(Y/n) POV
I wake up to my phone alarm. It makes me feel uncomfortable for it doesn't sound anything like my usual alarm. I slowly get out of bed.
I make the hospital bed really quickly and wait on one of the chairs for Dr. (D/n) to come into my room.
I finally hear a knock and (D/n) enters the room.
"How are you feeling, (L/n)?" (S)he asks.
"I'm feeling perfectly fine, nothing strange," I say.
"Okay. That's a relief. I can let you go as soon as I give you your next appointment date," (S)he says. "And (L/n)? You have to be careful of overwork, and if there's anything wrong with your scar, I need you to come to the hospital immediately."
"Yes, I know," I say.
(D/n) nods and leaves the room, "They'll let you know your next date at the reception desk,"
I quickly change into my school uniform and go to the reception desk. I get my appointment slip and check the date. It's right around the sports festival, give or take a few days. I walk to the subway station and check the time. I have an hour before school starts, I should be fine. I need to head home to get a few bandages just in case.
I enter the train and wait for the train to reach my station.
Beep. The doors are opening.
As I leave the train, I find the girl I saw in the hospital yesterday, lining up to get onto the train. Beautiful white hair, nothing like my red. I spot a bulge on her right arm she was hiding her arm with her sleeve but I saw I piece of ice sticking out. 'Oh, I see. That's a block of ice, maybe it's like my scar. Is she like me?' I think.
I turn away from the train that just left and I start to head home. I need to let them know that everything was fine and get the textbooks that I left at home.
"Mom!" I yell as I burst through the door.
"Oh my gosh, (Y/n), I didn't think that you would come home before going to school today," she replies.
"I had a few textbooks I needed to get and I wanted to let you know that everything was fine."
She smiles. "Thank you (Y/n)," she says. "Here, take some toast so you can eat on the train ride there,"
I take the lunchbox from her and stuff it in my bag along with the textbooks I needed. "Thanks, Mom!" I call out and leave the house again.
I run to the subway station and get on to the train. I check the time. Oh, I'm perfectly fine! I even have some time to spare... I take a seat. I open the lunchbox my mom passed to me and start eating my toast. Although it's only a few stops, their really long so I'll be able to finish.
I get off the train and walk to school.
Todoroki POV
I'm having breakfast and Fuyumi starts to say something weird. This can't be true. No, no this cannot be true.
"What?" I ask, just to confirm.
"I said, yesterday night, I went into your room to ask you to run me an errand, but you were already asleep. But then you started to talk, like sleep talk. You said 'I'm sorry (L/n).' Who's (L/n)? Did you make a friend already?"
What? I apologized to (L/n) in my sleep? How is that even possible?
"No, no, no, she is not my friend," I say.
"Ooohhhh so it's a sheeee. Hmmmmm Shoto, have you fallen in love at first sight?"
"Uh, no? I don't like her at all. She doesn't know what she's thinking or doing," I say.
"Oh my gosh, Shoto, it's only been the first day and you're already enemies with someone? And lemme guess, she doesn't hate you, you just one-sidedly decided to bully her."
"What do you mean 'it's only the first day' right after you tried to make her my love interest and she was wrong and stupid so it's not my fault," I say.
"So why don't you explain to me what she did wrong?"
"She has a fire quirk. And she looks up to Dad."
"This is so ironic but I get it. Okay, okay, but it's not like you told her why you're mad so you can't blame her,"
"That's not my fault,"
"Omg, so it's her fault she doesn't know why you're mad at her?"
"Maybe not but I'm not going to talk to her. Don't see why I have to purposely talk to someone that's blasting their fire quirk around," I say.
"Fine, fine, but why don't you at least apologize to (L/n)-chan?"
"NO."
"You- you've already said it once during your sleep," Fuyumi says while laughing.
"What are you guys talking about?" My dad comes into the room and asks me.
"There's a girl with a fire quirk. Exactly the same as yours. Perfect isn't it?" I say rolling my eyes.
"That's intriguing," he replies, "Is she strong?"
"I don't know? It's only been the first day anyway."
"Hmm, but a fire quirk, eh? Are you getting along with her well?" My dad asks.
"We were just talking about how I don't get along with her," I respond
"Okay then, find out if she's strong," he says and leaves.
'Tch,' I thought.
I grab my bag, open the door and leave for school.

The school day starts and classes work through normally.
"You guys will be having a Battle of Trials today," Aizawa-sensei says.
"Battle of Trials?"
"What's that?"
"Can you please explain it?"
"No. I'm tired. All-"
Mid-sentence, the door swings open and All Might comes in.
"I HAVE COME IN THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!" He says.
I'm struck in surprise. I didn't think that All Might would actually come to teach us. I'm so happy, I've looked up to All Might for the longest time. I- I guess that's what (L/n)'s been feeling towards my dad, but that's not what my dad really is. She doesn't know anything. But... I don't really know anything about All Might either so I guess I have no right to talk.
"In the battle of trials, we will put you into pairs, and then assign whether you're a hero group or a villain group. The villain group will protect the bomb while the hero group tries to take it back. The time limit is half an hour."
The groupings are:
Uraraka + Deku Team A
Todoroki + Shouji Team B
Yaomomo + Mineta Team C
Bakugou + Iida Team D
Ashido + Aoyama Team E
Kouda + Rikidou Team F
KamiJirou Team G
TokoTsuyu Team H
Invisible Tail Team I
Kirishima + (L/n) Team J
A vs D, B vs I, C vs G, E vs F and H vs J.
I'm fighting Ojirou and Hagakure with Shouji. I'll just freeze the whole building, get it over within a minute.
(Y/n) POV
I'm paired up with Kirishima and I'm fighting Tokoyami and Tsuyu. They're both really strong so I'm not overly confident, but My fire should be an extremely big disadvantage to Tsuyu. I don't know much about everyone yet, so I at least hope this works well.
But I saw how Todoroki's eyes lit up when All Might entered the room. He also has someone who he looks up to. I don't know why he could not like the 2nd best hero that he lives with, but there must be a reason. If Todoroki's eyes can shine like that while looking up to someone, there must be a valid reason why he hates his own dad.
Todoroki's match begins and he wins in less than a minute. He freezes the whole building. He doesn't use his left side once. Somehow, that made my heart sink.
Todoroki POV
After my match is over, I stay behind the screen and watch the other matches go along. The last match is (L/n)'s. The fire and heat are obviously going to dehydrate Asui-san. I don't know how compatible fire is with Tokoyami's Dark Shadow, but there's always Kirishima's hardening.
I wasn't planning to watch this match. I really wasn't. But the first time I saw (L/n)'s flames light up the screen bright red, I had to look back. Once I looked back, I couldn't look away.
There she stood, her flames bright red, strong and beautiful.
"Is... that the same quirk as my dad?"
