LEIs POV
Its been more than a day since we arrived in prison. Asami and I were stuck in the same cell, which I was grateful for. I tried breaking free using my fire bending to melt the doors but the doors were too thick. Eventually, I gave up trying to break free, and just waiting for some good news to come. Asami stayed in the corner ever since we got here.
"Asami, are you alright? You've been there since we got here," I asked.
"I didn't like it when Tarlock mentioned my father, I didn't commit any of the acts my father did, yet here I am," Asami said, not looking at me.
"Trust me, I know how you feel," I said, Asami turned to me.
"My grandmother is Azula, remember. I had to stay in the Fire Nation for most of my life until I fully mastered my bending. I wanted to help with things like protecting the fire nation, but they never gave me a task. Lord Zuko told me to not mind them, and he said that one day, I would have my own responsibility. And now, I do. What I'm trying to say, Asami, is that, these people blaming you for what your father has done, won't be permanent. Because the only person who can prove you aren't him, is you," I said.
"Thanks Lei, you're a great person to talk to, you know. You always know what to say to people," Asami said, I smiled lightly.
"Its my job, Asami," I said.
Suddenly, the door was metal bended open by Chief Biefong, well, Lin.
"Hope you got enough beauty rest, come on, I'm busting you out," Lin said. I still didn't like her but this was my only option.
"Thanks, we owe you one," Asami said, as we made it out the cell.
After Lin broke us out, we immediately head over to the cell where they held Mako and Bolin in. Lin metal bended the door as well, revealing a surprised Mako, and Bolin turned around in the corner.
"Asami!" Mako exclaimed, as he kissed her passionately. I cringed at the sight.
"A little privacy over here!" Bolin said.
"Are you alright?" Mako asked.
"I'm fine, it's so good to see you," Asami replied, Mako turned to me.
"Hate to break the reunion, but Korra is in trouble. Amon captured her," Lin said. I immediately gave her a worried look, but I wasn't the only one who looked concerned for her.
"No, she can't be gone," Mako said softly.
"Come on, we have an Avatar to rescue," Lin said, before we ran out into the hall.
All of us immediately made our way to Air Temple Island, where hopefully Tenzin could help us. Once we arrived, we went into Tenzin's office, and we saw him talking on the phone, as we approached closer to his desk.
"Call me back if you find anything," Tenzin said, before ending the call.
"Lin, you should be in the hospital, and all of you should be in prison," Tenzin said.
"Wow, thanks for the warm welcome back, Tenzin," I said sarcastically.
"I figured you could use some help finding Korra," Lin said.
"Do you have any leads?" Mako asked immediately. He seemed worried, and it was normal in this situation.
"I've been on the phone all morning, and nothing yet," Tenzin replied.
"We need Naga, she can track Korra," Mako suggested.
"I'm afraid her polar bear dog is missing as well," Tenzin said. Mako turned to me.
"Lei? What about Kaya? Can she track Korra?" Mako asked desperately. I've never seen him like this.
"She's a feline, she can't track as well as Naga," I replied. Mako sighed.
"Then where do we start?" Bolin asked.
"My guess is the equalists are hiding underground, in the maze of tunnels beneath the city," Lin said.
"Underground, just like my father's secret factory, figures," Asami said. I put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"Yeah, that makes sense, when the chi blockers had me in their truck, it sounded like we were in a tunnel," Bolin said.
"I know where to start looking, come on," Mako said, before running out the door. We followed after him.
We all rode on Oogie, as we all made our way to the city. Mako lead us to where we fought the chi blockers when Bolin was kidnapped. We all got off oogie and Mako approached a familiar alley.
"This was where the truck that held Bolin went," Mako said, pointing to the alley.
We all ran down the alley, but we stopped when there were a few turns.
"Which way?" Asami asked, as she looked around.
"This way kind of smells familiar," Bolin said, looking at the road ahead.
Suddenly, Lin smashed her foot into ground.
"There's a tunnel nearby," Lin said, pointing to the road to the right.
We ran down the road, and we saw a sewer door, under a bridge. We ran up to the door, and Lin stooped down on one knee, as she observed the ground finding...
"Motorcycle tracks," Lin said.
