Deku was swinging his legs nervously while Kacchan scrolled lazily through the feed on his phone. He just couldn't keep still, all this pressure and stress freaked him out!
"Argh, shut it you damn nerd. You're muttering again" Bakugou grunted, throwing an arm around his boyfriend.
"I-I can't help it... Aren't you nervous at all? What if we get denied? W-what if they say no..?"
"Now who would say no to an angel like you?" he grinned, watching Midoriya's face turn a bright red. He covered his face as Katsuki came closer.
"Besides, the fact they ask us over is positive, right? Won't they just send an e-mail if you're denied?"
"Y-yeah... Yes, you're right" Deku whispered, finding a little hope to hold onto.
"Mr Bakugou?" the woman called out, making Izuku's head shoot up. Kacchan rolled his eyes, standing up while trying to contain the green head's enthousiasme.
"You're fucking embarrassing" Bakugou muttered as he pulled Midoriya with him. They shut the door behind them and instantly got a surprised face from the woman they were meeting with.
"O-oh my... I-I didn't know-You are the Wonder Duo!" she gasped. After they graduated from UA High five years ago, they really made a name for themselves.
"We tried to keep a low profile. Wouldn't want to influence your choice, now would we?" Katsuki asked, sitting down on one of the small couches.
"Deku, stop fucking around and sit already!"
"Right!" he said quickly, shaking his head and falling down in the chair.
"So are we in the clear or what?" Bakugou asked, crossing his arms.
"W-well, uhm..." she breathed, glancing at the closed file on her desk.
"This situation changes a few things"
"What do you mean? In what way?" Izuku asked confused.
"I-I know you two are professional heroes a-and that's quite the dangerous profession-"
"What does that have to do with anything? There are others who have dangerous jobs and I know some heroes who also did this shit and there was no fucking problem there!"
"Kacchan, language" Midoriya hissed, slapping him on the shoulder.
"What? I'm just saying that just because we're the Wonder Duo, doesn't mean we can't do this shit" the blond stated, looking angrily at the wall.
"N-no, no, no! Don't get me wrong... I-it's not just your profession, it's... Well..."
"Me" Deku whispered.
"I'm the problem..."
"What? Deku, I'm sure that's not it-" Kacchan started but Izuku shook his head, grabbing onto the fabric of his pants.
"No, it's me. Can't you see? S-she's scared o-of me Kacchan!" Midoriya yelled, tears building up in his eyes.
"You used Shiemi's quirk..?" Bakugou asked surprised, before angrily glaring at the woman.
"Is that true? Are you refusing us just because of a stupid thing of the past?!"
"I-I'm very sorry sir, if I had known-"
"What? You wouldn't have invited us? You wouldn't even have considered us, is that it?!" he hissed, standing up, slamming his hands down at her desk.
"Damnit! You're just like all the others! Why can no one see that we are perfectly capable of-!"
"Y-you're only making it worse, Kacchan" Midoriya whispered, wiping his tears away as he stood up.
"T-thank you for having us... I understand why we didn't make the cut..."
After that he took Katsuki's hand and slowly walked outside while Bakugou kept throwing insults and angry rants at the woman. Izuku just tried not to cry as they walked through the white halls of the building.
"Stupid woman... Stupid center... Everyone here is fucking dumb!" Bakugou hissed as they stopped to wait for the elevator. Midoriya could basically feel the stares they were getting but Katsuki ignored it all as his rant continued. As soon as the elevator doors opened, Deku pulled Kacchan inside and kept pressing the button to the underground parking lot where they left their car. When the doors finally closed, Izuku couldn't hold it anymore. He threw himself into Bakugou's arms and cried his eyes out. Kacchan instantly stopped talking and hugged his boyfriend.
"Sorry... I went to far" he muttered, kissing the top of Deku's head.
"Y-you were right..! W-we should've j-just taken a-a damn dog!" Midoriya cried out, hiding his face into Bakugou's chest. Katsuki didn't dare point him out on his language, knowing that Izuku only cursed when he lost all hope in the situation. It happened a few times when they got into a tough battle. He would curse and shout before giving it his all, his final and last straw. It only happened when they had to fight big groups off on their own though. When the fighting got to much, even for them...
"Hey... Ssh, don't give up hope yet, my little angel" Kacchan whispered, holding him close as the elevator doors opened up again.
"We will find an adoption center that wants us, okay? If you want a baby, we're going to get a baby"
"I-I never thought i-it would be so hard..." Deku sobbed as they walked to the car.
"N-no one thinks w-we're a good match! Or they're scared of me, o-or they think you're to agressive or t-that we have a too risky profession... It's never okay!"
"Hey, ssht..." Bakugou whispered, pulling him in for a hug as they arrived at the car.
"Listen, if we give up now, we'll never have our baby. We need to be presistent and keep trying okay? What kind of heroes would we be if we gave up on our dreams?"
"B-but you didn't even want a baby..." Izuku cried.
"I fucking do now, okay? We're gonna get a baby even if it's the last thing I'll ever do, you understand?!" Bakugou yelled, opening the door of the car.
"And I'm driving home! No discussion!"
After that he slammed the door shut, leaving Midoriya behind. Izuku knew Katsuki was just as bumped out about this as he was, he just had different ways of showing it. He sighed, wiping away his tears and slowly walking around to car before opening the door and letting himself fall into the seat. He noticed Kacchan was clenching the wheel, his knuckles turning white. He was gritting his teeth and staring angrily ahead.
