"Hey, Urie-kun... Did you miss me?" You asked, looking at him
He didn't look at you. Instead, he opened the small door from the window where you could give things to the prisoner there and put his hand inside, holding it out for you.
You got the idea and extended your hand and in a few seconds, your fingers were intertwined together. You held his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as he finally looked at you.
"I missed you so goddamn much..." he started, looking into your eyes. "I wanted to see you again..."

2 weeks later
"You're here again" you said softly when the door opened and it revealed Urie's tall figure
"Didn't I promise that I'll come everyday?" He asked, a small smile curling the corners of his lips
"You did, you did" you giggled as he sat on the chair in front of you and opened the small door to hold your hand
"How was your day?"
"Pretty boring" you sighed. "I've already finished the book you gave me yesterday"
"Already?" He asked a little surprised as he held your hand tightly
"It's really boring in here, y'know?" You said, looking at him with narrowed eyes
"I can tell" he chuckled softly as you did the same
"Well... it will get interesting when I'll get out of here and I'll be executed" you said with a sad smile on your face as he squeezed your hand, feeling a cold chill going down his spine
"Don't say that" he muttered
"This is our fate, Urie-kun... One day or another, we'll get killed and cross on the other side"
"..."
"It's for the better--"
"It's not!" He exclaimed. "Since I became an investigator, I've been trying to find you, [Y/N]! And I finally did... Do you really think that I'll let you go again?"
"W-well... middle school you did" you whispered, looking away as you blushed hard
"Middle school me was a fucking idiot"
"We can't do anything, Urie-kun. The only thing we can do is to keep seeing each other until the day of my execution will be decided..."
"You're going to be executed tomorrow"
You froze in place at his words, your mouth slightly opened in shock as he looked away, refusing to look into your eyes, but still holding your hand tightly.
"And why didn't you tell me?!" You exclaimed. "We don't have more time left!"
"[Y/N]..."
"Oh my god..."
"[Y/N]--"
"Why did you keep quiet?"
"[Y/N], listen to me!" He exclaimed, making you flinch. "I'm going to get you out of here"
"Are you dense?!" You yelled at him. "How can you say that?! Holy crap... What if someone heard you now? Are cameras here? Oh my god, Urie-kun..."
"[Y/N], calm down" he spoke in a calm voice as you just sighed. "There's not a single camera in here and I'll get you out of here before the execution. I have the rights to bring you in front of the CCG investigators tomorrow since I took full custody of you"
"But then you'll get executed for aiding a ghoul... for trying to protect me..." you whispered as you bit your lower lip to not start crying at this thought
"Oh fuck..." he groaned frustrated. "I didn't think of that"
"You're still an idiot, huh, Urie-kun?" You chuckled softly, your soft laugh making him hold onto his insane idea
"But I wouldn't mind" he said. "To know that you ran away and you're safe... it would be more than enough for me..."
"I don't... want you to die... Since we've found each other again... I want to continue on living... having you by my side..."
"Then..." he started after a moment of silence. "Let's run away from here together"
"W-what...?" You whispered, your eyes widening in shock. "And what are we going to do...?"
"Well... since I'm a quinx--"
"No!" You yelled at him. "Don't even think to live as a ghoul and give the fuck away your humanity like I did! I don't want that!"
"It's the only way, [Y/N]!" He exclaimed. "At least, for a little while... Until we s-settle down a-and... live together..."
Your whole mind went blank at his sudden confession and his slightly blushing face. You can't even remember when was the last time you saw him like this since he forced himself to stop showing emotions.
"W-was that..." you muttered, feeling how your whole face was burning. "A p-proposal?"
"I guess..." he muttered. "I still remember how I asked you to marry me when we grow older"
"I remember too..."
"My feelings are still the same"
"Y-you mean--"
"[Y/N]... When we get out of here... Let's get married... I mean it"
Your heart was already beating 10x faster when he was holding your hand, but today you could swear that your heart was running around the whole Tokyo.
The tears you tried to hold back finally rolled down on your cheeks that were tinted with the most beautiful shade of red as he flashed you a warm smile.
"I-If we're really going to run away from here... I-I do... Of course I'll marry you, Urie-kun"
And then, silence fell in the room as your soft expression turned into a confused one as you cocked a brow at his sudden silence.
"Umm... Urie-kun?"
"I'm still processing, give me a minute" he replied, making you giggle softly. "God, I wish I could hold you tightly in my arms now..."
"You will" you said with a confident smile on your lips. "Tomorrow, you will. I promise"
"I love you"
"I love you too..."
It felt so weird... to know that someone who hates ghouls more than anyone else... fell in love with one... and is even willing to sacrifice his humanity for them...

