Day #39
Veronica's POV
Alot has happend this past month. Archie and I picked up my engagement ring, my parents came to visit for the weekend, and I started looking at wedding decor online.
Archie and I have been getting along pretty well lately, he is letting me do most of the wedding planning because he says he "knows nothing about weddings"
It was Tuesday morning and I just woke up. I have been craving fast food for a while, so I walked over to denny's and got myself some breakfast.
I got back and ran into Archie out front
"Hey, where have you been?" He asked
"Dennys, I brought you back something to go"
I handed him the bag and he opened it
"Thanks Ronnie" he smiled
"No problem Archiekins"
We went inside and Fred was watching the news
I looked at the TV and froze
"Breaking: Mass shooting in Riverdale this morning, 7 people dead and over 30 hospitalized"
Archie looked over at me, then at the TV
"Ronnie-" he said
I pulled out my phone and called my parents
The phone immediately answered
"Mija?" I heard on the other line. It was my mom
"Are you and dad okay? What about Betty and Cheryl-"
"We're okay Mija, so are they. I called this morning to make sure they're okay"
I felt a bit of relief, but I still was terrified
"do you know who died?"
"We aren't sure, but they do know who the shooter was"
"who was it?"
"Malachi, he is the leader of the ghoulies"
Neither of us talked for a minute
"Veronica, I have to go to a town hall meeting. Don't worry about us, the police have it all under control"
"Alright mom, stay safe. I love you" I said
"I love you too" then she hung up the phone
"Everything okay Ronnie?" Archie asked, sounding very concerned
I didn't say anything, I just hugged him
I headed into my room and took a shower
Then I heard a knock on the door
V-"Come in"
A-"its just me"
V-"Hi"
A-"Hi"
A-"I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight.. you can choose where we eat"
V- I"'d love to Archekins"
"Alright then" he said, smiling
"I'll pick you up at eight" he joked
"Alright loverboy" I winked
I dried my hair and curled it, then I did my makeup and put on my favorite dress.
I put on the bracelet Archie gave me, and my iconic matching pearl necklace
It was five o'clock so I still had a few hours until we went to dinner so I just watched Keeping up with the Kardashians
I checked the time and it was quarter after seven, so I did a quick touch- up on my makeup and headed downstairs
I went outside and there was the limo that takes us everywhere. I got in and Archie was already there
"Wow Ronnie, you look stunning"
"Thank you, you look very handsome yourself"
He smiled and we started driving
We arrived at this really nice restuarant downtown
It was pretty busy so Archie and I had to wait for a seat. About a half an hour later we finally got a table
A-"Veronica, I've been meaning to talk to you about us."
V-"Archie.."
A-"Is what you feel for me real?"
V-"Of course Archie, I really do care about you."
A-"Good because"
There was a pause
V-"Because what Archie"
There was another pause
A-"because I love you"