"Korra has to be in there, somewhere," Mako said, as Lin lifted the door, giving us a clear path into the tunnel.
We went further into the tunnel, and it got darker. So, Mako and I made an open flame using our hands, only mine was blue. At the end of the tunnel, we came upon four other tunnels.
"Lets try this way," Mako said, as he lead the way.
"And what if Korra's not down there," Asami said.
"Then we pick another tunnel until we find her," Mako snapped, as he lead the way. I narrowed my eyes at him.
I caught up to him and walked by his side. He looked really angry, and really worried at the same time, even more than I am.
"What are you doing?" I asked Mako, He raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean? I'm looking for Korra," Mako said, he sounded annoyed.
"Yeah, well you don't need to snap at your girlfriend like that," I said.
"I'm just worried for Korra, alright?" Mako said.
"All of us are, Mako, but don't hurt Asami just because you are unsure of your feelings," I said, and he looked away.
I had to say it eventually. He was in love with Korra, and it was very obvious. I didn't want Asami or Korra to get hurt, and I had to say it. Suddenly, we stopped when we heard motorcycles approaching.
"Hide!" Lin said, as we all hid behind a small support wall.
The motorcycles approached, and two equalists were riding it. Somehow, a secret door opened from the wall, where the two motorcycles went into. Once it was clear, we approached where the secret door was. Lin used her metal bending to open the secret door. We all ran into it as it closed. Once we were inside, we saw many motorcycles and sato mobiles parked in an open area. We hid behind a corner, and saw equalists conversing near a tram. One of the trams arrived, and an equalist jumped off it.
"Everything was delivered to the prison, sir," the equalist said, before walking away with the other equalist.
"That must be where they have Korra," Tenzin said.
"We need to get down that tunnel," Lin said, as she led us to the tram.
We boarded the tram, as it made its way to the prison. There was a light ahead, which meant we were drawing closer. Once the tram slowed down, we all got off. The tram stopped at the station, and two equalists approached it.
"It's empty," one equalist said.
"Yeah, I can see that," the other equalist sassed.
Suddenly, Lin used her metal wire and got hold of the two equalists. We immediately tied them up in a corner.
"You two, keep an eye on them," Lin said to Bolin and Asami.
She smashed her foot into the ground again, using it to easily search the prison.
"My officers are on the second floor," Lin said, as she made her way up the stairs.
"What about Korra?" Mako asked worriedly.
"I don't see her yet," Lin replied, as she continued up the stairs.
Tenzin, Mako and I followed behind her as we made our way further into the cells. When we turned the corner, we were met by two equalists. They immediately threw trapping rings at us, but Tenzin went ahead and blasted them with air, knocking them into a wall. Lin continued down the path, while Mako ran up to one of the equalists and pinned them to a wall. I immediately went up to him.
"Avatar Korra, where are you keeping her!" Mako shouted at the equalist with an open flame at his hand.
"We don't have the Avatar, and we didn't attack City Hall, Tarlock's lying," the equalist said.
I put my hand on Mako's chest, and I could feel it his heart pumping so fast. I gave him a soft gaze, as I put my hand down. He cared a lot about Korra.
"Mako, please calm down, we'll find Korra," I said softly. Lin came back, along with her officers.
"I searched the entire prison, Korra isn't in here," Lin said.
"Why would Tarlock make up a story of being attacked?" Mako snapped, as he let go of the equalist.
"Because he has Korra, he fooled us all," Tenzin said, with a sudden realization.
Suddenly, an alarm started ringing, and we immediately run back to where Bolin and Asami were.
"Let's go people!" Bolin shouted, as he had a tram ready for us to escape in.
Once we were all inside the tram, it moved quickly as it could down the tunnel. Unfortunately, another tram was following us, with a few equalists on it. Bolin made his way to the back, and earth bended the walls, blocking the tunnel.
"Try to chi block that! Fools!" Bolin shouted.
"We got more company," Lin shouted, At the end of the tunnel, equalists that were too many to count.
"Hang on!" Lin shouted, as she earth bended ramp and an opening to the tunnel above us.
We had a rough landing, and once we stopped. Lin earth bended a hole above us, revealing daylight. Once I see Tarlock, I'm gonna make sure I get Korra back, even if its the last thing I do.