The next day
CCG headquarters, first ward
"So... today is that ghoul's execution, right?" asked a blue haired female as she was following Urie. "They seem like a nice person..."
"Don't forget who you are, Yonebayashi" he replied in his usual monotone, making Saiko shiver
"You're so cold sometimes, Uri-boy..." she muttered
"I'll go and take the ghoul. You go to where the execution will be held and wait there for me" ordered Urie
"I want to come as well" said Saiko, making Urie stop in his tracks. "I want to talk with them a little before they... they..."
"(Yonebayashi... I'd really like to tell you, but it's already too dangerous... what we're about to do...)" he thought before he spoke up. "Squad leader's orders, Yonebayashi"
And with that being said, he left, going to your cell and the bluenette left as well a few seconds later, feeling a knot tie in her throat.
"Why do I keep having this bad feeling?" She thought as she walked to where the Quinx squad was

You stood on the cold bed from the cell, waiting for Urie as you scratched your hand with your nails constantly because of your anxiety. The more time was passing, the harder you scratched your hand, leaving some red marks on it, until you felt a warm liquid on your fingers.
You sighed and stopped scratching your hand, waiting for it to regenerate when the metal door opened, revealing Urie's tall figure.
You stood like that for a whole minute, staring at each other, until you got up and ran to him to hug him tightly, letting go of the tears that threatened to spill earlier.
"Sorry I took so long" he whispered, hugging you with one hand as he placed the other at the back of your head, bringing you closer to him, feeling your scent
"It's okay... don't apologize..." you whispered back
You couldn't stay like that for much longer, so you two broke the embrace, wishing it would last forever. You had to act fast.
"Wait" he said, taking a small black box from his pocket. "Give me your left hand"
"Why do you need my hand?" You asked confused, tilting your head to side
"So I can do this" he said, placing on your ring finger a silver wedding ring
"Urie-kun, it's so pretty!" You exclaimed, looking at your hand
"These were my parents' wedding rings" he started to explain, taking off his leather glove from his left hand. "We'll change them if you want to--"
"There's no need to do that" you interrupted him, taking the other ring and placing it on his ring finger. "Now let's go--"
But he interrupted you by pressing his surprisingly soft lips on yours as you could feel how your mind went crazy and a million thoughts were running circles like a toy train in your mind.
"Let's get out of here" he said when he pulled away

