"This is... Dr. [L/N] [F/N]... to be more exact, Senior Dr... and this is my... this is another day on the extremely rare case of Shirazu Haru..."
Nothing...
Nothing seemed to work on Haru...
Pills, different kinds of medicine... nothing. You even had the idea to cut off that thing a few times, but you couldn't torture her like that.
"I promised him..." you thought as you hit your head multiple times on your desk. "I fucking promised him that she'll be fine! That he'll get to see her smile again!"
You sighed frustrated, putting your phone aside as you took your head in your hands, pulling your hair in frustration before you let some warm tears roll down on your face.

"F-fuck it..." you cursed under your breath. "I can't do it... I-I... I can't fucking do it..."
You tried to calm down before you got up and went to see Haru for the last time for today as another sigh fell down on your lips.
"Who is there?" Someone asked as you opened the door
"It's me, Dr... [L/N]..." you muttered
You widened your eyes in shock as you saw Haru's left eye opened and after you heard her talk without struggling, making you tear up again.
"B-but...you weren't like this in the morning!" You exclaimed as you sat on the chair next to her bed. What made you cry even more was the fact that the muscle that grew on her face started to disappear little by little, almost revealing her right eye
"It's all thanks to you, [L/N]-san" Haru said, trying to flash a warm smile as she took your hand in hers
"Y-you don't have to force yourself--"
"I am not" she said, her smile was so warm that you literally started to cry rivers
"Thank god... it's working... the treatment... it's working" you thought as you wiped your tears

"[L/N]-san!" A loud voice echoed in the hallways of the hospital. "[L/N]-san!!"
"Right here, who is it--" you started to say as you opened the door when you were pulled into a tight hug, almost leaving you out of breath. "Sh-Shirazu-kun?!" You exclaimed as your face was a dark shade of crimson
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" He said as he started to cry on your shoulder. "Thank you, [L/N]-san"
"It's just my job, Shirazu-kun" you said, hugging him back
"Just your job? Goddammit, woman, you're a goddess on this planet. A savior" said Shirazu as he pulled away
"I'm glad that I helped" you smiled brightly at him
"Let me take you out, sometime" he said, but you shook your head and declined politely
"My job is not done, yet. Until she doesn't get out of that damn bed on her own, it won't be done"
"Aye, aye, captain" he winked at you as you giggled

Three months later
Night time
Time: around 10 pm
And another three months went by and Haru was already and looked better, thanks to all of your hard work and her brother's support.
Haru's face was again bright and she could smile again which made her brother cry rivers and to hug you tightly when she smiled for the first time in forever.
"This is between us, but..." started Haru as you wrote in her medical report. "I'm kind of upset... that Ginshi didn't come to see us today..."
"Us? He's coming here to see you, y'know?" You chuckled softly as you finished writing
"No, I mean us" she answered, her reply making you blush a little. "When you're not around, he's like: [L/N]-san this, [L/N]-san that"
"H-he's just being nice..." you muttered as she giggled at you. "He's just being grateful that I helped you"
"Sure, sure~" Haru cooed as she gave you a pervy face
"Haru-chan, please..."
"But thank you... for everything, [L/N]-san"
"It's just my job, Haru-chan"
"You're so nice... Did you know that my brother likes nice girls?"
"O-oh, does he?" You looked away, blushing in embarrassment
"Yep!" She exclaimed. "You're really cute, [L/N]-san. Hey, did you know that my brother likes cute girls?"
"Is she really hitting on me for her brother?" You thought as you sighed
"Look, I appreciate the thought, but--"

It happened too fast...
A second ago you were talking to Haru...
And in the next moment you are running with her down the halls, running for your lives as many other people are dying right in front of you.
You were attacked by ghouls... To be more exact... by the Aogiri tree...

