don't let Noah get the best to you. He probably just jealous.
Sara: okay...
Rose: great so Thursday afternoon after school you are going to the glee audition again, I'll let my brother know to tell Mr. Schue. Don't let me down okay
Sara: OK I promise
Rose: *smiles* great
Rose heard Kurt calling her down for dinner, and she said to Sarah.
Rose: oh snap, I have to go, time for dinner. I don't want to keep Kurt waiting. Kurt gets angry, if Finn and I are even a minute late for dinner. He doesn't like to be kept waiting
Sara: alright that's fine, I have to go anyways already had dinner. Mom sent me up to do my homework.
Rose: it's weird how they give us homework on the first day of school
Sara: well that's what I get for taking AP class
Rose: sucks to be you
Rose heard Kurt called her down again, and she said to Sarah.
Rose: I'm coming! (groan) got to go Kurt getting mad, see you tomorrow at school.
Sara: bye.
Rose: bye.
Rose quickly said goodbye to Sara, before closing her lap top after logging out. She grabs her phone and runs down the stairs and into the kitchen until she heard her brothers tells her to stop running in the house.
Rose: sorry I'm late, I was on discord with Sara
Kurt: wait a minute, were you on the computer that whole time
Rose: um... nnnnoooo....
Kurt: don't lie to me, Rose. I sent you up there to do homework, not play around on your computer. Did you even get anything done?
Rose: it's the first day of school Kurt I don't have homework. But I do have to ask one of you guys sign papers, because they want parents or guardian to sign it
Kurt: oh, but you know the rules about using the computer young lady. Now I'm going to have to take away some of your computer time during school
Rose: what but that's not fair?! You can't do this to me?! Finn!
Finn: don't Finn me, you heard what Kurt said
Rose: (folds arm grumpy sit down in her seat) this sucks!
Kurt: what suck is your attitude? Which you need to cut it out right now
Rose just rolled her eyes annoyed and Finn and Kurt looked at her shocked. Rose never rolled her eyes directly in front of them. Finn smacks her thigh on her leg since he was sitting by her.
Rose: ow! (rubs and pouts where it hurt) that hurts
Finn: roll your eyes at us again, see what happens
Rose just lean down in her chair pouting folding her arms trying her best not to roll her eyes at his comment.
Kurt: since you like to be disrespectful to us, you could wash the dishes tonight after dinner
Rose: b-but that's not fair! It's Finn night to do the dishes
Kurt: life not fair Rose. You have an attitude that you know well Finn and I don't like. So it needs to end right now, understand me?
Rose: (roll eyes) whatever
Kurt: that's it!
Kurt said getting irritated with her. He got up and started walking over to her. Rose eyes widen, and she starts to scoot away from the table.
Rose: I'm sorry Kurt, please!
Kurt ignores her and grabs her by the arm pull her over his knees. He raised his right hand and smack her bottom 10 times on each bottom hard making the little girl cry out. Finn was watching from his seat assume at this.
When Kurt was done, he pulled everything back in place. He brought her back up and made her sit on his lap and look at him.
Kurt: if you don't cut the attitude right now, young lady, you'll be going to bed without finishing your dinner and their will be no desert and you'll be going to bed with a sore backside. Do you understand me?
Rose: (sniffles and nods quickly) yes sir. I promise to stop with the attitude. I'll be good.
Kurt: good. You know I love you right.
Rose nods and Kurt kissed the top of her forehead. Rose put her arm around his waist and hugs him apologizing over and over again. Before sitting down slowly in her seat wincing a bit in pain.
The Hudson-Hummel family sat down quietly and ate dinner in silent. After dinner, Rose was told to wash the dishes like planned.
Rose did what she was told without any argument, because she does not want to go to bed early with a sore butt. Finn was very impressed with Kurt's discipline.
Finn: wow Kurt, I never knew you've had it in you little brother. You defiantly straighten her out better than I could have.
Kurt: you just have to let her know who the boss around here is. You can't just let her get away with little things or else she may think it will be alright to do it
Finn: you're right
A few minutes later Rose told Kurt she was done with the dishes, Kurt dismisses her and told her to fetch her the papers that he had to sign for her.
Rose: (hands Kurt the papers) Kurt
Kurt: (sitting down in the kitchen table looks over the papers) hmm...
Rose: (sitting beside him) how are you and Finn going to sign the papers? You can't sign them yourselves. What if the school finds out that you are too young to take care of me? You're only 17
Kurt: Finn just turned 18 in August I'll be turning 18 this May. I will just forge dad and Carole signature
Rose: wait you could do that?
Kurt: it's not that hard, but if you ever do that, your behind will be in a lot of trouble understand me
Rose: wait so you could forge people hand writing but I can't, how is that fair?
