Zhu Hong out of the blue suggested to move up the wedding, and before anyone could say anything, Shen wei got up and pulled her into his room. He was beyond pissed, that he was lost for words.
"Yah, are you bent on pissing me off? are you bent on losing a close friend, are you bent on losing a brother? what is wrong with you?" he asked in a low but harsh tone,
Zhu, just looked at him sternly
"don't want him to have you" she said casually
"why Zhu? is nothing between you and me, never have, never will , so why?"
"Because If I can't have you, then no one can, and when we get married, then you would be somewhat mine, and maybe in time you would even fall for me" she said with a smile. Shen wei looked at her as if she was insane
"even if we get married, I will never fall for you, nor will you ever have me, you really need to start thinking logically. Keep this up sis, and you will lose me"
"I'm sure I don't have to reminded you of what will happen if the merging fail right? I know you well enough to know that you won't let that happen to your parents" She said with a smirk, Shen wei let out a big sighed,
"Do you really want me to hate you, sis? because you are really very close to make me hate you, and you know very well , what will happen then right?"
She did not say anything to that and was just starring at him.
Back at the dining table, they started to talk about
"kids these days, are so impatient but good they are so in love that they want it moved up, gives a good picture"
Yunlan knew she did it on purpose, he just don't understand why, thought they were like brother and sister. Then he said
"sorry to interupt, but...I think that is a bad idea" They all looked at him, and Shen weis father asked
"how so?" Yunlan shifted in his seat and then continued
"Right now, the both companies are merging right? so if you suddenly rush a wedding in the middle of a merging, what would most people think?" They all got quiet for a while then one of the investors said
"I personally would think, that the was something wrong with the company, a lot of people theses days use marriage as an alliance between two companies, but time shows that's never a good idea, so I wold not be interested in investing in such a company."
"yes exactly, I toke a company strategy courses in college so its kind of my specialty, I would highly recommend not to rush a wedding at this moment, rather let the company shine based on achievements. Experience investors knows that people don't get married when their company are in danger, unless its as you said an alliance so they would then think that the company is in a very very bad shape " Yunlan said confidently, Shen weis father started laughing,
"that is so true, strategy huh? very good very good, no wonder the draft of the proposal was so good" and he looked at Yunlan with a big smile. He smiled back, and they all went back to chit chatting.
For Yunlan he did it obviously to prevent his man to be stolen, but he had not lied, it was true that rushing a wedding now would raise lot of questions and rumors.
Shen wei and Zhu Hong came back, and they had already moved to the living room for some tea and sweets. Shen wei gave Yunlan an apologetic look, but Yunlan only smiled big at him, and gave him a quick wink. Shen wei was puzzled at this, as he sat down next to Yunlan, his dad said
"we have decide that we will push the wedding back, no specific date" Both Shen wei and Zhu Hong was shocked, obviously Shen wei was internally happy but for Zhu Hong it was different.
"why?" she asked harshly
"its better for the merging " her dad answered, then Shen wei s dad continued to say
"xiao wei, make sure to make Zhao Yunlan an full time employee soon as possible, it would be such a shame to lose such a talent to another company" and he smiled towards Yunlan, who only smiled back and say
"you are making me blush Mr Shen" and they all started laughing. Shen wei could not stop looking at him, he was amazed and wondered what they had talked about while they were gone. Yunlan had to nudge him to stop starring and focus on other people in the room.
After some time all the guests left, it was only Zhu and her father left. Yunlan and Shen wei was on their way to leave when his mother asked to have a word with him alone. Yunlan was in Shen weis room, just looking around.
Shen weis mother just looked at Shen wei, and he was a bit puzzled, then she hugged him
"I'm sorry xiao wei" he hugged her back
"mom what is wrong?"
"we have made things so hard for you haven't we?" Shen wei looked at her, still not sure what she was talking about
"Your in love with him are you not?" his mother asked. Shen wei looked away, and wondered if he should be honest or not, in the end he just nodded slowly.
"he seem like a very nice man, and he makes you smile" Shen wei gave her a small smile.
"give me some time to see what we can do about this and the company okay? just keep it from your father for now" Shen wei nodded,and gave her another hug
"thank you mom" she gave him a smile.
On the other side, Yunlan was just looking out the window when suddenly Zhu came in. He turned around and gave her a small smile. She did not smile back, she crossed her arms
"are you in love with him?" she blurted out, Yunlan only smiled and "what do you think?"
She scuffed, "Think you are just trying to sleep your way to the top" Yunlan only smiled and said
"I see, you are in love with your brother right?" She got fired up
"we are NOT brother and sister"
"that's what he said, he only see you as a sister, always have always will"
"feelings can change, no one knows what will happen in the future" she said with a smirk.
Yunlan smiled, "true indeed , but some things will never change no matter how hard you try"
Zhu was thinking, this one is not easy to scare, so then she said
"do you know what will happen if the merging fail?" Yunlan shook his head
"well, Shen wei s family will lose their company, and pretty sure that is going to give Mr Shen a big shock, which would affect his heart, did you know he has a heart condition? " Yunlan was surprised ,
"I thought that it was your company that was in danger, and them helping you out?"
