At the mere age of fifteen, every able wolf is required to test their power with them being ranked highest to lowest, to see which prestigious school they will be attending for one year.
The purpose of the schools will be to train all qualified wolves.
No matter your status, that being Alpha, Beta or Omega, once you have a quirk, you are required to battle.
There will be no exceptions. Omegas can go up against Alphas and vice versa. The same goes for Betas. When it comes to battle, your status is just a simple word.
This test basically helps the Superior Alphas of various packs to see whether or not the young wolves of their pack, have the ability to fight in combat against powerful rogues who might dare threaten their own. Of course, when they get back from whatever school that they will be attending for one year.
However, that isn't the only perk of this examination.
This examination also helps parents to see the agility, speed, fighting skills and so forth of the young wolves. Superior Alphas would indulge in some form of conversation with other Superior Alphas of different packs, in hopes of arranging a future mating for their children. This is a benefit for their own to produce powerful offspring to carry on the legacy of their packs.
It's a sick way of doing things if you ask me. However, I had no say in it since it was the 'norm' of things. This was just a simple opinion.
Tomorrow I, and every other teenager that was aged fifteen would be in an arena. Sorta like Hunger Games minus the killing and crazy president.
Right now I was practicing. My father Hisashi Midoriya only got the best of the best to go up against me and to train me.
Every day was quite the same consisting of waking up, eating, training, showering and sleeping. Being the owner of a powerful quirk and a power-driven father could be rather tiring.
When I was presented as an Omega, my father wasn't quite pleased. For years he would avoid me and it would be drilled into my head that I was to find a powerful mate so he or she could carry on his pack's legacy. That is; when my pack amalgamates with my future mate's pack.
This carried on until I was the age of nine.
Check-ups after check-ups my father and my mother would take me, until the day they got the news that I wasn't a normal Omega.
Of course, upon hearing this statement, my parents queried further. The doctor explained that I was a rare one and that my quirk wasn't one that typical Omegas had and also, I had never used my quirk since it had never shown for me, so my parents were especially surprised hearing this as well. This led to my father immediately training me after he found out.
Most Omegas and a few Betas had quirks of what society would deem as 'minority.' Simple quirks that would be helpful to care for people or help a higher member of fighting for a pack.
Most pack fighters were made up of many Alphas and a few Betas. It was seldom that one would see an Omega fighting for their pack.
Also, the Superior Alphas of the pack had powerful quirks and only their offspring were to carry on their legacy. So seeing that they had created a child who had no quirk or a quirk of 'minority,' it was required that they found a mate for their child so their strong legacy could carry on.
I was one of those children until my quirk showed.
After finding out how powerful my quirk was at that doctor's visit, my father was ecstatic despite me being an Omega.
As I was a rare one, he knew that it was a ticket for many Superior Alphas to have their powerful offspring arranged to mate me once we both were the age of eighteen. Thus, having the strongest pack in all of Japan once both had amalgamated.
Currently, my father's pack was ranked the second strongest in Japan with Enji Todoroki's being number one. Surprisingly, my father wasn't angry or held any negative feelings towards him and his own. Rather, tomorrow at the arena, when it was my turn to go up against everyone, he was ready to have a conversation with Enji Todoroki in hopes of arranging a mating for me and his youngest son.
I wasn't pleased with his thoughts but this was the way things were to go. The most I could do was avoid the boy once we were eighteen. Then and only then, my parents couldn't do anything if I had rejected his offer. Nevertheless, they could do things to persuade me but there was no way that I would fall for such insolence.
Aside from that, although I was the holder of a powerful quirk, society still saw Omegas mainly as caretakers, making me a part of that circle. Hence, Omegas were mostly the ones to stay at home with the pups when the pack fighters were out training and fighting for their safety.
Well, if society thinks that I would be deemed a housewife with a quirk like mine, I can't wait to burst their bubble.
Omegas were still the ones who had to be by their 'mates' side, especially the Hokuro (Superior Mate) of the Superior Alpha of their pack. Most Superior Mates, since plenty were Omegas with minority quirks, had to make sure that their packs were in order and still take care of their Alpha and offspring if they had any at that point in time.
I found it so funny and I think that whoever out there blessed me with this quirk, knew exactly what they were doing because even at the age of fifteen, I knew what society was like and what was expected but I would be one Omega who would restrain from giving society what they expected from Omegas, from me.
I rather not be seen as meek, submissive and an Omega who tends to their Alpha's every command.
I was ready to be in that arena tomorrow to show my skills and beat every Alpha, Beta, and Omega that would go up against me.
This only drilled me to train harder, destroying every obstacle that was thrown at me as I thought about every Omega who let themselves be controlled by an Alpha. I could feel the anger running through me, along with the sweat dripping down my body as I was training for the past hour and a half and the thought of stopping wasn't on my mind.
"That's it Izuku!" I heard my father shout through my raged filled mind. He was standing at the side as he watched me pass every single test that was thrown at me.
Only if he knew that I wasn't doing this for him but rather for me. I wouldn't deny that I was a stubborn being especially with the way that I was raised or was being raised.
It only made my father happier that he knew that I would be the right one alongside my Alpha to continue to lead his pack after he and my mother had stepped down.
As I was a child from Japan's ranked #2 pack, aside from being powerful, I was rich, pampered, something most Omegas couldn't say that they had the luxury of experiencing.
However, every good thing came with a consequence.
My quirk was kept hidden along with my status. Only my pack members and my parents knew about it for the time being.
If I was an Alpha, it would be different but since I was an Omega, my power was to be kept a secret until the time I had to fight.
Sadly, this was because of my heats and the sick idea of forceful mating. I obviously was expected to wear a collar since it would prevent any wolf from forcefully mating me. As if I would let them anyway.
My father just found this as another way for me to present my quirk and my status tomorrow as a surprise to everyone that would be both watching and battling in the arena and I knew he couldn't wait until tomorrow. I wouldn't deny that I couldn't either. I like it when people underestimate me seeing as they only know me as 'the Beta son of Hisashi and Inko Midoriya,' the son without a quirk.
I don't 'have' a quirk so they won't be expecting me tomorrow and I can't wait to surprise every single human being and/or wolf who will be spectating and participating.
The fewer people to know about my quirk and status until tomorrow could just be an easy way for me to win, even though I wouldn't let my guard down regardless of them knowing.
That aside, I'm sure that tomorrow would be the first day that an Omega would go to the highest prestigious school in all of Japan, that being UA Academy.
Tomorrow would be the day that I, Izuku Midoriya, first and only Omega son of Hisashi and Inko Midoriya of the Ōrufōwan Pack come out of that arena as number one and the most powerful wolf of anyone who had ever fought in that arena.
And I couldn't wait to prove my point.
