"We should build a fort!" You squealed, clapping your hands together. Mark on the other hand, stared at you blankly.
"A fort? Really?"
You narrowed your eyebrows at him.
"Uh yes what else."
"We could just watch the avengers like any other normal people."
He suggested, pointing to the sofa he was sat on.
"That's boringg."
Mark threw his head back but stood up.
"Alright fine."
"YES! wait I'll get th-"
You were cut off by a phone ringing. Mark ran his hand over the sofa, trying to retrieve his phone.
"Hello?" He answered.
His tone of voice becoming stoic.
"Why? I thought- oh. Okay."
Mark hung up with a sigh and turned to you, who was excited about the fort.
"Listen, I'm really sorry but I've got to go." He grabbed his keys off of the coffee table and scanned the room to see if he was leaving anything behind.
"Oh." Your enthusiasm dropped and was replaced by disappointment.
Though you tried to hide it, Mark still detected it.
"I'm not trying to get out of the fort making, I really do have to go."
"I understand." You cleared your throat and switched off the Tv.
Mark made his way to your front door, you following behind him.
You watched as he pulled his shoes on, tying the laces.
His dark hair fell over his eyes.
"Thank you for letting me spend time here." He said, standing up.
You rocked on your heels, shaking your head.
"No problem, don't worry about it."
You unlocked the front door and opened it for him.
"Have a safe ride." You smiled.
Mark smiled back which warmed your heart. Not thinking properly, he was going to pull you in for a hug but he quickly stopped himself.
"We'll build a fort another time I promise."
"I'll hold you to that."
Flicking the lights on in your room, you immediately grabbed your pjs and headed to the bathroom to take off the minimal makeup you did have on.
You thought over the day as you were removing your mascara.
You scoffed at the memory.
"He really called me Doggo, what an idiot." You smiled as you remembered the grin on his face.
He has a pretty smile.
