After we had all limped home I went up to my bedroom and shifted back. I grabbed a pair of Pj's and tossed them on as my door opens and Leo steps in. His face is still bloody but I kiss him anyway. I held him tightly.
"I love you so much" he whispers in my ear. Lifting me off my feet I put my head on his shoulder breathing in his scent. I kiss his cheek
"I love you" I murmurer against his neck.
"You can never do that to me again, I can't lose you. Please..." he says hugging me tighter. I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
"Don't worry, she's gone...." I says and he growls
"I can't believe she hurt you." he growls, I look up and his eye's have clouded over as his wolf tries to push through
"Angel, I watched you save me. I saw her kill herself. You brought me back. I was dead. I was cold. I was watching my body as it shut down. You saved my life." I say kissing his neck. As he shudders when I mentioned death
"But once again you saved me." I say, trying to get down and stand but he held me tighter
"No..please. Just let me hold you" he says and I smile sadly and rest my head on his shoulder almost as if he was holding a sleeping child.
"I owe you my life, Leo" I say and he shakes his head
"With out you I would have nothing to live for." he says and that's when I can't hold it in. A tear slips down my cheek I try to wipe it away before he could see it.
"Don't hide your tears from me, love. Its okay to be upset after what you just went through you have every right to be sobbing right now but you arn't...You're so strong." he says kissing my cheek where the tear had ran
A knock on the door makes us remember reality. I go to step down but Leo just laughs and holds me tighter to him. I really don't mind.
"Come in" I say and Charlie and Izzy peek in
"Yes?" Asks Leo
"Dad wants us to go down stairs.... We're having a pack meeting." Says Charlie looking at the floor Izzy is smiling looking at Leo and I
"We'll be down is a second" says Leo kissing the side of my head, Izzy almost giggles
"Come down soon, last thing we want it to have to send some one up again" she says taking Charlie's hand and going back down stairs.
"You know we really have to go" I say resting my forehead against his
"Maybe I'm not ready to let you go?" He teases and I kiss his nose
"Come on, Angel, lets go" I say and he lets me step down but still keeps his arm around my waist. Almost as if he doesn't hold me i'll disappear, but once again I don't mind
We walked down the stairs and in to the living room, we rarely use the living room. Leo sits down in a lazy boy chairs and pulls me on to his lap I rest my head in his shoulder. Not caring how much I weigh or how heavy I am. I know that he needs to hold me right now, just as much as I need to be held. Everyone was already in the living room, in the far end sitting beside Jess was Mason.
"I want him out of here" growls Noah giving Mason the death glare
"Let's hear him out" grumbles Dad clearly not impressed my Jess's mate
"I'm so sorry" says Mason. Jess takes his hand and I smile, she's happy. "I didn't want to do any of that, Clara..."
"It's okay" says Jess, resting her head on his shoulder. Masons eyes get brighter as he looked at his mate
"No, it is not" says Reeve who seems beyond angry. I've only ever seen him like this once before... the only time he ever yelled when he was angry.
"Reeve it's fine, he didn't want to do it... I trust him" says Jess and Reeves eye's cloud over
"Really cause he just helped our mother try and kill Ryan!" He says and I sigh
"Reeve, I'm fine. Lets give him a chance" I say and everyone turns to look at me eyes wide as if they forgot I was even here
"What did happen, Ry?" Asks Dad who looks like he was struck by lighting,everyone is still dirty and covered in blood. They all have more clothes on which I am great full for
"Um.... Ill tell you later... I'm still kinda dizzy" I admit and Leo frowns
"Why didnt you tell me?" He asks worridly
"Cause it didn't hit till just now..." I say and a wave of pain crashes into my head. I wince and put my hand on my temple
"Come. You've been through a lot lets get you washed up and go to bed" days Leo and I nod and struggle to get to my feet but I can't seem to find up
"Here, Beautiful" Leo says picking me up and carting me out of the room and up to our bedroom. He lies me down on the bed and I protest
"I'm bloody" I say try to get back up
"We can wash the sheets" he assures me I close my eyes and snuggle up next to him when he lies beside me
"I love you, Leo" I whisper and fall asleep hearing him say "I love you too"
When I woke I wasn't as dizzy as yesterday. Leo was still sleeping under me snoring I smile and kiss his cheek his eyelids flutters and then open when we sees me he smiles and tickles me.
