*Billie's POV*

It was the day of the gig. We hadn't had a rehearsal this week because of all the drama and tension. I felt bad because I had been a part of the reason we hadn't rehearsed.

But I don't think anyone minded.

I hadn't spoken to Matty since the party. Which was only two days, but it felt like ages. I was giving him the cold shoulder, despite how much I wanted to run to him. I knew it was my fault too, but he started it. I caught him staring at me a couple of times. I met his eyes once and we didn't need to speak. He told me everything. I miss you. I want you back. I'm sorry.

I turned away from him and ignored him for the rest of the night. But I couldn't help but notice some things.

"You'll do great!" Tyler had encouraged me before the show. She kissed George on the cheek quickly before we all ran on to the stage and Tyler got her spot to the side of the stage.

"Hello, we're The 1975." Matty said. The crowd screamed.

"We're going to start now, don't you mind?" He asked. The crowd screamed again.

We started with Head.Cars.Bending.

Then we got onto Girls.

Matty turned his head to face me a little when he sang 'I'll break your heart.'

I rolled my eyes and continued to sing.

And when we got to Fallingfoyou he turned to face me and stared into my eyes so unavoidably that I couldn't help but stare back. Our eyes met and he sang 'You're all I need. According to your heart my place is not deliberate. Feeling of your arms. I don't wanna be your friend I wanna kiss your neck.'

I blushed a little and carried on with the song. The crowd 'awwed'.

When we got to Me, I was nearly in tears. Matty turned to face me quickly, his eyes brimming with tears that refused to fall. He sang: 'I gave you something you can never give back, don't you mind?' And then he turned and made full eye contact with me when he sang 'I love you, don't you mind, don't you mind?'

After the whole show, we went down to the barrier and met a few fans.

"Are you and Matty still together?" A fan shouted. I shook my head.

"No. Kinda sucks. A lot." Matty mumbled to the fan. The fan nodded solemnly and got his autograph.

"What a bitch for dumping him!" One fan whispered. I couldn't see who it was, but it struck a chord with me. Matty must have noticed because his hand brushed mine; I don't think it was a coincidence.

Once we finished with the short meet and greet we packed up backstage. Tyler practically tackled George and they kinda started making out. I laughed but then my averted gaze landed on Matty. His dark solemn eyes bore into mine. Then I remembered what happened at the show.

"What was that?" I asked Matty once we were out of ear shot of the others.

"What?" He asked innocently.

"Why did you start singing to me?" I asked.

"Because I love you. And I need you back." He said. I still got the eruption of butterflies in my stomach.

"Yeah well I wish I could say the same." I said coldly.

Lies, I thought. You're lying. You love him.

My heart broke when I saw the light in his eyes die. He looked down.

"Matty - I -" I started, but Matty wouldn't have it.

"No. I think I better go." He said, walking off and bringing his hand to his face.

*Matty's POV*

"Well I wish I could say the same." She said quietly. I knew she didn't really mean it, but, it fucking tore me apart.

I looked down. I blinked back the tears stinging the back of my eyes.

She exhaled.

"Matty - I-" she started. I cut her off.

"No. I think I better go." I said, my voice cracking in the last syllable. I turned on my heel quickly and walked off, feeling a single tear fall. I brought my hand up to my face to brush it away.

I walked swiftly into the bathrooms.

George saw I was upset. "Matty-" he started, but I quickly locked myself in the bathroom. I slid down the back if the door until I sat down, knees up to my chest.

"Matt." George called.

"Go away George." I said harshly.

"I'm not going. You're upset." He said. I sighed, stood up and unlocked the door. I say back down against the door.

"What's up?" He asked, sitting on the sinks.

"Fucking Billie." I said.

"What happened?"

"Well, first, I cheated on her, then she cheated on me, then she broke up with me, then she she refused to speak to me for two days, and then she tells me she doesn't love me anymore." I said. George sighed.

"What do I do?" I asked.

"Well, you get her back." He said simply.

"'S not that sinple." I mumbled.

"Yes it is. Give her a bit of time to miss you, then go to her apartment and get her back." He said.

I laughed softly. I just wanted her back.

"How am I supposed to face her bow though? We both stuffed up. Are we going to end like this, permanently?" I asked him. George was actually really good to talk to, he listened.

"It won't end like this. You two are too good for each other, you love each other too much." He said. I nodded. He was right.

I stood up again, brushing myself off.

"I'm going back out." I said. George nodded and followed me out.

I met Billie's gaze and looked away, feeling myself blush. Stop it, I thought. You're a grown man. Don't blush like a friggin fifteen year old girl.

I looked back up at her. She motioned for me to come closer.

"What?" I asked, my voice coming out harsher than I intended.

"Umm - I-I just wanted to say I feel like crap about b-before -" I cut her off by nodding. She smiled a tiny flicker of a nervous smile, making me melt. I needed her.

"I know, don't worry about it. I'm going home, tell the others for me?" I asked quickly, speed walking out of the venue and bolting to my car, speeding back home before I screamed.

I just wanted her back.

I'm so sad about this. I love them. :( xx
