new group, same anxiety {jake}

i check my messages again, checking and rechecking that i'm at the correct apartment number, not wanting to embarrass myself

jake kept begging me to come and meet his friends and i finally gave in although i'm terrified

i take a deep breath before ringing the doorbell

i hear everyone scream from the inside, making me grow nervous

sam opens the door with a smile, followed by a confused expression

"um, i'm sorry, can i help you?" he asks

"i-i um i'm here for jake" i stutter like an idiot

he nods, stepping to the side, everyone's eyes on me

"you came" jake screams, jumping off the couch, running over to me

he picks me up, twirling me around, making me laugh

"i was so nervous that i had the wrong apartment" i say as he sets me back on the ground

he laughs "well you didn't"

i nod, feeling my cheeks heat up as i look around the room, shyly

"care to introduce us, jake?" sam asks, sitting next to kat on the couch

jake wraps his arms around me from behind, pulling me into him

"she already knows all of you from videos cause i had her watch some"

"you made her watch our videos?" colby asks, laughing "why?"

"so she could put some of her nerves to rest and already feel familiar with faces and names" jake explains

they nod

"my name's y/n"

"oh yeah, i forgot to say your name" jake says, laughing

i laugh, turning to flick his forehead, making him laugh louder

"are you two dating, or can i have you?" mike asks

i blush as jake's grip tightens around me

"back off, she's mine"

i pull out of jake's grip, hugging his side as my hand traces patterns on his back, calming him down

"how long have you two been dating?" kat asks

i smile at her "a little over a year"

wide eyes and gasps fill the room

i feel my cheeks heat up as i hide my face in jake's side

he laughs lightly, rubbing my back in return

"i didn't say anything right away because i didn't know if it was going to last"

"but after six months, you could've said something" corey says
