Alex sat in the belchers replaying the scene she’d seen earlier. She didn’t know how to feel or what she was even feeling. At times she was pissed, then she felt sad, then she felt rage, then she was happy, then she wanted to cry, then she felt relieved. But most of all, she just wanted to smash Ashley’s head against a wall, or hit her 8465085 times over the head with a sledge hammer. Earlier that day she was on her way to the bathroom and she saw it all...

“God, Dylan. You’re just really making this harder than it has to be.” Ashley whined glancing around to see if anyone was paying attention to her.

“I just don’t get why you’re doing this. I though, I tho-” Dylan stopped because he didn’t even know what he thought. Ever since Alex had told him that Ashley was using him he knew. He just knew in the pit of his stomach that she was telling the trust but he just didn’t want to believe it. He didn’t want to believe that the girl he was after for almost two years was using him just so she could get back with her ex. He didn’t want to believe it. And he even stopped believing it for a while because Ashley had convinced him that she was not that kind of girl and they had such a good time at the Ed Sheeran concert.

“You bitch. I took those tickets from her. She loved him, you know.” Dylan said as he ran his hands through his hair. He wasn’t even upset about the breakup; he was expecting that to come at some point. What shook him to his core was the fact that Alex was actually right and he’d chosen some random chick (bitch or not, Ashley was still hot as balls) over the girl he knew for twelve years.

“Actually Dylan; you were the one who took the tickets from her. But, hey, it wasn’t that bad. I think I actually helped you.”

“What?”

“I mean, the two of you were really pathetic together. Do you know what people used to say about you guys? I mean: you should be thanking me. I saved you.”

“Fuck you.” Dylan bit out. This was the first time he legitly wanted to hit someone of the opposite sex. Ashley was a true bitch but he was too blinded by... he won’t even say love because he didn’t love Ashley. He was blinded by her beauty and the attention she gave him to see who she really was.

“I made this the best few months of your life Dylan. You’re welcome.”

“She’s my best friend Ashley. You can't just do that to a person.”

“She was your best friend. She hasn’t talked to you in ages. Well, that was also your fault but who’s counting right?”

“I can’t believe I even liked you.” Dylan said through his teeth. He can't believe he chose her Alex. The pathetic thing was that now, not only had he lost his girlfriend, he he’d also lost his best friend.

“I can't believe I dragged this out so long. Look, I’d love to stay and chat but I have stuff to do.”

“So... was ruining two lives worth it Ashley? Is Scott going to take you back?” Dylan called as she walked away. Ashley stopped in her tracks and turned around to walk back to Dylan; her heels making an annoying sound as they hit the cheap tile of the school floor.

“Dylan, babe, they always come back. I'm Ashley Greene. They always come back.”

Dylan smirked and rose an eyebrow at her. “Well babe, I’ve got some news for you.” He closed the distance between her. She was not going to get the last say and if he could, he was going to make her crumble.

“Is that so?” She asked looking up at him and batting her eyelashes. If she’d done that one month earlier, hell, if she’d done it this morning he would’ve melted but things could change in the blink of an eye.

Dylan nodded and wet his lips. He crossed is arms over his chest and straightened his back. “Since you claimed you ‘put me on the map’ I must have you know; I’ve been hanging out with your little friend quite a lot.” Dylan’s soul rejoiced when he was her stiffen at the mention of her ex-boyfriend.

“Which friend?” She asked after a few second of trying to regain her composure but Dylan knew that was her weak spot and he was going to hit in until she cracked and he didn’t even care because she had taken something from him he could never get back.

“Oh, you know... the same guy who you tried to get back by using me. I think his name was Scott? I can't exactly remember. But he told me the funniest thing when I told him that I was dating you.”

“You’re lying.” Of course he was but she didn’t need to know that.

“Oh, I have no reason to lie sweetie. So, where was I? Ah, yes. So I told him I was dating you and he told me that I should bite my leg out of that trap while I had a chance. He told me were a bitch but I vouched for you. Oh God! Remember when I was that stupid Ashley? I finally see how people say you’re the antichrist.”

“Scott won’t say that about me. He love me.”

“Oh contraire; he dating someone really smoking hot chick from that private school. So guess who looks like a stupid bitch now? Spoiler alert; the answer is you.” Dylan smirked backing away from her. He turned and started down the hall before he stopped and turned to walk back to her. She still hadn’t moved from her spot and Dylan took pleasure in knowing he was the one to do that to her. “I forgot to mention one thing; ugh! What was it? Oh, right; fuck you.”

Alex smirked when she saw how Dylan completely switched it around on Ashley. Before she knew what was happening he was standing in front of her with a confused look on her face. “How much of that did you hear?” He asked glancing back to see Ashley still standing in the hall. She had her phone pressed to her ear and she did not look happy.

“I caught enough. Well done O’Brien.” Alex smiled lightly punching him in the arm. She was happy for him and quite frankly, she was done being upset with him. It honestly took way too much energy and had convinced herself that once it wasn’t Channing Tatum or Luke Hemmings, no one was worth that much energy from her.

“look I'm re-”

“Don’t care anymore Dylan; really. I can't give two shits about you and what you did to me. When I say I'm over it; I really am.” And for the first time, she really was. At the end of teh school year she was leaving and she was never going to have to see half of these people anymore so she was already beginning to let go so leaving would be easier.

“Fair enough. I was a dick, I’ll admit to that much.”

“Awh, I think ‘dick’ is too nice of a word but hey; I'm not here to start a fight. Look, as much as I’d love to stay and chat; I have to pee.” Alex said tapping Dylan on his chest and pushing past him.

“Wait!” He called turning around to jog behind her. She turned around and looked at him. For a while she didn’t say anything and she just stood there staring at him. She rose an eyebrow and shrugged in annoyance; begging him to continue. He awkwardly cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck. “Um, I was just wondering how you were doing?”

“Pretty awesome. You? Well, beside the fact that you were just dumped. I mean I’d say ‘I told you so’ but that would be a really bitch move and I'm anything but a bitch so I won’t even tell you I told you so.”

Dylan chuckled and shook his head. She had not changed one bit; not that he expected her to but she was pissed at him and he still wanted to laugh around her. That was the power she had over him. “Thanks for not telling me that then Alex. I miss you.” He tried in hopes that they could somehow start to rebuild their friendship.

“And I said I need to pee. We can't all have what we want. I really have to g Dylan. I’ll see you around. Or not. Bye.” She said before rushing off.