"Haru..." you whispered, holding her close to your chest as you two hid under the desk from your office. Not the best place to hide, but still, it was something. "I want you to keep calm, alright? I want you to keep silent until help comes. Everything will be fine, I promise"
Adrenaline was pumping in your whole body as you heard screams and sounds of stabbed flesh echoing in your ears as poor Haru started to cry, making you hold her tightly.
"It's going to be fine, I promise" you whispered again when the door from your office literally flew next to you, crumbling to pieces as you stared at it in horror.
"Come on, get out" said a voice that sounded like a male's. "You're still going to die, so..."
You took a deep breath and smiled brightly to Haru before you got up and faced the ghoul.
You decided to sacrifice your life for hers...
"I see you want to die faster, huh?" the ghoul chuckled as you took a piece of broken glass in your hand
"One more step and I'll fucking slit your throat" you said in a threatening tone
"Just shut up and die already" the ghoul scoffed as something like a neon green tail wrapped around his leg
What the hell were you thinking? You left the poor girl on her own, she could get killed any second by now or you could get killed.
"But it's better" you thought. "It's better if I sacrifice my life for hers. She fought with that disease for too long... She needs to live... I... I don't at all... That's right... I don't have a family... So who would cry after me if I die?"
You held the piece of glass tightly in your hand, blood dripping from the cut as your scent filled the ghoul's nasal cavity with a sweet, sweet smell.
"What... what is this?" The ghoul muttered. "Such scent... I haven't felt such scent in my entire life"
"It's going to be the first and last time you do" you said in a lower voice
You cut your hand just to distract the ghoul so that you could kick him in the nuts and as he bent down, you knocked him in the throat with your elbows and knee and as the last touch, you kicked him in the head, sending him flying in the nearest wall.
"[L-L/N]-san" muttered Haru in shock from behind the desk as she blinked fast a few times
"There's no time for this! Let's go, Haru!" You exclaimed as you grabbed her by the hand and ran away with her from your office
As you two ran, you saw from the corner of your eyes ghoul investigators and that made you exhale loudly in relief, especially when they recognized you and told you to run at the entrance of the building where ghoul investigators, patients and doctors are waiting.
"Dr. [L/N]!" Called a familiar male's voice. You recognized that voice. It was...
"Urie-kun?" You muttered
"Sir, I'll get them to the others" said Urie to Sasaki
"Please do, Urie-kun" said Sasaki as Mutsuki came running to the four of you
"Sensei, we need to go this way! Saiko and some members of the S2 squad are struggling with some ghouls!" Said Mutsuki
"This way, [L/N]-san" said Urie as the three of you started to walk away
"Shit!" You exclaimed loudly. "I forgot something important in my office"
"I'll go and take it--" said Urie
"No" you interrupted him. "You don't know where it is, so I'll go. You go and take Haru-chan to safety"
"[L/N]-san..." Haru muttered, a worried look plastered on her face
"I'll be fine, okay?" You said, flashing her a warm smile. "See you on the other side"
And in a split second, Haru and Urie disappeared and it didn't take too long for Sasaki and Mutsuki to vanish as well.
You ran back to your office to take it. What was it? Your phone. Your precious phone where all of your recordings about Haru's disease, evolution and cure were. You couldn't just let it get destroyed. That was top information and if you lost it, you could swear that you would lose your shit.
You ran into your office and started to search into your desk's drawers when something flew a few inches apart from your head, breaking the window from behind you as you froze in place.
It was that ghoul's that you just knocked out earlier kagune that was about to take your head.
"Shit!" You mentally cursed as the ghoul slowly got up. "I forgot about this guy!"
"I could have said that you're pretty smart for a human" he said as he took back his kagune. "But coming back here as you forgot that I'm still here... That's not smart at all. Actually, you're pretty dumb"
"Wow, thanks for telling me this, I didn't know" you said sarcastically as you shoved your phone into your lab coat's pocket. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go"
You were confident in yourself and believed that if this guy will do something to you, there was the Quinx squad that will kill him in a matter of seconds.
But you were wrong...
You started to walk away from your desk and in the next second you were already seeing the world upside down as your phone fell from your pocket.
"Oh hell nah!" You mentally cursed again as the ghoul held you by your ankle tightly, making you hiss in pain
"It was nice meeting you, y'know?" The ghoul said as you rolled your eyes. "You're really interesting--"
"I know, isn't she?" Interrupted a familiar male's voice
In the next moment, you heard an explosion behind you and the ghoul's kagune vanished, freeing you of his hold, but making you fall on the ground face first.
"Shit..." you cursed out loud as you tried to get up, but your ankle hurt so much, that you fell back on the ground
"[L/N]-san, are you alright?!" The voice, which turned out to be the one and only Shirazu Ginshi, asked
"Shirazu-kun?" You muttered as you looked at him and saw that on his back was something like a muscle and his right eye was black and red just like a ghoul's. "I see you used your kagune..."
"Yeah, I took in your words from that day and you were right. I should use it more often. I feel like I already mastered it, y'know?" He said with a chuckle as you took your phone back. "But this is not what matters now. C'mon, let's go"
And with that being said, he picked you up from the floor the bridal style as your face was a dark shade of crimson.
"Wh-wh-wh-what a-are you doing?!" You managed to yell at him as he ran out of the office with you
"You hurt your leg, didn't you?" He asked
"I just sprained my ankle, it's not a big deal! I can walk by myself, y'know?!" You exclaimed
"I jUsT sPrAiNeD mY aNkLe, It'S nOt A bIg DeAl, I cAn WaLk By MySeLf, Y'kNow?" He said in a mocking tone as you puffed your cheeks
"Just let me go, I can walk just fine! Besides, I'm heavy, so let me go--"
He clicked his tongue in annoyance and in the next second, you felt a pair of soft and warm lips on top of yours when he stopped running just to do this.
"Maybe that'll shut you up" he said as a smug smirk was plastered on his face
"O-okay..." you muttered as your face looked like you just set it on fire
You two continued to run until you made it to the exit of the building where the others were waiting.
"Ginshi!" Haru called her brother as she ran to the two of you. "Are you two alright?! What happened?!"
"[L/N]-san sprained her ankle, so I want her to not do anything and just sit down" explained Shirazu. "If someone here is willing to help her, please do, I beg you!"
Shirazu carefully put you down as Haru helped you put an arm around her neck for support as you were still processing what just happened earlier, when...
"Shirazu-kun!" You yelled as you let go of Haru before he ran back in the building
"[L/N]-san?" He muttered as he approached you and Haru. "What's the matter--"
But it was your turn to shut him up. You used your good leg to kind of run to him when you grabbed him by the collar of his brown coat and pressed your lips on his own as he widened his eyes in shock.
"You better come back" you whispered to him when you pulled away
"Hey, I still have to take you out on that date" he chuckled softly
"Stay safe and I'll kiss you again when you come back"
"And what if I get hurt?"
"Then, I guess I'll have to kiss you until the pain goes away"
"Oh god, my lips are hurting now, I think I need a doctor"
"Way to go, Shirazu-kun"
"Call me Ginshi. And I'll call you [Y/N]"
"I'm fine with it. Now go, duty is calling, Ginshi"
He kissed you fast on your forehead before he ran back into the building. From behind you, you heard some high pitched squeals as you froze in place.
"Shit" you cursed for the umpteenth time today
"I KNEW IT!" Haru shouted all of a sudden as you felt your face was literally burning. "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! I knew that he liked you and vice versa!"
"I think I'm having a fever" you thought as you covered your face with your hands
I guess I need a doctor...

A/N: Holy shit? I'm actually happy with how this one turned out? Am I supposed to feel this way?