"Stop it, Leo" I giggle and he laughs we just sit like that laughing until our laughter slowly dies and we're just sitting there looking at each other.
"Happy birthday" he says
"Oh right.... I forgot" I say getting up stretching I wipe my hand across my mouth and my hand has dried blood on it.
"I need to have a shower" I say looking at the clock it's early probably no one else is up
"Are you sure you're okay? I don't want you to fall" Leo frowns
"I'm fine, I just need a shower" I say walking down the stairs an completing me task. I probably washed my face three times.
When I walked back upstairs Leo was gone and I tossed on some clothes and the noticed that the bed had been stripped of its sheets
I tossed on my favorite pair of jeans and a light blue shirt ran the brush through my hair that had dried fast and left it down something I rarely do. I tossed on my baseball hat on my head grabbed a pair of socks and headed down stairs
When I walked down i smelt something great. I walked in to the kitchen were Leo was cooking breakfast somehow he has showered and gotten dressed
"How did you get clean?" I ask hugging him from behind
"A magician never revels his secrets" He jokes. I stand on my tippy toes and look over his shoulder he's making crapes
"I didn't know you could cook?" I gasp, pecking his cheek and lean up against the counter
"Well I was told that someone didn't eat in the morning" he says raising a eyebrow at me
"Who ratted me out?" I narrow my eyes
"Its not healthy not to eat in the morning, you're already thin enough" he says and I roll my eye's not believing him
"Whatever" I say looking down
"It's your birthday, you aren't allowed to be sad" he says kissing me on the cheek
"I'm not sad," I say and smile
"I think the other birthday girl is up" he says and I strain my ears to hear. Yup, people are definitely moving around above us.
"Good morning" says Charlie holding Izzy's hand.
"Morning" says Leo and I
"And Happy birthday Ryan!" yells Izzy. I wince at the volume
"Thanks" I force a smile
"Whats wrong Ryan? Not excited to be 18?" asks Charlie punching me playfully on the shoulder
"Of coarse I'm excited." I say smiling again
"What are you cooking Leo?" asks Izzy walking over and taking a look
"Crapes" he says turning to look at us and putting the burner on low
"So what happened after we went to bed last night?" I ask and Izzy shrugs
"Nothing much, pretty well the same thing that happened when Leo joined. You know test run, but Mason has to sleep on the couch. And just that he cant join the pack 'till he proves himself" says Izzy
"Its gotta be rough on Jess, it was hard on me... But it was worth it." I say smiling at Leo who smiles back
"You two are so cute together." says Izzy and Charlie rolls his eyes
"How are you feeling, Ryan?" asks Charlie a concerned look on his face
"Fine, I feel great...very alive" I say and Leo crosses his arms
"Not funny" he says dryly
"Its a little funny" I say and Noah walks in with his other half
"Whats funny?" asks Angela
"Me" I grin and Noah rolls his eye's, theres alot of sass
"There's a different word for you" he says and my two brothers laugh
"Well then" I scoff "Thats no way to treat the birthday girl."
"Love you!" Noah coo's jokingly
"Where's Reeve? He's my favourite you know" I say smugly
"Your 'favourte' brother went out last night, I'm sure he'll be back soon. he wouldn't miss your birthday for the world" mock glares Noah
"He was really upset last night" I say concerned, What if he did something stupid?
"Well... He... He's allowed to be given the circumstances" says Charlie and I nod
"Well lets not talk about that to day, lets celebrate! I lived to see 18!" I say and giggle
"We, Ryan. We lived to see 18" says Jess who had just walked in holding a very nervous looking Mason's hand
"Morning" I say smiling at both of them
"Happy Birthday." says Mason towards me and I smile again
"Thanks, Happy birthday to you Jess" I say
"And you my dear older sister" she says in a phony English accent
"So what big thing do you two birthday girls have planned" asks Angela, twirling her spoon in my coffee
"I'm not sure..." answers Jess
"I just know it will be great!" I grin
"For the Birthday Girls" says Leo and turns around with two plates of crapes with candles that say "Happy" and "Birthday" and hands one to Jess and one to me.
"Oh thanks Leo" says Jess "They look amazing!"