"Where's Urie-san?" Asked Genie as Saiko and Hige started to get worried
"Saiko-san, you're the last one who saw him" said Hige. "Where could he be?"
"I dunno" replied Saiko. "He went to take the ghoul and told me to come here, that's all..."
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Said a voice who turned out to be Furuta. "As all of you know, we're all gathered here today for the execution of a ghoul. But unfortunately, there's no ghoul in here"
"Wait... What...?" Muttered Mutsuki who approached the Quinx squad
"We have been informed..." continued Furuta. "That the ghoul went missing"
The investigators present there started to talk with each other, looking around to see if there was someone coming with the ghoul that they needed to execute.
"Moreover, we have other shocking news..." continued Furuta as he dramatically sighed. "A certain investigator is missing as well"
"Don't tell me..." whispered Saiko frightened
"I believe that you all heard about the famous and talented S2 and Quinx squad's leader" he continued as everyone looked in shock at Furuta. "That's right, everyone! He was one of us, but he decided to betray the CCG! This man has thrown himself in league with the ghouls and helped the ghoul escape! That's right, ladies and gentlemen! Urie Kuki took the ghouls' side!"
"Uri-boy!" Shouted Saiko in shock as Genie hugged her tightly to make her stop from trying to run away and find him
"N-no..." muttered Mutsuki before he yelled at Furuta. "This is a lie! Urie-kun would never commit such a crime! He hates ghouls with all of his being!"
"That's where you're wrong, investigator Mutsuki" said Furuta. "Perhaps you didn't know your colleague that well, hmm?"
"This... This isn't happening" muttered Mutsuki as he could feel his mind going blank. "No... this isn't real... Urie-kun... First Sensei... and now you..."
"Everyone!" Yelled Furuta. "I want the ghoul to be brought to me dead or alive! And that traitor... I want him to be alive so he can face the consequences!"
And in less than a few minutes, almost the whole CCG was after you and Urie who finally got past some investigators and ran out of the building, running to the roof.
"I'll take the lead from here!" You said, taking Urie by the hand. "I have some friends at :re, they'll help us! They're all nice and pacifist ghouls!"
And you two continued to run, reaching the roof when some loud alarms echoed in the night sky, making you and Urie both freeze.
"Shit!" He cursed out loud. "They noticed!"
"What are we going to do?!"
"[Y/N], run!" He yelled as on the roof, some people from the S2 squad came on the roof with their quinques ready. "I'll catch up with you later!"
"I'm not leaving you here!" You yelled back as you could feel how your ghoul eye came to life
"Urie-san!" Yelled an investigator as on the mentioned male's right arm, a blade like koukaku kagune wrapped almost instantly, looking at the others with his piercing black eye. "Come with us and maybe Furuta-san will spare you! You don't have to die for a monster!"
"Like hell I will" he said in his usual monotone voice
It still felt so unreal... That for you, Urie Kuki himself turned his blade against his people... you just stared in horror at how they attacked him as he tried to buy you some time to run away.
You swallowed the knot in your throat and decided to run to :re and get help from Touka and Kaneki.
But in the exact same moment, when you decided to run, you felt an unbearable pain in your lower back as you could feel how blood was running down from your mouth on your face, hitting the ground.
You looked in horror at the strange kagune that had pierced you before you were slammed on the ground and heard someone sobbing.
"I'm so sorry..." muttered Saiko as she was crying her eyes out. "I'm so sorry... I wish we could have met in another way"
You looked up, not at Saiko, but at Urie who wasn't fighting the investigators anymore. He was literally held down by his three subordinates, Aura, Genie and Higemaru.
"Urie... kun..." you whispered, holding out your hand for him when you felt something, more like someone, had literally turned you with their foot to face the sky just to stomp on your rib cage, making you cough more blood, despite Urie's beggings
"You filthy little rat!" Yelled a green haired male as he continued to do what he started. "Who the fuck do you think you are?! You two thought that you could run away?! It's only your fault! You corrupted Urie-kun!"
"Mutsuki!" You heard Urie yell. "Please, I beg you, for the love of god, please! Have mercy! They're still human!"
"Mercy? Never heard of that" said Mutsuki as he got out his knife like quinque. "Still human? It's not my fault they decided to live their life like that. I see that you forgot who you are. Or was this all a lie?"
"Mutsi..." Saiko muttered between her sobs. "P-please... Listen to h-him. I b-believe t-they still have some h-humanity left in t-them"
"Hah? Does this seem human to you, Saiko?!" Yelled Mutsuki as he pulled you by your hair, raising your head that was supposed to be full of scratches right now... but it wasn't. "Does this seem human to you, Saiko?! Does it?! Is there something human-like in a monster like this?!"
"We're much more monsters than them if we're acting like this, Musti!" Saiko yelled as the mentioned male let go of you, letting you hit your head
"You have two choices, Urie-kun" spoke Mutsuki in a calm voice. "You either kill them and everyone will close an eye and forget all of this ever happened. Or I kill them and you face the consequences"
"I don't..." he muttered. "I don't want this... I just want to live with them... to leave this place..."
"...Ghouls don't deserve to live" said Mutsuki when Genie let go of her squad leader and helped Mutsuki, holding you up
Genie closed her eyes... she was scared as well, but it had to be done...
"Any last words?" asked Mutsuki as you looked at Urie
"Urie-kun..." you started as you had a sad smile on your face and hot tears were running down like rivers on your cheeks. "Live"
The sharp, cold blade of Mutsuki's quinque made contact with your fragile heart, twisting it to make sure he'll kill you for real. The warm, crimson liquid ran down on your clothes as the spark in your eyes was slowly fading away and Urie was looking at the whole scene while his face twisted in horror when he saw that they took your life so fast...
He couldn't even yell or scream or run to you, to take you in his arms and run away from there... But that wasn't going to happen anymore...
The shock was way too big...
And you were already dead...

Later that day
CCG headquarters, first ward
The young squad leader was pushed with brutal force on the stage as he couldn't even look up at who was in front of him or at the many people that looked at him, feeling that the oxygen in that room wasn't enough for him, the silence was too loud and the light was blinding.
"Question" started Furuta, taking Urie by the shoulder, making him fall on the stage on his knees. "Did the ghoul blackmail you?"
"..."
"Kick him"
Another ghoul investigator that was on the stage, an investigator that seemed to be at least as strong as Urie did as told, using his leg to kick him in the abdomen, making him choke on air.
"What was the reason behind all of this?"
"..."
"Kick him"
And it went like that...
Again and again...
Until he started to breathe heavily...
And then came the question that shocked everyone...
"Were there any romantic feelings involved? Did you have romantic feelings for this ghoul?"
"...I do..."
Loud, shocked gasps were heard from the crowd as the Quinx squad looked in horror at their squad leader.
"U-Uri-boy..." muttered Saiko between her uncontrolable sobs
"Dear god..." muttered Genie
"Oh?" Said Furuta with a devil like smirk. "Everyone, did you hear that?! Look what one does for love! He was about to throw away his humanity at the speed of light for a ghoul. How cute is love, isn't it?" He continued as someone from the backstage handed Furuta a long, sharp katana like quinque. "I feel really nice today. Any last words?"
"...See you soon, [Y/N]..."
Without any hesitation, Furuta's quinque made contact with Urie's neck... and in the next moment, he was beheaded in front of everyone, his head falling on the stage as some painful screams and sobs were heard from the crowd...
"What a waste of talent..." muttered Furuta. "This young man had a bright future ahead"
But what any kind of future he had... he wouldn't want a future without you...
Maybe now, you two will be together forever...
