Toni's POV
I was sleeping peacefully until I got a text from Fangs:
Fangs💪🐍: Yo Tones!
Fangs💪🐍: Where u at? We have school today!
Fangs💪🐍: Hurry up!!!!!!

I immediately jumped up and quickly for dressed. I was almost late for school. It doesn't seem like it but we have to drive a bit longer from Riverdale to Greendale. ''Where are you going baby?'' I heard Cheryl ask. I turned around and saw she sat straight up while rubbing her eyes. ''Well, I might have forgot that I have school tomorrow and that I'm probably late'' I say. ''Oh my god, you are such a dork'' She says and I grin. I grab my stuff and hurry downstairs. There was a fruitbowl on the counter, so I grabbed an apple and went outside. Before I left I turned around and kissed Cheryl quickly. ''I'll see you later babe'' I say and she smiles. I start the engine of my bike and look back. Cheryl waves and I wink at her. She giggles and I quickly drive to school.
Why did I actually hurry to school?
I take a look at my watch and see that I still have 20 minutes. So I wasted my time with Cheryl. I arrived at school and got off. The guys were waiting outside leaning on their bikes. They noticed me and greeted me. ''There you are Topaz!'' Jug says. ''Sorry guys, I forgot we have school today'' I apologize. ''It's fine besides, you're on time'' Sweet Pea says and I nod. Suddenly all of our new friends came up to us. ''Hey guys!'' Sierra says. ''Hey everyone'' I greet them and we all talk. ''Yo Topaz, coach says it's okay if you want to try out. One question, are you any good?'' Fred asks which makes me grin. ''I don't know, I was quarterback of the Riverdale Bulldogs. You tell me'' I say and he looks a bit shocked. ''Hold up, you're the quarterback?'' He says and I nod. ''Oh dang, coach will be happy with you, dude'' He says and I grin. ''So, when are the try outs?'' I ask Fred. ''Today, after school'' He says. ''Oh shit, I can't I have a date with my girl'' I say. The girls awwhh. I roll my eyes. ''Sorry Topaz, no rescheduling.'' He says and I sigh. ''Fine, Cheryl will be pissed'' I say and call Cheryl on speaker so everyone could hear:
dialing....
Cher: Hi baby, what's up?
Me: Hey babe, well, I'm trying out for the football team and they said that the try outs are only today after school.
Cher: But we were going on a date!
Me: I know, I'm sorry
Cher: But I won't be able to see you in like weeks!
Me: I promise I'll make it up to you
Cher: Right.
Me: Please babe, I love you
Cher: Yeah, whatever

