Here is another update! Enjoy!

A week was enough to get used to the situation in the office: Mr. Hernandez sudden inspection of some undisciplines, fired employees, and some threats. Though, he didn't do the inspection often, he somehow managed to know which employee that didn't obey to his rules.

Rules were made for a reason, and in this company, they were made to develop it into a better one by the good human resources.

She had gotten to know Andrew better around that week, taking his offer to have lunch together and some coffe after work. At times, he even came into the office and brought her a cup of coffe so that she wouldn't feel sleepy at work. Savannah was grateful for that.

Savannah looked around as she searched for a certain tall figure. After satisfied that he wasn't around, she began to open her phone and made a video call to a certain person.

She had just done her task and was free at the moment. She expected to have some minutes making a video call without getting caught. Missing two person she hadn't seen almost the entire month made her sneak some time to talk through phone and video call.

"Hi, Dad!" she chirply greeted her father. He was a man with black onyx eyes, hard looking jaw, and a little whitening brown hair. Savannah definitely got her fierce personality from her tough father. He was quite handsome for his age, which was at his fifties.

His father greeted back with a kind smile and asking about how she was doing. Savannah began telling a little about her new job excitedly while her father seemed interested. It was obvious that he was proud of her.

"You are indeed my genius daughter," he praised her, puffing his chest. It wasn't so wrong after all. Savannah, despite sometimes her stupid tendencies, she was a genius at school that she managed to finish her business degree as the best student.

They continued the conversation, telling the current condition in their respective living place. Savannah felt a longing towards her father, but she didn't want grandma to feel lonely. She had to take care of her as well.

"Where is she?" Savannah asked him, missing a certain presence of a little chirpy girl.

Savannah was immediately greeted by a pouting face of a little girl, arms crossed over her chest as she stared at the older woman. She looked cute doing that.

Suddenly, Savannah's father handed the little girl a candy that made her brightened instantly. She was also smiling at Savannah, back to being gabby as the little girl began to say how she missed her.

Savannah felt sadness gnawing at her chest, but she pushed it back. She was going to meet her again next month.

Out of nowhere, she caught a tall figure entered the building, surprised her that she said her goodbye to the two so fast. She didn't even wait at their reply as she closed her phone and hid it back to her bag. She hoped that Mr. Hernandez was so engrossed to his phone that he didn't catch her sneaking a call at a work time.

She glanced up at him, then pretended to act as normal as she scribble down some notes quite furiously.

Looking up, she nodded at him politely as she caught him staring at her. He just studied her for a moment, and went straight to his office after Savannah said her greeting at him.

Once his body was fully inside the other room, Savannah slowly sank down further into her seat in relief. That was close! She definitely didn't want to get caught by the pretty annoying man.

She didn't like him still. In all honesty, she didn't hate him for what he had done. It was just that she felt a bit bitter and reluctant towards the man. He just made her not very sure of how she should act around him, and if she could, she just wanted to avoid that kind of man who act as he pleased.

She didn't know if he had changed from around the time of eight years, and she never had any interest to find out.

Savannah just sighed, trying to get him off her mind by busying herself with her work.

Andrew had gotten a task to have a talk with a guest from Asia, so Savannah intended to go straight to home. She gathered her things, then exited the building.

In the middle of her walk, Janette called her, informing her that the school girl would meet with her boyfriend again. He had explained everything, and of course, he also got a mouthful from his girlfriend.

Savannah was glad. Brandon was a perfect match for Janette's personality which could be rash sometimes. After the Brandon talk, Janette began telling her about the food, what kind of dish their grandmother had cooked for dinner this night.

Savannah could already feel her mouth watering at Janette's explanation. She usually wasn't picky when it came to food. Well, no kidding, she practically ate anything edible.

Savannah's hasty walking suddenly came into a stop as a honk of car made her jump a little in surprise. Then, she let out a breath of relief that she didn't get hit by a car, holding her hand to her chest. She flickered her eyes towards the halted car beside her as recognition of the person behind the steering wheel slowly seeping into her.

Mr. Hernandez looked emotionless as he stared at her. Then, he gestured her to get in the car with him, flashing her a little smirk that she missed. "Let me gave you a ride, Miss."

Savannah debated with herself, then reluctantly obeyed his command and hurriedly opened the passenger seat. Did his house had the same direction as hers?

"Thank you, Sir," Savannah thanked him politely as she cursed herself for this unfortunate event. This ride was sure going to be awkward. He only nodded as he started the car.

Silence took place between the two after that.

Savannah looked away from him as she gazed at the window, biting her lip in slight nervousness. Her house thankfully was rather near. The ride only took two minutes and they arrived at her home, destroying the awkward silence.

Savannah was about to get out of the passenger seat when a voice interrupted her. "I need you to replace my secretary to accompany me in a business gathering, would you mind that, Miss Easton?"

Savannah's mind took a few seconds to ponder over his offer. She wanted to refuse it.

Seeing the reluctance and doubt in her eyes, Mr. Hernandez hastily added, "My secretary is currently available due to his sickness. The assistant will replace my place while I am gone. We can ask some available employee to take your place for a while."

His words sounded more like a demand, Savannah wondered if she would get fired if she ever refused the order to his face. She want to try to reason with him first.

"B-but, why me?" She blurted out stupidly, cursing herself as soon as those words left her mouth. She waited for his answer.

He raised his eyebrow, seemingly amused by the situation. "You are my employee, correct?"

Savannah nodded, but she wasn't about to give up that easily, so she countered back. "You've got a lot of employees, Sir, and I think some of them are even more capable than me."

"Mention me a name that is more capable than you?"

"Rose Daniels?"

"She had been fired yesterday."

"James Anderson?"

"Indiscipline, late almost every day."

Savannah racked her brain for another name, but she couldn't find any. Just when she was about to give up, suddenly a name that Andrew ever mentioned pop up in her head. She confidently said, "David Newman."

Mr. Hernandez let out a chuckle at that, even surprising Savannah that she almost gaped at him. What did just happen?

"If you pay more attention to your surrounding, you may will know more people, Miss Easton," he suggested at her, taking a deep breath as amusement still lining in his eyes.

"Actually, David Newman is the secretary I was talking about."

Savannah's mind went blank for a second, just as the information finally registered to her brain, she felt the embarassment creeping up to her cheeks. Darn it! She never wanted to crawl a hole and hide there more than this moment.

Savannah gulped, smiling sheepishly at him. So, now she had no reason to reject his offer. She just nodded at him gloomly.

Probably noticing her unexcited expression, he gave her a reassurance. "I will give you a raise of payment. So, we have a deal, Miss Easton?"

At least there was the good part in that. Also, she could buy more food with the money.

Savannah got out from the car, entered her house, and sulked to a chair in the kitchen. How can she get rid of him?