"Thanks, Angel" I say and he blushes when I give him a kiss
"Angel?" smirks Dave who appeared at the doorway
"Shut up." glares Leo jokingly looking at him turning red
"I think its adorable" says Jess who was mowing down a crapes
"Yeah, its pretty cute" says Izzy
"Well I was think maybe taking a trail ride today?" asks Leo addressing me
"Sure" I say nibbling on a crape
"Speaking off horses, go cheek the barn" Noah looks at me with a glint in his eye.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"Happy birthday." he say and I run out the door and to the barn where I'm greeted by a new blue and black saddle and bridle for Luna.
"Oh!" I squeal and hug it. Its beautiful!
"What do you think?" asks Noah who had showed up at the door. Apparently everyone ran after me
"I love it! Oh thank you so much!" I say giving him and Angela a hug. But then I feel guilty.... I'm the reason he doesn't have a horse.
"I'm glad, the one Luna has is kinda old" he says "Oh and Jess go and look in your closet"
"My closet? Ohmygawd! I love you!" she screams and runs to the house, trailing Mason and the group behind her. I holler after them that I'll be up in a bit. Leo stays behind watching me work as I straighten up the barn. All of the horses are in field.
"Lets go for a trail ride" he says eagerly, giving me a kiss.
"I'll go and get the horses, wanna come with me?" I ask and toss him a lead rope together we march out and go collect our horses. I grabbed Luna who seemed really excited to be going for a ride and Leo careful clicked the lead onto Frosts halter. He still hasn't fully warmed up to horse yet... I wonder why he wants to go and a trail ride?
We groomed them and tacked them up and soon I was cantering through the field.
"Wait up, Ry" gasps Leo who was barley trotting
"Where do you have in mind?" I ask, laughing at his strugle. Mean i know, but its too cute when he gets all flustered.
"Oh just follow me." he says and I groan
"But you're so slow" I drag out the word he just smiles
"Trust me" he says and I smile he goes a little faster as we approach the woods. He finds the trail that we have cleared for riding and starts on it. The last time we we're on this trail....
Suddenly he stops. I squeeze on the rains and stop beside him. I look around confused we aren't on the trail. And suddenly it clicks. This is where I first saw Leo. Leo hops off and I dismount he walks over to a fallen log and just stands there with his back to me
"Leo.... Why did you bring me here?" I whisper and the sound bounces around the forest jumping off the trees
"This is the spot where I made the biggest mistake of my life." He says turning to face me "I hurt you so badly"
"But you came back and that's all that matters" I step towards him, unsure of where this is going
"But what if its not?" he asks looking at the ground nervously.
"Not what?" I ask getting scared
"Not enough. What if I haven't proved that I deserve you?" he asks, looking up with me with earnest green eyes.
"You have." I say and my heart starts beating faster
"But I haven't. I need to prove to you I'm not going anywhere. I need to make sure that you understand how much I love you. How much I need you." he says taking my hands in his and staring down at me
"You have" I whisper again
"But there's still so much more I can do" he says and starts to smile
"What are you talking about?" I ask and he gets down on one knee and takes a ring box out of his pocket. My heart stutters in my chest.
"Ryan Pine, I love you so much. I know I'm screwed up when we first met but I'm always going to be trying to prove to you how much I love you. You're never going to be alone. I'll be with you through everything, the bad and the good. I almost lost you forever yesterday. I'm not willing to let it happen again. I've asked your Dad and he's given us his blessing. Will you please marry me?" he says
I kneel down so that we're face to face. I run my fingers through his hair and he closes his eyes. I look into his eye's when I answer "Yes. Leo I love you so much"
He slips the ring onto my finger and I kiss him. We end up lying in the mud. The stone my hand shines. Its beautiful, its what I would have chosen. We stayed like that for a long time. The horses just stood there behaving well, tied up to a tree branch.
"I love you" I say and kiss him. A sort of kiss that parents would cover their childrens eyes if they ever caught sight of.
"I love you too" he says and I rest my head on his chest simply enjoying the bliss.
"This is the best birthday present ever." I say and he chuckles
"I have another present for you" he says and I frown
"I didn't get you anything for your birthday, I think this is the best gift in the world and you don't have to get me anything else." I snuggle into him
"You woke up on my birthday remember? That was the best gift ever" he says and I close my eye's
"We're going to have to get up eventually" I say
"They're probably freaking out not knowing where we are" he says
"We did tell them we're going to be right back" I recall and get up dragging him up with me we get back on the horse and walk back to the house. Where I see Reeve's car in the driveway. We put the horses away and go inside his and in mine hiding my ring.