"Don't fucking tell me I don't want this baby. Ever. Again. Understood?" he growled, not looking at his boyfriend as he started driving.
"I'm sorry..." Deku whispered on a broken tone, tears building up in his eyes again.
"It's all my fault... If you'd been with someone else-"
"I don't want this with someone else!" Kacchan shouted.
"Fuck! I-I only want to do this with you, Deku"
"I-I love you Kacchan" Izuku whispered with a teary smile.
"Yeah, yeah... Love you too..." he grunted, focussing on driving.
"I just don't understand why people can't let go! Seriously! That incident happend five years ago! How the hell are they still not over it?!"
Midoriya shrunk a little in his chair as he recalled the events of five years ago... It was a week after graduation. The sun had been shining the whole day and they'd picknicked with the whole class together. He remembered it vividly... Too vividly. His hands started shaking and his breaths became irregular as he sobbed at the memory. He understood why people didn't want him raising a child. If something like that happened again... He quickly shook his head, holding his hands in his hair for a moment.
"Sorry... I shouldn't have mentioned it" Bakugou whispered, seeing that his broccoli was freaking out.
"I-it's okay... I'm used to people calling me out on it so..." Midoriya sighed.
"No, it's not! You can't let people treat you any less because of what happened! It was set up, why can't they see that?" Bakugou hissed, clenching the wheel for a second before sighing.
"I-I know I haven't always been supportive and stuff... But know that I believe you, okay? I'll always believe you"
"Thanks... That means a lot to me" Izuku said with a weak smile.
He knew Kacchan had his own difficulties with the incident. He'd been there, like everyone else. He'd seen it first hand... Midoriya remebered the look in his eyes... The fear. Izuku had cut all ties with the outside world after that. He went missing for about a month and a half, vanishing from the world. He actually got rather lucky. After all that happened, he was still allowed to be a professional hero.
He and Bakugou had taken a break as well but came back together shortly after Shiemi's second birthday. Shiemi Midoriya, Izuku's little sister. She was almost 7 now and had the same dark green hair as him and their mom. But she had his eyes... The eyes of their father... None the less he loved her to bits. And to keep in the theme, they named her quirk after his and their father's, Share With All.
She could see and sense other people's emotions and make other people see them as well. Her dream was to help people, just like Deku, but not as a hero. She wanted to be a therapist and help people open up and get along.
"Oi, are you getting out or what?" Kacchan asked, opening his door.
Midoriya blinked, giving his boyfriend a confused look.
"You were gone there for a second, weren't you?"
"Yes, sorry" Izuku sighed, getting out. How can the blond find the patience to deal with him? Seriously? He pulled himself from the vehicle, taking Kacchan's hand as they walked into their apartment building.
"Your mom texted, she wants to know how it went" Bakugou sighed, glancing at his phone as they rode the elevator up to their floor. Izuku sighed, looking down at the floor as they walked up to the front door. They stood there for a while before Bakugou groaned.
"Keys Deku"
"Hmm? Oh! Right..." he said quietly, searching his pockets.
"I get that you're upset about this but it's just a minor set back. We will find a way to adopt a child, I promise you" he said, pecking Izuku on the lips as he took the keys from his hand and opened up the front door.
"It's not just the whole getting denied deal... It's why we got denied..." Deku muttered, falling face first onto the couch.
"She's right Kacchan! W-what if it happens again?! W-what if this t-time I-I can't control myself..?"
Midoriya started crying, hiding his face in a pillow. Bakugou was hesitant, keeping his distance. He would be lying if he said nothing changed after that day. His whole image of Izuku was turned upside down and he never saw the boy the same way again. But he still loved him and he always will. Therefore he gave Midoriya another chance. Even though Katsuki low key feared his own boyfriend...
"I'm gonna call your mom, tell her we got turned down. Again" he sighed, already searching her number in his phone.
"N-no... Please don't" Midoriya whispered, looking up at Bakugou with teary eyes.
"I-I'll tell her in person... I promised Shiemi I would visit them today anyways"
"Are you sure you're up for that? I mean, no offence but, look at yourself" Katsuki muttered, gesturing at the green mess that laid crashed on the couch. Deku frowned, throwing a pillow at the blond.
"Meanie! I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!"
"I didn't say that" Bakugou grumbled, throwing the pillow back onto the couch while trying not to lose his patience.
"You know what? I'm going right now!" Midoriya stated, scrambling to his feet.
"I'll show the world that I, Izuku Midoriya, am not afraid!"
Kacchan chuckled, grinning at his boyfriend as he put his jacket back on.
"That's the spirit! Don't let those stupid fuckers talk you down!"
"Yeah! Nobody can beat me down! I always get back up no matter what!" he shouted back with a smile.
"And that's why I fucking love you!" Bakugou yelled, hugging him and placing a kiss on his forehead.
"Be careful and text me when you get there okay? I'll take care of dinner"
"I will. Love you too" Deku smiled, giving him a peck on the lips before leaving.
They never fought like your typical couple. Their arguments were short and powerful and mostly ended up with Izuku crying and Katsuki needing to comfort him and then they'd watch a cliché romantic movie together. But sometimes it happened they kept yelling and shouting but insults turned into love confessions and eventually into a contest of who loved who more.
Because let's be honest, everything between them was a contest.