"yes it is our company that is in danger, but years back my father and Mr Shen played poker, and Mr Shen lost, so they made a deal that if our company was failing or needing any help, they would help out no matter what, even if it meant that they would have to give us their company"
Yunlan was still puzzled, so in other words they had to save Zhu s company or they would lose theirs, so to make everyone happy they would simply merge it together.
Zhu saw that she was getting what she wanted so she kept going,
"so don't you think its a bit selfish of you to make him give up a family company, his father and grandfather build up from the ground, with blood, sweat and tears? and then make him lose his family, isn't that to much to ask of someone, just because of what? love? attraction? "
Yunlan was in a trans, just thinking, she was indeed right, its to much to ask of him, he can't let him do that. That would be to harsh for his family. They say when you truly love someone, you just want them happy, regardless if its not with you.
"thanks, I got to go, tell Shen wei I left" Zhu smiled and nodded
Shen wei was on his way back to his room when he saw Yunlan run out and Zhu walking out of the room.
"Yunlan?" Yunlan turned around, and "I have to go, talk later" and he ran out before Shen wei could say anything. He looked at Zhu and saw she had a big smile on her face, and he knew she did something.
He ran after Yunlan, but it was to late, he was gone, he could not see him anywhere. He tried calling him, but no answer. He jumped in the car and drove to his house. But no one was home.
Shen wei was getting nervous , very nervous. He went to his house and got a big surprise. He had barley stopped the car before he got out and ran towards Yunlan, and hugged him tight.
"why did you leave like that??" Yunlan held him back, "I'm sorry" After a while they let go and went inside.
"what happen?" Shen wei asked carefully , Yunlan did not answer and only smashed their lips together. The kiss was full of need. When they broke a part from the kiss, both panting Yunlan whispered
"I need you, make love to me" Shen wei had a feeling something was wrong, but he thought he needed him so he kissed him again, while lifting him up and walked to the bedroom.
Clothes were off, they were making love slowly, tenderly Shen wei was trying to read Yunlans, he felt so needy, then he noticed tears starting to fall, he halted his movement
"lan lan, what is wrong?" he just shook his head
"please don't stop" and he pulled him in for a kiss, deep kiss, Shen wei heart started to beat faster, this seemed like a dejavu, it was like this in Cuba, the last night, he quickly pulled away
"is...is this a goodbye?" Yunlan was quiet, and he sat up pulling his knees up to his chest.
"are..are you..don't you want to be with me anymore?" Shen wei asked with tears almost falling. Yunlan s tears was already falling and he said
"I...have..to..let..you..go" he said weakly
Shen wei did not know what to do or say, he wanted to say, no stay with me please, but he thought what if he made him stay then in the end he could not get out of the marriage thing, in the end he would be the on to be hurt. His heart and mind was in such a conflict , his mind was saying, let him go, but his heart was screaming, never let him go.
"can't we..sleep on this, talk about it tomorrow?" he asked Yunlan, Yunlan hesitated a bit, but in the end nodded.
Shen wei went back to bed and pulled Yunlan close and wrapped his arms around him and they both drifted into sleep with heavy hearts.
In the morning Shen wei woke up to empty bed, but a note.

When Yunlan got to work, he was met with Da, Da could easy see something was wrong, so he pulled him to an empty room.
"please talk to me" Da pleaded , Yunlan was quiet for a while and then told him everything, everything from the day they first met til today.
"wow I could tell she was a bitch but damn she is just just so so super bitch" Yunlan chuckled,
"super bitch?" he asked chuckling
"could not think of other word" he said laughing. It got quiet for a while, Da was in deep thoughts.
"I don't think you should give up on him, I mean you love him, he loves you so no, don't give up" Yunlan started crying
"then what do we do? I can't just sit back and let him lose the company, and destroy his family on top of that"
"hey hey, stop crying, we will figure out something, I will talk with my dad" Yunlan looked at Da, he smiled
"you already got a plan don't you?" Da only winked, Yunlan knew that look, and so he trusted him.
Da was an only child so growing up with Yunlan, he always felt like they were one family, so in his heart and soul Da felt both Yunlan and Zheng was his younger siblings that he had to protect, so for him it was not hard to do anything he could to make them both happy and they treated him back as such too, they never toke advantage of him because his family was rich.
Ever since he was young, his parents was often away due to business, so he mostly stayed with Yunlans family. Yunlans parents treated Da the same as their own kids, if he did something wrong, they would scold him, and he had to take part of the housework. Because of that even Da s parents were grateful towards them, and treated them with sincerity and respect.
Da went to make some calls and Yunlan went to his desk. He saw that Shen wei already had come to work. Yunlan thought for a bit then texted him
I really can't give up on you and he got back
please come in to my office , so he did
as soon as he closed the door behind him, Shen wei hugged him tight, and they hugged for a while, without any words, then tender kisses and Shen wei whispered
"I can't let you go either"
Then they went back to work.
At lunch time, Shen wei was walking towards Yunlan, and he was about to get up when he noticed Shen wei stop in his track and he looked over to where Shen wei was looking and saw his father walking with Zhu Hong. Everyone stopped at what they were doing and was silent
He did not look happy, and before Shen wei could greet him, his father hit him so hard that he fell to the ground.