Kurt: you're the kid, I am your guardian it is fair because Finn, and I am trying to protect you because we don't want to lose you. Do you want to live in the foster care again?
Rose: no... But you and Finn always told me to do the right thing right?
Kurt: y-yes... yes we have. But we still don't want you to do it end of story
Rose: yes sir.
Kurt finishes forging the last of the papers and said to her.
Kurt: put these back into your backpack then go do your chores
Rose: but Kurt, I just did the dishes
Kurt: I don't care, there are some chores that you still haven't done that Finn and I had assigned you months ago, did you do them?
Rose: like what?
Kurt: well let's see shall we. 1) we have told you multiple times to rack the leaves but you been telling us it's too cold outside or its raining outside, and we have let it slide, 2) cleaning your bedroom, I can barely see your floor, anytime I walk into that room it's a mess. You need to be more tidy with your room young lady. One day when you move out of the house you're going to have a roommate who won't like messy rooms.
Rose: but what if I have a roommate that doesn't mind if my room is not clean
Kurt: (raise eyebrow at her)
Rose: (frowns and looks down) sorry, I get your point
Kurt: 3) you have been lazy with taking out the garbage
Rose: I took out the garbage
Kurt: oh really? Then why do I remember Finn having to spank you last week because he asked you to take out the garbage, and of course you just had to give him a stupid remarking saying you did it already
Rose: (bites bottom lip) oh yeah
Kurt: 4) you also got your laundry that you haven't done this week. I want you to start being able to do it on your own. Because one day Finn and I won't be able to do everything. You need to learn how to be independent, because someday we won't always be here for you
Rose: why do you sound like your going to die?
Kurt: not for a very long time kiddo, but I want you to know that
Riley: (frown) okay...
Kurt: if your chores not done by the end of the night. You and I will have a big discussion and you will be going to bed with a sore backside. Do you want that?
Rose: (shakes head no) no sir
Kurt: then I suggest you get started racking since its getting dark out. Oh and Finn already out there working in the garage, I'm paging him to make sure he comes by to check on you to see if your actually working
Rose: yes sir I understand. I'll get my work done by the end of the night
Kurt: good girl now get too it (swats her bottom)
Rose: ow! Meanie! (pouts rubs her bottom and glares at Kurt) Kurt, what the heck?
Kurt: second warning, attitude better cut it out
Rose: (frowns and nods) yes sir
Rose walked into the living room, she wasn't looking forward to doing chores.
She actually was hoping if she could watch some televisions before her bed time. But thanks to her stupid brothers, and their stupid rules and stupid chores, she was going to miss the new season of her favorite show 'The Vampire Diaries'.
(a/n: I forgot that Vampire Diaries comes back in the fall because they film in the summer LOL)
Rose decide she would record it quickly before heading outside. She quickly grabbed the remote turned it on, and changed the network to the CW. It was premiering In a couple of minutes, so she quickly tape it, just as Kurt walked back in and raise his eyebrow at her and yelled her name.
Kurt: Rosalinda Audra Hudson-Hummel!!!
Rose jumped from her spot and quickly turned off the TV.
Rose: (whimpers) I'm so sorry sir it was an accident
Kurt: (put hands on his hip) so you just accidentally turned on the TV
Rose: (bites bottom lip) something like that sir
Kurt: stay there don't move a muscle
Rose nods stood their frozen afraid to move, wondering what Kurt was going to do to her now.
Kurt walked back into the kitchen and went to all the silver wares and picked up the biggest wooden spoon he found.
He smacked it on his hand to make sure it was the right one he wanted to use for her proper punishment. Kurt just smiled knowing this was the right implement.
He goes into the living holding it in his hand. Rose looked at Kurt when he walked in. And he finds him holding a wooden spoon, and she just sobbed right where she was standing.
Kurt: now, now, now, I told you to go out into the yard and racked the leaves and what were you doing
Rose: (sniffles and wipe tears) I was just recording the show I wanted to watch, that's all I did honest
Kurt: that doesn't matter Rose, you could have told me that and I would have let you and understand. But doing it behind my back without me knowing, well that's just dishonest
Rose: what's the big deal its just 1 little recording. Then I was going to head out
Kurt: well you should have asked me first, then you wouldn't be in this messed
Rose: I'm sorry sir it won't happen again. Just, please don't, I promise to behave the rest of the night
Kurt: (sighs) alright. But promise me, you will behave, I don't want to have to use this on you young lady
Rose: yes I promise Kurt
Kurt: alright go
Rose: (smiles) thank you, Kurt *runs over to him and hugs him*
Kurt: *smiles and hugs back* you're welcome baby
They finish hugging and Kurt gave her a warning swat on her backside with the wooden spoon for a reminder.