Everyone oooohhs. I sigh and put away my phone. ''Just great'' I say and Tom pats my back.
The final bell rang signaling that school was over. ''Time for try outs'' Fred says while walking up to me and everyone wishes me good luck. We went to the guys locker room and got changed.
We went outside and got greeted by a tough guy with damn abs. I swear I'm not gay. (No offense to LGBTQ+ people ✌🏳🌈🌈, love y'all)
''Coach Jennings, this is Toni Topaz, former quarterback of the Riverdale High Bulldogs. Toni, Coach Jennings'' He introduces us both and Coach Jennings looks shocked. ''You're Clayton's former quarterback?'' He asks. ''The one and only, Sir'' I say and he shakes my hand. ''I have high expectations for you, boy'' He says and smiles. I smile back and we talk. It was time for try outs and Coach told us what we had to do. I took my place and caught the ball. We played some small games and I caught and threw every ball perfectly. When try outs ended I walked over at Coach and he was stunned. ''You have a lot of potential, boy'' He says and pats my back. ''Thanks coach'' I say and he smiles. ''Alright! Try outs are over, tomorrow the results will be out!'' Coach shouts so everyone can hear him. Everyone nods and we walk towards the locker room. Once we get inside everyone tells me how good I was. We all talk and joke around.
Next day..
Today the results of the team were out. I was walking down the halls with the guys. Fred and Tom joined us halfway. We walked towards the bulletin board and I was looking for my name:
Toni Topaz ------------------ Quarterback/Captain
I couldn't believe it. I was quarterback, again?! This is insane. ''Damn Topaz!'' Fred says and I grin. The guys congratulate me and we walk to the lounge room. I still had to make up a plan to make it up to Cheryl. We arrived and I saw everyone already there. I sat down next to Hermione and we talked about football and other random subjects. The bell rang and school began.
2 weeks later.....
It was now 2 weeks later and I was dying. I haven't seen Cheryl since I cancelled our date, so I decided I would plan a date that couldn't be cancelled. Everyone helped me and I texted Veronica to see if Cheryl was free today. She replied that Cheryl is free today. I smiled and got on my bike. I drove to Riverdale High. As I arrived, the bell rang, dismissing everyone. I leaned against my bike and waited for Cheryl to come out. Eventually, she came out of school talking to Betty, Kevin, Josie and Veronica. They were still talking until I whistled. ''Hey pretty lady, mind if I take you on a date?'' I say with a bouquet of flowers in my hand and they all look at me. Cheryl looked surprised at first but smiled afterwards. She walks towards me and kisses me passionately. ''I missed you'' She says when she pulls back. ''I missed you too'' I say and she pecks my lips. I hand her the bouquet and she thanks me by kissing my cheek. ''OH MY GOD YASS'' I heard someone shout and turn around to see the rest with satisfied faces. ''This Choni reunion is everything'' Betty says and I laugh while Cheryl buries her head into my chest. We talk for a bit to catch up. We said our goodbyes afterwards and got on my bike. She wrapped her arms around my waist and I smiled. She leaned her head on my back and I drove to the park. I helped Cheryl off of my bike and grabbed the blanket out of my storage. I put the blanket on the grass and Cheryl sits down. I get a basket out of the storage and place it on the ground. I sit down and Cheryl leans onto my shoulder. ''Sorry, I cancelled our date'' I apoplogize. ''It's alright, did you make the team?'' She says. ''Yeah, I'm quarterback'' I say like it was nothing. ''What?! That means The Bulldogs will lose this Saturday!'' She says ad sits up straight. ''Wait, it's Greendale against Riverdale?'' I say and she nods. ''And suddenly, I don't want to cheer for The Bulldogs anymore'' She says. ''Hey, come on now, they need you'' I say and hold her hand. ''But I don't want to cheer against you!'' She pouts. ''I'll be fine babe'' I reassure her and wrap my arm around her. ''I still don't want to'' She says. I sigh and open my phone:
Me: Hey Ronnie, can you convince Cheryl to cheer for The Bulldogs?
Ronnie: Why wouldn't she? She's the captain.
Me: Well, turns out I made the football team at Greendale as quarterback and Saturday's game is The Bulldogs against Greendale
Ronnie: Oh man, I'll try to convince her. Still, congratulations!
Me: Thanks Ronnie, see you soon
Ronnie: No problem, ✌
''They won't have a routine without you'' I say. ''I don't care'' She says. ''Please do it for me then?'' I ask her. ''Fine, only because you're a cute ass boyfriend'' She says. ''I am not cute!'' I say fake offended and she giggles. ''You. Are. A. Cutie'' She says with a pause after each word. Before she could react, I tickled her and she was now on the ground laughing. ''Ahhh, no baby stop!'' She says within laughter. ''That's what you get'' I say and stop for a second. She looks at me and I tickle her again. Eventually, I stopped tickling her and she was catching her breath. I was laughing and she punched my arm playfully. ''Hey'' I say to get her attention. She turns around ''Yeah?'' She replies. ''I love you so much'' I say and kiss her nose. ''I love you too'' She says and giggles. I wrap my arms around her and she eases into my arms. We just sit there in the same position for 10 minutes.
We were just sitting there in the same position, still, until I got a call. Cheryl groaned and I smiled. I got my phone and saw that my dad was calling. Cheryl saw it too and sat up straight. I answered and put it on speaker so Cheryl could hear it too:
"Hello?''
''Hey boy, it's me dad''
''Oh hey dad, what's up? Any updates on Hiram?''
''We got an appointment with him. I asked him if you could be there too and he agreed but only you''
''Is it okay if my friends wait outside?''
''Hiram said it's okay if they hangout in Veronica's room''
''Okay, thanks so much dad''
''No problem little dude, love you''
''Love you too''

I end the call. Cheryl sighs and leans her head on my shoulder. ''I really hope you get transferred back'' She says. ''Me too, I miss holding your hand at school and be with you everyday'' I say and kiss her forehead. We just sit there enjoying each other's company.

SO AT LEAST SOME PEOPLE CARE ENOUGH THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE, SO FOR THOSE PEOPLE: I LOVE YOU!
Please don't expect the best from me. I am dealing with depression and anxiety. I feel like I wanna die everyday. I don't expect you people to care but I just wanted to let you know that not everyone deals with easy things in life. Just be happy with what you get. I feel fucked up knowing that I hate myself.
