"Hey Y/n do you want to play the Xbox with me?" My best friend, Cameron asks.
"Sure." I reply. "What are we gonna play?"
"I have sonic." He says while smirking at me because he knows I love sonic.
"Yes! Let's play!" I yell.
"Can I play too?" I hear a small voice ask. I look over to see Maya, Cameron's sister. Cameron starts to answer but gets cut off:
"Maya! Korynn is here!" Cameron's mom yells.
"Nevermind." Maya says before running off to play with her friend.
I smile a little. Maya is adorable.
Cameron comes and sits unusually close to me. So close that our legs touch. So close that I can hear his heart beating.
"You ok?" I ask while touching his arm.
For some reason he blushes.
He quickly responds. "I'm fine."
He hands me a controller and our hands touch. This time, the both of us blush and look away.
"Well...let's play the game yeah?" Cameron says with a red face.
"Yeah..." I say awkwardly.
We play the game in silence. You can literally cut through the tension in this room with a knife.
"Cameron." I say. He looks at me.
"Whats up?"
"What's happening between us?" I ask.
He gives me a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"Well, every day this week that I've been over here, things have been so awkward between us." I say.
"What? How?" He asks.
I raise my eyebrow at him and he copies me. I touch his cheek and he blushes.
I then yell: "See look! You're blushing!"
"N-no I'm not." He stutters.
"And you're stuttering. What's wrong?" I ask.
He changes the subject. "Nothing. Hey wanna dance?"
I sigh. "Sure why not."
He runs into his room to get his laptop. He comes back downstairs and sets the laptop down in front of us. I look at his wallpaper to see a picture of me and him from 4 years ago at our first play date.
"Awwww you looked so adorable in that picture!"
He blushes and opens up youtube. "Song suggestions?"
"Play 'We are young' by Fun." I say.
He raises an eyebrow. "I have never even heard of that."
"Play it. I think you'll like it." I say.

"Cameron!" I whine.
He shushes me. "Shhh we like this song."
I sit and wait for the song to start.
"Hey! Where's the drums?" I hear from the laptop. I look at Cameron and start smiling.
Cameron and I get up and start dancing to the beat together. And then he starts to sing to me.

For the rest of the song, Cameron and I dance together. When it's finished, we fall on the floor and lay there laughing. That is until the house phone rings and Cameron goes to answer it. He puts it on speaker and doesn't realize I'm listening.
"Hello?" Cameron says.
"What's up bro. It's Karan." Karan says while on the phone with Cameron.
"Oh what's up bro? You're on speaker by the way so be careful." Cameron says while looking back at me.
"I was just calling to ask you if you told Y/n that you like her yet." Karan says.
Cameron looks back to see me with a shocked face.
"Oh my god...she's here...right now...and you're on speaker!" Cameron panics.
"Ohhhh....My bad. So I'm gonna go now...Bye!" Karan hangs up quickly.
Cameron takes a deep breath and walks over to me. "Hey..."
"Hey." I reply with a small smile.
We stare at each other for a while.
"Is that why there was so much tension between us? Because you liked me and didn't know how to tell me?" I ask.
"Yeah..." he says slowly.
"Well guess what?" I say.
"You don't like me back do you?" He asks with a sad expression.
"Actually, I do like you."
His expression immediately lightens up. "Really?"
"Yeah, I've liked you since 3rd grade. And now we're in 6th..." I say.
"Whatttt? That's crazy! I started liking you around the same time." He exclaims.
I laugh. "So what now?"
"Well I guess now that makes you my girlfriend." He says. "If you want to be my girlfriend...."
"Really?" I ask.
"Yeah!" He says.
"Yay! Then I guess I'm your girlfriend." I say cheerfully.
We laugh with each other.
"I have a question." He says.
"What is it?" I ask.
Then he asked me a question that shocked me. "Can I like...kiss you?"
I laugh nervously. "I haven't kissed anyone."
"Me either. So we'll be each other's first kiss." He says.
"Well..." I hesitated. "Ok."
We leaned in a kissed for about 5 seconds before pulling away.
"Wow." We say at the same time. Cameron goes to the other side of the couch and looks at me. He had the biggest smile on his face.
"I never thought in a million years, you'd be my girlfriend. I mean, your so beautiful. And look at my ugly face." He says.
"Ugly?? You're not ugly. Like at all." I say.
He blushes a little bit.
"Come here." I say to him. He sits next to me and looks at me.
I take out my phone and take a picture of the two of us.
I find the sticker that shows the date and i choose that. Along with the "💘😌" emojis. I save the picture and give him a hug. We sit on the couch together and watch tv until Ms. Libby tells me that my mom is here to pick me up.
I hug Cameron and kiss him on the cheek before saying bye to everyone and getting in the car with my mom.

Cameron laughs loudly. "I definitely remember that day. We were so awkward."
"We honestly were. We didn't even know what to do in a relationship until we turned 15." I say while laughing. "I'm glad we stayed together."
"So I am." He says. "I love you."
