Greetings Pubbers,

FEATURED POEM

The Fly
By William Blake

Little fly,
Thy summer's play
My thoughtless hand
Has brushed away.

Am not I
A fly like thee?
Or art not thou
A man like me?

For I dance
And drink and sing,
Till some blind hand
Shall brush my wing.

If thought is life
And strength and breath,
And the want
Of thought is death,

Then am I
A happy fly,
If I live,
Or if I die.

Busted Gulch Update – Lyttlejoe's Busted Gulch Volume 11 –

Newcomer, Bella, and Denver's son Brett, had a very interesting "first date".  It seems the two are very taken with one another. A bedraggled Raven found his way to the bar and had a few words with Cole Boone about Devil's Mountain.  Petra asks Buck to keep an eye on Conan, hoping the person that shot her father would be found soon.  Brody sent a wire to Billy, letting him know that 3Gun needed him back in BG to help find out who shot Denver.  He also let Billy know that Rue is headed to county.  It seems Lou, Bruce, and Pearce seem to have been successful in finding enough witnesses to get Lou out of trouble with the law.  However, the same can not be said for Pearce, but Lou doesn't want to give up on him yet.  Pearce seems to have given into his fate and gives Lou a kiss, just as Bruce walks in.  In a moment of anger Bruce snatched up Pearce ready to show him is fist, but a shot rang out, Lou was shot.  Another shot rang and Pearce was shot as well, the shots came in through the window.  When Billy found them, Lou was dead in Bruce's arms.  Margarita took her vows in a lovely ceremony preformed by Bishop DoRito, she was confirmed as Sister Mary Grace.

If you want to find out what's next, head on over to The Storytellers Saloon and check out Lyttlejoe's Busted Gulch Volume 11!!  Don't forget to add it to your reading list, new chapters are posted daily!

JULY CONTEST – This month we've put together some index cards as our prompts. They tell a very generic story for you to elaborate on.  We haven't even named the characters. The four cards tell a complete story but feel free to use them as you wish (i.e. A whole story (of four parts), four individual stories or even a single week's entry) it's up to you.

Week four is open for submissions!! Here is the prompt, you have 250 words to tell us your story!

OLD/NEW/CONTINUING WORKS

NEW SITE : Bill Talks

I am always looking for new and unique ways to bring the writers and readers of Wattpad together and become part of a family. My latest attempt is a site called Bill Talks. (Yes I kinda stole the idea from Ted Talks)

What I am offering is an opportunity for all to become involved in a dialogue on different subjects. Each month or so, I will take on a subject and with the help of you, the readers, we will fill a collection with our own unique takes on the subject and who knows, we may even be educated on different customs and takes on that subject.

For the inaugural subject I have chosen the most overworked word in the English language (and I am sure every language). No it is not the word ... 'THE' ...

It is the word LOVE.

Drop by @Bill-Talks and take a look. Be a part of this new experience.

New and ongoing works

Brief Introspection

I have taken this oldie but goodie off the top shelf in my library, dusted it off, chased away the spiders and started posting in it again. It is a collection of short perspective of the world, as I see it. Pop by and take a look at this collection. Who knows. You might actually get inspired.

If you would like to share any of your old/new/continuing works on your personal profile, please send us  a private message and we will include it here.

PERSONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to share with you, that I had the honor of being asked to do an interview about poetry for the Wattpad group, @earnestycommunity . It is a video interview and is available to watch on YouTube.  Poetry is one if my greatest passions and being afforded the opportunity to speak about it was thrilling.  Encouraging others in their writing journey brings me great joy and I would be honored for you to give it a watch and pass it on to anyone who might need a few words of encouragement or inspiration.

Cheers,
Myna

If you would like to share any personal announcements, birthday, anniversary, Wattpad anniversary, new books published or anything else, please do not hesitate to send us a Private Message and we will get it in here.

WORLD POETS

China

A poem for thought: Daybreak
By Liu Xiaobo

for Xia

over the tall ashen wall, between
the sound of vegetables being chopped
daybreak's bound, severed,
dissipated by a paralysis of spirit

what is the difference
between the light and the darkness
that seems to surface through my eyes'
apertures, from my seat of rust
I can't tell if it's the glint of chains
in the cell, or the god of nature
behind the wall
daily dissidence
makes the arrogant
sun stunned to no end

daybreak a vast emptiness
you in a far place
with nights of love stored away

– by Liu Xiaobo (translated by Jeffrey Yang)
