My eyes flutter open and I see caiden sleeping next to me. His flawless skin, little freckles run down his nose and cheekbones, he sleeps peacefully. My hand goes up to his face and I caress his cheek and run my finger along his lips.
"mornin', Love"
I quickly pull my hand away, but he catches it in mid way.
"I just said morning, I never said stop"
"I was going to stop, I need to use the bathroom" I say and climb out of bed.
"learn to shut your mouth caiden" I hear him mumble under his breath. My lips tug at a small smile.
My eyes widen as I just realize.
Caiden was on the bed, he was next to me!
"why did you sleep on the bed? I said couch or bed" I say turning around.
"actually I was on the couch I came to wake you up then I slept again" he shrugs.
"liar."
"see the couch"
I turn my head sideways and I see a pillow and some blankets on the couch with caiden phone beside.
"okay, sorry"
Caidens eyes widen and he looks me up from head to toe and gulps.
Did he just check me out?.
I just woke up. I look UGLY.
I look down and heat creeps up my cheeks as I am just wearing a baby pink loose crop top and some unicorn short shorts. I quickly run to the bathroom and shut the door. I hear caiden chuckle from the other side.
I get out of the bathroom, and see that caiden is not there anymore, I grab some clothes from my bag and enter the bathroom to change
I change to my usual clothes and pack my stuffs along with some of caiden stuffs.
He walks in.
"they are boarding the bus, we gotta go"
"yep, done packing our stuffs"
"thanks...... For...um......the. Packing" he stutters
"your welcome" I say and hop out of the room.
I meet Sam standing outside, and i lock my arms with hers and hop on the bus.
I sit with sam, which pisses off caiden and charlie. We talk about books, the latest celebrity gossip and ofcourse about each other's attire.
By evening the bus reaches my stop, the bus drops our group the last and I bid goodbye to all of them including caiden, and peck him on the cheeks cause he was fighting to 'drop' me off at my doorstep. And the entire group gives 'awe' and I blush hiding myself behind caiden, and charlie shouts "get a room", as caiden did when he kissed Sam.
I reach my doorstep with Tyler and unlock the door, mom will be a little late today, because she has a critic coming to her restaurant and blah blah.
She texts us that she has prepared some, lasagna in the oven and go to bed early, cause it's a school night.
I change out of my clothes and wear some comfortable clothes, cause I am not in the mood to be cheerful, I am tired.
Before I hit my bed Chelsea hits my memory and I call her straight away.
It rings for a moment and someone picks up.
"hello?" a male voice says.
"umm.. Is this Chelsea's phone?"
"yeah"
"who is speaking right now?"
"Aaron, who are you?"
My heart stops at that moment, the guy I am speaking to right now is the guy who ruined my middle school, the reason I was called ' dumped for dare' the entire year, is speaking through Chelsea's phone.
"umm..... Babe, someone's on the line."
I hear him say from the phone,
"wait up, I am coming" I hear Chelsea say from background.
"hello? Who is it?" she asks.
"chelse?" I say my voice breaking.
"amber?"
"that amber, like 'dumped for dare' amber?" Aaron says from the back.
"I can't believe this chelse, thats why you were so happy I was leaving. You always liked him, and you guys were dating then, I would see you texting secretly."
"so what? Amber he never liked you and why would he fall for such a girl like you-"
I cut the call and throw my phone on my bed tears streaming down my cheeks. I collapse on my bed.
Chelsea was with me always like I was with her. How could she?
We were bestfriends. Or I thought we were.
Amber felt a striking pain in her chest, maybe it was just the betrayal from her friend, or that she had trusted someone so much but got back stabbed.
I wipe off my tears and get up from my bed and walk to my closet and pick out my unicorn onesie.
I always wore this when I felt down, it made me feel a little more optimistic.
I change into the onesie and hop in the bed. I take my laptop from my bedside table and go on Netflix and pick out a random movie to watch.
My brother enters the room as soon as I press on play.
"umm, I was coming to serve you dinner, and I kinda heard...."
"Tyler I am fine, I am alright"
"I can see that you got out the unicorn" he says with a Chuckle.
"just leave the food, I dont want it now "
After watching mean girls, I go to re- watching stranger things.
I hear the door of my room open
"Tyler, I'll eat later." I say not looking up.
"ahem" a male voice ' coughs'
"tyler-"
"do I look like Tyler?" caiden says looking at me, trying not to laugh.
He stands at the door way wearing just some sweats and he looks flawless.
"caiden, what are you doing here?" I say pausing the video.
"you look cute, in that. And is that how you fight your sadness?" he asks pointing to my condition.
"then how do you?" I say not bothering to ask how he knew, cause I am going to kill Tyler after he leaves
"I actually have a punching bag" he says nonchantly.
"that's your way, not mine"
"do you wanna talk about it?"
"nope"
"then what do you wanna do?"
"I wanna order take out and watch Netflix, are you up for it ?"
"any day love. Any day"
He says walking towards the bed.
"wait.... But first" I say getting up from my bed and opening my closet, I take out another pair of unicorn onesie.
That one's backup guys!
"umm...no."
"please for me" I say showing my puppy eyes.
"okay,....... But no one can know about this".
I signal zipping my lips and nodding like a child.
He grabs it from my hand and enters the bathroom.
I climb back to bed and get ready.
As soon as he gets out I snap a picture and switch off my phone and keep it aside.
"delete that right now"
"no. Please"
"YESS." he says walking up to me.
"no"
"okay you asked for it" he says and starts tickling me.
"Delete it".
"no..... Wai......stop-" I say in between laughter.
"oka...... OK..... Stop" I say laughing.
"I'll delete it later."
"let's watch fast and furious" caiden suggests.
"umm..... Okay" I say and sit comfortably and pull the blankets over us.
I press play and caiden creeps close towards me.
"lean on my shoulders love" he says.
I lean on his shoulders and we cuddle and watch the movie.
The striking pain in her chest numbed as she felt the warmth of caiden wrap around the room. The feeling was foreign, she was soft, delicate but caiden made her stronger. He was there to help her up.
And she always wanted him there.
