"You straight?" I asked standing over Ashiah as she laid on her side in the hospital bed
"I'm thirsty, I want some water" she said lowly and I sighed
"They said you can't get no water til you take that medicine" I reminded her and she rolled her eyes
"aight" I started rubbing her stomach before a machine started beeping fast
"You having a contraction?" I asked looking at the machine then down at her
"No my contractions three minutes apart" I nodded before my momma came walking through the door with the doctor
"hey" the doctor said smiling as she came over to the bed "how are you feeling?"
"alright"
"Are the contractions still bad?" Ashiah looked at her like she was stupid
"Yeah"
"Okay so we're going to give you your epidural, I need you to sit up"
They gave her the epidural and the doctor left out
"it's back" Ashiah said causing us to look at her, she was having contractions again
"You want me to hold yo' hand?" she nodded and I got up and held her hand until it went away
this what pregnancy come with?
I hope she can go through this seven more times
"Can you get my water?" I nodded and grabbed her water bottle opening it for her. She took it and starting drinking it
A few minutes later we heard a knock on the door and her daddy came walking through the door
Ashiah ain't talk to her daddy since that day she came crying to me
"wassup y'all" he said and we all spoke except for Ashiah. He looked over at her looking a little disappointed
"if you gone be looking at me like that the whole time then you can leave. I don't wanna see that shit"
"Who is you talking to?"
"You"
he ain't say nothing and I chuckled, I don't think he wanted to argue with her anyway
She crazy as hell, he wasn't gone win anyway. Every time I argue with her shit don't end up my way
"Don't come in here with that shit" her momma said and he shrugged and sat down

"Well it's time to start pushing" the doctor said smiling and Ashiah eyes widened
Everybody started laughing except for her and her daddy
he still mad
"I thought I was finna take nap" Ashiah complained and the lady shook her head
"Nope it's time to start pushing, your dilation is up to ten "
I started dancing and they started laughing
"boy can't nobody take you nowhere" my momma said and I stuck my middle finger up "I'll cut that shit off"
they got her settled and she did the first push
"good job, now breathe okay. Take big breaths to make the process easier" she gripped my hand tighter and did as the lady said
"Damn you squeezing my hand tight as fuck" I said causing her to tighten the grip "bae let go a lit' bit"
she ignored me like she normally do
"okay we getting somewhere" her momma said all excited, I guess everybody excited except for her mad ass daddy
"I can push again?" Ashiah asked and the doctors nodded
"You can push whenever you want" one of them said and she started to push again
"I see the head coming out" my momma said jumping around
"ma chill" I said causing her to stop and mug me. It took about two more big pushes and he was out
"why he don't look like me?" I asked being serious and they started laughing "I'm dead ass"
"give him some time and you'll start to see it" the doctor said as she wrapped him up in a cover
"I guess"
"boy quit acting like you sad" Ashiah momma nudge me a little
"so we're going to take him to another room and run some test. We should be back in a few and y'all can do skin to skin"
she left out and it got quiet
"So when I'm gone be able to eat?" Ashiah broke the silence and everybody looked at her
"You gone have to ask the doctor" her momma said shrugging
A few minutes later Ben, 3three, babyjoe, Montana and Kd came walking in the room
"I know we ain't miss all the action" Kd said causing me to scrunch my face up and look at him
"fuck you mean?"
"nothing nigga, you always taking shit the wrong way. Excuse my language and hey y'all" he said and everybody gave him a small hey
"So where my nephew at?" babyjoe asked looking around "hey Shi, you look a lit' hit, but I know you gone get yo' self together"
She started laughing before she stopped and straight faced him
"get out my face Joseph" he backed up and held his hand up
"Don't call me that"
The doctors came back in and rolled the baby bed beside Ashiah
"I got a question" Ashiah sat up quick and looked at the lady
"okay go ahead"
"When can I eat?"
"You can eat now or after you do skin to skin" she answered and Ashiah sat back again
"I'm doing skin to skin first"
"Okay that's fine and you'll just let us know when your ready to eat. Here is your little pumpkin, and congratulations " the doctor said as she placed him in Ashiah arms
"Aww he so cute, he don't look like me" I scrunched my face up at her
he don't look like me either
"he don't look me either so what that mean?"
"shit, I don't know"
"aww we need a picture cause y'all look like a big happy family . Come on Kentrell" Ashiah momma said pushing me over to the bed
"mane, I ain't fit fa' no picture right now" I said and she shrugged. They pulled they phones out and started taking pictures
"Ashiah look more camera ready then you and she just pushed a baby out" my momma said
We took pictures over and over again til it was to their liking. By now I was tired, I did skin to skin with my son after the pictures
Everybody left the hospital except for Ashiah and the baby. I'll be back later on tonight, I had some stuff to get done