"Leo, Ryan come here and meet Jenna" says Reeve holding on to the hand of a very shy but happy girl.
"Hi" I smile
"Hello" she says and the same goes for Leo.
"Reeve found his mate" mock whispers Noah and I gasp, well that was stupid. I didn't put two and two together.
"Oh that's great!" I clap my hands together "Welcome to the family"
"Thanks and happy birthday " Says Jenna. She's pretty. Long brown hair and brown eye's. She's wearing a sundress so she's girlier than I. But she looks like she might like books. She has a smart and calm look to her
"Thanks" I say and look at Leo. He goes to take his hand away, but that would uncover the ring. I tighten my grip. I don't want to steel Reeves thunder.
"Not yet, soon" I send him, he kisses my temple in reply
"Any news you want to tell us about Ryan?" asks Dad who is up and drinking coffee.
"Yes.What was the whole secert trail ride about?" asks Angela, trying to get the gossip
"Um...." I say looking at Reeve who looks like he might explode with happiness. Everyone is here and everyone is happy. All of my brothers and sister have found their mates.
"Um..." I say again and Leo chuckles I look up at him and he lets go of my hand and wraps his arm around my waist. Showing my ring to the whole family.
"Oh. My. God.... Is that a... " gasps Jess her mouth falling open. I nod and starts smiling
"What?" questions Noah. My brothers look confused but everyone else gets it.
"Ryan! I'm so happy for you!" gushes Izzy giving us a hug
"Thanks... I'm happy too" I squeak, biting my lip happily
"Whats going on?" asks Charlie. Looking at Izzy, then I. Then Izzy, as if we were a tennis game
"Ryan and Leo are getting married!" giggles Angela
"Congratulations" smiles Jenna and I decide I like her.
"What?" gasps Reeve his mouth falling open
"Congrats" says Mason still attached to Jess's hip.
"Congrats guys" says a smiling Dave... the only one who hasn't found his mate yet.
"Thanks..." I say and Jess takes my hand to see my ring
"Its beautiful." sighs Jess
"Wait, what?" asks Charlie not even mad just not understanding
"Ryan and Leo are getting married. See the ring." say Dad laughing at my brothers. Who look like its their first day of kindergarten
"Oh.... Oh." says Reeve looking at Leo with a look on his face that says 'I'm not sure if i like this, let me think about it'
"But! No, they just met.... Wait what?" Charlie starts freaking out, looking almost panicked. I pull Leo closer, crossing my fingers hoping for a violence free encounter.
"Its okay. They have my blessing" says Dad who looks at my smiling "As long as she's happy"
"I am... I'm really happy" I say giving Leo a kiss
"Gross!" gags Noah srunching his eyes closed
"Get a room" scoffs Charlie
"So immature" I say shaking my head by smiling "So you guys are okay with it?"
"When will the wedding be?" asks Noah
"I dont know." I say and look at Leo who shrugs his shoulders
"Will you still live here?" asks Charlie
"I don't know, do you really want two newly weds living here? I ask blushing after I say it
"What about school What are you going to tell people?" asks Noah,
"I don't know anything.... We'll cross all these roads when we get to them"
"But you're sure about this?" asks Dad looking at both Leo and I. I look up to see Leo looking down at me
"I'm sure" I say
"I'm positive" Leo reassures me with a promising look in his eyes and I smile.
"Well then I guess my gifts just been blown out of the water" sighs Jess and I laugh
"So its time for presents" says Izzy handing me a box. And so did Reeve and just about everyone soon Jess and we covered in gifts. I sat in the big comfy Lazy boy and opened them all. I got a lot. I got a new laptop, some stuff for Luna, a bit of hunting stuff, and from Angela some... lingerie. Which I was about to pull out of the bag and shoved it back in thank god. I got a tonne of books.
Jess got clothes and make up, hair stuff. Girly stuff. But that's Jess loving and girly. But Mason did give Jess a really beautiful bracelet. I don't know when he got the chance to go and shop but whatever. Overall this was the best birthday ever. I'm now going be be married. Oh Wow.
