It's You again God,
What a great way to wake, with these words in my head:
"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Psalms 16:11 NKJV
Thank You for turning my heart in the direction of joy this morning! People everywhere seek pleasure, happiness and joy in their achievements, their possessions and relationships. To a certain extent, they can temporarily find it but 'fullness of joy' is only found in You! Thank You for revealing Yourself to me and continuing to show me the path of life. Despite what is happening around me, You are the constant! Chaos, conflict and change can appear to overwhelm my life and some days it doesn't seem that I could possibly find reason to be joyful. BUT You come and remind me You are the source —You fill me with joy in Your presence! All I need is You!
I love the Passion Translation of these verses from Psalm 16. They are my prayer to You this morning:
"Lord, I have chosen you alone as my inheritance.
You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion.
I leave my destiny and its timing in your hands.
Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places.
I'm overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you,
for you have given me the best!
The way you counsel and correct me makes me praise you more,
for your whispers in the night give me wisdom,
showing me what to do next.
Because you are close to me and always available,
my confidence will never be shaken,
for I experience your wrap-around presence every moment.
My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory!
Even my body will rest confident and secure.
For you will not abandon me to the realm of death,
nor will you allow your Holy One to experience corruption.
For you bring me a continual revelation of resurrection life,
the path to the bliss that brings me face-to-face with you."
