kian and jc's video consisted of eight girls standing in a box to compete for ten thousand dollars
they begged me and since i had nothing else to do, i decided to join, thinking it could be fun
kian and jc screw the plexiglass box shut as we quietly stand inside
like this, looking straight at the door that opens:

kian and jc are joking around along with all the other boys that are standing outside which are corey, bobby, sebastian, jake, and heath
"i don't think i can do this, y/n" kristen whispers, her face ghostly white
"yes you can, k. i believe in you"
"i know, but-"
"no buts, scotty will be here soon and he'll be so proud to see you in here"
she sighs "i guess you're right. i just-i don't know how long i can last"
i smile, pulling her into a hug "just last long enough for scott to see you in here, be proud of you, and brag a little"
she laughs as she pulls away, color back on her cheeks as she gives me a big smile "thank you"
i smile "anytime, kristen"
"that was so cute" bobby gushes, making all of us laugh loudly
a little while later, gabbie screams "there's the infamous tesla"
kristen and i look at the road, big smiles on our faces as we watch the car pull into the driveway
scott walks over to kristen as david walks over to me
"hi baby" he says, a big smile on his face
i giggle "hi david"
"how are you holding up?"
"good. we're all so bubbly and goofy. it's hard to not be happy"
all the girls coo at my comment, making me laugh and blush
david laughs at me "you're cute"
"you're cuter" i shoot back, giggling as i watch his cheeks heat up
my eyes wander to kristen who's talking to scott
"baby, i've stayed in here for a few hours now and i really don't feel good" she says
i put the back of my hand against her forehead, frowning "you are burning up"
she nods with a frown
"if you want to get out, then get out. i'm proud of you no matter what" he says, a small smile on his lips
all of the girls coo, making scott smile even wider
"okay, i'm done" kristen announces
all the girls frown, pulling her into hugs as kian and jc unscrew the door
"bye kwisten" i say as she exits, smiling as the fresh air hits her face for a moment before she's engulfed in scotty's arms
i smile at them "they're so cute"
"yeah, they are" franny adds
"why aren't we as cute as them, jake?" tara asks as jake walks over
"we are babe. your height makes us cute" he says, a big smile on his face
she playfully rolls her eyes before turning to me
"but honestly you and david are my ship" she says
my cheeks heat up "really?"
she nods "yeah, you two are adorable together and the way he makes time for you for the most random things is the absolute cutest. plus when you show up in other people's videos, you and him are always in the background cuddling or doing some cute shit" she pauses "wow, i am such a fangirl, sorry"
i laugh, pulling her into a hug "no, don't apologize. you are literally the cutest thing ever"
when we pull away, she's beaming
"you and jake are really cute too. how your styles and personality match, yet don't clash. my eyes are always glued to the screen when you two post videos together"
she blushes wildly, making me giggle as i turn towards the boys, seeing david talking to heath
"hey david"
he looks up, a smile forming on his face, as he walks over to me
"yeah babe?"
i turn towards tara, picking her up, holding her bridal style as i turn towards him again
"can we keep her, please?"
he laughs loudly along with everyone else
"no baby, we can't"
i set her down, smiling as she stands awkwardly in the corner
"but she's so cute, please?"
david laughs loudly "how about we invite her and jake over for dinner sometime?"
i playfully pout "fine"
he smiles "good. i'll set it up right now"
i giggle "i love you"
he laughs "i love you too, ya goof"

it's been about four hours now
so far mariah and gabbie are wearing hoodies as franny and nessa are wearing helmets
we're all still pretty cheery, although we are winding down from the heat
i look over at gabbie who's swaying uneasily from one side to another
i walk over to her, gabbie
she slowly opens her eyes
"yeah?" she asks, hoarsely
"you need to leave before you pass out, hun"
she nods "you're probably right. i'm getting out"
i help her take off the hoodie as kian and jc open the door, gabbie stumbling out with the hoodie in hand
"guys, she needs water and a cold towel, please" i say
corey runs in to get it as gabbie slowly lays onto her back with a sigh
she gulps down the water before laying the towel over her eyes, resting

a handful of hours later, it's just me and mariah left
"the battle of the vlog squad girls" kian says in a deep voice, making mariah and i laugh
"who will win?" jc asks, in the same voice
i turn to mariah, smiling widely at her as she smiles widely at me
"i'm gonna leave" i say, not breaking eye contact
surprise crosses her face "why? it's obvious that you have the advantage"
i smile "because i love you mariah. you're like family to me and you work your ass off day in and day out. you deserve this more than anyone"
"you're gonna make me cry" she says as she pulls me into a big hug
kian and jc unscrew the door, opening it widely, as it doesn't matter anymore
i dramatically step out, breathing the fresh air before turning to see kian and jc congratulating mariah on her win as they hand her the money
we all clap loudly as heath runs to pull her into a big hug
i smile at them, feeling two arms wrap around me from behind
i smile, the familiar strawberry shampoo scent filling my nose as i lean my head back onto david's chest
"you're the best, you know that?" he says
i giggle "i didn't, but now i do"
he laughs as i turn around in his arms, wrapping my arms around his neck as he pulls me even close to him
"you continue to surprise me everyday, y/n" he whispers, leaning closer to me
i lean up, our lips almost touching "i could say the same thing about you, david"
he smiles before connecting our lips in a passionate kiss
when we pull away, i see kian, jc, and bobby walking over to us
"post interview" kian says
"why'd you do it?" jc asks
i turn around, leaning my head back onto david's chest as he keeps his arms around my waist
i smile "mariah works her butt off everyday and is always selfless. she deserves it. plus i have my prize right here and money is worthless when compared to him"
"stooop" david whines, burying his head in my neck, making me giggle as the boys give me a big smile before walking away
"they're gone" i whisper
he takes his head out of my neck before placing kisses to it instead
i smile blissfully at his delicate kisses
he stops when mariah asks everyone to come over
we walk over, david not even attempting to remove his hands from me, as we still stand off to the side
"i know kian and jc said no splitting, but technically i didn't agree or plan to do it while the video was going on so i'm going to give all you girls a hundred each" she says, warily looking at kian and jc who just shrug, not caring
she smiles widely, handing everyone a hundred dollar bill receiving 'thank you's
i'm the last one
when she gets to me, she offers a hundred, but i shake my head
"it's your money, mariah. you won it. keep it"
she frowns "but you basically gave it to me and at least let me-"
i cut her off, giggling "keep it. you deserve it"
she sighs before playfully rolling her eyes "you win, i guess"
i giggle "love you too"
she laughs before walking over to heath who pulls her into a hug
"you're absolutely crazy, babe" david says, chuckling "first you give up ten thousand dollars. then you turn down a hundred. what's next- twenty thousand?"
i smile turning around in his arms, resting one hand on his shoulder, the other playing with his hair
"there is one thing that i won't turn down or give up" i whisper
he raises an eyebrow "oh yeah, and what's that?"

he smiles, leaning down to kiss me with rosy cheeks
